Atleast for me, forum seems to be full of people spamming, asking same questions over and over again, not using search. Also crying non stop about everything, having bought the phone for 150usd, and expecting it to be better than say Pixel for 1000usd. I also agree that community is bad. But development is good, a lot of custom roms, been using Pie rom Pixel Experience, runs like stock, no bugs, great performance and battery life. But if i were you, i would wait for redmi note 7.. much nicer design, a bit better soc, and probably better camera. And its gonna cost basically the same, well maybe 10euros more. Its not really logical buying redmi note 5 at this time, when you have newer devices for the same price. Even redmi note 6 costs the same and is newer, but the only upgrade on it is notched screen. RN7 is a real upgrade tho
Ive been on xda forums since 2008 or so, and i would usually buy flagship devices for a ****load of money, and community was always nice. My last 2 devices, were cheap ones from china, leeco le pro 3 and RN5, and in both cases community was way worse.. So i came to conclusion, the cheaper the device is, the ****tier the community is.

And don't forget: In this community we have like 5-6 type of people:
- The PUBG user: how's the pubg gameplay plz anyone?
- The SOT lover: I have bad SOT plz dev fix asap
- The random reporter: I have X bug plz dev fix it see the screenshot
- The updates guy: Next update when plz?
- The normal user: we all know them.

Well, in my experience the worst community was with my old S7 edge, that was... my god, a little example: random people building kernels/roms full of bugs and crap, and stupid users paying to be able to use them.

I noticed that most of the people who are on xda are mostly indians. No offence to them but they are extremely dumb (not all of them, only the ones who ask retarded questions about this and that.). I can wait for note 7 however the 48mp camera is a gimmick.

Its not a gimmick. Its a really good sensor from samsung, and it uses pixel bining technology. Combining 4pixels into 1, resulting in waaayyy bigger pixels and way more light coming in, resulting in good quality 12mpx photos. RN7 is a midrange device for a budget phone price. You cant get sd660 with all the other goodies for this price anywhere else.

Interesting. I can go with this phone but the glass back, not my cup of tea.
Yes it can be replaceable, but why add a glass back if your phone has no wireless charging?

Also i found a discount on a note 5 pro in my store for just 100 bucks. It expires on 17 january. So what should i do? Buy it or wait?

Because design wise it looks much more premium than aluminium. Also they follow design line of other xiaomi phones. They released mi 8 series with glass back, and if you look at mi 8 light, youll see its the same design as RN7. So, you get new, modern design, and design wise it didnt cost xiaomi anything, because research and development was already done on mi 8 series. If they released another metal phone, looking just like RN5, people would be crying non stop.. They already were crying, because RN4, RN5, RN6 had basically same design..

Well, 100usd is a joke of a price. For this hardware, its a bargain. If you dont need that extra 10% performance, better low light photos and more modern design, go for it. You wont find rn7 for 100usd thats for sure.

Alright. I will look and see what i will buy.

The Redmi note 7 seems once again to be a very good phone for the price.
I am very happy with the RN5, updates are regular and I don't matter about dumb people who are always complaining about nothing. I'm not ready to change because I hope Android pie update as announced on the forum ( perhaps increasing photo and video mode) , but I am a bit afraid to loose call recording feature which is a very important functionality for me. As far I know, Android 9 doesn't allow it andI hope it will be still there thanks to Miui.
This is my first Xiaomi and I'm really impressed by the great quality of this smartphone.

Bored of my S9 plus! What phone do I switch too OP6 or P20 Pro

Hey guys, new to all this so go easy on me. Over the past few years I have become a bit of a tech fanatic. I like to get a phone, use for a few months then sell on while it retains value. I'm March I got the S9 Plus coming from a Note 8 and from that coming from an S8 Plus. I love Samsung through heaven and earth but have become slightly bored with their design and UI. I have been strongly considering the Huawei P20 Pro and the OnePlus 6. Can I have your thoughts please? I have read/watch so many reviews on the P20 Pro and it's seems amazing the lag is the main issue as I do now want it. I don't game, I use a phone for emails, text, whatsapp, web browsing, Twitter, Instagram etc. ?
Get both.

I dont need or want both lol. It's just the lag on the Huawei phones, it's really putting me off at the moment, the old Kirin970 processor too, coming from the Exynos 9810 will feel like a downgrade but then the camera on the P20 will feel like an upgrade. So difficult. The Huawei seems perfect, but the lag and stuttering is a huge dealbreaker for me but I want to know if its as bad as people make our as we all know EMUI isnt the most polished skin.

