Hello.
I've been having some problems attempting to flash Pie on my XZ Premium, which was previously on Oreo with an unlocked bootloader.
I made the (honest and silly) mistake of attempting to flash the packages with Flashtool, but this problem persisted before that.
Now the device just says it has failed verification and does not boot.
I would attempt to re-flash using newflasher, but when I hold volume down and attempt to boot into flashmode, the light will go green for one second, and then the device will power off, so I cannot flash any software.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Okay, I'm officially stupid, the issue was fixed by plugging the phone into a different USB port on my PC. I hope this helps anyone who has the same problem that I did!

USB Connection constantly up and down
Hi guys,
I made an OTA update to my xperia Ray ST18 because the guy that sold me the phone didn't warn me it has been unlocked. Now it's dead!
I'm really desperate.
I tried Sony Update Tool to try to flash the new ROM. It detects the phone and says it has flashed OK. Then I disconnect the cable and try to turn on the phone but it doesn't start.
The only response I get when I try to restart the phone is a short vibration but the phone still doesn't start.
I don't know if it's normal but when I put the phone to charge there's no light turning on. Is it normal?
I'm also trying to flash with Flashtool but the phone now keeps loosing USB connection.
Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Normaly is Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) the best Way
to repair your Phone.
If the Phone loos USB-Connection, check USB (ADB+SDK) Driver
or install new.
Maybe a other Way is "S1tool" it´s a small and crippled subset of SETOOL2 service tool.
Install it, all USB Driver inside.
Shut down your Virusprogram an startet it.
Press the Restore Button in S1
Bring Phone in Fastboot
(Loudness Button UP and USB Connect, you see blue Light on the Home Button)
Wait arround 5 Second..... Finsh
I had the same Problem about flash on my Ray.
The Phone was dead, only the Vibration works on started.
If i press the Start-Botton again, the Home-Botton-Light flash,
that´s was all.
New flashing with SEUS brought no success
S1 is also a good Tool for easy "unblock Bootloader in 10 Second"
And the CyanogenMod 7.20
(original update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-urushi-signed)
ist the best Firmware for the Ray.
Absolut fast, so overclocking ca do.
My Ray works with 1,6 GHz without Probs.

FOR THE FUTURE, NO OTA UPDATE IF BOOTLOADER IS OPEN - THE FIRMWARE IS THEN BLOCKED FOR OTA
Greeting Onex1
Don't know if anyone can help me in my situation but I have a major problem arising from an OTA update too, my phone just refuses to read my SIM card. In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.
I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating OTA my phone bricked!
So, I searched high and low for a solution and ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'.
I've tried everything I can think of to fix this.. Hard resets, updating with Sony Update Service but nothing works. There's just so much conflicting info out there that I'm really confused at this stage. I have a perfectly good phone in that everything works bar the SIM and I'd hate to have to buy another one!
Any suggestions anyone or is my phone screwed for good? :/
Hey guys, so I was updating to latest Kitkat firmware OTA and the android guy with the red exclamation point appeared and boot looped.
So, I used Flashtool to correct this and... the phone died.
Can't power on, doesn't vibrate, no SONY logo, no LED blinking, nothing.
Windows installs drivers for QHSUSB_BULK and that's it.
In device manager it appears as SOMC Flash Device anda flashtool detects it but, I can't do anything about it.
15/012/2015 00:12:50 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
15/012/2015 00:12:50 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
That's what I get.
From searching around I think the boot partition is gone (?)
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm completly stuck here.
Did you try to turn it off with reset by the sim card? Then hold volume down (- button) connect to usb and flash ftf.
Good Luck.

It probably (hopefully) got stuck. Try to (soft) reset it. There is a very small button next to the SIM card slot. You would need a needle or something that small to push it. If that doesn't work I am afraid it would be better to take it to Sony assistance.

I've been using that button since forever...
Do you think it's related to the loader partition or something?
Maybe you ran out of battery? Does your phone charger when you plug in? Also try different usb, reboot your pc then try again. I had softbrick my phones few times but always fix it with Flashtool.
Press power off button (small one by the sim) and leave the phone, Open Flashtool, select ftf wait for the popup dialogue, press volume down, connet phone to usb. This is proces i always do.
Good Luck.

