Incoming gsm/lte phone connection priority over other communicators audio connections - Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus Questions & Answers

HI all,
My gf's phone behaves in a really strange way...
During an audio call using common communicators, say skype, whatsapp, messenger, if a new incoming gsm/lte connection is coming, then it automatically takes priority over communicator call. Communicator call is put on hold.
What is most annoying, is that you are not able to inform the person on other side of the line that there is a new incoming connection - no, the second incoming connection is appearing on screen, current connection is put on hold. To clarify, user can chose whether to accept or cancel new incoming call, but the 'communicator' call is already on hold;(
I find this most annoying coming from iphone environment, where I have full control on all live and incoming connections and where no connection is prioritised. When im on a whatsapp audio call and a regular gsm connection is coming, I can let other person know that I have incoming connection and decide to answer, cancel or put current call on call. I find this rather normal behaviour. Unfortunately this is not the case on my gf's phone which drives me nuts
Please let me know if this is case of specific ROM, or android os in general? I hope you could guide me toward an easy solution, hopefully not requiring reinstalling new rom. Many thanks!
Phone is running MIUI Global 10.2.1.0, Android 8.0.0.

Skype for WIndows Mobile

Has anyone had any luck with getting this to work well? Seems to always be like a delay on a call like when you call a country far away and you have to wait a few seconds to respond, but if I call via skype on a PC to the same skype user it's fine..
Also it seems by default the sound comes out of the back speaker rather than the ear piece, any way to change that?
I never tried to make any international call but it work's fine when I call to my home city (~300 km away from my location).
Regarding the sound,
this tool redirects the sound correctly where you want it, it can be found in the "Cabs repository"-thread but here's the link:

I've used it for both WM to PC and WM to landline, the connection to the PC was much better but I haven't have significant delay when calling landlines. I find that it can vary quite a bit, it probably depends on the amount of people online as well as other factors. On the rare occasion when I had a little delay, I hung up, called again and it was gone. Most of these calls were from UK to HK.
Another thing that annoyed me was the fact that the screen was still active during the call and as I was holding it to my face it pressed random things. If you try to press the END key it will turn off the screen as well as the Wifi connection (which I was using to make the call). So instead, I solved this by pressing the start menu then locking it.
I use Fring for skype calls mainly because I can use the main front speaker (change this in Fring options), works great.

[Q]Tcp stuck during GSM call?

Hello,
I've encouneterd a strange problem, and maybe some of you know the answer.
I wrote a WIN32 app, which uses TCP sockets (on Htc HD2).
It works great, but when the user is making a GSM call, the TCP sockets won't receive any data during that call. How can I solve it? I want to get data also when the user is during a very long GSM call.
I also use TAPI to get notification about the GSM calls, but I don't think that the problem is caused by the TAPI.
Has anyone encountered this kind of problem?
Thanks,
Emil.
By the way, all of the data is kind of queued inside the socket during the call, because as soon as the call ends, all of the data that was send during the call -is received immediately.
You need 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) connection to be able to transfer data during a call. GSM does not support that
But I do have HSDPA connection. Even while during the call it seems that the connection is still turned on (I know it, because the incoming messages are queued and I get them as soon as the call ends)

[Q] Route calls through second Android via internet

Here's the endpoint - I want to have an internet connected device in my hand that can make and receive calls and send and receive texts, regardless of whether I have mobile coverage. As long as it's on the internet, I want to be able to use it as a regular phone.
I'm halfway there.
I have an Android phone with my primary number, plugged in and connected to WiFi in my flat, a good mobile signal area. I can install MySMS on it to handle texts, then the tablet app on the device I keep with me. That's SMS sorted.
What I need is some way of making a voice call over the internet to that handset, and routing that out via my cellular provider. And automatically routing incoming calls over the internet to the portable one, or if I'm making a cellular call, have the caller ID display the number of the phone in the flat.
Basically, I think I want to turn an Android phone into a Google Voice server, just for my use.
Can this be done?
Thanks
looking for the same. have you found something ?
I never did

Problem with making/receiving calls

Hi people!
So I've had a galaxy s6 for about a month now but recently there has emerged two problems to do with making and receiving calls that have made the phone all but unusable.
1) whenever making calls to an unknown number this (http://imgur.com/DYnZZgF) is the call app that is used, it looks almost CM and I have no idea why is has changed. It doesn't show up in recents or in programs running, if I close it then I can still hear the call through the speaker but I have to restart the phone to get rid of the app.
2) whenever receiving calls from unknown numbers I hear ringing but there is no visual alert (ie nothing comes up on screen) so accepting or declining is impossible and as the call app doesn't exist to get rid of the ringing I have to simply wait until it stops. These calls do appear in the call log which I assume is a different app but the phone app doesn't appear at all.
If anyone can help me with these problems I'd be super grateful, it's making the phone all but unusable..
Thanks in advance!!

Tmobile Digits Duplicate Notifications

Ok, so Tmobile finally got my digits working and it's awesome to be able to leave the house without my phone. Now with spotify, I don't have to take my phone to the gym anymore. I just hook my BT ear buds and I have everything I need. I can even use it like a phone with a BT headset and when I call people see as if I'm calling from my phone.
Now with that being said, I have only had one issue so far but it's not a digits or tmobile problem. The way I figure I'll just live with it. The nature of having your watch share the same phone number means you get duplicate notifications. For example, if I'm connected to the phone through Bluetooth or I have call forwarding set to get my notifications from my phone and somebody sends me a text, I get the notification from the phone and I clear it. Now when I disconnect from the phone. My text messages and missed calls show up as notifications from the watch.
It makes sense. If the watch is sharing the same phone number, the phone will forward the message to the watch but the watch is also receiving the message to. I know there is an option to block but I want to be able to get my texts and missed calls if I turn off my phone and am using the watch in stand alone mode.
I figured a fix though for those who use the forwarding function and will always have stuff forwarded from the phone is to block the watch notifications. My solution it to just go to the text messaging app and clear them manually, ignore them or just delete the message conversation.
Just something to make people aware of when using Digits if you haven't signed up for it already. I personally like it so far and will probably pay for the service if it's reasonable.
I had a heck of a time getting tmobile to set it up right but when they finally got it working I like it now.
I'm having the same issue...wonder if there's a way to stop the dual notifications?
Just for my S3 frontier and having the same issue. Any fixes?
