Hi,
Where is the light ambience sensor in the mix 3?
I read that it's under the slider, where the front cameras are which means that to adjust screen brightness automatically you have to open it? Is this true?
Thanks in advance.

Outside, if it was inside there would be no point having the option. You can test it easily
yes its top left. its a teeny weeny lil dot which you can spot easily when you tilt your phone back and forth, you will notice that there is a hole around that area.

Hi, sorry if this is an obvious question. I know the top of the bezel contains the camera, and I assume the top left is the light sensor...what is the hole in the bottom left for? My description assumes that you are holding the tablet in landscape of course: )
Thanks!

No front facing camera unfortunately. Should be a hole for the light and proximity sensors...

Yes our phone has a FFC that no one knew abou till you discovered it from a case...
Yes, as stated earlier, definitely for the light and proximity sensors. If you want to test it, when you are on a call, cover up the hole with your finger. The proximity sensor will turn your display off until you remove your finger again.
Thank you for reading this. It would be greatly be appreciated if someone could point out what part is on the top right of the front of the phone. This is not on the display screen, but is right above it. On the top left is the front facing camera. What about the top right? They appear to be two small circles, similar to lens, When viewing the mentioned two circles, the circle on the left has a more distinguishable small golden/brown circle or mark inside of the lens or right next to it. Hopefully this is not a defect.
Again, any help is much appreciated.

that's 2 sensors. one is for light for auto brightness. which i believe also triggers turning the screen off when you put the phone up to your ear(or maybe that's what the second sensor does)
Is the golden dot in left sensor normal? Or defect any ideas?

As to the golden dot on the "left sensor", is that normal, or is that a defect? It's more distinguishable then the sensor to the right.
Thanks again for your quick reply to my thread.
Hey there, I think everything is fine so first of all relax! You'll be alright guy. The sensors on the right side are for light and proximity (not sure which is which), the light sensor is for tuning the brightness of the screen dependent on your surroundings and the proximity sensor is for the phone to turn off the screen when it's by your ear so you don't press something with your cheek. Can't be 100% sure if theres a defect till you post a pic.
EDIT: The left sensor in the upper right is proximity so the right must be for light.
Quick question, I see there are 2 sensors on the bezel near the camera (well, a bit above/to the right of the camera). I assume one is an ambient light sensor, and I'm not sure about the other one. Proximity sensor? Is that needed on a tablet? The screen covers use magnets to wake the device right? Anybody know for sure?

The tablet has a polarity sensor So yes you need Magnets to use the Wake function fyy has a nice cover for 5 bucks if you dont want to spend 40 on a piece of cloth that Covers the front .Where do you see these sensors exactly I've been trying to locate them with no luck ?

You need to get a lot of light on it (I had an open window next to it). Then with the tab in landscape with the front cam on the left hand side, they are under the glass a bit to the right and above the front cam.

I saw these just the other day and I'm wondering what they are, too. Trying to find something about them on Google but no luck so far.

Any idea why they would use a proximity sensor? Not like we are holding it to our faces. And the cover uses magnets to wake the device. Hmm.
I have read that it has no proximity sensor somewhere.. Still waiting for my case.. So I have been trying tap tap app but failed.. No proximity sensor detected..

There was rumours of a variant which had voice calling function. I used this to test the proximity sensor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tigermonster.proxfinder
I haven't seen this answered anywhere, and looking at close-up photos, I can't seem to find the proximity sensor ... Anyone know where it is?

The little dot in the top just off to the right hand side is my guess because if I cover that spot the phone will not wake with double tap.

Not sure why it uploaded sideways and small but here it is.
That spot flashes with the screen off when you're looking at it through another camera.
