Battery case? - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Do you foresee a battery case coming out for this phone? Or know of one in the making? Better yet one that exists? Thanks!

Yes, it will probably be 3-6 months before one comes out though, most likely. We barely even have any regular aftermarket cases except super cheapass generic thin TPU cases right now.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have a 12k mAh battery pack for my current non-mainstream phone. It's such a PITA to drag around.

Actually, the ZeroLemon 7500mah battery case for the OnePlus 3 is compatible with the OnePlus 6. I havr tried it and it works. Every port and button aligns along with the camera and even the fingerprint scanner. But the notification slider is hidden since it is on a different side now.

@sabbyj, thanks for the tip! I see the case you're talking about is this one. It's pretty bulky - not gonna lie! That's awesome to know. I'm sure one could cut a hole out for the slider too. I found a battery case that's more of a slimmer profile. It looks a little sketch but TBH, these type of cases were made for all the oneplus's and they can be found on aliexpress, Though I haven't found any reviews on it. Who knows how the quality will be. It's also not exactly my style as I prefer the battery cases that offer more protection like the one you mentioned.
Hopefully there will be more coming out soon!! Please post here if anyone finds one! Thank you:good:

I think this list might help for grabbing a OnePlus 6 battery case
roundup of battery cases and chargers

I just got my first Oneplus (6) , and as a fan of zerolemon products I will be waiting for their extended charger. I have had a Zero lemon battery for my last two phones including S4 and the Note 9 and loved both of them. I find a brick phone that doesn't die way more useful than a slim phone that dies out on you when you need it and worse yet you have to drag around power banks for it everywhere.
Last I asked Zerolemon on FB they said they were working on a Note 9 case, so hopefully they start working on a OP6 one now! The amount of demand and sale this phone has had there's no way they won't be supporting it.

Realistically, unless you're a very heavy user, there's not a NEED for a extended battery. It's not like you're scared to leave the house without a charger. I take my charger to work with me and rarely use it. These are 12hr shifts too. Granted, I'm not on my phone all shift. I do have to do a little work,. Lol

Sadly, it's very difficult to find battery cases for phones other than the ones from Apple and Samsung. I really want an OnePlus 6 or 6T (when the latter comes out), but I have to get a battery case as I keep traveling where hooking up to my phone for long time is a common thing (wait for the customer at his place, stuck in the Indian traffic jam in a public vehicle). I have been using a 7500 mAh powerbank, but that feels inconvenient. I know using a battery case means I have deal with its bulk, but that is acceptable (it will also protect my phone anyway in case I drop it).

I agree. You can try this case: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5000mAh-Ba...er-Back-Cover-Case-for-Oneplus-6/253714440150

I appreciate that. But the shipping cost would be too much, not worth it. I even have friends in US who could help, but that can work only if one of them makes a visit to India this winter. Ali is not an option in India, I guess. I may have to end up buying Note 9 which is a far more capable device for sure, but I'm not sure whether I want to spend that much specially when my travel would be hectic (high probability of phone damage). Oh well, a battery case would be there, but...

found one on ebay tho, looks good

I got in touch with the guys at Zerolemon sadly they have no plans on releasing a battery case for the OnePlus 6

Batteries

I'm getting my Sensation on Monday, and am starting to buy accessories. I'm not trying to be cheap, especially in anticipation of the goodness to come, but, $44 is a LOT of cash for a battery. Has anyone ever heard of this brand:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Battery-HTC...334125?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4aac1fa1ed
I know that "eBay batteries" are chancy, at best. On the assumption that it is in fact an "Anker" battery, the fact that it is rated at 1900 mah sounds interesting. I also realize that 1900 mah probably is not real, but, can anybody state the potential downsides, if you know of any? I'm fine with it not actually having that much juice, given the price. However, if there is any potential for "damage", whatsoever, please advise. TIA...
look to see if Andida makes one for the Sensation yet. I have 2 for my HD2 from them & they work great. Paid like $10 each for them

Nice. I recently asked a question somewhere (losing track...), I'm hoping you can answer: do you have a TPU case, and if so, is the prong (male end) from the dock long enough to reach the inside of the port to make the connection? I'm thinking not, since I had to modify my case to be able to get a stock charger prong to go in far enough.

