The battery of my Honor 9 is slowly degrading after about 2 years and I think it's time to replace it. I found a nice guide on youtube and it requires a lot of tools to do it. Does anybody know any european online shop (preferably in Germany) where the battery can be ordered together with all the tools (especially the stickers)?
I was wondering if using glue to stick the new battery and the back cover would be ok. In such case, which kind of glue fits?
2 years, it lived its life. Rather than risking money and ending with a cracked phone you should really buy something new or live with the phone till the battery dies for good. Not worth the risk and money really.

Please allow me to strongly disagree here. The battery is about $10 (or about 20 EUR for an original one) and the phone itself is in no way techically outdated. It's worth to try. If he really cracks or breaks his phone, yes, he maybe has to buy a new one... but he has to buy a new one for sure if he doesn't even try it at all
I have changed my battery only on a Honor 7, not on a Honor 9, yet. But considering this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZcR5IuHu90 the change doesn't seem that complicated. Most of the tools (listed in the description) are pretty standard tools for these kind of work. Most of that stuff can easily found in Germany on Amazon (check the Zacro tools out), Screen Shop, Reichelt and many other online shops as complete kits for just a few EUR... or you can buy a iFixIt set for a few more EUR... getting the battery itself is a bit harder, especially if you want an original one, but there are some offers on Amazon, too.
However, I have no clue about the glue

Sorry, I totally disagree. The honor 9 is still a good phone, considering that it will also get Android 9 soon. I changed batteries on other phones (where the procedure was much easier) and it was 100% successful.

Best way to preserve your battery is to only charge to 80% and don't let it get below 20%. I have used gsam battery monitor for years to alert me. My phone is 18 months old and still have the same performance as new. My GSam average is over 1 1/2 days life from a single charge.
I have never asked for suggestions about making the life of my battery longer or about whether I have to change or not. I simply asked where I can find all the tools to do that (especially the glue/stickers).

No problem, just imparting useful information that may stop you having to do this in the future.

The glue or the stickers are crucial, as apparently the back cover is glued to the phone.

any one tried it already ? or is there any review? i cant seem to find any on the web!
btw, its make in Japan.
The look of the battery is really nice.
But 2430
Can't say I've tried it but it looks like crap to me, same as most other batteries on eBay. Who cares if their battery is gold or not?

Yup, looks way better than the ones in the accessories section
This seems totally fake.
Googling will get you a few discussions on this battery, but the following image should confirm all suspicions.
http://img109.imageshack.us/i/20100708029.jpg/
For this one (1930mAh) it is only 750mAh....
well, i think this is fake and i don't think this is made in Japan, but in mainland china
I'm about 400% sure it is a piece of ****. Unless they are selling some amazing new high density cell technology for only ten quid. If so we need to thank them for not seeking to profit from their industry changing discovery.

its not a gold like metal battery, lol. its just a normal battery wrap in gold sticker.
mmmmm, gold stickers also increase the CPU speed. lol
that really funny.....
I never tried, but look at the cell type Li-Ion Polymer IMHO it's somehow realistic. Maybe not as their ads 2430mAh but somewhere between 1230 and that value. Then 20 bucks is worth to try, any one brave enough to try and report?
You can check the seller's recent feedback and see if anyone bought any from them.
I mean there shouldn't be any harm, its just a battery. Its not like buying an adapter charger, in case of wrong voltage which will fry ur phone.
now, I'm no expert (and there is no end of websites run by battery experts), but there is a limitation as to how many mah can fit into a certain space.
That is, the OEM battery size gives a certain output, and you can probably get a bit more in the same form factor.
But not double Simply don't believe the bull**** out there. Whether it's chinese, japanese, gold or silver.
Older teminal designs allowed manufacturers to market physically bigger batteries with a custom cover, of course that is not an option here.
I am quite happy as long as I can get a day out of the phone, charging overnight.
If you want a 11,000 mah battery, look here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Largest-Capacity-In-The-World+1-AMP-Faster-Charging/dp/B004CHMP50/
There you go, your phone will run forever with that baby hooked up to it.
I bought a 5000 mah pack for about 2/3 the price, mainly since I want to be using the gps for tracking (and being tracked) purposes while out in the country on my mountain bike. Works very well, it's not heavy, it's a bit like having another small phone with you
Its quite likely that most manufacturing overstate the specification, which is a common thing really, not just battery, broadband, harddrive, etc. They always claim it has more then what it actually has.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't go so far calling it a fake, since japs does always paint something gold or silver to suggest higher quality stuff. Because when I was a kid living in asia, I buy a lot of radio control cars from japan and their expensive parts like battery, motors, always has something gold or silver attach to it
Has anyone ever got a decent battery from eBay?
I have been looking and I see a lot of 1500 mah ... but then if you read the fine print they say 1500 mah (+/- 200 mah) which admits that it is just another 1300 mah knock off. How can a legitimate battery be + or - 200 mah...
To bad the battery's coming from Japan are crap.
You want battery's from Hongkong, those are way better.
Anyway i bought a replacement/2nd battery wich had 1600mAh.
But after 2 weeks it wasnt as good as the stock battery wich let me use my phone all day and the 1600mAh one didnt.

