This is my second s3... It's "updated" with baseband version I535VRLG1. I have not rooted because I don't want to risk ruining my chances of getting a new one if I have to...
Here are my current issues:
No Sim card error
Network Communication Issues (Connection will just drop randomly)
Keeps dropping 4g
Slow Speeds (4g as low as 1244 kbps down, 3g as low as 66 kbps down)
Slow GPS lock-on (Took 5-10 minutes at one point)
Some gaps between screen and bezel
If you can enumerate 6 things wrong with your phone then why are you asking us if it's defective? :laugh::laugh:
Get a new one man. None of that is normal as you imply by listing it all.

Maybe because I'm sick in the head, as well as a quality engineer who finds faults in anything...
I just feel like an a-hole because I made a big stink over my first one because of a loose home button... Now this new device has more issues than the first.
I also do NOT want a refurbished device. I want new.
As long as you're in the 2 weeks period you'll get a new one.
Also, as funny as this sounds, all these problems can happen if your sim card is faulty.
Mine is also an "updated" device with all those stickers. No problems here. Return it if you're having trouble

I got my phone on the 14th, but it's been less than 2 weeks since I got my replacement.... Does that count?
Maybe I should just try a new sim card first.

That is not 100% true.
I had a defective Rezound (badly overheating and killing the 2750 battery in 1/2 day) & it was almost new.
They wanted me to accept a refurb & until I threatened to just take it back for a refund they absolutely refused to give me a new one....
OT: but do they even have refurb S3's yet??

They might. It seems like there has been a lot of issues with this phone already...
I wonder if I should take it back to the store (different one than I already returned my first one at), or over the phone.

At that point, they gave in & sent me a new one in the box (I still have it)
Just called up, and they are sending me out a new ("certified") phone. Hoping this one fixes the issues, and is new....
All I did was list those exact issues up above, and he said well those are hardware issues and I'm going to have to send you a new one. I was ready for a big pain. Why can't the people in the stores be like this?
hey i have a little problem witch my touchstone, ive bought it a month ago brand new & sealed from ebay.
the first 3 weeks it worked floweless but since a week or so whenever i but my touchpad on it to charge, the charging banner keeps poping up and poping up and so on and it wont stop even when i take the touchpad back of the touchstone, so i have the restart the pad...
i completely resetet the pad using the doctor, nothing changed..
charging with the wire still works but it kinda sucks spending relatively much money for the touchstone when it doesnt works...
any ideas on that?

I assume this is happening when booted into Webos, if so I would try calling HP and asking for a replacement. It would not be unreasonable to assume you bought it last September and therefore still under warranty even if you can't find the receipt! They will probably just send another one . Hopefully the fault is with the charger rather than the Touchpad.

Edit: okay im not sure if this is a joke, i called them but nothing happened, i was in this phone loop for a half an hour before i hung up also i tryied the chat but it appeared a message that all of the support stuff are busy at the time and that i should try it tommorrow...
so i will try it again tomorrow and hope for the best^^

The last couple of times I have called this month to have the back cover replaced on 2 Touchpad's I have had to hang on about 10 minutes. For me it goes through to there call center in Brazil. The repairs are done in the UK at Ashford . Six months ago they were being done in Hungary. They are probably busy as most people are coming to the end of there warranties. I am not sure if their chat service is still working but I would still try to talk to an actual person on the phone.

Update Just tried HP again and got through straight away. Mine is being shipped now. Also it was Brazil and they also handle calls from Germany. So it's worth trying again or recalling if you're kept on hold to long. :fingers-crossed:

ok this is getting ridicules, chat still doesnt work and the first time i called i was disconnected after 15min and the second time i hung up after 25min...
maybe i will try it agein later...

ok today i finally made it and talked to one from the support, he sad that it wouldnt be any problem if i had a bill but unfortunetly i bought it on ebay from privat and the seller doesnt have a bill...
so i need some kind of bill..
any ideas or can anyone provide a bill, i swear i bought it legit and i dont wont to scam anyone, i just want a functional touchstone in case of doubt i can show the ebay transaktion, photos etc

Have you tried unplugging the Touchstone for a while then plugging it back in? I was having a problem with the dock not working and that fixed it. Also, make sure the plug is attached to the USB cable securely.

I have just had HP send me a new touchstone for which I did not have a receipt and noticed on the box it says that the product warranty is for 2 YEARS so there shouldn't be any argument about when it was bought as they only went on sale 13/14 months ago.
I would try HP again.