This doesn't seem like a run of the mill chinese cheap battery. Packaging looks very professional and the company itself has amazing ratings. I would say this is a pretty safe buy. Its a company that designs the batteries in canada.
And with amazon you're well proctected. Ebay tends to always back the buyer up as well, but I always felt amazon was more legit. I have no need to ugly up my phone with a massive battery, nor do I need the extended time (stock battery suits me fine) but for someone that can't shell out a lot of money this seems like a solid deal

Yes and no. I bought a Mugen from amazon, and everything went fine. It died after about 3.5 months, and Mugen wouldn't replace it because I didn't buy direct from them.
So, most reputable companies who sell direct on amazon are OK. Mugen doesn't sell direct, so avoid them on amazon.
I'd like to see how badly this battery bulges out the phone. I've seen pictures of the galaxy note with this battery, and it looks... big.
I'm willing to test it out. I placed the order and I'll report back once I get it.

The reviews for the Galaxy S2 battery are pretty good.
And there's tons of S2 users out there. So I highly doubt this company makes crap batteries

Here is my thing about batteries. Last summer when I was on the hunt for an amazing lipo battery that would make my rc car run the fastest, coolest, longest right. Well them batteries were about 60 bucks, but what I had found through my research was there were only about 4 companies world wide who produce lipo-cells, so why waste 60 bucks when I could get a 2-cell for 12 bucks. Well it only lasted the summer because I wasn't very responable with it but its perfomance was on par with the more expensive batteries and so was temp ect. It don't have to cost the most the be effective, sometimes I feel this blacknightavalon works for mugen, because I promise you people 100 for a phone battery, they seen you coming

And yeah, I've no doubt Mugen makes good batteries. But the fact that you *must* buy from them and nowhere else in order to get any sort of service makes them a bit shady.

I would never move to f**king China. Not unless they got rid of their Maoist regime. No, I just know a good battery when I'm using one, and I think the Ankers are pretty good too (as long as you order the two-pack with the wall charger).
The battery cover in the Amazon picture is clearly not for a MT4GS, but maybe it's just the stock photo they use for all this company's batteries.
Anyhow, for $20, I took a chance.
The company as a whole seems to make quality batteries, so I doubt they would skimp on our phone. And it is an actual company, not a "no name generic" battery. And as I said before, if you look up batteries for other phones from the same company, they generally have great reviews
Good point on the picture. That battery cover does not seem to fit our phone, which means the picture is a stock picture.

Could you post pictures when you get it all set up?
Personally, I'd go for a slim extended battery if they offered it, otherwise it won't work with the dock. Still, if this works well, for 20 bucks it's a no-brainer.

Their thinking is prob they wouldn't have to compete with extended batteries when it comes to the HTC One while they'd have to with the S4
Im willing to bet that the mophie for S3 was highly unsuccessful partially because of the $100 price but mainly because of the removable battery. It simply is not worth their time to build a mophie for the S4 when extended batteries are so readily available.
Didn't Samsung release a 3000mAH battery for the S3 so we can expect an official extended battery for the S4 aswell.

Not necessarily the case (pun?). We don't release information on products pre-release. This doesn't mean that we aren't working on anything at all, just that we don't have any info to pass on as of right now. However, when we do, our mophieDOTcom/newsletter (pardon the lack of direct link due to XDA policies) is where we'll pass the info along first!

Mophie,
I respect your company - you recently helped me when I got screwed by a counterfeiter... I appreciate that. I also respect your policy, but if I drop $80 on a competitor's case, even if you roll one the next day - I'm not likely to drop $100 on one of yours (which is what I want).