It makes a lot of sense. I'm trying to get people's views on bith phones. I'm not saying I don't like Huawei either I have spoken seen a lot of people pull up the lag and unresponsiveness of the Huawei, yet I have just spoken to someone who is not a gamer who has had a P20 for 2 months now, uses his phone for what I use my phone for and has had no lag or stuttering what so ever. So im thinking will I even notice a difference coming from the Exynos 9810 to the Kirin970?
There are major cons woth both phones I'm just trying to get peace of mind with both so I can decide with a balanced view.
Thanks

Brother, S9 is a superior phone to both. I understand that you are bored, and that you have disposable income to switch phones at will. Which is why my original suggestion stands - get both. And stop being a little ... nice person.
EDIT: As a side note, there's nothing prettier than the Silk White OP6. Consider that.

I dont really care if the S9+ is more superior. I want a change and I only want one. I don't have disposable income. I sell to then replace, while the S9+ still has value over £500. I do love the one plus 6. But I want my worries addressed.
Battery: Smaller than S9+ - OP has dash charge so is it really a problem.
Speakers: Dual Speakers in S9+ - I mainly use Beats headphones.
Camera: S9+ a better all rounder - OP releasing camera update to make it a lot lot better
IP rating: S9+ IP68 water and dust - OP doesnt but does it really matter. (Although I have seen a few people with issues with dust in the camera.
Now I love the OnePlus 6 held it, feels good, it's an amazing change from the curved designs on Samsung I need a break from them. Then when you use it, the speed is absolutely unbelievable!!
These are my worries I just want peace of mind.

Battery life is really good. Less than 1% for 4 minutes of screen time with autobrightness on.
Screen off drain is inferior with my unit compared to Samsung phones, but I have a bad cellular signal (not with Samsung previously, new carrier with this phone) - therefore more power used by the radio, more drain. About 1% per 2 hours.
Speakers are weak. Not bad, but not great either. Piece of advice, get rid of overpriced junk that is Beats and get real audiophile headphones for the same price and 10 times better sound quality.
Camera is good, but not S9 good. Watch out though, so many reports of bad camera that I think it may be the weakest link in this phone - defective cameras are abound.
The phone is mostly water proof, according to JerryRigEverything YT channel, but it didn't pass the IP67 test, so it's vulnerable to submersions. Splashes, rain, occasional dunk should be just fine.
I think I will stick with the Huawei then purely because of the camera issues then! I love OnePlus, I love the brand and the ethic! I'm hoping the 6T will be a game changer!
Thanks for your time

Did it fail the IP67 test or did they just not pay to have it certified.
I have an S9+ that I gave to someone else in my family as I did not like it. The camera is great but I take very few pictures. For me, I want a rootable device. I also want as close to pure Android as you can get. I had a P10 and sold it within a month. The Huawei OS is horrid. It's like they thought they were making an iPhone.

I do love the OnePlus 6 but I take photos, not thousands but enough to merit wanting a decent camera! I love my S9+ but unfortunately my battery has got worse and worse since I got it in march, and like I said in my first post, since last year I have had the S8+ then the Note8 now the S9+ and it's been basically the same design, and im just so bored of it. Funny you mention the P10, when I got the S8+ last year I keep being pushed by Vodafone to get the P10 but I hated itamd wouldnt get it, the new P20 and the new EMUI is amazing and has changed so much since the P10!!

Neither. I know that "nearly stock" Android, with very few stutter is a very tempting thing but... You'll get a WAY worse screen (don't let anyone tell you the difference is minimal, it's bull****, the difference is huge), you'll get way worse speakers, you'll get a way worse camera, you'll lose the option to charge wireless, you fully lose the vibration motor (the one in the oneplus 6 is so damn awful, you literally won't believe it until you don't feel it, vibration mode is basically useless unless the phone is in your hand or on a surface like glass). The only advantage the OnePlus 6 has is the software. If you were coming from an older phone, I'd absolutely recommend you the OnePlus 6, it's a great phone. But coming from an S9+? You're giving up more than you realize and you're definitely going to regret it after some time.
I was so tempted for OP 6 but the camera is not up to the mark I am using Note 8!

