i tested the oneplus camera(both the v8 and 2.0.0 version) from the link you gave and compared it with the oneplus camera from this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...s-5-camera-port-redmi-note-4-7-0-t3656125.The best of these 3 is the oneplus5 2.0.0 version but iso on the pro mode does not work.If you have to choose between the oneplus5, the moto g5 camera and the google camera,google camera is the best in my opinion.Also,i have a sony sensor
It depends on your camera sensor... Photo or video, And how you take photos, manual or point n shot.
Mine is omnivision, I just care about still photoshot, I never record video. Then I don't want to mess with manual mode. So, the best mod is google camera hdr+ and snap camera with LLM mode.

Hello there , your link directed me to the thread created by arnova8g2. I can assure you you can use the camera mods mentioned there . I am using gcam builds and miui cam ports from that thread . So far no major issues for me

I installed google camera and it worked. Not perfect (Front cam and few functions do not work) but it works.
But i did not install camera2api. But i am in resurrection remix. Maybe i do not have to install it?

No need to enable camera2api or.make changes in build prop . That is required only if you using official miui . Custom roms comes by default with camera2api .
Few things don't work ?
Well.except slow motion and some artistic pictures with front cam ? all is fine ...

This ?
Xiaomi began to sell its first Android One phone Mi A1, it has original AOSP official ROM,but with a MIUI Camera.This means Xiaomi has ported the MIUI Cam to AOSP ROM,and this enables us to extract and port MIUI camera to any devices on any ROMs (in theory).
And it has been ported by many people to many Xiaomi devices with non-miui ROMs flashed .
However ,that MIUI cam app still needs much device-specific modifications and even needs to install many files into /system with a flashable zip.
It's a long and hard process to port it device by device. It's also needs root and unlocked bootloader to put files into system partition.
So the MIUI Camera Universal Port aims to port MIUI Camera into a common apk file that you just need to click and install.
Currently it's in early stage and have problems using some functions.
Important:This app will not remind you (showing a toast or dialog )to allow permissions.You need to enable all permissions of this app in settings. Go to Settings - Apps ,click MIUI camera and open permissions - enable all.

It worked!
Setted up all permission and it works without any problem. Flash, camera, video, selfie everything works. It's actually better than Snap Camera that came with my ROM.

Do you have non-miui rom installed,and don't have another camera app exist in system? You don't need it if you have MIUI ROM.
And make sure the existing camera app's package name isn't com.android.camera or it will have problems installing because Android will think this app and your existing app are the same.

It should work if other third party cam works.
Doesn't work on Mi5s with LOS15
I got FC when activate dual camera on photomode, in video mode is working. (Xiaomi.eu on redmi pro)

Only issue I experienced was using the beautify function for the front camera.
Work in Galaxy A5 2017. (A520F)
Not work in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Works perfectly on my Redmi 2 running MIUI 9 by miuipro.
Some issue are that group selfie mode crashes the app, and video HDR causes camera to freeze. Using Apkeditor I changed package name to avoid conflicts.

Well, the default MIUI camera that comes with MIUI 9 has no advanced features like manual focus, tilt-shift, video mode pause, etc on my Redmi 2, so this adds these features back without needing Xposed (I used to use MIUI 8 tweaks for that)
Awesome port! My camera app of my axon 7 mini is broken (produces just grey pictures). This one is feature rich and works almost flawlessly (panorama function FC's, but that's ok )

Both rear and front cameras are rocking with Fully Working Portrait Mode, HDR+ and more!
Recommended Android Version is 8.0+. But you can try on other Android versions as well.

Can anybody point me to the right version for AOSP 7.1.2 ROM's? I am currently using AEX 4.6 Final build released on mid November.

Slow motion is not working. Read the op.
I've tried a bunch of google camera ports, so far this is the only one which has everything working for this phone - front and back portrait, HDR+, slow motion 120fps, etc.
This was made by XDA developer BSG and not me, I'm only sharing a link to his work.
(Enable camera2api before using these ports)

If bsg's mod isn't working then try arnova's latest gcam there front cam won't work, front portrait will work. And if you'd use v7beta9, disable "camera.enable_micro" in developer settings....then everything except slow motion will work.....

Maybe the issue is with camera2api, 'cause on camera2api open camera was detecting front cam as a5mp sensor but when I whitelisted it for using HAL1 only it detected it as a 20.1 mp sensor, so it might be an issue related to HAL3 too...

It's working, and if you'd use old type device configuration then front cam will work with portrait mode too, but on new type device configuration it works for only portrait mode....

This is not the miui camera shipped with the redminote5pro, and quality isn't as good as gcam, lacks a few features, but it works.

I am on latest official MIUI build. Rooted with magisk.
the camera app does not open, it says- CAMERA KEEPS STOPPING.

K, this apk does not work on oreo. I'm on miui stock, cannot even install. I get error parsing apk.

Actually,the post should've mentioned that this gcam works fine on AI version. Apparently,the gcams from tigr and marlin-ku has front camera working on 6.x gcams.Arnova fixed the front camera bug and they too rectified it.You can easily download the gcams from celsoazvedo.

4K recording isn't working either... but then again this is the least buggy port for our whyred(Indian) I have encountered so far.

When I add those two lines into build.prop and reboot the camera the app com.sdgsystems.camera2probe does not change the information about camera capabilities, it still shows
