1. Flash with pit file alone of xxkpe with re-partition checked.
2. Then click on reset button in odin.
3. Then enter the mobile again in download mode.
4. Select four files pda, modem, csc, bootloader with re-partition unchecked and flash it.
5. Flash xxkpe once more.
6. Flash with ddkp2.
7. Wipe cache and factory reset.
got new galaxy i9003 on replacement.....
ddkp2/ext4/cwm 5
Most easier way is to factory reset before flashing a new rom. Remember wipe davick cache, after u flash too.

But you can see that after flashing a new rom it automatically factory resets, the time between the flashing done and the phone boots i.e. some process occur in phone u can see that automatically factory resetting

I was facing this same problem, not only with kp2 but even kpq bone stock with no root. I guess it's a hardware fault as even a full fresh install doesn't fix it.So my advice is to give it to the service center and let them replace the board. That's what they're doing to my phone, will get it in 2 days...
Issue Resolved
Thanks Everyone for the suggestions, Finally I have got my motherboard replaced. Its working fine now.
Thank you so much.

Yes its unacceptable that so many phones are failing at roughly about the same time... those whose phones are still running fine do run a risk of this happening to them too!
mzone1510, gugnani and dr-PHP,
I am facing the same issue with my GT-i9003 since last month... been to service centers here in Bangalore multiple times but these guys are clueless. They kept it under observation for more than 10 days in these 4 visits and promised to fix it. They dont agree to this being a hardware issue and insist that there is software fix which they are not able to explain or convince me so far.
I contacted the Samsung support and they got back to me. Yesterday they asked me to again submit my cellphone to the same service center and promised that they would fix it. I am really confused as to what steps to take now to get my phone fixed as only a month left for the warranty to expire. If this is an hardware issue, how do I get it replaced? Please advise.
Thanks,
Shyam
it may be boot loop..flash i9003 with ddkp3 and clear cache / do factory data reset... dont forget to backup

Continously mail and call the customer support and say them that it has been more than 3 times the service center cant fix the problem and ask them and force them to replace the handset... i had a similar another problem and gave it two times and recieved it without repairing the fault.. atlast i fired on them and they replaced with a brand nrw mobile.... say them that you are going to complaint the customer court...
send from gt-i9003 using android keyboard
I am facing the same problem too,
Then i send to service center and they change a new PCB(motherboard?), then this problem solved.
Now new problem arise, GPS totally no working.
Thanks Guys!. Finally they have agreed to offer a refund for the phone!

If you can go into download mode just flash xxkpe then flash yiur desired firmware. The whole guide is given in development section. As for the restart problem. If your phone restarts and factory resets(all contacts and msgs lost) frequently then its tge problem of motgerboard.in which case there is no solution other than going to samsung service centre.

ANYONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM YOU MUST READ THIS
Hey guys, i had exactly the same problems on my phone... only my phone reboots when i leave the phone in idle for 2 weeks before completely bootlooping on the bootlogo. at first i thought it was just a software problem and i could fix it by reflashing to stock. it took one more week before doing so since i didnt have a new laptop then. but when i got my laptop, i immediately flashed to stock but the rebooting still exists. i want to tell you guys, if it still reboots even if you flash to stock, IT IS NO LONGER A SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE PROBLEM! it is a hardware defect between the motherboard and the internal sd (usb storage). if you have this problem, bring it immediately to a service center for a motherboard fix/change. the cause of the problem is by putting the phone on your jeans/shorts' pocket (specially if its slim fit/ or tight) the phone bends and then it'll break the motherboard... also an unusual cause of the promblem is that when you have an external sd exceeding 8gigabytes. yes i too am suprised. i found this out when the technician asked me how much gig my ext. sd has. they say that it is adviseable and reccomended to have a 4gig ext. sd or lower. anything else higher could damage the phone.
my thread of the same problem on the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603995
i need help fixing this as fast as possible, everything i have read to get to a boot menu does not work!
i was dumping my system folder, had it in read write, all of a sudden the home thing started to crash repeatedly until the phone locked up.
now all it does is reboot, reboot, reboot, android with exclaimation and loading bar, then starts all over again, i have tried to get into a boot menu holding power home and volume up and even volume down, but no menu, all that did before was wipe all my apps and settings before, but now i am stuck with this...
please let there be someone that knows how to fix this, i am assuming it is from the system being read write instead of read only, so fixing that should fix my problem.
did i mention i am supposed to be returning this phone for a new one, possibly in 3 days?
I have the same problem, did you fix it?

