Can the gear s2 3g be used in the uk? - Samsung Gear S2

Dear all
I used to have the original samsung gear with 3g, very cool watch and the new one looks amazing. However, I know the 3g version has an embedded e sim, can this be activated and used stand alone in the uk? Does anyone know?
Regards
Andy

Definitely would work if activated in States and used in Europe but roaming charges would be a killer. I don't know of any European provider supporting esim. Tried mine in Poland (Tmobile version) and it worked.

T-Mobile in Poland was able to activate your USA-purchased Gear S2 3G? Which USA carrier model do you own? Or is it from a different country?

Which carrier model? Did the watch have to be unlocked first?

[Q] UK Galaxy Nexus Compatible with US Bands?

I was watching some videos of the GN on youtube and saw that AT&T service was on one of them. I was wondering if I bought an unlocked version through eBay if it'd work on T-Mobile bands. Thanks in advance

According to this : http://goo.gl/8qoeo in UK you have 3G on 2100.... in USA you different operators that use different frequencies.
T-Mobile uses the same frequencies so your phone will work, on AT&T will still work but you will not have 3G but GPRS or EDGE. Check out on google the operators and their frequencies and compare them.
It will work on both AT&T and T-Mobile http://www.phonebuff.com/2011/11/uk-galaxy-nexus-work-t-mobile-att/

Sim unlock galaxy s3 on verizon? :(

Can someone please help me with me new galaxy 3s? I just bought it from USA and i want to use it on Greece but it is locked on verizon.... What should i do?
That's an 800MHz/1900MHz CDMA phone. If Greece is like the rest of Europe and uses GSM, the phone doesn't have the radios to work there, so you can't use it. (The SIM is for data, not voice, but you need the basic connection to the network for it to work, and a CDMA phone won't connect to a GSM network.)
You should sell the phone to someone in the US (who wants a Verizon phone - it can't be "unlocked" for other carriers) and buy the GSM version of the phone.

New Verizon phones have worldwide roaming ability (including the S3) so it should work on any GSM carrier outside the US.

It is a sch i535rwb 4g phone. How can i check if it has a worldwide roaming phone? Also what should i do so that i can use it in Greece?
You need the SGH T999 (The GSM variant of the SGSIII) The Verizon variant should NOT work in Greece on a Greek carrier.

Are you sure for that? If i am not wrong this is an US version too, whats the diference and i can use sgh t999 in Greece?
I used to think it was native but apparently not. You can still enable worldwide roaming though.
Here's the thread, you need to do some hackery

You can just root it and and flash the synergy mod rom and it will work on any carrier
Does it actually have a SIM card slot or just a built in one?
If you're looking to use it primarily in your area I'd look for a different phone - sell or trade this one. I've heard the GSM can be used but that it's pretty terrible and certainly not what you'd want for a primary phone.

Does AT&T V10 on Verizon?

My girlfriend really wants the mint colored V10 at&t has exclusivity over, but she's on Verizon. I'm not sure how locked down Verizon is. I believe V10s have both CDMA and GSM radios. Please and thank you
It may accept the Verizon SIM but it may not connect to LTE.
Carrier branded devices are tricky. We're not completely to the point of switching devices between carriers in the USA as fluidly as it should be.

No AT&T has no CDMA radio, it will not work calls/sms on Verizon.
EDIT: I know it would only be the back portion of the phone, but you could get the light blue / cyan / mint? back battery cover off ebay or amazon.

So what about global travel to countries that don't have GSM networks? Is the AT&T variant useless?

Verizon CDMA doesn't work outside of US and has to switch to GSM globally (Verizon Global/world phones are CDMA domestically and GSM Globally), so if AT&T GSM is useless in Countries without GSM (are there any?) then the Verizon is as useless. . Anyways as far as I know, there are only GSM and Verizon variants
Verizon works on AT&T, since it switches to GSM. AT&T does not work on Verizon, since it's CDMA.
There are plenty of countries that aren't GSM. Canada, Argentina, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, China, India, Japan, Austria, Germany, Poland, Russia and Sweden to name a few.

Off topic, I stand corrected;
Here's some good references, hope they help determine which device works best for your global travels.

Z3v and international carriers

good day everyone, I want to buy a z3v but want to know if the GSM is unlocked for international carriers even if it remains locked to Verizon. I'd like to use the phone in my country (honduras) and have no intention of using it in the United states.

SM-955F or FD and TMo LTE

Hello.
Anyone have one and can help me? I cannot get LTE on Tmobile no matter what APN settings I use. I know I have LTE here so I know it's not the band.
Thanks.

Yeah don't listen to this guy. The F model is exynos correct? That means no Tmobile software.
The F model you bought might be region locked so it may not work in the USA right now without unlocking it. I know there have been other threads about this not sure if a solution has been found or not.

i have the 955FD model and it works just fine with T-Mobile USA. did you call T-Mobile to ensure your account is provisioned for LTE access? (I assume you're in the USA). where did you purchase your 955F model S8+?

Hey Cortez. Good to hear this as I have the FD as well. Bought it on eBay from a trusted seller and it is region unlocked. I have LTE provisioned. So...i have "4G" and not 4G+ although I have seen both. What do you show and what band are you on?

4G = LTE. Go to SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>STATUS>SIM CARD STATUS and you should see LTE under Mobile network type. that's how i determine LTE access... there's also an app name LTE Discovery that can be used to determine which band you're using. by the way, i believe 4G+ is LTE-A, or carrier aggregation, which is faster than standard LTE..

not sure... i do know that when i use my T-Mo SIM (vs ATT) calls are super clear. i'm using my ATT account at the moment because i'm tethering my laptop and TIDAL HiFi music in my car. (my monthly data allowance with ATT is 100GB + rollover).

If it drops to H/H+ then you don't have VoLTE. If it stays 4G then you have VoLTE.

Wouldn't matter on band support. VOLTE should work on all supported LTE bands for T-Mobile. If it drops to H then that means there is not VOLTE support for T-Mobile.

It should be using the Tmobile csc to get Volte support..
I have US and international version, US version supports Volta same sim not supporting in international version... Problem is due to the Csc configured to the international version won't support Tmobile Volta..
Unless we have success in flashing tmobile Csc it won't work same as WiFi calling

whoops lol. Forgot if F or FD variants of the S8+ uses Exynos 8895, and U.S. models use Snapdragon 835.
