How see the charging/discharging current? - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Questions & Answers

On previous phones, i was able to see the voltaje, temp and consumed/charging current through current widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget&hl=en but it doesnt work in this phone, only voltage and temp are reported.
is there any other software or work around to see it or it doesnt have the hardware to meassure it?

How hot is hot?

Seeing as how we don't haves cpu temp monitor, can someone enlighten me on what is considered to hot? At what point should I get worried?

So today..... I woke up and my Xoom was under a pillow. It was AMAZINGLY hot, checking the battery temp was over 150F and the screen wouldn't power on (overclocked to 1.6). EDIT: Check the battery temp after it powered on.....
I did a power + Vol up to restart and it turns out the battery had no charge, charged it up and its working fine now. Still cant believe it got that hot though..... Only time will tell how it works in the future but I may have just done a really sound heat test?!
Hopefully not too sad of a day in the life of my Xoom!

My CPUMaster widget displays cpu temp. You can set a temperature profile which can reduce clock speed if the temp reaches a pre-determined level.

Plus 1 to this awesome app.. Use it on my phone and tab..
Isnt there a recommended temp somewhere like spec sheet or is that only ambient.. Come to think i guess it is

I have done alot of reading on this subject and could fill a whole page on explaining it, here is the short version. I am a power user and oc to 1.6, have my xoom in a enclosed case (no ventilation) and I have to work very hard to get my temp to 98. F. If you are seeing temps 98+ temps without heavy, heavy use then there may be a problem somewhere.

Temperature meter

I've just found out that the temperature sensor of the Play must be acting funny. No matter what app I try to use to measure the CPU temperature, I'm getting senseless values. for example, setCPU shows in its widget that it's 0 °C which makes.no sense. Does anyone have the same issue?
The same here with setcpu and the battery says zero% left aswell?
Have you tried out minimal text of the market?
It's not really the CPU tmp but the battery tmp, it's just that the CPU is mounted close by. Seen alot of measuring in TMO (forum for Nokia N900) and it was never precise, just estimation.
Why you want to measure it?
Regards Dousan...
E: minimal text works it says 36 degrees on my play, if it's precise I don't know.
I want to measure it because I want an estimation of how far I can.push the overclocking without overheating the device. I may even try undervolting later, but then I need temperature estimations too.
I see, well good luck with that
Post your findings, that would be interesting
Ohh did you try minimal text?
Regards Dousan...
Minimalistic text doesn't allow me to access there. You happen to have bought it, haven't you?

Try system Info widget, cpu temp meter works fine for me
The app doesn't seem to measure CPU temperature... the battery one is measured though. It'll have to do. Thanks!

Must be new the donation app? I've had my free version since last year when i used it on my Htc DHD and backed it up with titanium and when i got the play i just transfered the tb folder to my play when i got rooted. That might be it that the dev removed some settings from the free version when the donation version hit the market?

Accurately measure charging current

Hello,
I am interested in finding an app that will accurately measure the charging current (NOT VOLTAGE) of my Nexus 5. I've tried a few that are really popular, but they all give me different values. Any suggestions that are actually accurate?
Software will always have inaccuracies but Current Widget seems to work well enough.

Battery and Thermals

Hi guys,
I noticed that battery voltages seem quite high on my device: at the moment, about 4,373mV according to accubattery and cpu-z.
I am getting this reading at 96% charge and without any charger connected.
Which battery voltage and temperature do you get on yours? Post some screenshots Many thanks!
i would be more concerned about ur SOC temps being at 96 deg C than ur battery voltage honestly..

Exactly, noticed that and was wondering if it's actually true or if it's cpu-z giving a bad reading. Comparatively, what's the SOC temperature you typically get?

Interestingly, CPU monitor gives me a reading of 41°C on the CPU. AIDA gives 85°C on the SOC.
Can someone pls post their results here? I'm wondering if this a defective unit.
For me it's the same , way higher on Aida while on CPU monitor are always on 37-38 c even when the phone feels hotter

It could for some reason be displaying fahrenheit instead of clesius 96ºF is about 35ºC

Thanks, mate. Can you also pls post here some screen from your readings on AIDA, CPU monitor and possibly Accubattery?
What sort of battery screen-on-times are you getting?

Guys, actually I found the answer for this in the meanwhile.
A bug makes SoC temperature to be listed with the same number as the battery percentage of the phone in a given moment.
For instance, on the attached screenshots I'm including now, you'll see that AIDA lists 85ºC on SoC when I'm interestingly at 85% battery. The same for CPU-Z, listing 83ºC there, when I'm at 83% battery.
A funny one, right?

I had the same bug as you but i didn't notice
I got around 6 hours of SoT using bluetooth and 120hz and a little bit of 4g, gps from 100 to 20%, but I can't give accurate sot times since i've been charging it partially these last few days and also i cant post photos cause i'm new
And battery life? SOT please
So I just received the phone with 65% battery... Do I need to charge it first time for 8 hours?
Relax, honestly I would just use it till 20 ish and give it a good overnight charge.

Question Change the wireless charging speed to lower watts.

Hi.
I know we always want the maximum loading speed in our phone but... What if we wanted a slower charge to have a lower temperature? Is it possible to lower the charging speed a bit?

There are some ways but requires root and it's not recommended to temper anything related to charging as if you mess up something you can even mess up your device. If you want slower charging, just use a slower charger/cable, that's the safest and easiest method.

Thank you Ekin_strops.
I hadn't thought of that, you're right. I have an old 15W charger that could maybe do the purpose.
Regards.