That guy is FOS. Do I need to spell it out what that means?
"WAY worse screen"
Not even close. The screen is excellent. I've used Samsung flagship phones up to Note7, and I have had extensive experience with an S9. Aside from the resolution, the screen is nearly perfect. Beautiful colors, great brightness and in-sun visibility. Everything else - color temp, viewing angles, hues, color reproduction etc. are nearly perfect. Made by Samsung too.
"way worse camera"
Some truth to that. S9 camera is with no match. Even P20 Pro in my opinion is worse. But OP6 camera is not WAY WORSE. That's ridiculous. This man is inebriated with his own flatulence.
" you'll lose the option to charge wireless"
True.
" you fully lose the vibration motor (the one in the oneplus 6 is so damn awful, you literally won't believe it until you don't feel it"
That's just false. No more comments needed. The man is plain wrong.
"but coming from an S9+? You're giving up more than you realize and you're definitely going to regret it after some time."
I loved the S9. But OP6 is also good. Very fast.

Lol. The screen on the S9+ is nowhere near the quality of the OnePlus 6's. Did you read me say that the OnePlus 6's is bad or has any issues with viewing angles and so on? No, you did not. My point was that no matter how good the OnePlus 6's screen is, the S9's ****s on it. It's not just resolution, it's everything, even brightness.

The vibration motor on the OnePlus 6 is crap. Absolutely garbage. Coming from a Galaxy s8, the difference is night and day. The motor on the OnePlus 6 is tiny, weak, soft and it even makes an annoying sound when typing with haptic feedback on. Just google it and see how many more people are complaining about the issue. (The 3T and other OnePlus phones also suffered from this issue).

That was exactly my point. The OnePlus 6 has better, faster software. That's all. In everything else, the S9+ is superior.
The guy asked for an opinion, if you wanna be a blind fanboy, that's fine. But when trying to help someone decide where they'll spend 500$+, either give them fair advice or just stay quiet.
Edit: I missed this one.

Have you ever even looked at raw files produced by both? Have you even done any serious photography with both? I'm not even gonna comment. If you believe the OnePlus 6's camera is anywhere nearly as good as the S9's, you're just delusional.

I am having Doubts

Guys, i am really insecure if i should buy this Phone, I heard the camera is just meh, which i could live with (but only if that means medicore) and Software-OS is a huge Letdwown, can someone Tell me how realistic it would be that there will be custom roms? can it also be possible that there will never be custom Roms? and do you think this Phone could be Future proof (Talking about 2-3 Years) I do not want to regret it if i order it since it is a fair amount of money
currently using a nubia 717 mini and sick of it
This phone will never have a custom rom. Better wait the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 that will launch in october, Xiaomi release kernel sources few weeks/days after the launch. And Xiaomi's camera quality is not bad now

I used the mix 2s and it was a good experience but that LCD display was a let down and i could never live with that horrible selfie camera. Also, apps tend to hang and crash alot, at least when i used it. LCD was bad because of JDI manufacturers, same idiots who supplied oneplus with the displays in their oneplus one models which had the infamous yellow band at the bottom. If you're not OCD and can live with it go ahead. Cant fault that amazing 845 SD

coming from a glitchy, lagging Samsung S7 Edge with a pink line defect...
The camera is pretty meh. Hardware wise, it should have the oomph, but the software doesn't seem to optimize it. My 2 year old S7 seems to take slightly better pics from stock. Front facing pop up is more of a novelty but I like it.
The lower PPI screen is apparent compared to pixel rich Samsung phones. I'm not talking about the color, I can almost see the pixels. It's like going from a 4k tv to a DLP.
The on-display fingerprint reader works 9/10 times for me on the first try. I don't understand why people are having issues with it. Maybe they have dirty screens or dirty fingers. If it doesn't register it the first time, i give it quick rub with my finger and press down again and it get's it 100% on the second attempt. There might have been one time it wasn't working when my finger was wet. You can also register more fingers, so.....more chances to get it right.
I actually love the FunTouch OS because it is like iOS. Despite android having 10 million themes, iOS may be bland but it just works. Having FunTouch is like going back to that familiar comfort without resorting back to Apple.
I think it's too early on to say NEVER but it will depend how tech savvy you are messing with software internals, and comfortable with the risks associated with bricking your phone. This is not the phone to get if you want to do custom ROMs unless you want to be a pioneer.
No phone is future proof, and that's a good thing. Every year, new innovation inspires better designed phones. Of course, with daily use it will last you a good few years if handled with care. The most current software should also last at least 2 years even if Vivo doesn't get any further updates, as most app developers write programs going back at least one generation of software.
I bit the bullet, knowing well of the NEX's shortcomings but after going through Samsungs S7, S6, and Apple's 6, 5, 4, 3, and OG phones, I wanted to try something else. I wasn't impressed by the latest Note 9 and the upcoming iPhone X successor leaks are not promising as well. Having gone through the NEX and tweaking it to my liking, I am very pleased with this phone. I don't know if it's because I set the bar low, but it definitely surpassed my expectations, despite the negative reviews.

