i started facing charging issue many months ago. I was using official cable and adapter provided by OnePlus. Many times my phone was plugged in and led light showing that phone is charging but it wasn't charging in real and instead showing negative current/ draining battery. I used ampere and accubattery app to check this. I bought new cables and adapters but after few days it came back again. I went to local shop. He changed something on the charging port. Our of 3 cables only 1 cable worked properly for me. When I tested in his shop charging was working well I checked it 20 times by plugging and unplugging.
Now I was using the cable that was working fine for me. I was using sultanxda 7.1.2 ROM now I changed to Andi's slim recent 6.0.1. Sometimes the charging is slow and sometimes it's fast. I didn't face similar issue on sultanxda 7.1.2. I can't understand what the exact problem is with the hardware of my phone
Have you tried franco kernel r56? Idk it may solve that
Charging problems have been fixed about a week ago, just update to a rom that has a build after 30 october (like the latest sultanxda build). Charging drivers have been reverted to the old ones and everything is fine now

My phone is taking forever to charge since yesterday, and the only thing that changed was I updated to COI5. Was never rooted. My phone has been on the charger for 4 hours and is 63%. I've tried different chargers and power bricks, all which worked fine yesterday. I would get a full charge in under 2 hours. My current time to full from 63% is 2 hours 13 minutes.
Anyone else noticing this after update?
Same happening for me, actually. I noticed after last week's T-Mobile update that my phone doesn't really fast charge.
Are you talking about the 30mb update?
Whatever OTA update I got yesterday for Samsung Pay

Yes, I have.
When you plug it in, make sure it say fast charging. I noticed that it sometimes shows cable charging, I then replug it until it say fast charging.

I'll have to try that Roger, as I've noticed the same thing. Really slow to charge now, so perhaps I needed to reseat the cable. On a positive note, I tried Samsung Pay at PetSmart today, and have to admit, I was very, very impressed.
After the update i noticed i have to plug ,unplug , replug for fast charging to work as well
I heard the same problem. it was an app that i installed which was causing that problem. problem solved after installing all my apps.

I'm having this same problem and it's driving me nuts...
From my troubleshooting I found it to be the Samsung charger. Every Samsung micro USB cable including the one that came with the phone. If I use any other micro USB it charges fast. Any Qualcomm fast charge brick works better than the Samsung brick as well. All the combinations I tried that is what I found. Use a moto quick charge brick and any micro USB cable. It seems that whatever update was sent out only let's us charge through USB 1.0 amp and after 3 or more tries fast charge with the Samsung cable and adapter. Not sure how or why that was done, but every other cable charges 2.0 amp and fast charge on first try
Weird my note 5 fast charging started acting up as well. Also my phone somehow went into factory mode while it was off all I did was plugged in the charger too. Been having a lot of issues with the Note 5, exchanged once already now my new phone is having the same issues still.
Im also having issues with fast charging. this is really pissing me off....
For the last three months my G920F automatically connects and disconnects from the charger when it is connected to the wired charger. It happens quite oftenly when the battery is charging from 0 to 20 percent and when there are more apps opened i.e. the phone is drawing more current. This connection problem slows down after 20% though. I haven't noticed this on wireless charging. I ve bought a new cable and charger and the problem still persists. The phone will automatically disconnect and connect in a fraction of a second without moving any cable or phone.
So is it a damaged usb port or is it some kind problem with the charging IC? I am using orignal fast charger and cable and i have tried dozen other cables and chargers. Knox is tripped though.

Sounds like it could be the charging port if you have tried different chargers and cables, apart from that you can try flashing a new rom, just remember to back up.

Already tried that. Right now i am on stock marshmallow with space x kernel.
have the same issue since ~3 months. Its happening fitfully and i think about sending it into repair.
I was also using different chargers and cables but the issue still exists. So far the only work around is using wireless charging. I'm on Stock 6.0.1 btw

Please let me know exactly what do they replace as i have to do that myself here.
Last night I upgraded to the latest firmware via ota AQF7 . Everything went smooth BUT ONE THING WHICH I NOTICE THAT THE FAST CHARHING IS NOT WORKING NOW IT ALWAYS SHOWS CABLE CHARGING AND CHARGING TIME IS ALSO 4 TO 5 HOURS. I am using the same charging and same cable which I have been using before. Can someone please confirm me is there any new security patch in the update which enables us now not to use cables except the original cables which came in the box?

