As of now only Sprint and Verizon, the other two are a European open market (not sure if it's released) and the Korean version.

Right. So besides the obvious no US warranty, does anyone know about the frequency support of the Korean version in the US (specifically t mobile bands).
thanks

Virgin Mobile Canada SGH-I337M

Found out the SGH-I337M variant will be released at Virgin Mobile but when i goggle to model I get links to Mexican Spanish videos on You tube but can find no info on the specs for this variant.
From what I've found so far it seems to be the Snapdragon S600 version.
Hmm now I'm finding a conflicting piece of information here http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/02/...utm_source=#gadgetnewsfeed&utm_medium=twitter stating it may very well be Exynos. That would suck for me, as I'm really looking forward to the Snapdragon variant.

Here in Mexico is the model Telcel have to offer ....
this is why i think you have a results in spanish
The SGH-i337m is the Canadian (and Mexican model). I have this one (and Virgin Mobile too).
Snapdragon, bootloader unlocked. Search for "jfltecan" if you're going for CyanogenMod or TWRP.
ROMs will be similar to AT&T and T-Mobile ROMs (especially T-Mobile) but not identical (radio is the biggest gotcha).

[Q] Can I use an AMERICAN/ENGLISH Nexus 5 in Italy?

I would like to buy a Nexus 5 from Swappa.
If it is American or British, I can use it in Italy? What should I keep in mind?

The united states version and the United Kingdom version are different.
- The Italian N5 is the same as the British/UK version. (Model: D821)
- The USA version is another model D820.
You can use both N5 versions in Italy for 2G and 3G networks.
BUT if you want to use LTE/4G networks you must choose the D821 variant from UK/Europe/etc. NOT the D820 variant from USA.

Can the gear s2 3g be used in the uk?

Dear all
I used to have the original samsung gear with 3g, very cool watch and the new one looks amazing. However, I know the 3g version has an embedded e sim, can this be activated and used stand alone in the uk? Does anyone know?
Regards
Andy
Definitely would work if activated in States and used in Europe but roaming charges would be a killer. I don't know of any European provider supporting esim. Tried mine in Poland (Tmobile version) and it worked.

T-Mobile in Poland was able to activate your USA-purchased Gear S2 3G? Which USA carrier model do you own? Or is it from a different country?

Tmobile USA version

Why not get Canadian GS7?!?

So, if we aren't able to get root for US variants, what would be the downfall of getting an unlocked (and root) Canadian variant and using it in the US?
How do you know the Canadian version is unlocked

Because I Google it. Seriously. All versions are unlocked except US variants.

Interesting. And a Canadian gsm device could potentially be made to work on tmo. Might take some creativity and a mixture of hybrid software and patches but it sounds feasible; I'm so glad I waited to get one! Makes me wonder if the bootloader being locked is what's taking so long to bring us variants up to 6.0.1, could they be looking to release mm by ota and locking our bl's in the process?
Edit: cuz i sure don't want to end up updating to mm only to find my T variant now has a locked MM BL!

I mean, the Tmo Canadian variant has 4GLTE. WOuldn't even need to be unlocked, simply get your hands on a Canadian variant.

The Canadian one is Exynos but it's the international version. Someone would have to check if that version even supported US bands.
Does wifi calling and VoLTE work on TMOBILE with the Canadian version could someone confirm

It does not.
If volte and WiFi calling are important stick with the T model
The specs show that the Canadian model supports all the T-Mobile and AT&T LTE: Bands (2/4/5/12/13/17/25/30/41) as well as the 4g HSPA frequencies (850/900/1700/1900/2100)
If you live near Vancouver, Edmonton of Toronto, you can get an unbranded one from a Samsung Experience store and it comes with factory unlock codes
Of course no T-Mobile VOLTE or wifi calling. But everything else, including fully rootable

The whole reason we want the T-Mobile one unlocked is because AOSP does not support Exynos. There is much more potential for ROM development on the SD820 than on the Exynos. At this point though the Exynos does seem better than the locked Snapdragon. It is also possible that the Chinese version might be the best of both worlds (Unlocked BL+SD820) but I have not heard much on if it supports the important 4G bands for ATT/T-Mobile.

I think in gonna take a look at that now. I personally don't use wifi calling at all, alright i have to admit volte would be a loss for me, well with the loss of the ims service for advanced messaging and i believe native video calling, but an unlocked bootloader and faster exynos (i haven't flashed an aosp rom in forever) chip is almost a flat trade in my book. I might consider it if development for the s7 exynos starts looking promising. I wouldn't be against a fly unlocked exynos s7 edge, that'd be pretty sweet if there were a few roms and some kernel love from a couple devs, but that requires source code so.........time will tell i guess.

International vs. US model

I am on AT&T in the US. I'd like to get the 6GB version. I haven't seen that it is being offered in the US. Anyone know if it will?
Assuming it will, ifs there any specific reason to purchase the US model over the international version? I would like to have a phone that will work on both Verizon and AT&T, as I may change carriers.
Any advice?
The Mate 9 will not work on Verizon nor Sprint. Its a GSM phone which means AT&T and Tmobile
If you're changing, then consider T-Mobile!
Not sure you guys realize Verizon uses SIM cards now too on some phones. Pixel XL is a sim card phone that was sold exclusively for a min through verizon, my friends have Nexus 6P on Verizon network. Sprint also uses a nano SIM on all their iPhones. Now the bands they support maybe different from a US version to a International.

I'm waiting for the official US release in the scant hope of VZW radio support. (Not likely though)

Oh, interesting. That is a caveat that throws the consideration less toward this phone.
Thanks for the replies.

Yes, if you get a variant of the Mate 9 that supports Verizon's LTE bands it will likely work for LTE. However it will not support 3G, 1X, or voice (which are CDMA). The Pixel and Nexus 6P include CDMA support, which the Mate 9 does not.

The Kirin 960 natively supports CDMA. But whether or not it gets certified for use in the US in the Mate 9 is yet to be seen.
This is killing me. I'm on Sprint, I want this phone. I keep hearing multiple different things. I want to order an international one to have ordered one by the end of the year. I see multiple models (MHA-AL00 and MHA-L29) hoping something will work with CDMA (Sprint)
They likely won't bother supporting all the right frequencies unless VZ or Sprint brands the phone, which seems even less likely... VZ has been using sims since LTE rolled out but that isn't really the problem.
If you're on a AT&T or T-Mobile then who cares about the US model... The only benefit is that eventually there will be cheaper used phones in the US after 6+ months.
I have a MHA-AL00 (6gb, 128gb) from China and wish I had an AL29 as the Chinese support on unlocking the boot loader is terrible (e.g., I cannot get a code). AL29 is supported by one of the apps and also I believe local Huawei offices. Installing google play thankfully is not a problem but I'd be careful nonetheless on the AL00.
Verizon and Sprint

Verizon and Sprint only use SIM cards for international use, they had to use/include GSM in order for their phones to roam outside the US.
