-Create full backup before trying
-Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik
-Install ZIP via TWRP
-Select either Phoenix kernel or stock kernel with Magisk ONLY
-If you want to use Oxygen Kernel, you have to install stock kernel first and let it boot for the first time. Then, do a dirty flash and select Oxygen Kernel and it will boot
-Let it boot for aprox 20 minutes
-Once booted, select language in start up screen and reboot the phone twice
This is done to remove lag due to being rooted with Magisk
-Complete setup

FAQ
[Q] My phone is stuck in bootloop/infinite boot, what should I do?
[A] It is normal for first instalation to take aprox 10-20 minutes on first boot, let it sit for a little bit
[Q] Even after 20 minutes, my phone is still in a bootloop/infinite boot, what can I do?
[A] It is possible that your previoius Android setup is conflicting with this new setup. Please, do the following:
1. FORMAT DATA (not WIPE, FORMAT!)
2. Try the instalation of NcX again
[Q] My phone will still not boot, what is my last resort?
[A] Please do the following:
Re-install NcX
After installation finishes, select "Save Logs"
It will save a .txt file in your memory, please post so I can review your problem
[Q] I've found a bug, what should I do
[A] Please read the "Bugs" section of the thread to see if your bug has been reported, if it hasn't, please let me know exactly what the problem is so I can take a look
[Q] My phone isn't rooted, even though I selected a root method
[A] Please make sure you root via Magisk. SuperSU is only there for testing and did not work.
[Q] The phone is going way too slow!
[A] Caused by Magisk. Just reboot the phone 2 or 3 times and the lag will be gone forever.
[Q] Something bothers me and I want it fixed/changed
[A] Please, kindly make a request and if it's within my grasp, I'll try to fix it. Just, don't be rude and demand something. Either that or return to stock, your choice

How to report a bug/Ask for a change
Over the small amount of time I've been doing my edits and shared them with the community, I've noticed something that seems to irritate me. I can't speak for all the developers on this forum, but I do edits/ROMs/PORTs/etc... to what I like. I don't work for anybody else but me. I share my work because it may have something of value to other people and/or some people may share the same taste as me on regards to what they want on a ROM.
That being said, that doesn't mean I will completely ignore what the community has to say.
First and foremost, it must be said, I am merely a beginner. I do not claim to be a professional developer that knows how to add everything, I am nowhere close and I learn as I go.
There are ways to ask for something and/or report a bug when it comes to ROMs, and this post is my attempt to try to explain how to (and how not to) report a bug in order to help me out as much as possible to try to fix something
You can also ask for something to be added, but there are also ways to ask for something
So, here we go
Keep in mind:
I do not add stuff that can easily be downloaded from the Playstore
I, myself, don't do kernel edits
I COULD remove stuff if NOBODY uses it
---REPORTING BUGS---
How NOT to report a bug:
"SystemUI (or any app)is crashing, please help!"
"Instagram doesn't allow me to edit my post, what could be wrong?"
"My bank account app is not letting me do such thing"
These posts are sort of pointless as they only state something but I have no context on what could be causing it. Also, I can't really control (for the most part) third-party apps, so if you're going to ask about them this way, don't even bother
A slightly better way to report a bug:
"I clean installed the ROM and was working fine, after I installed Facebook and logged in, I immediately uploaded a photo and SystemUI started to crash. Can you look in to it?"
"I tried to install Black Neon theme (a link to it would work as well) and it was working fine until I tried to activate AOD (or anything else for some reason) and SystemUI (or any other app) is crashing, could you look in to it?"
"My bank account app doesn't let me take a screenshot of my accounts. I get a toast notification saying "Can't take screenshot due to security policy"
As you can see, this provides a bit more context and explanation on your current situation. This gives me a little more detail on trying to replicate the problem and hopefully could fix it by replicating it. Well, except for point #3 which is out of my hands for the most part (I think). If you include what kernel you're using would make everything better! Also any significant change that would require root (like xposed and or anything that modifies /system also needs to be informed for better results)
The BEST way to report a bug:
LOGCAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please learn the ins and outs of a logcat, this really helps a lot on finding what the problem is. Also, please give a brief explanation as the above examples when providing a log cat
---ASKING FOR STUFF TO BE ADDED---
How NOT to ask for stuff:
On your next update, add iris scanner
You should add (app) on your next update
Hey, please add (app or feature) on your next update
No, I do not work for you. Even if you say please like the third example, that doesn't mean you're being polite. It still sounds like an order lol so you should probably rephrase your request.
How to ask for stuff to be added to my work:
Would you be so kind to add (feature) to your ROM, if possible?
Would it be possible to add this app to your ROM?
Please, can you add (feature) to your ROM, if it isn't much to ask?
See how politeness makes everything better? You're not demanding it, you're just politely asking to see if maybe it is within my grasp to add something. And if all request would be like this, I can assure you I'd try my best to add said feature
I hope this is useful to you or I at least hope that some people read it.
If not, I can just tell you to return to stock ROM, probably better than any ROM I put out anyway
Awesome work! The ROM works flawlessly on my J600F.
Good luck with this one!

