Galaxy S10e Software crash - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

I have been using Galaxy S10e from 3 days now and it crash 10-11 times, it restarts automatically while using simple mobile data and start again with flash black screen with couple of options to start device.

Clearly it is faulty unit. Get the replacement.

What Tiges said, it's brand new, don't do a thing but return it for a replacement.

Oh man, sorry to read that. That sucks. Like the others have suggested, time to swap. That's really annoying.

Unfortunately when such devices are manufactured in their millions, these things happen. Same applies to all tech. But take it back and exchange it....:good:

Proximity Sensor Popping-Epic 4G- Hardware or Update Issue?

I have an unrooted stock Epic 2.2.1 with many UPDATE issues, but this issue started weeks after OTA came through, (for which I have done 2 hard resets that only brought out more issues.)
I have been having an issue with the sensor making a popping sound continously when using the touch screen and the tech replaced the chip card which helped for about 3 or 4 days.
Point of fact: the video camera had gone out too and he said they were on the same card. The new card fixed the camera permenantly.
I am searching for examples of similar issues on reputable sites like XDA to show his head tech who had never heard of it and thinks he knows everything. Has anyone else had this problem? My phone is less than 2 months old. And I do not want a refurbished replacement from using my insurance!!!
So do we think this is strictly hardware since I am on my 2nd chip, or do we think this could be update related? Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I agree with you. These phones are ****. I took my 2nd epic in to have it looked at 2 days ago because whenever i hook it up to my laptop the laptop never recognizes it and i have tried everything for a week straight. I asked everyone on XDA and tried all suggestions. When i took it in and told them what was happening the tech played around with it for about an hour and finally agreed with me that it was a hardware problem. The mico-usb port on the phone was **** and just crapped out. Needless to say he ordered me a replacement and told me to pick it up today. So i know what you are talking about with this ****ty phone having issues. I personally think that sprint and samsung should replace all epic phones with something as good in the near future when new phones come out. The EVO is not a fair replacement it is a downgrade and that is what they try and offer you when you complain. This epic is a complete failure Hardware and software wise, and they need to recognize that and fix the problem. We give these companys WAY to much money to be treated like this after buying a $250 phone.

[Q] Stuck Pixel On Nexus S (HELP!)

Hey everyone this is my first thread on xda and i was hoping if you guys could help me out. So i bought a Nexus S about 2 weeks ago.. the phones great. However, i have noticed 2 red dots on the screen- one close to the top of it, and one around the middle. They are very very small, you have to literally be a couple centimetres away from the phone to see it. I tried a pixel fixing app but that didnt work... Also i went to my carrier (wind mobile) and told them about the issue... they said the best they could do is give me a refurbished phone. I also called up samsung and they said they would give a refurbished as well. Now my question is... is there any way to fix this? If not, should i just get the refurbished phone? And shouldn't they offer me a brand new phone instead of a refurbished one? Please help! Thanks in advance.
i would just stay at least 2.75 inches away from your screen when your looking at it. just messing that would drive me crazy too. But too me it sounds like a hardware issue that probably cant be resolved with software. If its something you cant live with probably going to have to go with the refurb
That blows that when we buy brand new phones they offer us refurbished ones. It's bull**** actually.

If your only two weeks in I don't see on what grounds they refused to give u a new one. Nuke it and turn it in.

Should be able to exchange for a new phone if you are only 2 weeks in. Check the return policy.

Typically, the refurbs are like brand new. They have all the plastic stickers on and everything. While it sucks, it's better than being stuck with bad pixels.
.
So i went back to the wind store today... and since the stuck pixel was very small, they couldnt really do anything... However, they told me that if the phone's lcd gets worse they will replace it. Sounds like a good deal right? The pixel doesnt really bother me much... But what do u guys think?
That would be fine by me too. No need to start war for small, mostly cosmetic issues. Good for you! I think in matter of few weeks, you don't even notice it..

Hi!
I'm from Italy and...I've exactly the same problem!!!
2 red dots on screen, very very small on my new Nexus S (bought 2 weeks ago).
So, I decided to keep it at home! I don't want refurbished phone!
So, every day I watch if other red dots appear, I hope NO!

It's rare that more stuck pixels would appear out of nowhere. I'm sure you'll be fine.
With in the first 14 days you get a brand new phone, 15 days and up you get a refurbished. Now what most people don't know is a refurbished phone is not how they used to be back in the days (a used phone just cleaned up) now a days refurbished is a phone someone had but sent back due to them not liking it or it being the wrong phone. 9 out of 10 times the refurbished phone that you get has never been used or used for a less then a full day. When I worked for tier 2 tech for sprint the refurbished phones we sent out were phone someone ordered but got the wrong one. Say you ordered a Nexus S and we shipped you an Evo 3D, even though you never even powered on that 3D, it is now a refurbished phone. Sorry for the long post and my spelling grammar, but I been up for the past 32 hours at the hospital with my son and could really care less to spell and grammar check right now =/

[Q] Galaxy Note Issues HELP!!!!