Boot Loop may be a problem
If your device get disconnected every 5-7 seconds than it is a bootloop which is not showing on screen but you can observe it in device manager
And you have to try different key combination to stop that boot loop while flashing

I tried to put AOSP 5.1 from FXP in my phone, and my cellphone bricked. It wont turn on, it keeps the Sony Logo 2 seconds. It haven't connection with flashtool. Please Help me.
Hi. Can you give me more information what you did exactly step by step. So maybe i can help you. My E3 was bricked too. I found a solution. But i need more information.
Flash stock rom it'll unbrick it
#4
Thank you answer back! I did exactly the following:
The model is my Xperia E3 D2212 dual sim.
- Unlocked the bootloader,
- CWM installed a custom recovery,
- I reinstalled the original rom,
- I made a backup of the entire system using CWM.
And everything went super normal way, without complications.
The mistake was when he wanted to installing a custom ROM called "AOSP_L_MR1_150718_flamingo" because I found out later that he had not read that it was for ANOTHER XPERIA as follow the you tube tutorial . The ROM's for another Xperia, if I remember correctly.
After doing the installation process of the new AOSP ROM, the phone is less than a minute on the logo of SONY XPERIA down with, looped, can not enter the bootloader, and no longer recognizes the PC. I can not recognize it at FlashTool. I think that's all. :crying:
I greatly appreciate your attention.
I ended up editing this text in the google translator, then I'm sorry, if you are not very good.
Thank you

The PC Companion software tells recognize it, but when you are installing the software says "it is not possible for this phone is changed." I can not scessar the bootloader does not give time and it shuts down.
Thanks, my error was with the fastboot driver and adb in flashtool. The Windows drivers wasn't been recognized, I've to install the drivers, all of they. After this, I Flashed the Stcok ROM, installed SuperSU and Restored the backup, everything works fine and fluid now. Thanks, anyway, for encouraging me.
I flashed my D2203 back to factory rom yesterday using Flashtool (flashtool.net/downloads.php) on Windows 7 PC.
How did I do it:
1) Install flashtool
2) Install Flashtool-drivers.exe from flashtool subfolder /drivers and select flashmode and fastboot drivers.
3) Run Flashtool and open XperiFirm (letters XF on logo)
4) Select Xperia E3 Flamingo -> proper D22** you have -> Market -> and select latest release below PayPal logo
5) Press "Download" and wait for download and unpacking
6) Switch off phone (if power on/off button does not respond then open back cover and push "OFF" by using pen)
7) Press and hold volume down button and connect phone to PC using original USB cable
8) Using Flashmode flash device
Hello, I need your help. I mention my problem: I have a XZ Premium (G8141) in the state of (BOOTLOOP) after updating the Android. I did the following: Try to repair the firmware with Xperia Companion, also flash with Newflasher and none of this worked for me. I would like to try to unlock the boot manager since I have it blocked but I can not because I do not have the USB debugging active. Any way to unlock the boot loader? Thank you very much and excuse me for my precarious English. Regards!

Can you describe what didn't work for you with Xperia Companion?
If you can't effect a repair with the Sony tool, the chances of you negotiating your way round finding and installing the drivers required and flashing the files required to root the phone, in the correct order seems pretty slim. The fact that the phone boots means that it's not bricked and the boot partition is ok.
There is no way to activate USB degug without getting into the OS, so repair or flash is the only option.
Have you installed the Sony drivers ? If you are using Windows 10 you will need to install these drivers with 'driver signing disabled' via safe mode.
You need to have the phone turned off comepletely before trying to connect it to Xperia companion repair, something that's easy to overlook. Hold the volume up(+) and the power button until the phone vibrates three times, then follow the instuctions on the compaion repair. Holding the volume down(-) when connecting the USB lead when asked to do so.

I tried installing the drivers that you gave me with the signatures of desperate drivers and now the Xperia Companion does not proceed to flash
Hello, the Xperia Companion tells me that it was restored perfectly. As for the drivers, they do not show me any errors in the device manager. Although I do not remember having installed them by deactivating the drivers' signature. I'll try that, although I doubt it works. Thanks for answering!
Hi everyone, im trying to downgrade my android to nougat and otw bricked the device. Im using flashtool to do this and the bad part is I forgot to turn on usb debug before. I tried using Xperia companion to fix this but and error came out saying "failure to get device info" kinda like. So is there any other way i can do this.
My phone is SOV35 au model with unlock bootloader not allowed but i flashed it to G8231 to unlock the sim. Any insight would really help on this. Thank you
First charge the phone.
Keep it switched off.
Here are the links
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xzs/how-to/oreo-xperia-xzs-g8232customized-ru1308-t3732394
There is a single sim.variant in he link too. Use Flashtool to flash these.
Start flashtool. Select appropriate firmware.
Click start flashing and then when it prompts.
Plug the cable in phone first and then pressing volume down plug it into PC. Wait until you see the green light in phone.
This should work.
