I'm using Google Camera Idan 1109 ver. 3.2.9 previous SG7Exy_v8 (exynos).
It is important that don't use a flashlight, just turn it off and after install reboot the phone.
Only one custom camera app works. Stock and one custom that's all.
My conclusion even the phone has a 24mpx the camera works terribly.
I have xioami 4x and it bits this A7 2018 as hell in google camera photo compare.
I don't know why the 24mpx camera is so weak.

Does the portrait mode works for you? For me it reboots the phone.
It`s working alright. Both for rear and for the front camera. Also with or without flash, with or without hdr. Also with burst series (taking pics as fast I can press the button).
As I said in my previous post I tested every single option to see if it`s really stable and at least for me everything works really stable.
The only problem is that it doesn`t save them as 24MP even if it is set in the options. It`s always 8MP size.
Strange. My phone reboots every time I select the portrait mode. Did you change any configs?
Nothing aside in the settings you can see in the screenshot in my earlier post.
The only thing I did may be differently before installation was to turn off the hdr in the build in camera app as per advise from somewhere. After that I went and turn it on and there were no problems at all. So now I have normally working samsung camera app and the gcam one. I can switch whatever I want in the apps and there are no problems.
I also have another camera app - CameraZoomFX (paid) with turned on Camera2 API and it also work ok with every available setting. I have even used them all at the same time to test what would happen - well nothing really. Everything works ok.
Did you enable camera2api on your phone is yes. How?

Btw yesterday I have tried many other versions for exynos cpus but only GCam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666__N6_1.8.apk worked ok all around.
Most of the other apps crashed on the start or I got to the options but the apps crashed few minutes after that.

I have already wrote it? Camera Zoom FX Premium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom , but I think that the free version would also let you select this option.
Aside from gcam and camera zoom I am currently testing few other apps:
HD Camera Pro (paid)
LG camera 7.1
Camera FV-5
CameraMX
Open Camera
After more than 700 pictures taken side by side with each app I have come to the conclusion that as for sharpness, details and balanced light HD Camera Pro is the best for indoors and Camera Zoom FX for outside day and night photography.
This ordeal took me over a week to do but was worth it.
The only problems with all these apps is that none of them supports the wide camera, it`s only available in the integrated samsung camera app.
I still hope for some time in the future we will got our hands on fully functional Gcam port with wide camera support. And I think that it would beat all of the above apps. I hope it would happen sooner than later.
I think the same. I hope Samsung will fix this. Is it possible to disable bokeh effect? I hate it because details are terrible

Just install the APK or root is necesary to install API?
I cant open Gcam in my A 7 2k18 what to do ? Every time i tap to camera icon it say camera keep stoping close app !
@Kalpsmart7 I somehow missed your post so I apologize for the late reply.
This is my way of fixing the problem.
Go into the apps section to the gcam app and force close it.
Then clear the cache for the app.
Then turn off HDR into the main camera app.
After that start the gcam app - it should start working normally.
Then you can go into the main camera app and turn on HDR again as it would not cause any more problems.
But as I said in my earlier posts although you can set the resolution at 24MP the end result will be in only 8MP.
I don`t know the reason for this problem but for now it`s like that. If I find other working port I`ll test it again.

Hi,
I got CM 11S flashed on my Chinese OPO, boot loader unlocked and rooted.
But the cam results are terrible.
1. Front camera though 5MP has better results.
2. Main camera, in Auto mode wit Flash set at auto, doesn't flash in darkness, if for some reason it does the pic results are so dull, creamy unsharp, despite that its a 13MP.
3. Flash sensor issues?
4. I got great results with Color OS initially......... and later when previously flashed CM 11 S over Color, they weren't that bad either..........may be by chance the the Color cam got ported over CM 11S?
5. So disappointed plan on going back to Color.

Some things that bug me about the One's camera:
1) pictures look destaurated and color's don't pop.
2) exposure is too dark in almost all cases
3) sharpness is no where near my nexus's 5 stock camera.
Nexus 5's camera is MUCH better.
Unless someone can tell me how to improve this, I just hate the one's camera. sucks.

My phone's issue is cam sucks with CM 11S?
When I got it CM 11S with cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed-fastboot OR cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed results of cam were not bad.
But with this OPO_64GB cam sucks.

For the camera, I don't know what to tell you, but it sees like you just want to modify the camera shutter and exposure settings to your preference. Or you can go into the themes/app section and reflash the stock camera.

