Playstore puchased apps are not being recognized - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, for the last 3 days im having an issue with the playstore on the OP1, previously bought apps are not being recognized as "already bought" altough they appear on the Library as bought, on the app individual page in the playstore those apps are not recognized as "already bought", tried latest versions of tugapower and POSP 2.2 aswell as older opengapps builds, also tried omniroom 8.1 but same thing happens.
Ive also fastbooted an alder build (44s) for a clean install and upgraded from there but same thing happens
Anyone has this issue?

Hello there,
Mine OP1 on Stock Cyanogen version 13.1.2.
On 22nd April my Starling App v0.65.1.26531 prevented me from log into my bank account with the following on the App screen ""For security we ask you to update your app from time to time. The latest version can be down loaded from google play"
I therefore deleted my Starling App from my OP1 and when returned to Goole Plat Store to download but I am not offered this App available for download. I contacted Google and a chap from google attempted for an hour to no avail. He even tried to air drop this app from my wife's pixel phone to mine and failed. I contacted Starling Bank-and they do not know how to help me.
I attempted to clear chache ect..

[Q] Hangouts = Google Play Service not supported on this device ?

My g/f phone is on the last version of Saba Prime v16. We did a force update to get Hangouts today and it worked fine..... until we rebooted it. Now Hangouts reports "Google Play Service, which some of your applications rely on,is not supprted by your device. Please contact the manufacturer".
Google Play Services and Hangouts were uninstalled, phone rebooted, then from play store they were installed again but the message persists.
I have a Desire S with Fallout rom, the same version of both apps and works fine even after multiple reboots....
Any ideas ?
I'm getting the same issue on a VZW Nexus. The weird thing is I have 2 Nexus LTE, one mine, one is my wife's. Both are running the exact same ROM/gapps/kernel/radio.... On one device the update to hangouts was flawless, on the other I get "device not compatible". Then a "play services" won't update error....
I've wiped the ROM clean install and tried to update before restoring other apps and still have issues.
Anybody have ideas to correct?
First idea is it sounds like it might be due to different versions of gapps before installing hangouts; I know that the gapps I flashed onto my phone got updated at some point afterwards, and now looks different to the package I downloaded and flashed originally.
Second idea, do your phones have the same CID? (i.e. same carrier, same sim-unlock state).

Okay I fixed on my end...
It seems as though it was on Google's server end, if that's possible.
The short answer for me was, wipe data > install ROM > install hangouts via apk (previously downloaded)> reboot > flash gapps > update Google now> update Google play services.... Viola. Seems like there should have been an easier fix.
Long Answer
I tried wiping data reinstalling ROM and gapps and that DID NOT work. I was getting the same error for Hangouts, Google Now, and Play Services and then some.... "Device not compatible"
I tried the exact same thing but logged into my Google account rather than my wife's and it worked just fine. No errors... Retried wiping ROM and flashing gapps, used her account, device not compatible again. That's why I'm guessing it was server side if that's possible. Even the web version of Play Store was saying device not compatible. CIDs were restored in each case and running same AOKP version and same Gapps.
That lead me to trying the install without Gapps... You only get so far before you must login to Google for obvious reasons, but for what ever reason, having the app installed on my phone before signing into gapps allowed for updating all of the other Play Services without issue.
It doesn't make sense to me but I'm up and running now...
My Solution
I'm a little late to the party, but this is the easiest post to find on Google for this problem. Mine worked after fresh ROM install, but it would start giving the error after a reboot. After much searching the thing that ultimately worked for me was to uninstall updates for the Play Store. I haven't uninstalled Play Services and after the Store auto updated, I could use Hangouts once again. I am using a HTC Desire with Cool Droid v3 GSM ROM.
I can confirm that steps suggested by MikeAce00 worked flawlessly.
This is what I did with a rom with gapps installed already
1. wipe & install rom -- do not input google credentials
2. install hangouts (google+ not necessary!) apk manually
3. input google credentials
4. update google play services (Hangouts even requested this...happened automatically after inputting the google credentials)
5. restart
6. done! -- hangouts should work
For me it did not seem to make any difference if you restart directly after installing hangouts apk or after inputting the google credentials

I've tried the methods proposed here, but no luck. At poinjt 4 I don't get a request for update, just the same old message about google play services not being supported.
I'm currently going through older versions of gapps and see if I get to a point where Google Play updates the right files in the right order.

[Q] Market not Google Play

Hi,
A couple of days before i was experiencing some problem in touchscreen of the device. I do a factory reset but won't work. I thought that i had flashed a dozen of roms so might be the touchscreen driver is being messed up.! So rather doing KDZ (Because I am on v20D India), I decided to do "Recovery Update" option which is in the official LG mobile support Tool (tried this option for the first time). The tool downloaded the complete V20D KDZ file and flashed the device successfully and phone get restarted automatically and shows the offline charging screen.! then I have done a hard reset to format the data and cache partitions. Everything is going good.! When I boot up to the home screen I found that the phone have market rather then Play Store. I don't remember that this was happened the last time or not when i did flashed the device. I wonder that it might get automatically update after adding the google account , but the market is not getting updated to Play store.. perhaps i also made a dozen of downloads from market and restarted the device several time but still it's not updating to Play store. Plz Help me.!

