So im thinking if its possible in custom rom too or if we have to revert back to miui to get this and if we will get the certification in custom rom too

Flash 9.2.25, connect to the internet, stay 5 -10 minutes, check with drm info when L1 appears. Afterwards, when you flash a custom rom, L1 is there

So one needs to be in miui for it to work. Can you give the link of 9.2.25 firmware I'll update the Op

Do not flash 9.2.25 firmware yet. It can cause issues to the custom rom (Like HavocOS v2.2). Wait until the developer of a custom rom creates new update that can integrate and fully supports the Widevine L1 in the rom. There might be changes in the /vendor partition that the rom cannot fully supports.

PS
Currently, Amazon Prime & Hotstar can both stream content in 1080P on your POCO phone. Unfortunately, Netflix is still not on board with but you can still download videos in best quality.

For me only hotstar is working. No HD in Netflix and Prime video.

How about the Xiaomi.eu beta roms?
Do they include the full vendor as they are based on xiaomi beta roms?
Or is flashing the original beta required?

Im searching for a way to gain this without flashing whole miui over again will update thread when found

It depends on how many costumizations you prefer. LineageOS and Pixel Experience do not have many extra features, while e.g. RR, Arrow and Havoc do. I experienced very few bugs in PE and LOS, but I haven't tried other custom roms. LOS has very clear installation instructions, which are also applicable to most other custom roms: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/polaris/install
We have an official TWRP version; you can find the instructions and download link on https://twrp.me.
Thanks
I just want to try a new look on my phone. Ill install those roms soon, is it ok to back up this current miui im using if i dont like the rom i installed right?
Yes, but some users (including me) reported failures of restoring full rom backups. So make sure you also use some alternative backup (e.g. the Migrate app) and save your backup files on an external device.
Use a full backup with TWRP. It worked for me every time. However there is a bug with phone protection (unlock code or fingerprint) - and you have to delete it manually in TWRP file manager.
But everything works fine.

You can still receive OTA updates on the unlocked bootloader as long as you are using official Mi rom and you do not have twrp installed. TWRP may break OTA updates. At best case an OTA will just replace your twrp with stock recovery. Root also should not affect OTA updates. So no problem getting ota even if bootloader is unlocked as far as I am aware of

2nd attempt to upgrade to 12.2.4.0 from 12.0.4.0 failed and resulting in storage wipe

Hi,
I would like to know if anybody encountered this. This is my second time encountering this issue. I was on 12.0.4 and received a notification to perform update to 12.4.0. After downloading and rebooting, my twrp launched and after a few seconds instead of flashing, it went to the main menu page. After that, the phone just goes to fastboot mode and refused to boot. My phone has been rooted with magisk. Much appreciated for experts inputs.
The only way for me to boot my phone is to do a clean flash using mi flash tool and fallback to the old version...
Thank you.

V12.0.4.0.QJKMIXM is a android 10 stable rom and V12.2.4.0.RJKMIXM is a android 11 stable beta rom which has many bugs.
V12.2.4.0.RJKEUXM is a stable rom that you can flash with miflash(but EEA not global).
After successfully going to v12.2.4.0, now I am finding that my current TWRP 3.4.1b unable to decrypt the phone thus not able to root it. I guess I have to fall back to 12.0.4.0 to be safe... I was tempted to go to 12.2.4.0 due to android 11 but looks like it's too problematic now due to beta. I was actually wondering why beta was pushed to me.

Yes i am able to successfully flashed twrp via fastboot afterward and directly proceed to root using magisk.
Everything works as usual, except, for me atleast, twrp now require pattern-type (3x3 dot) as password for decryption. Pin or character doesnt works.

To solve update problem you need to Rollback to stable stock rom, I used this:
Code:

extracted it.
then used mi flash from this toolkit:

sorry, but I cant provide links to downloads.

Question Flashing Global Rom in an indian version phone

I recently flashed miui v12.0.6 global rom in my indian version POCO X3 Pro.But after boot it says your device is not google play protect certified.I am not able to use or install any google apps. Why this happened? If i flash other region rom in my POCO X3 Pro i will not able use google apps?
If your bootloader is unlocked right now, it means you're not passing SafetyNet, and that also affects Play Store certification. To fix this, you need to install Magisk, hide Magisk Manager and enable MagiskHide; as well as install the SafetyNet Fix module from here: https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases
I selected clean all and lock.that means my bootloader is locked now.
when I flash indian rom google play works properly. But if i try other region rom it gets the same error.
Do you still pass SafetyNet in this state?
Yes,passes safetynet in indian rom but fails in global rom.I used official method(fastboot rom)

I think the official MIUI ROMs and Google play can distinguish between device regions, though I don't know how. (Most likely due to people buying China devices and try to get global rom, so they do this)
If you flash other official ROMs from other region (say, Indian device with eea/global rom), it will always be consider as "third party" installation, so it will not pass safetynet. (you can't do this with the official "mi-recovery" I assume.)
To make the different region rom pass safetynet, you need help with magisk and modules as urbanman2004 said.

Widevine leve L3 after installing Custom Rom Lineage OS 18.1

Yo guys, hope you are having an awesome day!
So the other day I rooted my phone, installed TWRP and installed Lineage OS 18.1 on my Oneplus 6..
The thing is - Now I realize that the Widevine level has been downgrade from L1 to L3 so apps which are crucial to me stopped working.
I have a couple of questions regarding this:
1. I understand that the mere unlocking of the the bootloader killed my drm keys. If that's so, is there an option to Unbrick my phone back to oOS , copy the drm keys (and everything related to widevine) --> Install custom rom and paste all the keys to their respected location thus having the DRM keys of a "locked" bootloader on my custom ROM?
2. Is there an Oneplus 6 Rom, based on android 11, that somehow has access to DRM keys and would give me both the benefit of Android 11 and Widevine leve L1?
3. Is there any way to fix the L3 level on my current rom? an app/module/anything that can take me back from L3 to L1?
thanks!
That will not happen. Stay on locked bootloader and OOS if L1 is a big deal to you.
I tried every rom and each time i lose widevine

You simply can't have Widevine L1 on custom ROM's, you should go back to OOS and lock the bootloader again if it's that important to you.

"Steps to go enable Widevine L1 on custom ROMs :-
• Flash OOS 11 stable or any build from OB3 and above.
• Flash Magisk and enable Magisk hide.
• Reboot.
• Verify if you have L1 working using app like DRM info.
• Local upgrade OOS 11 stable or any build from OB3 and above (preferably same build).
• Reboot.
• Verify if you have L1 working using app like DRM info.
• Flash custom ROM and you should have L1 there as well."

No need for Twrp, which will only flash a recovery rom.
Install rom:

Does not relock the bootloader(brick).
With a stock rom the play store will not be certified.

The recovery rom is used for an update or troubleshooting and only contains the imgs needed to start the phone, while the fastboot rom contains all the imgs, hence the different size.
But I advise you to install a Xiaomi Eu rom which will have the play store certified without root and more functions than the stocks.
If you flash a stock ROM, you will need to root and use Magisk hide to have the play store certified and use banking apps for example.
