It's because of different aspect ratio.

There shouldn't be any black lines on home screen. In videos there can be because of the aspect ratio. Better if you post a image of your phone.

I agree, without a picture we can only guess. But on the homescreen there should not be any black lines.

On home screen it should be full display, no black lines, if u do have black line. Then u probably have a defective phone, claim warranty. But better post a picture first.

Will upload pic...but i looked closely today and noticed its reflection of pre applied screen protector? Am i stupid? I hope its fine! Plzzz confirm it look at the edge of it!

It does sound like you might just be seeing the edges of the pre-applied screen protector, although that shouldn't appear black, maybe you got the edge of it dirty, just remove it and see, it won't really provide that much protection anyway tbh, you would be better buying a glass screen protector.
The other possibility might be dead pixels but they wouldn't normally have a whole line of them although who knows with the new screen.

I don't have the phone yet so I can't check, just remove the screen protector and then you won't even need to visit the service centre, it really doesn't provide that much protection anyway. Of course, if you do so and then decide to drop something on it, I'm not taking any responsiblity for that

its a minor scratch nothing to special ... buy a new screen for just a tinny scratch pleeaassee !

What I meant was that according to what I know there is another protecting screen over the main touch screen so you can just replace that one.I think that there is protective screen over main touch screen because when you press too hard on screen you can see main screen gets discloured for a while.
So just replace that.

Asus transformer TF300 Problem after screen replacment

Hi
I just replaced my screen at my Asus transformer 300 due to broken one, I have replaced 2 screen and at both of them I see a wired phenomena that the screen looks like it have an internal scratches\crack, it happened at both new screens which cause me to think that the problem is not the screen it self.
If some one had that issue or familiar with that, I will be happy to get any idea/help to provide that solution.
P.S I attached a pictures of the new screens after installation and turn on the device.
Appreciate any help.

What did You actually replaced? Was it touch screen (front glass) or display (panel underneath the front glass)? It looks like Your display is broken.

I replaced the front glass only, per your comment, this is the touch screen, what is the display you mean?

Here is how it looks like: front, rear. There is also option to get both as one piece.
Thanks for your fruitful answer, I replaced only the screen that connect to the front side of the display, I will try to replace it, once again, appreciate your effort.

I also should clarify that display is vulnerable to heat and pressure. So be careful with new one. Good luck.

[Q] Strange vertical lines on screen

So hey guys.
I bought myself a refurbished Nexus 5 off of AliExpress. I love everything about the phone except what seems to be something odd with the screen. Mostly works fine, but quite often grey and white vertical stripes appear down the screen (as you can see in the attached photos) They seem to appear when I swipe in the same place a lot and will disappear after a minute or two, or sometimes if I swipe the other way. Almost like a smudge or a smear but with what looks like the light from the screen. It's very noticeable on white and grey backgrounds.
I just wanted to know if this is a normal thing for this type of LCD screen or whether you think I should contact Ali regarding them sending a new one? I could probably live with it if it's a normal thing, but it's annoying and noticeable enough for me to have posted on here.
Thanks in advance for any answers I get.

You gave us very hard job to do. I don't want to put you in a bad mood, but I don't see that stripes on mine.
Regards, Zagor
I don't think there's much you can do unless you open the phone and ensure the connections for the screen are firmly in place.
Water damage?

I did wonder but it did it straight out of the box, so I assume it wasn't that.

This thread is pointless without pictures.
lol, can't you start a discussion and share experiences without having to depend on pictures? I've stated my case, Screen burn-in within 3 months of using the phone. Unless you have zero idea what screen burn is, well that's not my problem or am I expexting too much from a Recognized Contributor? ?????

I don't think I have screen burn ... what background would be best to see it? white?
White is ideal but try to download one of those Screen Burn test app from playstore. Look for ghost image...

I wonder if screen protectors and tempered glass makes screen burn worst or appear sooner. I mean, we know screens generate heat and with screen protectors and tempered glass on it makes it harder for heat to scape.
My screen is amazing
I don't have any screen burn-in. But what is your usage like? The screen stays the same for a long amount of time? Just wondering if it is due to some prolonged still image on the screen.
The ghost image were from playing PUBG but I don't even play that long because I'm mostly at work and sleeping most of the day lol. Mostly just 2 games a day.. that's like less than an hour a day and not even everyday.
That's why I am wondering if having a tempered glass contributed to it by not allowing heat generated by screen to pass through.

I have same problem with my mate 20x up right side there is written killed alive and up left side there is bag icon..... Iam playing pubg mobile 3 to 4 hour per day with 90 percent brightness.... Plz tell me how can I fix this screen burn... My phone is out of warranty
The brightness and duration increase chances of screen burn in. Nothing to do with screen protectors.
Sent from my EVR-L29 using Tapatalk
Maybe trying to pry the phone open and slapping a new glass screen and digitizer on it. But its a bit risky to do. There are yt vids on how to open your mate 20 x up if youre so inclined and out of warranty.
It means there is no way to fix... Bcoz I saw some people's are fixing screen burn in samsung mobiles... Like note 4 note 5 s8..... I thought maybe some kind of software can fix this problem.... All the mobile gamer will face this kind of burn in problem
Here is the pictures.... U can see bag icon up side of clock digit 8 and the left side there is written killed alive

Uneven screen? More bezel on one side?

I started looking at my phone and it looks like the left side of screen has more black bezel than the right. I will post pics later today. Really upset if this is true. With the 6T I had an issue and the RMA experience is horrible. Post pics of your side bezel so I can compare. Post with case on and off.
I was looking at mine, sorry i cant post a pic. what i think you might be noticing is that the factory installed screen protector is just the tinniest bit to the right. at least, thats what i notice on mine. you cant see it unless you really examine it closely, but the bezels are definitely the same on both sides.

It's seems to be really noticable with white background. Or maybe it's the stock case that cut uneven. Put on your stock case and see if one side of the phone shows more bezel. I am using the clear stock case and that might be the issue.
you might be right. best test i could think of was hiding the navbar, then going into an app where theres a text input box on the bottom. this way, you can compare the curve along the box

This is the best pic I can take off the screen not aligned. Not sure if you can tell but with the bright sunlight you can see where it's misaligned. Left side is off by a bit.
I see what you're talking about, but I do think it's the stock case as well (i'm still using the stock case) and not the phone, because when I take the case off and look at the actual bezel of the phone, it's the same
Looking at it with the sun directly shining on the screen. You can see the AMOLED is slightly shifted to the right.

It was. That's why I sent it back.
If you forward the the 6:10 mark you can see the AMOLED screen is not glued to glass. This issue I have can become very common.
