I currently have a HW2, and thinking of trading it in for the GT, as I like the idea of the long battery life, I mainly use the step, GPS for running, sleep tracking that Huawei health provide, I only use the basic notifications and use the Huawei watch faces, would it be a good change or should I keep the HW2, anyone else changed from the HW2 to the GT, any advice thanks

Hi Folks
Can we get a collection of useful NFC tips and tricks going.
I'll kick off:
I'd like to be able to touch my watch and Note 4 to activate certain auto settings on the phone. ie use the watch nfc like a tag.
I'd like to be able to touch my watch to a tag to switch a set of functions - eg toggle flight mode at bed time.
I'd like to use it for payment etc but don't see any apps out for that yet (at least not in South Africa).
I have no idea how to do any of these and would appreciate any pointers - I'm sure all gear s2 owners would be interested.
I'd like to be able to shut NFC off...

Hi guys,
I just got my Huawei watch 2, and what I am hoping to do is find a way to get my watch to nofiy me when the battery level falls down a certian level. Which would be easy for me to do on tasker, but since you can't use tasker on android ware, it's a bit of a pain.
Also the holy grail would also have some way to disable charging when it reaches a certian battery level, is this possible?
For your first problem you can just use wear battery stats
Autowear is the app you are looking for
Autowear is the bridge between tasker and your watch. Lots of cool features. Enjoy.
Hello there,
I have been trying to calibrate the altimeter on this amazing watch. I checked both on the watch and the Huawei Health app, but there is not an option to calibrate the altimeter when you are at a point with a known and certain altitude.
Anybody could help please?
This is such a simple option that would allow to make this watch way more reliable for mountain use.
Thanks a lot

Nobody knows??
Then I assume this altimeter is useless. If you cannot calibrate it, then it doesn't work in the mountain at all. It is not reliable.
This issue persist even from original first Gt watch. Was never fixed. Due almost non existent support from Huawei, I'm almost certain it will never be fixed. On the other hand I see on Honor GS pro there is an option to do so but barometer not. And it always shows wrong readings. Strange.
Whatever...at the end of the day it's China based company, what did you expect
I am looking at purchasing the UK version with BP and ECG and currently have a A52 phone to work with it.
I currently use a Fitbit Charge 4 but really need a device with ECG. Anyone coming from a Fitbit or Garmin or other device with good sleep tracking care to comment on how close the GW4 compares? From the reviews and comments under the reviews it looks like there might be some bad batches of GW4's out there in the wild that are not performing as good as some others?
The sleep tracking on GW4 (same as in previous models like GW3 etc) is Not good. It mainly misses most the deep sleep cycle. I've also had Fitbit before and it seemed better. The best sleep tracker is the Oura ring which I also use and sometime compare with the GW4, which again fails to track deep sleep

Try using Sleep as Android (works with both Tizen and WearOS). Not sure if they've optimized for GW4 yet, but I find Sleep as Android very comparable to Oura - deep sleep metrics are a very inexact science, but agree Samsung watch algorithms do that poorly.
The other nice thing about Sleep as Android is it also graphs SpO2 (again, not sure they've added support for GW4 yet) and HRV. So the only metric missing from that equation is temperature (which can be very useful) that Oura does do.
I am using a beta version of sleep as android created especially for GW4 support. You can check if the update is live yet or also join their beta program.
edit:

Samsung Watch 4
Hello @sonofanut, I think you are right. Google did just removed the Sleep as Android Wear OS app from the Play Store… This is part of their “rising the quality bar” initiative. The reason in the notice is we are not showing the the time of the next alarm on the tracking screen… The reason for...

You might want to start a thread if you are having issues as you will defiantly get more responses.
Anyone check if the sleep tracking has improved any with the latest firmware/software updates to the GW4?
Also is anyone using the ECG feature? That is one of the main features I need as I have heart palpitations on a regular bases but of course whenever I go the doctors it never occurs so its not something they can ever see on a machine and would like to try and catch it on the GW4 when I have an episode to see what it is actually doing.
Is there a way for my PHONE to notify me when my watch battery is under 20%-25%, set maualy the procent.
Not every time wear my watch, any somtime is discharging to 0, an app to notiffy me on my phone is very good.
Haven't seen anything, but would be good feature to have...
I hope a developer sees the requirement
I am willing to pay for the application
It’s not an App, but the functionality you mentioned is possibly with a combination of Watchmaker Watch-Face + Lua-Script and a Tasker-Task. But this is only a workaround or very special use case
It is a good idea. I am not sure why the WEAR app doesn't support it. I suppose they assume you will notice the watch, itself, notifying you. But it only does that when it is REALLY low and asks to switch to low power mode. Plus, doesn't help if you have your watch off your body at the time.
