Widevine leve L3 after installing Custom Rom Lineage OS 18.1 - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Yo guys, hope you are having an awesome day!
So the other day I rooted my phone, installed TWRP and installed Lineage OS 18.1 on my Oneplus 6..
The thing is - Now I realize that the Widevine level has been downgrade from L1 to L3 so apps which are crucial to me stopped working.
I have a couple of questions regarding this:
1. I understand that the mere unlocking of the the bootloader killed my drm keys. If that's so, is there an option to Unbrick my phone back to oOS , copy the drm keys (and everything related to widevine) --> Install custom rom and paste all the keys to their respected location thus having the DRM keys of a "locked" bootloader on my custom ROM?
2. Is there an Oneplus 6 Rom, based on android 11, that somehow has access to DRM keys and would give me both the benefit of Android 11 and Widevine leve L1?
3. Is there any way to fix the L3 level on my current rom? an app/module/anything that can take me back from L3 to L1?
thanks!

That will not happen. Stay on locked bootloader and OOS if L1 is a big deal to you.

I tried every rom and each time i lose widevine

You simply can't have Widevine L1 on custom ROM's, you should go back to OOS and lock the bootloader again if it's that important to you.

K...
Thanks guys!

Mine OP7 Pro stayed on Widevine L1 on Lineage OS18.1.
I had followed below steps but first of I had unlocked the bootloader.
"Steps to go enable Widevine L1 on custom ROMs :-
• Flash OOS 11 stable or any build from OB3 and above.
• Flash Magisk and enable Magisk hide.
• Reboot.
• Verify if you have L1 working using app like DRM info.
• Local upgrade OOS 11 stable or any build from OB3 and above (preferably same build).
• Reboot.
• Verify if you have L1 working using app like DRM info.
• Flash custom ROM and you should have L1 there as well."
[ROM][OFFICIAL][guacamole][11] LineageOS 18.1
Has anyone tried this ROM with Micro G? I am running Lineage 17 Micro G on my OnePlus 6t and battery is amazing!

Different device, different outcome.
Your method sadly won't work on the OP6/T.

The Latest Miui beta brings Widewine L1 certification for poco f1 https://www-xda--developers-com.cdn...ers.com/xiaomi-poco-f1-widevine-l1-miui-beta/
So im thinking if its possible in custom rom too or if we have to revert back to miui to get this and if we will get the certification in custom rom too

Flash 9.2.25, connect to the internet, stay 5 -10 minutes, check with drm info when L1 appears. Afterwards, when you flash a custom rom, L1 is there

So one needs to be in miui for it to work. Can you give the link of 9.2.25 firmware I'll update the Op
Do not flash 9.2.25 firmware yet. It can cause issues to the custom rom (Like HavocOS v2.2). Wait until the developer of a custom rom creates new update that can integrate and fully supports the Widevine L1 in the rom. There might be changes in the /vendor partition that the rom cannot fully supports.

PS
Currently, Amazon Prime & Hotstar can both stream content in 1080P on your POCO phone. Unfortunately, Netflix is still not on board with but you can still download videos in best quality.
For me only hotstar is working. No HD in Netflix and Prime video.

You can get L1 on custom ROMs just fine. You must wipe then flash MIUI beta first then wipe and flash custom ROM. I'm on PE CAF, L1 is working.

You need to flash the rom itself, not just vendor.

How about the Xiaomi.eu beta roms?
Do they include the full vendor as they are based on xiaomi beta roms?
Or is flashing the original beta required?
Im searching for a way to gain this without flashing whole miui over again will update thread when found

Root with locked bootloader

Hello everyone,
I am currently on OOS 10 + TWRP + Magisk v20.1 with successfull securitynet test.
Buuut, my problem is that I can't watch Netflix in HD because of Widevine L3 level.
So my question is : If I preinstall my phone and lock the bootloader, will I be able to flash and use Magisk because I need it.
Thanks you.
No

Redmi note 7 pro Vidvivne L1 certificate lost after flashing custom ROM

I flashed custom in my RN7pro, but i didn't like the rom & came back to stick miui 11 rom. Now Vidvivne L1 showing L3. I flashed many stock versions of miui 10 & 11 but still only L3. Can you share how to get back Vidvivne L1 back in my RN7pro.
You can't get L1 certificate on bootloader unlocked devices.
will I get L1 certificate if I locked the bootloader
no I don't think so you get the l1 even if the bootloader is on lock because also unlocked and flash different rom the persist partition has changed

Widevine L1 with OOS 10

I am trying to understand how Widevine L1 retention works now:
Let's assume the bl has been unlocked on OOS 11:
OOS 11 -> L1
custom android 11/12 rom -> L1
custom andoird 10 rom -> ?
OOS 10 (custom rom via TWRP) -> ?
Basically, is it the version of android that still reads it as L1 or L3, or it intrisic to the phone and any rom would work.
I am trying to get to a rooted custom kernel OOS 10 with L1.
Thanks
OOS 10 is always L3. Did you fix it?

Question Unlock bootloader Oneplus 9 Global/NA

Has anyone unlocked the bootloader on oneplus 9 global? how to not lose Widevine L1, because I have tried many times but every time I unlock the bootloader my Oneplus 9 always loses L1 and it changes to L3
AFAIK there's no way to keep L1 while the bootloader is unlocked.

Yes. I'm unlocked and L1. You have to use magisk and zygisk to hide . Then l1 occurs.

Oh i didn't know that. Thanks
Yeah I have Widevine L1. I rooted C.48 global with Magisk 24.3, hid Magisk, installed Shamiko (because it's better than denylist), and installed Universal SafetyNet Fix.

This is for the 9 Pro but it's the same process (you will want to check both the 9 and 9 Pro forums because the 9 Pro is more active and devs will often just drop their thread there for both devices).