Is anyone else annoyed with all of the seemingly negative reviews everywhere?

I have told a few friends that I ordered a 4XL and they aren't really even gadget freaks and they all respond "Oh, why would you do that? Everyone says that phone sucks". I've read through most of the relevant posts on Reddit (real life reviews and not website articles) and it seems like the majority of the people commenting there are satisfied and are getting solid SOT. I am experienced Android user and know how to manage my device so I'm confident that I'll be satisfied with the battery (are people really ever without chargers anymore anyways).
Also, lots of people are sending back the phone because they can't justify the price...so why order it at all?

I'm coming from the s10+ and couldn't be happier with the Pixel 4xl. I love it! 100% agree with the two posts right above mine.
I think every year some people want Google to focus on putting everything in a phone including the kitchen sink similar to Samsung but that doesn't translate into a great user experience and is far from Google's philosophy. It's similar to how generally every year people talked about how the iPhone upgrade sucks yet they sale like hotcakes. There are plenty phones with high ram, curved screens, hole punch display etc but on the surface people looking at a sheet of paper will say the phone sucks but after using for a few you will understand the smooth simple consistent user experience. Many reviewers use the phone and find it boring because it's harder to sell and explain the idea of user experience over a higher number on a piece of paper. I have a 4 XL and the phone is great. The other Pixels were plagued with similar negativity also. My battery absolutely last me through the day and as more people post true positive experiences, true battery test etc the negativity will subside.
Coming from the Pixel 2xl, and have had many many devices back to the Evo 4g, this is by far the smoothest, cleanest, seamless experience thus far.
This year alone I've had the Xiaomi Mi 9T, OnePlus 7 Pro, Galaxy S10E and Galaxy Note 10 and now the Pixel 4 XL. Pixel is the best phone hands down. I'm a regular guy (user) who uses their phone like 90% of you all. The smoothness, camera and battery are better in my use then all the devices I listed. I love all these big name YouTube reviewers and watch them to get informed on devices before I buy them but they've all ruined their credibility after all this Pixel bashing.
I like this review that's real and true. For those hating on the phone, "The Google Pixel 4 XL wasn't made for you".

I think it's because Google failed to impress in many ways. The Pixel 4 is such a disappointment. I really like stock Android. I've had 3 Google phones in a row (Nexus 5, Nexus 5X and currently a Pixel 2 XL). I have always upgrades phones every two years so I was ready for an upgrade. Now I don't know what to do. At this point I'm leaning towards trying to hang on for another year and hope the Pixel 5 isn't a disappointment.

The price. We can all agree it's overpriced right? They went for we're premium for Android but "cheaper" than Apple's Pro line approach and it didn't work.
They're gonna either need to drop the price $100 or make up their game like starting 128 GB, brighter screen, wide angle lens, video recording improvements, and at least 3500 mAh on the regular and 4000 mAh on the XL and keep the same price or maybe up it only $50.

It's priced just fine.
Screen is plenty bright even in direct sunlight.
Who actually needs a wide angle lens unless you're a photographer then buy a real camera?
What improvements exactly for video recording? I haven't had issues with video recording.
Battery is plenty on the XL. I'm averaging over 6hrs of SOT which is way may than the OnePlus 6T I came from.
Have you actually used a Pixel yourself and held it in your hand to make these accusations or just going based on the Apple Pro fan boys reviews on YouTube?