[Q] Unable to update apps

The device that i use is a Oneplus one 64gb edition
Android Version 4.4.4
Google Play store version : 4.9.13
Since 8th jan 2015 , i am unable to update or install new apps. The initial error message i got was Error 905. I checked the internet and followed the below steps to resolve it
1) Go to Settings
2) Apps -> all apps
3) find google play store - > uninstall any updates -> clear cache and data
4) Reboot the phone
5) launch google play store , wait till it updates itself and try to download the apps again.
Inspite of following these steps , i was still getting the error message.
I have hard reset the phone 5 times in the last 4 days but to no avail.
Since the last 2 days i am getting error 495.
I have removed my google account from my phone accounts and added it back ( this is as per the number of blogs that are floating on the internet ) but to no avail.
Play store selectively updates apps.
I thought it could be a problem with my WiFi network . So i tried updating/downloading apps using my Cellular network but the problem persists.
Could you please help me out with this issue as my phone currently is not a SMARTphone like it is supposed to be.
I have been flashing roms for the last 2 months on my oneplus one i.e moving between Kitkat roms and Lollipop roms . could this be the problem for my play store to play up ? ( out of the box question)
Have you tried accessing the Play Store and updating via a web browser instead of the app?
yep , tried that . doesnt seem to work . the app doesnt even show up in the play store of the phone that i was trying to download .

Play music keeps requesting play services update

Just as the title says Google play music keeps telling me I need to update play services, no other app does than and I'm running latest GPS and GPM so no idea why but it asks for it every few minutes as notification.
Any way to stop it?
Bump
Here are some screenshots. It happens when I open google play music OR when I press the refresh music button OR when I open the XDA app (odd what does XDA premium app have to do with this?)
Have you tried manually downloading/installing the latest Google Play Services apk? Reboot your phone immediately afterward, see if that fixes the problem. If you still have the issue, try installing the apk one more time and immediately rebooting again. I had this exact problem after a completely fresh install of 5.0.1 a month ago and I had to install the apk twice for it to be solved. (I linked you to the latest correct apk for a Nexus 5--the description at apkmirror says you need to check/verify the last 3 digits of your existing installation; don't worry, on the Nexus 5 you need the -438 version.)

I have tried everything from updating to downgrading, signed out, signed in, cleared cache, the lot. You name it I did it. And when I press the notification it doesn't do anything, its supposed to take me to GPS on Play store.
So yeah :/ what a mess.
Tried installing twice in a row with reboot... Nothing
Side one more reboot.....and it went away!

I found this (Google Main Components) while Googling the same subject & loaded it on mine that was stuck on October 2022 GPS update.

Not sure why some people get stuck on old versions, or, what this does exactly.
Hopefully, someone will chime in on the details.

THX for the info. I was able to delete it w/the ADB command & now I'm back on an even older update (July 2022),same as the OP.
I tried it since it was from a trustworthy source (APK MIRROR), otherwise, I'd ignored it.
Now, I'm going to try something else, mentioned in another thread that was referenced in the link you posted (delete all but one Google account from phone, clear cache & data from Google Play Services & reboot) , see if I get caught up & back on the normal update frequency.

You'll have to access that through your phone's settings. Settings > Apps (System Apps) > Google Play Services

I'm on the July 2022 update as well.
Again, IDK why some people are stuck on an out-of-date GPS version.
My phone is a carrier version (T-Mobile US, model SM-S908U) but, I have flashed it to the US Unlocked model , SM-S908U1 w/XAA firmware.
IDK if that has anything to do with the delayed GPS updates, but, I'm stopping short of flashing back to the original firmware.
If I get updated, I'll post the details here....
I don't know if this could be related, but in my S22 ultra Android 13 I noticed that the Google Installer was being battery optimized, that is, was put in deep suspension. I just set no optimization for this app, and will wait to see if an upgrade for Google Play appears (I'm in December 5 version).
So I'm having the same issues on my Galaxy S22 Ultra US Snapdragon SM-S908U1 (Bought unlocked off Samsung) using with T-Mobile Sim..
My Play Systems Update is stuck on July 2022. Security Update is on December 2022. All Google Apps unusable . It tells me that I need to update Google Play Systems but when I search for update nothing...
Has anyone found a fix for this? I tried the whole ApkMirror module thing and it only updates the date not the actual software. I ended up doing factory reset a few days later and that still didn't fix anything.
By the way, make sure Find My Phone doesn't have Device Admin privileged or you won't be able to clear data and cache of Google Play Services. After revoking that privilege you can uninstall updates.
Anyways. I tried it all. Nothing works.

I had that problem too.
My solution that worked for me.
1. Downgrade from android 13 to android 12
2. after booting up the phone with android 12, i did a google play system update. after that it was November.
3. updated to android 13
installed this google apk https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/main-components/main-components-2022-11-01-r-release/ then it got updated to nov patch

THX for the heads-up,I'm in the process of doing this right now.
IDK if you had to factory reset to downgrade, but, when I downgraded to Android 12,my phone wouldn't boot until after I selected factory reset in recovery.
Not a biggie, just thought I'd pass it along to others who may be interested.

That seems kinda extreme, going through a factory reset and Android 12 for that update. I understand it's a security update, but seems that Samsung (and/or Google) should get their **** together and figure out this one.
