Don't hard reset your vivo - Vivo Nex Guides, News, & Discussion

This is a warning for all who maybe thinking about hard resetting their phone.
Strangest thing happened to my vivo.
I hard reset my vivo and now I can't login to my Google account. Due to that I can't use the phone, it doesn't even load Google login screen for me to enter my credentials. It's essentially screwed.
Vivo can't help and have asked me to go to the nearest support centre, which is in Asia somewhere and I'm in the UK. I did tell them not possible so they apologised and said unable to help even though phone is aimed at international market.
I'd hold of buying vivo products in the future for now until they have support for Europe customers.

In recovery there is an option to download and flash the latest firmware

you can just go to setting and find account setting to add google account
then go to apkmirror to find play store apk, download it and install, done

It is advised to log out any google accounts and other proprietary apps that have security activations, like Mi Account in xiaomi devices, before you hard reset any phone.
On my xiaomi device when i reset 2 options apear, one is access wifi settings so i can enter my wifi, second is log in on my Mi Account after the first option, so i can unlock my device.
hope it helps.

That's the mistake I made, reset without logging out of my Google account.

Stuck on this screen

I assume this issue happen only on global version of Chinese phones that has Google play services and Play store pre installed out of box.
Because I've never had that kind of issue with Chinese version of Chinese phones.
BTW I'm waiting end of the week or earlier next week receive my Chinese version of Dual Display.

It's the dual display version not the regular Vivo Nex.
Perhaps he should change the title so not people get confused.

Yesterday I've hard reset my dual display Chinese version for the first time after purchasing 1.5 month ego and after installing manual play store/play services via Vivo store app everything worked as normal.
No any kind issue.
So problem you had its only occur on global version of the device.
So with Chinese version people won't have to worry of dealing with frustrated situation as you lived with global version with Google account login.

I have the chinese version and after reading this I made sure to sign out of my Google account and vivo account just to be safe before reset, thanks! The only problem I had after reset was that i could nt sign into my vivo account, I know my password as i use it all the time and it was working before the reset (whenever i made changes to some app vivo asks for password). I had to contact vivo through messenger and they reactivated my account ( for some reason it got suspended)

But their always helpful if anyone having trouble and talk through messenger with Vivo support.
As for myself I didn't sign out both Google and Vivo account before reset my phone and didn't had issue after hard reset with setup both account later.

Help needed here!!!!

Days before I bought a second hand Oneplus Two phone, and the seller reset the phone before posting.
Now the situation is Google keeping asking me to verify the account, but even the seller give his account information to me I still cannot verify account successfully.
Every time when I input the account password or Google security code and click NEXT, the system will jump back to the very beginning step automatically -- I tried and failed dozens of times already!
Who can tell me what I should do to verify the device? The seller is very nice, he will offer me all personal information abt his former Google account.

there is no magic fix.
if the device ever had a 5.0 build on it, and is capable of being flashed back to it, the security will be gone thats asking for the password.
other than that, there is no fix other than getting it to take the correct password/etc.
this new security is great. problem is, no one knows about it. if you remove the accounts from the device before factory resetting, this security wont be activated.

I think the carriers and Google didn't do enough awareness about FRP.....

there have been a good bit of of post on it so far. it started with 5.1, and as time progresses, as with devices that shipped with 5.1 or newer, there will be no back door.

I restored my phone using Mobile Upgrade Q, but now I'm locked out

After doing a full reset on my phone using Mobile Upgrade Q (which successfully removed CM and TWRP from my phone) I get an error message when trying to set up Android saying "sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device." I've only ever used one google account with this device, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Its factory reset protection, you have to log in with the google account associated with the phone prior to reset.... To avoid this in future or if you sell phone just remove your Google account in settings... accounts before factory reset... It's the equivalent of iCloud locking on Apple, designed to cut down on theft.... If you cant remember the password you can go to the Google account recovery page for assistance
https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery
I don't understand. I WAS logged into the account prior to the reset, on CM. It's the only account I've ever used on this phone, and I haven't changed the password.
How do I unlock it? Is it even possible, or does it think I stole the phone?
Is it possible to reinstall TWRP and CM now? Just to have a useable phone?

Here is a writeup on how and why frp works like it does....
http://www.pcnexus.net/2015/12/what...gle-72-hour-lockout-android-lollipop.html?m=1
There are some hacks around it, but I have never tried them, best method to avoid frp headaches is to simply remove your Google acct prior to any reset
Is there anything special I have to do to login in 24 hours? Is it 24 hours from the first time I reset or the last time I reset (I wiped it a few times trying to get in)?

Thank you for the link. Just to be clear, in case future people ever find this thread: during the 24 hour lock out, you cannot unlock the phone, EVEN WITH THE CORRECT ACCOUNT NAME AND PASSWORD. Oddly enough, the device can still receive phone calls, and displays the caller's contact name. So it's definitely logged into my account, it's just locked out of doing anything except receiving calls. Also, I can hear that the phone is receiving text messages, though I have no way to read or reply to them.
Once I unlock it, I will update this thread with how and what it looks like, again, just in case someone finds this thread in the future, because this information is hard to find.