Precisely. tbh, I understand we'd all like to believe there are miracle solutions to this, but equally we should understand that this miracle is not going to come from an ebay seller
However few dollars a cheap battery costs you, it ain't much use if it's going to fail after a few hours. And the hassle linked with keeping replacement batteries charged is not worth it either. I had a spare OEM battery for my previous phone, and I got fed up of keeping it ready.
3 solutions:
1) strategies to minimise power consumption (loads of suggestions in this sub-forum)
2) keep it topped up during the day if you're at home/office
3) get an external power pack as I mentioned above, 5000mah variants are (were) GBP23 on Amazon.
Hey guys, in short, I was wondering what you thought the best way to go about ordering a used or refurbished pixel would be. The last time I bought a refurbished/used phone, it had a crappy battery, that had been run down and abused for years prior. I dont mind getting a gently used phone for a discount- but how can I best ensure the battery is still going to perform OK?
Secondly- I am purchasing this phone for one of my parents- it is their first smart phone. it seems the google phones are a little easier to use, and being on verizon, our options are limited, although I thought this would be a good choice. I have the pixel 2 XL and I am sure the experience/interfaces are similar.
Anyway, if anyone has any advice on how to go about doing this, or any other tips- would love to hear it! Thanks

Okay, thanks. However, I guess I am worried about getting a phone that has a crap battery. Any advice for finding a used or refurbished phone still has a good or still well-functioning battery?
I'm afraid you can't test phone's battery "remotely" so you can't be sure that battery is functioning properly when buying an used phone. I suggest you to go with swappa as they have a good verification system and you won't be scammed. You can always replace battery later for cheap tho.
Agree with burduli, your parent mileage might vary compared to the user who used it before. While that person might get good battery life it might not be the same for you as there are other apps that each person installs. Look for the newest device would probably be my suggestion. Chances are that battery life would be better the newer it is but no guarantee as it depends on usage though. Then again, you could probably buy one used and swap out the battery to get the best experience later on if the battery life bugs you. Refurbished phones might be a good way to go as they usually swap out the battery before sale. Then again ask the seller before you purchase though incase it's refurbished.
Do you foresee a battery case coming out for this phone? Or know of one in the making? Better yet one that exists? Thanks!
Yes, it will probably be 3-6 months before one comes out though, most likely. We barely even have any regular aftermarket cases except super cheapass generic thin TPU cases right now.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have a 12k mAh battery pack for my current non-mainstream phone. It's such a PITA to drag around.
Actually, the ZeroLemon 7500mah battery case for the OnePlus 3 is compatible with the OnePlus 6. I havr tried it and it works. Every port and button aligns along with the camera and even the fingerprint scanner. But the notification slider is hidden since it is on a different side now.

@sabbyj, thanks for the tip! I see the case you're talking about is this one. It's pretty bulky - not gonna lie! That's awesome to know. I'm sure one could cut a hole out for the slider too. I found a battery case that's more of a slimmer profile. It looks a little sketch but TBH, these type of cases were made for all the oneplus's and they can be found on aliexpress, Though I haven't found any reviews on it. Who knows how the quality will be. It's also not exactly my style as I prefer the battery cases that offer more protection like the one you mentioned.
Hopefully there will be more coming out soon!! Please post here if anyone finds one! Thank you:good:
I think this list might help for grabbing a OnePlus 6 battery case
roundup of battery cases and chargers
I just got my first Oneplus (6) , and as a fan of zerolemon products I will be waiting for their extended charger. I have had a Zero lemon battery for my last two phones including S4 and the Note 9 and loved both of them. I find a brick phone that doesn't die way more useful than a slim phone that dies out on you when you need it and worse yet you have to drag around power banks for it everywhere.
Last I asked Zerolemon on FB they said they were working on a Note 9 case, so hopefully they start working on a OP6 one now! The amount of demand and sale this phone has had there's no way they won't be supporting it.
Realistically, unless you're a very heavy user, there's not a NEED for a extended battery. It's not like you're scared to leave the house without a charger. I take my charger to work with me and rarely use it. These are 12hr shifts too. Granted, I'm not on my phone all shift. I do have to do a little work,. Lol
Sadly, it's very difficult to find battery cases for phones other than the ones from Apple and Samsung. I really want an OnePlus 6 or 6T (when the latter comes out), but I have to get a battery case as I keep traveling where hooking up to my phone for long time is a common thing (wait for the customer at his place, stuck in the Indian traffic jam in a public vehicle). I have been using a 7500 mAh powerbank, but that feels inconvenient. I know using a battery case means I have deal with its bulk, but that is acceptable (it will also protect my phone anyway in case I drop it).

