YouTube Vanced - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

Hello, I installed Youtube Vanced and it worked for a few days. Any idea why it stopped working? I'm still using magisk v17.3.

Use the non root version from xda labs, that works for me without any issues.

Uninstall updates for YouTube then disable updating for it in the play store.
Vanced should keep working now.

install masgisk 18.1 for mix 3 is better

Do i have to uninstall the original Youtube app before I install the vanced version? My Mix 3 is unrooted!
Another question, is the App compatible with my Fire HD 10 (2017). I use most of the time the tablet to watch Videos

No need to try it if your phone is unrooted. Vanced only works with magisk and root.

when using youtube vanced does anyone have the resolution start at 144p then have to manual change it? I read somewhere this is just a bug with the non-rooted version

I use a custom kernel (AndroPlus 0.9), wiht this you will be able to run vanced normally also you can mess with /system as you wish (i use elixir-system for widgets) also e-robot will run smoothly

Xposed framework

Anybody know if this is available yet for our phone. I used to have this and it was great. I especially liked it for allowing YouTube to play in the background.

Yes, as long as you're rooted with Magisk. Download the SDK 26 framework version if you're on Oreo.
If you're only interested in background playing for YouTube, there is a Magisk module for that, too, so you wouldn't need Xposed. I'm only running it for GravityBox so I couid change a few SystemUI components.
Additional info from the screenshots. Check the official Magisk and Xposed XDA threads for any downloads you may need.

Seems the magisk module isn't working to keep YouTube open in the background. I'll try the xposed now.

Strange... Works fine on my end. You may need to fully uninstall YouTube first, then install the Magisk module and reboot. A reboot after uninstalling YouTube may be helpful, too. Also, when I install an updated LeeDroid ROM, I choose not to install YouTube during the Aroma setup process. Then through Magisk, I install the background YouTube module.
You can use Firefox with this plugin:

Also you can use Firefox in desktop version to let Youtube run in background.

what is the best way to delete the store one?
Uninstall any updates from Youtube and disable auto-updating of Youtube (Play Store - Youtube - 3 dots top right) then install the Vanced from Magisk Manager. Reboot. Don't update YouTube from Play Store anymore.

Get a root system app remover such as 'system app remover' from store and delete the original version. Also as mentioned you can turn off auto update but if you have deleted via root it shouldn't update any ways.

Swift Installer

I´ve flashed Swift Installer got some issues I haven´t had on my OP6. The first issue is that Contacts cannot be themed. Secondly Settings can be themed but then, after having themed Settings, when I like to go to my Accounts and activate Automatically Sync Data, tapping Google then Account Sync it crashes.
Is anyone else facing those issues? How can I make both Contacts and Settings being themed? Or is it related to the new OP7pro system and Swift Installer has to be updated? I´ve got the same issues using Substratum and Swift Black.
I am having the same issues and more... Some of the settings pages have a white header background and some crash. I don't use the OP phone and contact apps but rather use the Google versions.
I sent a detailed email to the author and suspect we shall see updates to these modified apps on the 7 pro soon.
Yep, same here

Didn't work for me either. Running swift black via substratum now and it's fine
FYI: Swift Installer's just updated and is supporting now OP7Pro. Everything's working now as it should.

Thanks for posting. Only thing it's not applying the theme to for me is the Play Store.
Hi guys, I am having issues when trying to theme anything on my device.
I have tried substatum and swift installer with no luck - never together.
I am rooted with latest Magisk 19.3, running 9.5.10.
Everything works perfectly on the device and I have also granted root access to swift installer.
The magisk module, is correctly installed and activated.
When I make a change in swift app, I reboot, then it asks for another reboot and after that no theming is in place, inside swift all selected apps shows as active. Cannot change accent colours or enable dark notifications.
I have reached out to the telegram support with not much success.
Any thoughts?

Hey @geovass,
I have the exact same issue! The apps just won't theme for me.
Also using the OP7 Pro with OxygenOS 9.5.10.GM21BA

I had to factory reset the device and setup from scratch. Now most of the apps are getting themed (play store and WhatsApp doesn't work) + I have dark notifications!

Hello,
it seems like that my Magisk modules are not working, even after re-installing Magisk. That's why the Swift Installer isn't working either for me.
Can anybody assist me here? I need to fix Magisk somehow.. the root itself is completely successful and works. It's just about Magisk, and I got no clue why.
For me going to app info for any app crashes it.

Disable YouTube updates

I've installed YouTube vanced via magisk manager but before I've removed the YouTube system app via titanium backup.
YouTube vanced works great but I've always a YouTube update notification in the PlayStore also if I disabled automatic updates for the app.
Is there a way to hide the notification for the app?
I just want to hit "update all' button to update all my apps except for YouTube.
Inviato dal mio GM1913 utilizzando Tapatalk
Detach from Magisk Repo or Titanium Backup
I had the exact same thing the other day. Titanium doesn't work as after a few hours the notification will reappear
read the vanced description in magisk it tells you that you can add an enable_detach file in the cache folder to detach.
for me, this has created problems sometimes so i've stopped doing it.

Once you do that, you can click update all, a window will pop-up, tap Skip.
Now all apps will be updated, EXCEPT YouTube ;]
The detach facility is buggy as hell.
I just use the non-root version with MicroG and disable the pre-installed app.

[Request] Phone APK

Hi there.
Can anyone provide me the stock Phone APK? I have the european version without root.
I installed, by mistake, the Phone APK of APKMirror which is not on the android version target.
Thanks in advance.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-phone/
The version you need should be in the list.
v4.1.0 came stock on my 7 Pro.

The v4.4.0 is the one what I have installed which doesnt follow the theme (color, light, dark) of the settings (for example) and first time when I installed does FC after checking the settings optiom on the Phone APK.
The goal of the thread is to try if I can fix by installing the default one and not to be forced to reinstall the ROM or root the Phone.
PD: I have installed the Google Phone modified that is working without magisk but would be fine try to fix the default APK.
Ty for the replies.
Ok so just disable the Phone application and it will remove any installed updates.
Then re-enable and you will be back at stock.

I did that the first time after installing the APK (or I think I dit it) but after reading your comment, I tried again and its works .
Now the phone apk seems to be the factory one.
Thanks for the help.