I have that firmware really haven't noticed a difference. I charge mostly wireless though will plug in later and test but can you give a percentage as a baseline test.

AQEH did it to mine. Wonder if it broke the hardware? I will not be happy. Tempted to do a factory reset, just don't want to waste time if they fix it soon in a firmware.

1st of all: YOU DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT...!
No problems at all with Fast Charging (Wireless & Adapter -> all original)
Who's your carrier? I'm on AT&T, and my fast charging still works fine with AQF7, using the original charger and cable (I haven't tried with any other accessories).
Fast charging still working with original charger and fast charges wirelessly as well (latest update on VZW)
Mine still works fine, using Samsung oem block cord and wireless pad
After update my phone won't charge shows it charging but keeps draining while plugged in. I'm with T-Mobile. This sucks. Hope they fix this soon.

Had the same issue yesterday. Switched to another cable and no more slow charge warning. Cable was nylon braided and gently used for under 30 days. Cheers
Factory reset did not fix my wireless charging. This will be my last samsung after all these problems with note5, note 7 and now S8+.
It's just that the cable is not fully in the charger. Push it back, it'll be fine

Hi, I rooted my device last year, tried different roms.
After sometime I flashed the stock rom, it was running all fine for sometime but there was some heating problem when charging or using the device. Then one day the display cracked, I ordered a compatible display from aliexpress and that worked....
Now last night I connected the charging cable and forgot to check it. And in morning phone was unable to switch on and not charging, so I changed the cable but it also not worked, now whatever cable I use the get burned.
Is the any possible way to fix it?
Kindly help.
I have a T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro that I converted to the international firmware and recently got Android 10. Everything has mostly been good except since the upgrade I've noticed that a lot of the power adapters I have around the house just aren't charging the device. I'll plug my phone in and the battery icon will show a charging symbol, but the lock screen won't show that it's charging. Curiously, I have my phone set to display a clock as a screensaver only when charging, and that will activate when plugged in, so the phone definitely thinks it's charging. Two of the chargers were from my old Pixel 2 XL, and over the weekend I bought a third, brand new charger that initially seemed to work but I woke up this morning and my phone hadn't charged at all. Tried multiple outlets in the house and it's the same story. I have the Warp Charger at my desk at work and haven't had any issues with that.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I am experiencing this too. As are a few others on the OP Community forums. If you look into the battery settings it will say "plugged in- can't charge" or something like that. With the USB plugged in and rebooting the device it will start charging. Others have said a roll-back to Pie will fix the issue, but other than that no solution yet. I think the issue has been more with alternative cables. Using the stock brick and cable should work still.
I am having the same issue. My MacBook and pixel chargers used to charge my phone but as the person above mentioned now says my phone is plugged in and unable to charge. So it essentially maintains the phone at the same percentage indefinitely.
Using the original OnePlus charger works. I'm assuming this is a bug OnePlus needs to work out with Android 10 as this wasn't the case with Pie.
I'm in the same boat. It's driving me NUTS. The same USB C cables worked just fine on Pie. Now it's almost every single time I plug my phone in it says "Plugged in, but can't charge" or something like that.
Here how I fixed the problem on my Oneplus 7 pro running android 10
Same thing happened to me. It was very annoying, so I test many usb cables. I found out that the issue is with the usb cables not from the charger.
So I enabled developer options, and I went to the debugging section and I enabled USB debugging option. And all the USB cables started working and my phone started charging ?.
I turned off the USB debugging and it's still charging.
Hope this method will work with you guys.
I had assumed it had something to do with Android 10's new features regarding USB security and preventing USB based attacks and exploits, but I figured that Android would show some notification about it being turned on whenever USB was plugged in. At least I know I'm not alone in this, I was scared my phone might have been going bad.