Before running mobile upgrade Q just remove your Google account in settings, I believe that will allow you to safely reset without triggering FRP...

This happened to me yesterday so I hope it works for me as well.
You know what, I just happened to be looking for the official Alcatel factory flash tool and came across this post because after a few factory resets I was able to get the phone to boot up......BUT, as described above, the phone will only accept the PREVIOUS password which I forgot.... I simply requested a new password be created and it doesn't unlock the phone.
So now I too must wait 24, wow.
This is BS.. I mean, yeah I factory reset the phone because after my son accepted a system update, his phone kept bootlooping and his battery doesn't want to accept a charge now (so it seems per the display).....but what if I want to sell my phone? We have to remove the gmail account prior??????? Wow way to go Alcatel. And if this is actually an Android feature, it sucks.
Now, can anyone direct me to the actual official Alcatel upgrade tool????? I want to just flash this stock unrooted phone to out of box condition so we can trade his phone in. The Alcatel website no longer offers it from what I can see. Thanks!

It's an android security feature introduced in 5.1 LP, it only triggers the wait if you reset any way other than from settings. It's similiar to an iCloud lock, so yes if you sell phone remove google account, or if your buying a used phone make sure the google account is removed prior to reset, or boot up phone and make sure you can get passed the lockout before buying it!!

Unlock/Flash Stock S7 with FRP Lock/OEM lock

Hi guys,
I received the smartphone from my father and he unfortunately locked out himself (forgot pass)
I tried to do a factory reset and it failed as it requires login from the old google account which he set up years ago and does not remember anymore.
I tried to connect to ODIN but quickly realized that USB debug and this special anti Unlock Setup (OEM unlock) in settings was not activated.
Is there any chance at all to reset this phone?
When I stick the phone to any PC device it says could not detect usb device properly. Its because the phone is "locked" I guess.
However going to download mode did not solve the problem either. ODIN just cant get any signal.
I tried on multiple win10 devices, installed KIES, did it only with samsung drivers but the phone does not get properly recognized as it should.
Help :/
S7 is 1.5 years old, he obviously knew the Google account login when he got the phone, which at max would be 1.5 years ago, recovery emails are used to create Google accounts, reset the Google account password from the web and sort it that way

That was a simple google account which he made and my father is having memory issues since he is over 60.
Its odd that you seem to know more about my issue right now with the phone. Induction is dangerous.
I even do not know at which MONTH or year I created my google account. I can just roughly guess more than 4 years old for sure but thats a stupid question Google is asking either.
So even with doing an induction here, we would fail ourselves.
PS: You wanna see the receipt? I smell great doubt in you!

Is there anyway to remove a Vivo Account without knowing the password

I set my phone up with a virtual number and established a Vivo account, however it never asked me to set up a password yet seems to have one already tied to the phone number. Anyway I cannot reset the password as I don't have access to that virtual number anymore. You cannot do anything without this password. Do any of you know how to bypass this security and complete a hard reset? I found Evenshop's method here, but I think there are some steps missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Go to Settings, more settings, apps, all, vivo account and then first install updates, and second force closed.
Sorry for translate, my language are spanish.

Same Problem here, it s also not possible to deactivate vivos "FindMyPhone"... cant make a factory reset Always asked for the the PW... Also the solution settings, Mode settings, Apps, all etc didnt work for me. In the app vivo Account i cant do anything. No Install no uninstall No reinstall...and No choice to force close. Only in the app vivo Cloud i can do that things but when i go to settings factory reset, erase all datas, it asks me again for the vivo Account PW.... Any ideas? Thx
No Chance to make a factory reset.
Vivo support gave me this tip to bypass the account password. Have not tried it but it may help. "If Find my Phone switch is turned off in VivoCloud, you can remove the account by erasing all data on your phone."
Yeah thats right... It will work, but on my nex find my Phone Switch is Turned on For some reason, so i cant Turn it off, without a Password

I bring good news.
Hello guys, I bring good news.
I specialized I carried out numerous researches and I was able to find out how to remove the blocked Vivo Account for whatever reason.
the process is simple but a little evasive, it is necessary to remove the back cover of the device to jump two contacts on the board.
I will be making the unlocking service available to those who need it.
The Service can be performed remotely, via teamviewer.
All support instructions will be passed on to the customer.
The cost of the service is $ 30 USD and the time to complete the process is approximately 15 minutes.
How to remove vivo account without email and phone number

Employee left, we're stuck with a Huawei P20 phone asking for a code.

Employee left the compagny and this employee didnt give us the passcode. we're now stuck at the passcode screen and we cannot do nothing to factory reset the phone. Is there a solution we can do recover the phone and be able to use it again with a new employee?

Hi there,
I think the best option you have here is to call back your employee in order to fix that, because Huawei blocked everything on their phones.
Year ago we had the same. It was mate10lite and security patches were not applied.
So, there bwas a YouTube video how to get pass it.
Included creating having shortcut maker in yahoo mail, while watching yt video (was a way to open some how to recover password) you could get in mail, open shortcut maker, skip to settings, disable security...
But that was lucky. As the user had not applied any updates.