I would have to manually over expose the camera EVERY TIME i launch the camera app. Annoying.
I've already installed Google Camera. The stock OnePlus camera and some other ones from the play store.
They all give the same results.
It's fundamentally a camera sensor issue.

Yea, that sounds amiss; personally, I haven't had any noticeable issues with my camera.
But shouldn't the settings persist though, so you don't have to do it EVERY time?
Am a a bit confused........does the Color cam give bad results or CM 11S cam?
Stock OnePlus camera and Google camera have similar results.....What do you imply by stock OP cam?
Is Google cam available at GPS, should I try installing it over CM 11S?

I've used the app Perfectly Clear to help edit brightness and saturation and have been very pleased.
Again, it's a camera phone. You can't expect DSLR quality. Great lighting is key with these sensors.

I have seen some complaints but for the less than two days I have had this phone camera has been wonderful.
Outside in good light is on par with most flagships in my opinion and low light is OK but have seen few phones that are better.
Been using slimkat with Google camera and response time is great with auto mode

I had working 1080p Slow motion on the Galaxy S7 Camera but can not get it to work with the new version. Still working on that.

Let me make some suggestions:
- There is no reason to increase 1080p to 80mbit/s, because you won't see any more details than on 30mbit/s which seems the culprit (default is 17mbit/s)
- Slow motion modded to 240fps on 1080p sounds promising but you miss to tell us the bitrate
- JPG quality at 100% will only double the size of the pictures taken but do not eliminate any loss in detail <- this is only produced due to aggressive postprocessing (oversharpening). Set it to 98% instead and you will have smaller files with identical quality to 100% (default is 96%)
- Maybe you will find a switch in the apk to turn off postprocessing completely (for taking pictures), then we will be able to take jpeg in raw quality and just had to eliminate noise on high ISO
- Maybe you should try to get S8 camera apk running on our S7. This will be interesting due to new (real) HDR mode

i have released it on telegram channels(Superman and darkSide) as for now, got even aqua mode make it working, and added in settings quick launch with home(removed useless power)

His modified Google Camera app gets portrait mode — the camera effect that blurs out your selfie’s background and brings your face into focus — to smartphones with Samsung’s in-house Exynos processors, which include the international editions of the Galaxy S7, S8, and Note 8. With the app installed and a few tweaks applied in the Settings menu, it’s seamless — albeit a bit slower than devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon system-on-chips. And for now, it only works on the rear-facing camera.

Crashes when switched to front camera. And my device(galaxy s7 Exynos) restarts when video is set to 60 fps. So far so good with the rear cam.

No dice, neither version 1.1 or 1.2 works, v1.1 dosn't give any changes in portrait mode or HDR+ and version 1.2 error out with " can't connect to camera"

I am curious which gcam version are you using for your Mi Note 3 since I want to make sure that we are using the best version possible.
I have Global Stable 10.1.2 Rom (Nougat) and below are the only apps that are working to some extent, but share yours if you think your version is better/has more working options. Unfortunately, there are no Gcam versions with Night Sight for Nougat, but do share them with the rest of us, pointing out which android version you are using.
For Nougat:
Arnova's v8.3b1: GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk---------- good for taking photos with HDR+ enhanced, NO good for video, front camera is also no good, no night sight, no slow motion. Panorama, photo sphere and Lens Blur seem to be working.
v5.3.015 v.1.0.15 final--------good only for 4K video not Full HD, No good for photos, no front camera, no night sight, no slow motion. Panorama, photo sphere and Lens Blur seem to be working.
Do share your opinion and improve the discussion. DONT ASK FOR INSTRUCTIONS! There are plenty of topics about that. Just share if you installed gcam.

It is more about what settings do you use. GCam 5 would be perfect for me since with nexus 6p back camera is the best but selfie one is bad so when I was on MIUI I was using mostly arnova's Gcams also we have @WebDingo who made one port of GCam special for our device so you can use that one too with his settings.

I understand your point, but the thing is different versions have different options working. Here are 2 more versions that a user shared on another forum
GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.3_build.6.1.021.apk: Night mode, Photobooth, faster capture and processing time in general, slow motion not working (probably working on Oreo only)
GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk: for slow motion with sound only as everything else is slower here (works on Nougat)
Also If you are on a beta with Oreo, I advise you to check the Pixel 3 mods since they have Night Sight and it is amazing (please see below)

Yeah, GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.3_build.6.1.021.apk is working on my lineageos 15.1 and if you ask me, significant improvement from stock camera and gcam pixel 2 mod. Night sight is also working. But you have to install xiaomi mi a2 camera magisk module first to use it.