Hi, i have been looking for answers on the forum, and i learn new things but not how to fix this or what is causing it.
I have buyed i997 from a reseller. He sayd it doesnt work because it have bootloop, but i thinks that is not too much problem getting it working again, so i started searching for the pc drivers n software, then i find here in the forum the stock rom with and without root, i tested them both with odin and the bootloop stills present. I wipe cache and do a factory reset but it keep bootlooping, then think maybe if i update to latest AT&T rom, but no luck.Sometimes the phone just start and theres no bootloop but its very rare and most of the time when i get to the lock screen or setup manager suddently a gapps or something crash and my phome freezes and reboot. I flashed the carbon-jb-v1.6 and suddently it worked fine, no more bootloop and everything smooth,no crashes etc.. then i installed Facebook app and when i was ttyping a message the phone froze up and then restarts, and the bootloop came again, and im stuck on it, and when i pass it, which is very rare, i start typing info in the startup manager and the phone freezes and reboot.. I wipe/format cache, dalvik, factory reset, formated system and data before and after flashing the carbon rom again and it keeps bootlooping. Somebody have similar problems or know how to fix it?
Thanks
P.d. sorry for my bad english.

Thanks man, but you think it can be the power button? When i unplug the battery and put it again the phone doesnt turn on or something, and when it boot up when i lock the screen with the power button it works fine. I set the cpu governor to conservative and since yesterday i didnt have any problem, but sometimes the phone reboots when typing, i think its someting with the processor or when the phone have little ram or something.
Thanks.

If you ran the phone on complete stock GB or FROYO and you are getting boot loops, it may be a hardware issue.
One of the few things that will give you boot loop with the samsung logo while using the phone is the power button.
Either way, it's no big deal to open it and clean it up to see if the problem goes away.

Thanks bud, I will try cleaning the button. Also I want to ask, is there something to log everything when the phone start? Or something to test the hardware functionality?
Thank you for your time

Bootlog Uptime will keep a record of all boots from an Android OS perspective ... It will also track crashes... It won't track events outside of a complete restart (i.e. power button bootloops.. But those are pretty obvious when they occur)
For hardware testing, try Z Device Test... That won't tell you about the buttons though... If your screen turns on without pressing power button or from any other standard event (like receiving a text or a phone call), or the phone restarts by itself, time to get cleaning..

Now i have one question, Do i need an special kernel for JB 4.2.2? i plan to flash the Carbon-jb-v1.6 rom but i dont know if i need another kernel
I'm glad to hear you solved your issue.
For JB, use the kernel provided with the rom.

hi,
i got a problem with my nexus 5 which is pure stock and unrooted . i think it was a SOD,the phone was turned off automatically . i charged it for next 5 hours. but still it doesnt boots up. i have gone through this and this links for help. Following the second link by pressing volume down and power button the phone wont enter bootloader mode. But when i connect the phone to a pc while pressing the key combination it enters the bootloader mode for a second and switch off then turn on again to bootloader and this cycle continues. Bootloader mode is not standing there permanently for flashing again too. also if i connect phone to a charger it keeps on showing google logo and then turn off and again this cycle continues.
Any help to this issue is welcomed.
More than likely corrupted data somewhere. U need to factory reset/wipe data. I've only ever used custom recovery but I'd assume that you could do this is stock. Have you tried holding both volume buttons down and power then selecting recovery in bootloader (some seem to have 2 bootloaders)

i have tried the key combinations ,the phone will enter into the bootloader just for a second and screen turns blank again and then back again to bootloader. this keeps on repeating and as a result i cant choose any options to enter recovery or reboot or wipe data. :crying:

Is your bootloader even unlocked? Sounds more like a hardware issue to me especially if you haven't put any custom ROMs on it or anything.

I would strongly suspect hardware issue then. These Nexus devices are really hard to brick in software. Can't speak for the Nexus 5 specifically since I haven't had it that long but it behaves almost identically in how you unlock, custom recovery, root, and ROM to my old Galaxy Nexus and I put that thing through the ringer with how many ROMs I put on it and never had a problem I couldn't fix by going into the bootloader and using fastboot.
I would RMA it if I were you unless you're feeling adventurous and want to use iFixIt or something. From the way you describe it, it sounds like the connection to the battery is going loose. Could be something else but if you can't get into the bootloader there's nothing you can do software side.
This happened 2 days ago to my girlfiiend and I tried any possible combination to make it boot, but i just didnt, i called google for an RMA because it seemed like a hardware failure because it didnt get past Google Logo , not even for the Stock Recovery..
Phone automatically turned off and never turned on again.
So i recommend calling google for a replacement.

Try booting in safe mode. If it still reboots, then flash a factory image with fastboot. If it still reboots then, you've got a hardware problem.

If you flashed a factory image and it still does it, then it is likely a hardware issue.
Replying to your PM- Boot into safe mode by pressing the power button, and when the reboot menu comes up, press and hold "Power off" until the option to reboot to safe mode pops up. Then just hit OK.

Safe mode boots your phone without any 3rd party apps or non essential software. It basically only loads the stuff your phone needs to run which will help to eliminate any apps as the culprit. Yes you'll still get calls, but any apps you use won't be accessible. It's not something that's meant to be used all the time, just for troubleshooting. So, if you still get reboots while in safe mode, that means you either have a hardware problem, or a firmware glitch. But since you said you already flashed the factory image that pretty much rules out the firmware, leaving hardware as being your issue.