Why in the world would you want a battery case, especially if it costs $100?
The S4 has a user replaceable battery, buy a bigger one or an extra one. It's cheaper and way more efficient.
$40 for a 7,500 mAh zerolemon battery, which comes with a case and your phone will last 3 days with 12 hours of screen time.
If you don't want to live with the bulk get a few small batteries too.
You would still have change to buy a nice case if you needed it.
Hopefully the guys at Mophie have some common sense and don't waste their working capital to make an external battery case for the S4.

All in one solution is better for most people, but form factor is a problem. Since most of the premium cases are made for standard sizes and probably because 2600 is going to be generally enough.
The vast majority of the users will find the 2600 mah ample enough for their needs. Especially once they figure out to turn off location services via wifi and reporting to Google.
Those people who use their smart phones for more than phone calls, texts, emails, occasional web support, and here and there app support are generally okay.
It's those people who use their smart phones as gaming platforms, their ongoing wifi hotspot connection etc. In other words, of those 20 million devices sold, I'd venture to say that marketshare is small.
Then you various solutions already like people have mentioned.
I've had a morphie case before and I'm quite certain that it's protection as a case is on par or WORSE than the zerolemon backplate/case combination that gives you 7500 mah. The case solutions for the 4500 mah/5200 mah extended batteries are poor.

Legit extended battery?

hmm i came across this wonder if legit http://www.ebay.com/itm/4300mAh-780..._Phone_PDA_Batteries&var=&hash=item2ed08a5e96
Feedback's pretty good on the seller. Why not buy a set and post the results?
some company called MPJ is also selling a 4300mah one which supposedly fits with the original back cover so it might be legit.
http://www.mpjbattery.com/mpj-4300m...900-g900m-g900a-g900t-g900v-g900r4-g900p.html
How long these will last and whether they do actually give 4300mah I have no idea, its a huge jump from 2800 in the same size so you have to question exactly how they can do that when samsung doesnt. Lets face it if samsung could produce 4300 in that exact same size and quality, even if it was a slightly higher cost, they would probably do it because the phone would destroy everything else for battery life with 4300mah as stock......and this makes me very skeptical.
Ideally what we want is someone to get some of the various higher capacity batteries from various manufacturers and do a few proper tests to at least see for sure how much longer they last when in use. We still have no idea how many charge cycles you will get with it still being that high but if it lasts for a year and really does give 50% extra capacity for that year then its probably a good buy. The danger even if it gives a decent boost for a few weeks during the initial tests is that it then starts wearing off and ends up worse than a stock battery after a month or 2. There HAS to be some catch somewhere or samsung would surely make these themselves and flog them at a premium for users that want extra power.
The key for me is being able to use the original cover as I dont want extra bulk.
We have to wait and see I guess.

HMMMMMM "Best replacement for the original battery with comparable standby and talk time" say what?!? isnt the point of an extra 1500mah that it lasts a LOT LONGER, not "comparable". They also list the wrong model number, since when is it i9600. Personally wouldnt touch that with a barge pole. Also seems far too cheap to be even close to decent.

Also no NFC. At $6, it might be worth it as a spare.. but I agree their marketing is sub-par... of course it comes from China so that's to be expected... You'll see that Amazon claims 17-28 business days shipping, so it's definitely coming from either China or Hong Kong...

[Q] ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy S4 3000mAh Battery

I'm thinking about buying the ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy S4 3000mAh Battery. Any opinions? I heard zerolemon was a pretty good company but I just wanted to confirm.
I bought mine about a month a go and I can definitely feel the difference in the duration of screen-on time. I went from like 4.5 hours to 5 hours roughly. More than worth the price.

Bought my pair a few months ago. I don't remember the last time I actually plugged my phone into a charger. I just swap the batteries from the phone to the wall charger. I usually get about 15 hours of decent use, about 3.5 hours of screen time, out of each. It's a great buy.