The TP seems pickier for charging on Touchstone with 3.0.5 compared to earlier versions (3.0.2) etc. It only charges in certain positions with me on 3.0.5 while before it was less picky.
so unfortuanetly i didnt read this thread for some time, so i bought another new touchstone and then i called hp again...
yeah today i recieved the replacement for my damaged one, so now i have two new functional ones
so if anybody wants to buy a brand new touchstone, straight from hp, i got one!

I filed my claim Aug 1st. Still no update or anything, other than the confirmation email.

Ok, thanks for the replies folks!.
Mine arrived, brand new, comes with cable and power. Came with a notice saying to hold onto your tablet and wait for the tablet return kit and to follow the instructions. Return kit should "arrive in the next few weeks". Charging now and still have to prep the old one so haven't booted yet.
Just received mine as well. Brand new in box. Didn't receive any emails about the shipment but glad it's arrived. Nice surprise at the end of a long day.

Just got mine too booted it up?No kill switch. yet Both online and working.
I factory reset the old one through the settings menu and rebooted, went back into settings and looked at my storage and it showed quite a bit of space still being used, the reset never deleted the titanium backups folder. I was able to delete it from the storage settings but will now spend some time cleaning it before sending it back

Just got my replacement today...turned the wifi on the old one off just to be sure...the flyer in the box the new one came in says i should take care of disposal myself...no need to return it or ship it anywhere...so i guess i will flash a custom rom on the old one and see if i can keep on using it...
I have HTC u11 dual sum European varient... It has issue no sound either through hands-free or speaker on call ringtones videos any kind of sound.... I have already tried firmware restore... On custom roms like linage or anyother i can connect bluetooth and get video sounds through bluetooth but on official firmware or official firmware base roms like viper when i connect bluetooth phone will hang and it will restart... Else no sound on phone in any sort of way when i try to play even a ringtone it will show unable to play file error

I just splashed my rear glass and since then there is no sound at all from device... When selecting a ringtone it says "unable to play this file".. and what i noticed is that phone reboot itself when reciving a call... From my point it is a hardware issue, but don't know what could it be...
Any suggestion will be appreciated

it all started when my rear glass broked and lcd few months back i went to htc warrenty and they replaced the glass and lcd but the strange thing was when they returned the phone it was all wiped out and then after a month or so this happened no sound at all.. i was in dubai and i went to local market to check it they said its some sort of sound ic and its not available... then i was in lahore so i went to local market here too and the same sound ic and its not available.

That's what i am afraid of ... If this chip is on motherboard than i can forget to get repaired in my country... But if it is on the bottom daudghterboard than maybe replacing entire board will fix the problem

The loud speaker and earpiece are seperate components and can be purchased here

speakers earpiece are not the problem problem is with motherboard as no sound handsfree either so location of sound ic on main board is required to be point out in other words the problem area.

Ok i opened my phone, removed the motherboard and trying to locate audio ic chip... Will try to reflow it with heat gun, because in my town nobody is soldering micro chips... Can someone tell me what audio ic chip our u11 has...?
Found it, it is qulacom wcd9340... now i am thinking to search more for someone to replace it or resolder... I think that i can really Easley to blow something else... any advice guys, because if there is 50% chance of success i will carefully try to reflow it...
Updtae: just reflowed but i think i reflowed everything but what i wanted:cyclops: it wont boot and no sings of life at all... Will try to find cheap motherboard, lucky i have my old good htc10

No, but phone is working as before, with no sound...i just connected it to pc a few days ago and it booted... I found one resistor broken near the audio chip... So i think the chip is good... I will wait if someone broke the screen in my country and sell the phone for 100-150 bucks??

Lolz my issue is i have 6gb ram variant which is hard to find although its current price in pak (fully working) is around 170 bucks.

Yeah, same situation here but with every htc u11... They are very rare and too expensive, htc not very popular here in the last few years...but dont want to order if i cant get personally to test it deforw buying... I dont need one more u11 with something else broken ?

Downgraded device to nougat but still when temp reaches ~53-5c phone starts laging,apps crashing,android buging and even restarts. How other ppl get around this problem, is there a way to somehow downclock? I was so disapointed with customer service, after writing them in advance matter,everything concise, they replied me in my native language(WTF?) using very bad translator, i laughed at what i see. Answer was something like: try to resrart phone, recharge battery and similar generic bull**** answer. Maybe im crazy but i think respond come from AI and not real person, it was so unnatural. Good bye sony for me, ex happy user with long list of sony smartphones. I imagine getting new xperia 1 or so, with 0 support and with bugs..

@slayernn every device running Snapdragon 820 have the same overheat issue like this, even on Nougat 7.x or Oreo 8.x
Thw only solution for this is just make it cool as much as possible or you have to open its back
Any ideas how to make it cold?