Hi, I just switched from Iphone 3GS to galaxy note and I regretted this decision. I really like android but there are a few issues on my note. I bought a note a month ago and........
- Phone randomly shut down and had to do battery pull
- Failed to detect sim card sometimes (simcard is new)
- Sometimes battery drop at least 40% or more in one second (Should have taken more screen shots on that) Battery last for 8 hours only and phone stays in my bag from 9am to around 4pm (not in use)
- Screen issue (Black colour not even on videos photos and it is VERY noticeable)
- Sometimes freeze for 30 seconds whenever I open ANY application or surfing web
So I am sending the device back and with these many faults they refuse to replace it. They told me they will repair it but I doubt they can bring it back to 100%.
I need some advice, or has anyone else experience these many faults on their note? I am really unlucky. SIGH
You probably have a bad batch. Mine is working fine and dandy. Either get a refund and purchase a new one or get some other phone if you really hate the Note.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-2
I really liked the NOTE. I will not switch to another phone. The problem is that Mobiciti after knowing that I have these issues, they won't refund or replace, they will only repair it for 30 business days!!!!
Were u on stock firmware? If yes, ask for a replacement......those assholes wont be able to fix it!
Yes, everything is stock. I've only install a few games, viber and whatsapp and a few other entertainment apps.
I called, emailed and called to ask for a replacement but they keep telling me they won't replace it, they can only repair it. I did tell them that I am 100% positive that they won't be able to fix everything and I have to waste money for postage fee sending it again and again and still they refuse.
I won't be making any purchase from Mobiciti anymore. Service is not good.
network usually will give you 14-28 days for a swap of a handset since you got it after that you just have to read the fine print. Check also your manufacturers warranty.
I know but I contacted them within the period and they told me that they won't replace it.
I would recommend reading all your T&C's and try to shoot them down.
Thank you guys, I will first wait till they done analyzing the issue then go from there. So has anyone ever experience one of these issue?
Well I don't have the Note, but I would try do do a factory reset and a few charge/discharge cycles before turning it in.

That is probably the most hilarious battery drop i have ever seen.
You have no country listed but i assume from the provider, you come from the land down under. I know for a fact that Australia has very strict and specific laws when it comes to merchandise, regardless of where it was purchased. It seems to me that Mobi is making an issue out of the usage but at the very least you should be able to do a device swap. I would go into the store and fight with them...
Definitely you got a faulty device. No big deal, your replacement should work fine.

Sorry bout the wrong thread posting.
Yes I am from Australia.
I hope they will replace it for me. I couldn't go to the story because I am working in Melbourne and Mobiciti store is in Queensland.
I will keep everyone updated how it goes.
Sent my phone in and currently waiting for their reply.
Hi guys,
Finally an update after 3 weeks sending in the device.
Mobicity refuse to replace the device, in fact, they are looking for a suitable OS for my Note.
I don't understand why are they doing this.
Looking for a suitable OS means my device is not behaving normally and that means it is defective. Shouldn't they be replacing it instead of looking for another OS which is 90% of the time doesn't fix the issue.
I am really not satisfied with Mobicity and won't be trading with them anymore.
What do you think guys? Anyone agree with what I think?

Non-functioning display (works now) vs "Like New Certified Replacement"

So what would you do in this situation. Last Friday my touch screen stopped working. I was getting emails, texts, phone calls (could answer on car BT only), etc. Stopped in Verizon(not a repair center), they pulled battery but no go. They ordered my a rplacement. On Saturday, in prep for new phone, I pulled SIM and SD out. Powered up, and the thing works perfect. Strange huh?
With that being said, what would you do? Keep current phone, which I bought brand new, or keep and use replacement? For some reason, I don't want the refurb. The verizon guy did say that they do send out brand new ones that have the same "Like New Certified Replacement" sticker on them. Anyway to tell if its brand new or refurb? It has an 8/8/12 date on it.
I'm not trying to be rude but, can you see any defects with the phone that make you think it's a refurb? Like scuffs or anything?
If not, that as far as you can tell it's new, why does it matter? If it looks exactly like a new phone than it may be new, or a very good condition refurb. Either way it's still an S3 in "new" condition

Someone once said that any 'void warranty' type stickers on a refurb, like they put over the screw heads, are a different color then they ones on a new unit. Not sure if that is true.
It looks like its new. For some reason I feel if its a refurb, it was defective and then fixed and that is worse than my brand new I bought. Although mine seems to be defective as well.

Dude most cln new replacements this early in the game are brand new devices. Verizon has these phones in stock use common sense the phone has been out for around 2 months now millions are out there there are not enough refurbs to replace everyones defective devices. That being said even if it is a true cln device they are usually perfectly acceptable. If you have problems with it swap it for another.

use anycut to make a shortcut to RTN that will till you if it's a refurbished phone

I recently got a Refurb phone which fixed my radio issues. I'm 99% sure its brand new. You don't get a battery or a back cover and that's the only difference.

Because as stated this phone has just recently been released. There are not enough returns they simply have new devices in stock to replace defective ones. What you got was a brand new device. How are people still not getting this?