Does this battery add any bulk, size wise I mean, to the phone? I know the weight will probably be heaver but I had an extended battery for my old Photon 4G and had to go without a case on it because of the size of the battery. I don't want to have to do that but this battery looks promising from what I see.
maybe its matter, maybe not... but note that this battery do not have NFC chip.
i also thought about to buy that battery, but for me, the lack of this NFC chip is a deal breaker.

Does this battery add any bulk, size wise I mean, to the phone? I know the weight will probably be heaver but I had an extended battery for my old Photon 4G and had to go without a case on it because of the size of the battery. I don't want to have to do that but this battery looks promising from what I see.

U will perhaps find it slightly harder to put the battery cover on, but it will fit the same way as stock. Cases wouldn't be an issue.

maybe its matter, maybe not... but note that this battery do not have NFC chip.
i also thought about to buy that battery, but for me, the lack of this NFC chip is a deal breaker.

They took nfc away so it can have a slightly higher battery capacity.
The battery very slightly bulges at the back. If you have a very very specific tight fitting case you will notice the slight inconsistancy. I had one that fit the Galaxy S4 specifically however once the battery was put in, it created a few mm gap.
I initially found the battery to add about 30 min extra however, it began to lose it capacity after a few months then became the same if not worse than the stock.
No NFC, bulge, same battery capacity wasn't worthwhile. I bought from bastexwireless and they were a pain to deal with so if you buy expect to make it a permanent purchase. I tired to contact zerolemon as well and they just gave me the runaround.

I would say the lifespan of holding its charge is pretty similar to the original samsung battery. Under heavy daily use, it would take abt 3 mths I reckon, for it to start losing its capacity bit by bit. It's just the way they are, so I would still get the zerolemon's since they are pretty cheap compared to samsung's. Over here where I live, the original samsung battery is only sold with the extra battery kit, and it costs abt 30usd. I alr got that so it would still be worthwhile for me to ship the zerolemon's over as I don't stay in the US.
Regarding bastex's customer service, I emailed them once regarding their poorly made wall charger. They responded pretty quickly and offered to send me a new one, as well as 2 new batteries since mine had alr bloated up due to months of heavy use. I guess the bloating issue pretty common. So maybe not all their staff provide quality support. [emoji41]
I just got mine this week. This is day 3 of using it. It seems to do a little better, but I'm still in the break-in phase of the battery. I like the extra weight, as it gives the phone a more substantial feel. It fits fine in my otterbox (defender series, I think). Haven't tested it in my seidio obex case yet. I used their battery with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and loved it. I expect good things with it.
I just ordered a single battery ($9.XX, with shipping). I didn't need the second battery, or that external battery charger.
Zerolemon's 7.5Ah batteries for Galaxy S4
Zerolemon's 7.5Ah batteries for Galaxy S4, I ordered 3 from e-bay with 2 chargers. The batteries are heavier than the phone and with case is more than twice as thick(deep) as original phone. Width and length are slightly larger too but not appreciably so. Big plus is am never tethered to wall and each battery will last 20+ hours of constant Internet use. Simply swap batteries after running it until <= 2%; one is typically always on charger. Phone with case/battery carries nicely in a LBT Holster.
The zerolemon wall charger is really low quality. It works (charges ur batt from zero to full in abt 4-5 hrs) for the first few weeks, and then takes longer and longer to charge.
Another alternative to never having to charge your phone on the wall is to get the official samsung extra battery kit. That charger is top notch. I got that and use it with my zerolemon's. So I don't need to deal with a huge bulky extended battery either.
It's a small bit bigger than the original battery. It makes putting on your battery cover a little bit more difficult, but not bad. I have a defender case and it makes it just a little tighter.

So far, my zero lemon 3000 mah battery isn't performing too great. I think I'm going to try and return it for another one to see if the ladder is better. I get about 4 hours of screen on time.