Guess you didn't read my signature? I have had the device for a week and yes, it's overpriced for what it's offering or lacking.
Screen is only 436 nits compared to 800-1000 Samsung and iPhones get.
Nobody needs astrophotography and it's got that. I do use an ultra wide angle lens attachment on my Pixel 2 XL and plan to with my 4 XL. I don't want to carry a "real" camera because I like the computational photography Pixel phones do and the portability.
Video is missing 24 FPS and 60 FPS and HDR like iPhone 11 has. I don't need the FPS but their videos look amazing. And their stabilization has leaped over the Pixel. No I don't want a gimbal.
I had better battery on my 2 XL getting 6-7 hours with the occasional 8 hours SOT. And that's with 24 or so off the charger. I've gotten 5-6 hours SOT on the 4 XL. That's pretty weak.
You're giving a lot of excuses for things that are standard on a flagship device in 2019.

I thought you were the other person I quoted. So then sell yours and go buy a Samsung or Apple? If all those features are that important to you.
I guess I don't get the logic that just because the iPhone or Samsung has it, means that it's missing from the Pixel.

Why's it gotta be all or nothing? I can't criticize my own phone? I can admit is lacking compared to the competition. It's not important enough to me to sell it. I'm all for the Google ecosystem and great software experience.

Because that's what competition does. Pixel phones lead in computational photography and look what Apple did with their stills this year. They lacked our Night Site and now their Night Mode is even better with a lot less night sky noise.
I'm willing to pay the premium for the smoothest Android experience but if you don't even agree that the device is lacking things for the price, aka it's overpriced, you're in denial. Neither of you have justified the prices for the Pixel.

Now I'm starting to remember why I don't participate on xda much anymore. Every thread somehow turns into some kind of childish debate haha. Pretty silly.
I don't know why I need to justify a purchase on an internet forum. I mean I freely gave up my money for something I wanted. I think that's justified. I don't live by reviews and specs alone.
I had the s10+. I purchased the Pixel 4xl. I liked the Pixel better and kept it over the s10+. That's all the justification I need. :good:

bye bye Huawei

Got the OnePlus 8 Pro and coming from this turd of a device it is a refreshing change.
The smoothness and higher refresh rate is staggeringly superior.
Wish that Huawei would have left the bootloader alone, the p10 Pro was going places.
Now it's pretty much dead, shame.
Hopefully see some of you in the OnePlus 8 Pro forum, highly recommend the phone, is flawless.

Ohhh I feel you, that's like me swapping out my OnePlus 5 for the Pro. I got the phone and tried why I got it (camera) then after the novelty of that wore off and development on XDA died, I realised that it is a dog turd.
So much potential, literally killed with several bad decisions.
I wouldn't change my P20 Pro for the world (well perhaps for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro). Its easily the best phone I've ever owned. I honestly cannot fault it for anything other than the lack of development.

Well it's only day one but so far it's been pretty good.
I managed to get 14 hours 45 minutes on my OnePlus 5, usually averaged around 10 hours.
My average on the P20 Pro was a little less at about 7-9 hours
Soon as I get a ballpark I'll respond.
So far it's looking good, I think a minimum of 7, better in mind I've got 120hz on constantly.
Camera is phenomenal and that's compared to the P20 Pro. It's a huge leap forward, 4k 60fps is brilliant, the OIS stability is vastly improved and the super macro I love. I'm yet to find a fault with the phone besides one thing which I'm getting used to and that's the waterfall screen, I sometimes touch it by accident but I think that's habit of having edges on my Huawei.
Free wireless bullets 2 came with the phone and a case in the box which will do for now.
12GB RAM and 256GB storage, just a crazy phone mate.

I'm sorry, but I don't see all of this. My phone runs just fine. I don't find the software bloated. I've never had to use customer service. I don't see any perceptible lack of performance. Sure, software updates are slow to arrive, but this is the same with the vast majority of manufacturers. And how many of them still support devices over 2 years old?
As I previously said, the lack of development, due mainly to Huawei's intransigence over bootloader unlocking, is the only real issue I have with it.