Ah ok this is the one will give feedback soon
A must have rom unfortunately it corrupts efs (Unknown baseband and hardware version) if i installed xposed systemless which is a very important part of my daily usage luckily i got my efs backup. Also theres a minor bug in offline charging animation.
Last test now i found out the problem its not xposed making baseband corrupted its the selinux thing because it triggers when i installed viperfx which needs enforcing the rom itself has fake enforcing..

Revolution ROM for J6 (2018)
It all starts here
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about flashing this zip file
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. HARD!
DO NOT TAKE MY STUFF WITHOUT PERMISSION!
YOU WILL BE REPORTED BY DOING SO
Introducing, my very first direct S9 port!
So, you decided to buy this phone, huh? Maybe you had no choice, maybe you only saw "octa-core chip" and jumped all over it, or maybe you just assumed that you would just download ROMs from XDA to make this device better since all other devices contain ROMs on this forum by the truck loads.
Then you get to the sad realization that generally speaking, this phone is really bad and no developer would want to buy this 2018 device with a 2016 processor and barely any sensors lol
Well, I hope I can at least ease a bit of that pain with this ROM. I am no master developer, but at least I know my development a-b-c's... but just barely.
So, it is only fair to warn you the following (aside from that giant disclaimer at the beginning of the thread lol):
If you are expecting this device to run as smooth as an S9 phone, have the expectation to download this ROM to improve your battery life by 50% , are expecting this ROM to run Fortnite at the highest settings possible as an actual S9 would or even expect the Benchmark scores like Antutu to increase, THEN STOP! STAY IN STOCK ROM!
AS I STATED, I AM NO MASTER DEVELOPER, MY KNOWLEDGE ONLY EXTENDS TO FRAMEWORK EDITING, I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ON KERNEL TWEAKING
And even if a dev tweaked the kernel to run faster, I doubt any of the above would happen, lower your expectations you're not dealing with a high end device
OK, rant out of the way. Let's get started!
Supported variant: SM-J600G (I do not know if this will run on any other variant, if you decide to try please give me feedback so I can update post)
Features:
*S9 Firmware
*Edge panels
*Edge lighting
*Smart select
*GIF recording
*Smart stay
*S9 Multiwindow (Pop-up view action)
*Open notifications in multiwindow mode
*Smart capture
*Scroll capture
*Infinity wallpapers
*And I think for the most part, all the features that the J6 offers by default
*More to come, of course
ROM Info:
*Based on S9 firmware G960FXXS2BRJ6
*Deodexed
*Zipaligned
*Busybox
*Slightly debloated
*Rooted with Magisk
Bugs:
*Mobile Hotspot does not work
*Phone lags at the initial boot due to being rooted with Magisk. To fix this, you just have to reboot upon getting to welcome screen
*Resolution looks a bit blurry. To fix this, just go to Settings->Display Settings->Resolution and change resolution to WQHD+, apply and the change back to HD+ and apply. Then the bug is fixed.
*This is initial release, expect bugs other than these mentioned. Please report if you find more
*AOD: Does not work at the moment
*Currently does not work with 2 SIMs inserted [FIXED]: Thanks for tutorial to BlackMesa123 here and thanks to @corsicanu for discovery
Changelog:
*13/12/20108 V1.0*
Initial release

I am the complete opposite
I like the Samsung stuffs
Stock OneUI Release for J6
So, a couple of days ago OneUI was released for the SM-J600F. I simply took the ROM and made it flashable via ZIP
This is JUST STOCK ONEUI """OFFICIAL""" for the J6, DO NOT EXPECT EXTRA FEATURES!
Also, I debloated it lol
BUT
I want to make something clear. If you have not read this and this allow me to summarize
Pie brings new locks to the table, something far worse than rmm lock. If you flash Pie officially, either via OTA or via Odin, these new locks will prevent you from rooting, as I understand it.
The workaround is to flash Pie but with Oreo BL.
BUT
We don't know how long that will keep working
Samsung can easily make Pie only boot with Pie BL.
So... for now... DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR BOOTLOADER TO PIE YET OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ROOT OR FLASH CUSTOM BINARY ANYMORE!
And this is where this zip comes in handy!
This ZIP will not change your BL (it will keep your Oreo BL) and included is a kernel (Helios Pie kernel) that fixes small issues. Also, if anything were to go wrong, you still have TWRP to backup and restore, how awesome is that?