I appreciate that. But the shipping cost would be too much, not worth it. I even have friends in US who could help, but that can work only if one of them makes a visit to India this winter. Ali is not an option in India, I guess. I may have to end up buying Note 9 which is a far more capable device for sure, but I'm not sure whether I want to spend that much specially when my travel would be hectic (high probability of phone damage). Oh well, a battery case would be there, but...
found one on ebay tho, looks good

I got in touch with the guys at Zerolemon sadly they have no plans on releasing a battery case for the OnePlus 6
I was thinking of getting the One Plus 6 (or 6T). It would be my first phone with no (user) replaceable battery, which concerns me, as I like to keep my phones for a long time. (My current phone is a Galaxy S5.) With my previous phones, I would buy replacement batteries when the original ones started to hold less charge.
So, my question is how hard is it to get the battery replaced, more specifically in the US? Does anyone know the approximate cost and where to send it?

there is a video on this.... it includes a link to all parts needed and seems pretty straight forward.
I'll tell you from personal experience, it's much harder then it may seem on the videos. I swapped the back cover on my Gunmetal 3t, and wasn't worth it to be honest. Would be worth the few extra dollars to have OnePlus do it instead
I believe there's a service center in tx

Where can i buy original battery for OP6?
UP!
Any place here to buy original OP6 battery?
Want reserve one for 3 years from now replace....
I'm sorry to give this thread with a shovel...
But i was searching around and did not find this answer anywhere... Could a op6T battery fit in a op6? Could the op6 take advantage of the extra juice?
Thank you in advance!
Boa pergunta...
Still looking for original OP6 battery...
I need a new battery for my Pixel 1. The ubreakifix website says it's $80, which I believe would be an OEM battery and Goggle's official repair store so I could probably trust that they'll use a real OEM battery, do the job right, and stand by it if anything goes wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong.
There's a different store near my house that does computer and phone repair, they said it would be $45 for a non OEM battery or $52 for OEM. They have great reviews on the Facebook neighborhood group.
I'm inclined to just go with them and save the $28-35, plus they are much closer to me than ubreakifix. I'm wondering what the risk is though, other than losing the money if their battery is crappy. My battery right now is awful, phone shuts down after about 2 hours, 1 hour SOT, so I'm pretty sure any battery will be an improvement. I'll probably be ready for a new phone in 6 months to a year. Haven't decided if I'll stick with Pixel or get a budget Android (Nokia 6.1 or Moto G6 per Wirecutter).
Is this a horrible idea to get the battery replaced by this independent store? If not, should I go with the OEM for $52 (not sure how to even verify they are using OEM though) or the non-OEM for $45?
I bought a non OEM battery 20$, China direct foam tape/gasket 3$ then upon reading, watching vid's. The feedback from some who have tried was a little worry some. It appears a possibly of screen breakage from splitting open glue tape. So my recommendations are will service require you to also pay for a new screen?. I bought another used one and still haven't attempted replacement.

So just have them install the cheaper battery but make sure their policy is to fix anything else that breaks while they are working on it, rather than me assuming that risk and having to pay then to fix anything else they might break while working on it?
Yes, now OEM battery is best, but. Clones with fake OEM labels, or old date codes...maybe new but old? Best that whom ever replaces battery gives you assurances it will be new OEM, or not at least new date codes. Our devices are 3 models old now.

I see. Is there a list of date codes that I can compare to what they provide? I'm also wondering if an older OEM is still better than a newer knock off, or in that case if it would be better to just get the newer battery even if it's not OEM.
What the vender can supply, batteries are like fresh fruit, newer better. With my limited knowledge oem date codes from when
model was released mean old now. My opinion is newest possible, believable date codes. New OEM is not really possible I think since every model once production stops "a newer better\different " device happens.