Lol I didn't want to do this (get pulled into a silly back and forth) especially seeing as what I said is correct.
Bloat:
The ROM download is 4.7GB in size? In what way is that not bloated dude? What the hell Is it?
Customer service:
OnePlus, called to RMA, phone sent and back in 3 days, for free, I asked Huawei for MY information, all correspondence, GDPR , this is my information, that was seven months ago, I'm still waiting, they won't send me anything.
Performance?:
Oh dear where to start, install lawn chair launcher, add the Google feed (on the left) it lags when opening it, a OnePlus 5 doesn't lag when you do that? A OnePlus 3, 2 maybe even a 1!!
Dolphin emulator lags, unplayable in most instances, psp, modern combat, normal games like cod, or just 3D games in general have sub standard performance compared to any of the phones out at the same time as the Pro, unless it's a Huawei / honor / Samsung (EU) device, the problem is mainly the awful Mali but the CPU isn't great either, plus it heats up a lot too.
Software updates:
OnePlus - one variation
Huawei - I can even answer this, how many different variants and regions are there for Huawei? L09 L29 c432 c783 A100 ?? I have no idea, it's just a stupid avoidable mess, how long have people been waiting for Android 10? How many people managed to get the beta? Lol it's shocking, OHHH and yes some of the updates relock the damn bootloader, some of the services (funky) completely broke the ability to unlock the bootloader? It's a disgusting, avoidable sh*tshow.
Let me tell you something about software updates, a phone with a healthy after market development community will not need updates after two years, they will continue to get tweaked, optimized, newer modded ROMs released, look at the HD2, I think it's still being developed now. Huawei will never have that, ever, or is a dead platform on XDA.
Lastly :
I'm not bashing your here, I know people who bought this device did so in good faith, I'm one of them, and bitterness is rife as well as a bias for your device but you can't stand by what you said pal, it's just BS, get any Snapdragon device and you'll see what I mean. My only hope for the Huawei community is that they never buy another Huawei ever again, Huawei teamed up with XDA and became popular, created a following and then just pulled the rug out from everyone's feet. I hope they go down the route HTC did, the former surely deserve it.

Honestly, if the 8 didn't come to carriers in the UK I was thinking of doing the same mate. Totally get your choice.
Lot of similarities and you've got that high refresh rate too.
With you on the sh*t show that has been Huawei. Remember the days when you could actually unlock the bootloader and we clung on to some hope that there'd be light at the end of the tunnel but they quickly stopped that. I had to send my back for a repair after it hard bricked and they sent it back bootloader locked
I couldn't warrant the extra £200 for the OP8 Pro so got the standard OP8. I'm seeing that Pro forum is already more active with some ROM's that I hope will quickly filter down to its little brother and the hardware is not much different.
So yeah, 2 years of the P20 done & dusted, phone sold, only regret I have is putting up with it for so long.

He is right, though. They slashed most of the features, only slightly toned the price down and now we have a phone without real purpose or usage. Its too expensive for its features, much more expensive than the already decent 4a/4a 5g (but costs double/much more) and cannot be considered an upgrade to the pixel 4 (xl). I wonder.

They pretty much screwed US users with the pricing, unfortunately. In other countries you're looking at the equivalent of $600-650 with $200 of included free stuff.
Not saying it's cheap or even particularly affordable in the other countries, but at least it doesn't feel like you're getting reamed quite as hard.
The purpose, though? Well, it's a mid-range phone with sufficient RAM and storage and an ultrawide camera with Google's software. Wireless charging, hopefully some decent battery life and a bright display. That fixes a lot of the stuff that was annoying about the Pixel 4 (tiny battery, dim display, and no ultrawide camera pretty much made the Pixel 4 a non-starter for me, ESPECIALLY at the flagship price it was commanding back then).
If you don't mind the 6GB of RAM, you can save some cash and just buy the 4a 5G (or even the 4a if you don't need an ultrawide). They've fixed all the crap that was wrong with the Pixel 4 and have offered a range of price points... sure, they've also made mistakes and left a bunch of stuff out, but the MAJOR stuff is there (like the display you can actually use outdoors in sunlight).

I'm totally with you. I was considering something different as well but what? I'm sure not going to put up with a Samsung phone and I'm definitely not going to switch to an iPhone. I want that pure Google software experience. Not really any other good choice.

It's good to see someone with a brain respond in this thread. My last Samsung phone was the Note 4 and I actually really liked it. I ended up getting a Note 20 Ultra 5G afew days ago and I'm really impressed with it. It's faster/ smoother than the Pixel 4XL and has a bigger/ brighter screen. It's also now possible to root the Verizon Note 20 Ultra which I'll probably do in a few days.

I've had all of the Pixel XL phones since they first were released and was hoping for a nice upgrade with the Pixel 5. After seeing the specs/hardware it unfortunately looks like I'll be searching for something different now, I'm pretty disappointed to say the least.

Pixels are not for the weak hearted. If you want to just use social media and play games, get a Samsung or an iPhone.
If you want cutting edge development, get the Pixel.
