Hi
I just replaced my screen at my Asus transformer 300 due to broken one, I have replaced 2 screen and at both of them I see a wired phenomena that the screen looks like it have an internal scratches\crack, it happened at both new screens which cause me to think that the problem is not the screen it self.
If some one had that issue or familiar with that, I will be happy to get any idea/help to provide that solution.
P.S I attached a pictures of the new screens after installation and turn on the device.
Appreciate any help.

What did You actually replaced? Was it touch screen (front glass) or display (panel underneath the front glass)? It looks like Your display is broken.

I replaced the front glass only, per your comment, this is the touch screen, what is the display you mean?

Here is how it looks like: front, rear. There is also option to get both as one piece.
Thanks for your fruitful answer, I replaced only the screen that connect to the front side of the display, I will try to replace it, once again, appreciate your effort.

I also should clarify that display is vulnerable to heat and pressure. So be careful with new one. Good luck.

I accidentally broke a 1cm strip at the top of LCD on my Touch Cruise, not the touchscreen but the underlying LCD.
Do I have any options apart from replacing the phone?

It was in my jacket pocket and hit a side of a garden bench. Not a major blow but enough to crack it. Then again I always felt that it wasn't particularly well glued/screwed together (Mine was from the first batch of phones).
Strange because my old HTC Prophet seemed to be able to withstand any punishment.
is it the digitizer that broke or the screen as well ?
digitizer

screen
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-LCD-FOR-H...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
both are in decent price i guess
Brilliant
I'll order one immediately.
Is there anywhere in the net a "how to" that shows me how to open the Orbit II?
Not that I'm aware of but I'm expecting instructions with the LCD when I receive it.
most sellers don't provide instructions to disassemble, especially if off eBay.
Look at this...
Hey,

its a minor scratch nothing to special ... buy a new screen for just a tinny scratch pleeaassee !

What I meant was that according to what I know there is another protecting screen over the main touch screen so you can just replace that one.I think that there is protective screen over main touch screen because when you press too hard on screen you can see main screen gets discloured for a while.
So just replace that.

oh ok , thx
I just purchased this screen:
directfix.com/product/XX2544.html
After replacing my old one, I noticed the screen contrast is incredibly high, do you think this is a screen issue or improper installation?
having the same issue, driving me insane. any help?
Contrast too high
I recently shattered the screen on my HTC One X and had it replaced (the screen, not the whole handset). Now, like yours, the contrast is too high. Very poor in many, but oddly enough not all, apps. Text messages in particular look washed out. Adjusting the brightness doesn't help, just makes everything flatter
I had a go with the Screen Adjuster app, found via another thread. Looked promising but unfortunately it seems that its base line is where your screen is already at, so you can only decrease the contrast rather than increase it
I hope someone else can suggest a way of improving the contrast. It's not debilitating when using the phone, just irritating and not as good as my original screen.
Thanks
Same issue
I also replaced my screen and found the same issue, poor colors and high contrast as if there is a screen protection under the glass, any ideas?
Thanks!
Same here!
There should be some app/tweak to fix it?
Maybe Bravia engine?
Same Issue
Just got phone back from getting screen replaced and contrast is way too high! colours look terrible too, any suggestions to fix this yet?
Thanks
Problem solved...I think
I just got called back from the reseller and they say that there is a screen protection film between the display and the glass, as I suspected, I shall bring it back to the service and post here the result.

From what I read the one x LCD screen is fused to the digitizer so there shouldn't be anything between them that's removable

That is not true

No they are not fused. The LCD and the glass screen are just glued together.Youtube: watch?v=ceHw6mezG60. My guess is that the reseller has in storage only LCDs and gorila glass, and when somebody orders a whole screen they just stick them together and send it to you as a whole. And sometimes they just forget to remove LCD protection before sticking them together...at least this is what I think.
Hi all!
I have a sgh-t839 sidekick 4g. The screen is now cracked. the phone still works, I can see all the menus, touchscreen works, can play music, etc. etc. it looks like the outer glass is shattered.
Anyone know a good source for replacement screens, and if I have to tear the whole phone down to get to this screen?
Thanks!

Ebay and yeah, unfortunately that's one of the last parts you get down to.
Give this a look for a tear down tutorial ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466906 (look at the third post down from the OP ;D)
Good luck!
If the actual image-producing part of the screen is still functional, then you can probably get away with just replacing the digitizer (touch screen) panel.

That should do it.

I got the part on ebay and works, as for teardown the most straight forward, just take your time if you never down something like this. just make sure the part has the double sided tape or get a roll of it for cell phones.

I see some horizontal lines when the phone's screen is off and see the screen on a very bright light.
Is it the way LCD panels are supposed to be like or any defect?
I already searched the forum and could not find any answer. Please confirm

Ok. So, it's nothing to worry about. Thank you.
Well... If you don't see it, definitely you have a defect!