I have installed the following module on my a freshly installed Lineage 15.1 build with firmware from 8.11.1:

... and the GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.3_build.6.1.021.apk released on 2018-11-27, but it just crashes. What are you doing differently?

Ok, first you have to install front camera hdr+ fix magisk module if you haven't already.
Then you have to flash the following magisk module.

Then install the mentioned gcam and enjoy.

Thanks for the feedback. It might be worth mentioning that your link doesn't seem to work, but I resolved the issue by installing the Mi A2 Magisk Module and the following camera.

So I'm using EU stable 10.2.3 Rom and these are the details for the gcams
Although I installed the fix for Front camera, I couldn't find a single camera that will have the front camera working for me!
These are not working for me at all

I have vierd bug. Back cam doesn't work normally with this GCam version but it works when I select portrait mod. I am on miui. Eu last stable rom. Do you know anything about this?

on miui10.2 eu, with pixel 3 in back cam and nexus 6p on the front cam, all works execept for slow motion, i guess some magisk module should fix it, but im too lazy to figure it out.. and slow motion u can use on miui cam.

Hi, did you check if there is a setting in BSG mod menu named FIX. If it exists check for Slow motion and change it to 120fps.

If you don't enable RAW Capture, you'll get a black screen and only video recording will work.
GCamsBSG's MGC 8.1Download (I suggest you to download the com.samsung.android.scan3d version)
Advantages:
Very stable, handles all the cameras without any problems
LOTS of configurations, each camera module can have different settings
Disadvantages:
Slow performance, but this is expected in our low-end phone. However, other GCams are a little faster, specially when switching between modes (photo, video recording, night sight...)
Slow Motion doesn't work

@TBM13's config: Enables the wide camera and disables the zoomed front camera. On the back camera, increases sharpness, sets correct AWB model and enables motion photo. Download

Tutorials:
Enable wide camera
Remember that your ROM needs to expose it. For more information check the FAQ below.
Go to Settings->Modules>White list then type 50 , press Ok and restart the app
Enable motion photos
Go to Settings->Global and enable "Motion Photo"
Go to Settings->Modules->Back (1.0) and set "Module hardware level" to "Level 3". This will make Motion Photo work on the back camera.
If you want to enable Motion Photo on other camera modules, repeat this same process on them.
FAQ / IssuesBlack screen. Only video recording worksMake sure you installed the Magisk module to enable RAW Capture.
Sometimes the phone lags / freezes / reboots while using GCamThis happens to me quite a lot. Sometimes the phone freezes and I have to reboot it holding volume down + power key, and other times it reboots itself. This is most likely a software issue on our camera library, and nothing can be done for now.
Closing all other apps before opening GCam seems to help a lot with both the overall performance and stability, so I suggest to do this.
Wide camera is not detected / doesn't appearYour ROM needs to expose it. You can check this using the Camera2 API Probe app: if it's being exposed, you should see a camera with ID 50 at the bottom of the list.
Additionally, some GCams also require to change some setting.
How to expose the wide camera?If your ROM doesn't expose the wide camera, as far as I know nothing can be done.
However, if you are using PHH's AOSP GSI or any other based on it (like LineageOS GSI, Pixel Experience GSI, etc.), you can expose it by going to Settings->PHH Treble Settings->Samsung Features-> Tick "Enable access to all cameras" and reboot.
Photos aren't saving when HDR is enabledThis seems to be an issue in newer GCams, like in BSG's GCams newer than 8.1.
I haven't found a fix for this.
Night sight photos are pinkish and blurryThis seems to be a common issue in all GCams.
A workaround is to lock AF/AE, which can be done by pressing any part of the screen to focus and then pressing the lock that appears at the top right.
This needs to be done every time before you take a photo with Night Sight.
Slow motion doesn't work!I haven't found any GCam with working slow motion as of now. Seems like our phone just doesn't support it.

Not right now. I will soon add two (mine, which just makes it easier to get the wide camera to appear, and another guy's config which modifies colors and contrast).

Firefox on mobile. I was able to download it on firefox desktop, idk why it's not working on firefox android.

I have cleaned the thread a little bit and also uploaded my config for BSG's 8.1 GCam. Most of its changes are on the back camera, as I made it for personal use and I don't really use the front and wide cameras. It'll probably be updated over time, when that happens I'll try to notify it by commething here.