2. Try the instalation of the ROM again
[Q] I've found a bug, what should I do
[A] Please read the "Bugs" section of the thread to see if your bug has been reported, if it hasn't, please let me know exactly what the problem is so I can take a look
[Q] My phone isn't rooted
[A] This ROM has Magisk pre-packaged. If you do not see Magisk Manager, just download the latest version of it in xda

Enjoy Pie
Yes its working
You should tell that vendor will be also replaced.

battery drains faster then stock oreo rom ? do you find any other bug ? camera works good ? can you check please if camera is flickering while taking photo to computer monitor or tv ?
Battery takes about 2 cycles to stabilize. My first testers and me did notice higher than normal drain but then reduced the drain a lot.

Just so you know guys, I am constantly trying to fix bugs on this. My porting skills are not very good when it comes to odexed software lol
So I hope to make this port better over time.
H-ROM updated to V2 which adds stability and a few features I had previously removed.
Also it fixed face unlock oh and now, secure folder works. You just need to flash this: Secure Folder patch
Please give thanks to the post for making this zip to fix Secure Folder in this ROM
Enjoy!

I am looking forward to install this rom on my device but there are some things holding me back, specifically, how much unstable is the wifi?does it usually disconnect or something like that?or it does that not so usually? The second thing that's holding me back is that,my laptop has a corrupted hard drive, and because I am on vacation I cannot replace it at this time, but I can only run lubuntu (light ubuntu) on my laptop from a USB. So,if I actually want to flash this rom,as you may know Odin doesn't work on linux,is there any other way I could root my device and flash twrp? Thanks for reading

Well, honestly I've never had problems with WiFi. I only had to include it in the thread because it was reported on the original H ROM.
I can tell you with confidence that my WiFi has worked perfect.
When using any type of linux, you can use Heimdall instead of Odin
Thank you dude!! im testing the rom now:
Bugs:
1. Battery Drain (or bad battery performance).
2. The Rom is slower/laggy in multitask.

Unable to Set Screen Lock
Flashed the files according to the instructions, the vendor is amazing (thanks a lot) however when i try to set a screen lock i get "Screen Lock was already changed. Try again with the new screen lock." and my lock screen type automatically becomes swipe. I factory reset my phone again, as well as did everything from start since i thought i went somewhere wrong but i still get this error. Any help would be appreciated.
Im using Havoc-Os 3.6 (The 13 Jun build iirc) with pico gapps.

Hey @Astrako, I wanna address this issue as well... Firstly, I've been using your crDroid build from the day you posted it... and it's fabulous....everything works perfectly and flawlessly....no sound issues, nothing..... The screen on time and standby time has drastically improved.... A lots of thanks for this Gsi build... But when I tried other Android 10 arm64 A/B GSIs, using the H-vendor, all worked fine, except the sounds and let me clear that only the call volume is working , but the media, notification, and alarm sound doesn't work. The second issue is with the screen lock. Nothing other than swipe is allowed and gives an error "Screen lock was already changed" whenever I try to change it. Please tell how to fix it... Thanks in advance for your attention . I am looking for your reply.

Found a fix for SM-J701X speaker not working
Hey, after thinkering for a couples hours, i found the problem with the speaker not working with this vendor on the SM-J701X. :victory::victory:
In the .zip archive the Mixer_Path.xml is missing from H\device\j7velte\vendor\etc\. The one already in H-VENDOR_V1.0.zip\vendor\etc\ has the speaker commented everywhere.
After adding it, reflashing gsi and the H-Vendor it's working.
I'll leave a link to the Mixer_Path.xml i used if you dont have it already.

Do we have a fix for the lockscreen? it gives an error "Screen lock was already changed". whenever i try to change the lockscreen to pin, password.

Hello.
[Refurbished Samsung A3 2017 / SM-A320FL / latest 8.0.0 stock ROM / security patch 2020.04 from device's updater]
Code:
a3y17lte:/ $ getprop ro.treble.enabled
false
So, it seems I need H-Vendor...
Those coming from stock Samsung firmware have to format the data partition

Am I understanding well ? I need to:
- flash a custom recovery.img (--no-reboot)
- format data partition,
- clean flash (full wipe) an arm64 A/B GSI.img (don't reboot),
- flash H-Vendor.zip,
- then reboot.
No more steps ? (I don't need gapps)
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: may I use first your repartitioner script ?