"Bra" here seems to be the authority on this topic...j/k
I guess at the end of the day, if there was a way of knowing what they sent me brand new its a no brainer. It looks like there is no way of really knowing for sure, which is no real big deal. My current phone seems to be working fine since that strange incident, but having it flake out last Friday was a nightmare. Having this for work email when out of the office is critical, so I should really just swap it to avoid the incident again.
Anycut will make short cut to veiw rtn this is what you'll see, under reconditioned mine says no

So I booted up the phone they sent me, and it says "safe mode" in the lower left corner of the screen. Did some app updates, rebooted and "safe mode" is gone. Any thoughts now on refurb or brand new? I did not boot mine original phone up myself to see if "safe mode" was there on that one. It was done by sales guy at verizon.
Now the new phone is acting really strange. While doing a google backup restore of all my apps, the phone became unresposive. Just did a battery pull, which was required, now working ok.
Could my problem be my sim card? Original problem was resolved when I booted without sim card.
i told you how to check
About 3 weeks ago I got fed up with my ridiculously poor radio and called CS. In the end they sent me a "certified replacement". My certified replacement was 100% certainly a refurb. All the micro antenna covers were missing. The Serial number sticker under battery was two times the size of original and looked like it had been printed on a 1980's dot matrix printer, and best of all, it had exactly ZERO wifi reception, probably the reason it went in in the first place. After fighting with these ignorant A$$hats at CS for another few hours, and being told a software update would repair it, I finally got them to send me another. The CS told me the same BS seen above, about how these aren’t really refurbs yet. I'm guessing the bulk of them aren't, but there sure as heck are some out there, and if mine is any example of their level of technical refurb prowess, then I would be very leery and fully test the device before accepting it as good. I ended up sending them the refurb back in it's same box. Third phone at least worked, seems new, and has marginally better radio so I guess I'm sticking with it.

Jason

Repair H810 or Refurb?

Hi all. I need help, or opinions, or both. I'm here because my husband used to tell me these forums were helpful. (Pleasebehelpful, pleasebehelpful)
I have an At&t Lg G4, the H810 model. It randomly shut itself down and refuses to start up again. It will load up to the LG logo, then shuts off and tries again. It's been doing that for a few days, as I keep hoping it will randomly make it all the way through and actually start up. I've read some of the many threads about the bootloop issues, but they all seem to be people who've been experimenting with mods.
I haven't rooted, or anything. It's still running on whatever it had when I walked out of the store with it. I've talked with At&T, and LG, and have the option to either fix it or get a refurb to replace it. I'm anxious about the refurb, as it seems that this is not an uncommon issue with the G4s. Is there a way to tell when the refurb was made, or what they've done to make it "like new?"
I'm feeling like it's a bit of a crapshoot. Last time I went through warranty replacement was with a Samsung Galaxy, and that was a hideous ordeal. Is LG better? Anybody have any experience, or sage wisdom to impart? Nifty tricks to get the thing to start back up?
TIA!
Google search "Lg g4 return to stock" and flash the h81010o firmware in the instructions. This provided you can enter download mode.
Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
That's exactly what happened to mine. It randomly shut down and now it is stuck in a bootloop. Usually it won't pass the LG splash screen, but a few times I've seen the AT&T logo briefly. Twice it showed the "Configuring apps" screen as if it had been updated. I didn't allow an OTA update but that's what it looked like.
After 20 minutes on (another) phone with tech support they decided to send a warranty replacement.
I wish I knew what was wrong but it is essentially bricked. Can't hard reboot, get to download/recovery mode or even power off.
The phone is not rooted or otherwise modded.
I just wanted you to know you're not alone. All of this just happened today.

Thanks, but not dice. There's nothing there. The only thing I could get to was the *push start and volume down buttons* factory reset mode, which then didn't do anything. Boo.

ccbutterfly--how long have you had your phone? It's a frustrating thing to have it just *pfft* like that, isn't it? I bought mine the weekend they came out in June, and having read up for a while, it looks like there's a defect in some of the phones that were made before May. Just my luck. I went for the refurb. Hope it doesn't have the same problem in a few months.
circetwo - I got it in June also. I bought it for my son's birthday on 6/29. It really was a surprise and a huge disappointment as the phone is otherwise everything we hoped it would be. I wish I had ordered one for myself instead of getting the GS6. I've had to warranty replace it after only a few months also.
Best wishes for your refurb. I hope we both have better luck this time around.
You know what really gets me is AT&T's shipping policy. My oldest son upgraded to the Note 5 this week. They sent it overnight at no extra charge. He already had a working phone, but they got the new one to him the next day. My other son had the LGG4 and when it randomly decided to be stupid they offered him expedited shipping at *our* expense. We opted for standard free shipping and he's without a phone til it gets here. That seems backwards to me.
Incidentally, I slipped his SIM card into my oldest son's *old* phone so he has something to use in the meantime. But really, doesn't it seem like the warranty replacement should be the one that gets expedited?
Okay, stepping off my soapbox now.
Hey, thanks for the info that the "May" date seems to be the key. That gives me more hope for the replacement phone.
