Hi, G9700 user here & I have the SnapDragon CPU. The G9700 is for China & Hong-Kong markets only. I imported mine & it's working smoothly on the French networks.
Bootloader is unlocked with one swipe.

No.

RPMB fuse set
RPMB PROVISIONED
CURRENT BINARY : Samsung Official
FRP LOCK : OFF
OEM LOCK : ON (U)
KG STATUS : CHECKING
WARRANTY VOID : 0*0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT : ENABLE
RP SWREV : B1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) K1 S1

We should petition Samsung to unlock it.

The Samsung Pay version I had to install says "Hong Kong". I don't have a use for it. Sorry, can't help you with this.
P.S.: just by curiosity, I added a credit card & although it is from a French bank, it was accepted & made ready for payments.
No CSC blocking issues for me then.

Where are you located my friend? I would like to import the Hong Kong version too, but I'm unsure whether Samsung Pay will work here (Mexico).

I'm from Brasil, I bought it in Thailand at MBK when I was there last moth.

Install unlocked firmware

Can I install an unlocked firmware on a device locked to a network?
If it is compatible then yes!

What do you mean by compatible? I know that the firmware must be to my model (SM-G920F).
What I am thinking to do is to apply the firmware United Kingdom BTU. My device is from Vodafone Portugal.
No one has a answer?

After a bit more of investigation I have read that in some older samsung devices (galaxy S4, ...) putting an unlocked firmware on a branded phone could lead to problems. IS this still the case?

There is already a unbranded one, not for Portugal but for United Kingdom. My reason to do this is to remove the carrier crap and see if I can get a better battery life.

Since the hardware is the same I don't think it does any difference if the firmware is for Portugal or United Kingdom. My only doubt is related to the branded phone with unlocked firmware. Still I would like someone with more experience to shed some light in this matter.
No one care to comment on the possibility of problems in putting an unlocked ROM into a branded phone (locked to a network)?
Yes you can but your device is still locked to the network it came on unless you unlock with a unlock code.

Was anyone able to unlock your S6?
I bought mine in Germany and it is locked to all of the European networks.
I've order an unlock code from 5 different unlocking sites but no one can unlock it yet.
I'm in the exact same situation, and would love to know how.

can you tell us from where you tried to buy the codes? (so we won't buy from them)
I successfully unlocked my S6 Edge through cellunlocker.net

Hi guys
I had a Samsung s7 with model number sm-g930t, But it had never been t mobile since I had it. and I am with Vodafone. Now Vodafone has set up the wifi calling and this isn't working because I think I have now changed my phone back to t mobile. Does anyone know if there is different firmware that I can use?

It will never work properly here (UK) as it's Qualcomm snap dragon and it was build for a different region.
You can attempt to install different firmware from UK or EU but it's really just luck if you get it to work or not.
To get wifi calling to work you will need to flash unbranded firmware, either BTU (UK) or XAS (USA). Even when you flash US unbranded as i said earlier it will not be fully functional in this region as it does not have the required hardware.

Yes if you want to use it in the UK.
Carriers in the US, T Mobile (US), Vodafone (US) etc DO NOT use the same connection standard as Vodafone, T mobile, UK. It is essential you understand this. There is no advantage to flashing UK network branded firmware, unbranded will give you all available connection options but not 100%.

SamFirm tool is a good way to get the most recent firmware files from samsung servers directly.
Otherwise it's firmware rehosts like sammobile or updato

can i replace the motherboard of the SM-G781W with a SM-G781B one? or would i be still not able to unlock the bootloader
Hello friends,
Recently I moved to Canada, I have the international model, G781B, I was wondering if it is possible to flash the canadian variant. Reason: 5G didnt work so far, tryied everything to make it work, even manually configuration of Bell network.
Comparing at the gsmarena.com, the hardware looks like the same.
I'm almost giving up and buying a new phone.

Most likely your carries uses mmwave 5g network, and international S20 FE 5g uses the other spectrums for 5g. There is no way a software flfash can change anyting, and I do not think that you can even flash software for thw wrong phone model, as odin check the BL version prior to flashing