Volte working
THANKS :good::good::good::good:
Thank you so much and thumbs up for this great work you did . ????????
Thanks For Your Hardwork...
and i want to tell a bug that camera is crashing and keep stopping
Thanks so much.....
Great work:laugh::good:
..... but ... I HAVE PROPLEM.....
I can't delete apps using link2sd .... is there any solutions .. ????? ...
Here I have listed three bugs I faced while using this rom, Hope the admin of this rom will improve this in H ROM 3.0 ...
1)
Volte is just for show in this rom , If you are using jio sim or any other sim that uses volte and you have to make or recieve calls , then don't download this rom .
What's the issue : Their is only volte icon but when you are going to call someone or recieve any calls using VOLTE then your network goes down and the call end suddenly .
I haven't faced this issue in stock ONE UI 2.0 , but only faced with this rom and other GSI's available for J6 or ON6 .
So if you want to call someone or have to receive others call using VOLTE then this rom is not for you.
You can still send or recieve messages or Use your mobile data and their is not Issues in it.
2)
The Camera app is crashing when you click on filters mode or sometimes randomly , otherwise no bugs in it yet.
3)
If you will compare the speed test of this with havoc or evolutionx gsi's then you will find that this rom is too much slower in comparison to them.
Summary of Bugs detected:
1) VOLTE is not working for calls in stock dialer app, I didn't tried it with "Jio call app"(India) which basically allows support of volte for phones without volte for jio sims.
2) Camera is crashing when you click on filters or sometimes randomly too.
3) This rom is very slow as compared to other gsi's .
4) Other kernals like kraken or vendors doesn't boot up your system (well that's not neccessary but I included it)
If the developer will fix Volte then I will continue using this rom , I left is majorly cause I can't call or recieve someone's call, cause of volte issue I flashed it back to stock rom.
Btw I use ON6 (J600GF), its basically Indian version of J6
Cheers

1st - This is not the way to report a bug to someone, if you want a bug fixed, provide logs and ask educately.
2nd - Camera works fine, doesn't crash and if it's crashing for you it's probably your fault that has done something wrong.
3rd - This rom is not a GSI, so shouldn't be compared with any kind of GSI, also it's not an AOSP ROM, this is an Oneui 2.1 port from s20 which is a powerful device and has an heavy system, the rom is good for what it's intended for. It's fast and stable and has plenty of feature.
Learn how to give feedback of stuffs, don't be rude, the dev is not doing that cuz he likes you or cuz he owns you something, he made the rom cuz he wanted, he's not being paid, so be edcated.
What about volte if it's s20 port so volte should work on this rom
If I wrote something rudely so sorry about that, but I was just sharing what issues I was facing in this rom compared to the other I have installed and I can't provide log for VOLTE issue as I don't know how to provide it , if you have VOLTE sim then you will maybe face the similar problem.
Also I created this account solely for this rom itself as I thought the VOLTE problem could be fixed by the dev if I told the issue.
Peace .

The H-Rom 1.0 on Samsung Galaxy J600-FN after flashing and reboot the phone just bootlops on Samsung mark btw the H-Rom 2.0 boots but after 30 minutes or bench with antutu simple the phone reboots itself. I'm gona to reinstall to see if this happen and if happens i'm gona to send the loggat.
Thanks to release! (sorry for my bad english and i like the s20 camera waterark  )
@Astrako First of all Congratulations! And Thanks a lot for releasing such a good ROM.
But Calling is broken on J6. Yes the issue is not VoLTE but Calling. I have tested calling on both VoLTE and 3G network.
If I am making a call to a person he/she gets the call but the call gets disconnected before that person answers. Also, the dialer screen shows that Aeroplane mode is on, though it's not.
If I am getting a call then there is no sound heard on either of the sides.
And I even replaced odm with csc but it didn't helped. And I even tested calls after replacing odm with csc on VoLTE and 3G network.
And is it possible to remove blur from the UI??

Yes that was the issue I was talking about, hope the developer found a fix for that
I'm not in India to test or to make judgments or any prejudices about this beautiful work but the only thing I know I own a J600GF which works and responds very fine with this S20 OneUI 2.1 port works like a charm.
The thing I know since I changed to this custom ROM I feels free like a bird it unlocks many things for my carrier. Thanks to the @Astarko thank you so much ?????????

I have a question.
Then Does VoLTE work?
Hello! Does voice command not work on this ROM? For me Voice Match is greyed out, I can't enable it! I would like to use "Ok Google".
You should edit this rom once because...
Why "Kill itself and reboot" happens in my phone only if I Install s20 or a7 v4 rom, also j6q rom.
Most variants of j6 don't occur it, but some of variants of j6 happen it.
You may not be able to understand what "Kill itself and reboot" I'm talking about is.
but I wish you try to understand about this problem as long as you can.
