I was wondering if there's a way that I could capture my g2x screen as a video instead of a screen shot like hypercam on a computer?
CM7 nightly 90 with Latest Trinity kernel
I get what you're saying BUT can you be specific in just what you're trying to capture as video???

I'm not sure of an app that can do that but I know there's a desktop java application that does here: http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
If you need any help with using it, let me know!
What i meant was i want to capture whats going on on my phone screen ( not a screenshot which is a picture) i want to record whatever is going on on my my screen continuously) For example if i want to record a game of papijump (most simple example) how would i be able to do so? is there any way?

Did you look at the link I posted above? That application does exactly that, you just have to have your phone plugged into your computer to record.
Just a share from here. As you all might know this camera was leaked from the Google Edition ROM for HTC One and GS4, but edit feature caused fc on our devices... I've come up with the solution, very easy, just install it as a normal app! If you want to pre-load it in your ROM, put it in data/app!
NOTES:
1.If you have 4.2 camera, you might need to uninstall before installing this. Go to /system/app and delete GalleryGoogle or Gallery2. Then install this one
2.Photosphere obviously does not show because our device does not have gyroscope.
3.Making it system app causes the edit feature to fc

High dynamic range - for higher contrast still images, great for low light conditions. I'll not install this due to the lack of HDR.

Ohh didn't know, thanks!
Selfio is a unique app with a patented idea of using front cam of your device to frame and back cam to shoot the same image.
Frame your selfie using front cam.
Flip such that back cam faces you
Device senses flip and shoots your selfie in HD with flash if needed.
It is available on play store now and will soon be available on app store too. Please download and tell me what you guys think. It uses magnetometer to sense flipping. Working on gyro sensing now.
Nice app but most of the time the delay is very long and picture gets blurred by moving the device. There should be a help section or tutorial.
nice
Great app work but sometime fails to give hd image.Quality is not too fine,,as it delays while capturing image.
Thank you guys

Anand, have you tried setting resolution to maximum inside the settings? also, can you share what device you are using? Because we are aware of a bug on Nexus 5 and a few other devices and we are fixing it with next update.

Thahim, thank you for your comments. Can you let me know what device you tried it on? Also, help is inside the settings gear. We are trying to design a better design for the tutorials.
Since I've been using using Google camera as my default camera app I've noticed that when taking selfies it brings a mirror effect to the photo taken. I compared this with my sister's iphone and I noticed that problem! I see no option for reversing that effect, is there any alternative?

Hello,
You may try using any other camera app available on playstore.
Also if you still run into issue, you may try asking it here Ask any Q Noobfriendly with all relevant details.

I can sit back and wait awhile just to be safe. The only important update is security patch released on May.
Isn't this supposed to be the update with EIS? That would be sweet. (just curious, it's not available for me yet)

If they given EIS, then it would be another plus for this device.![emoji6]

Doesn't seem like EIS but nvm, let's stay optimistic correcting of colors of AI photos is sweet too, they're too oversaturated now.
Is the update out in India?
So I got the 8.1.0.120 update like an hour ago (I'm on C432) and here are my first thoughts.
1) Photos seem less saturated so there is better color representation (or it seems so to me.). There also is a separate icon in top left in the camera app for searching the objects you shot in Amazon (useless for me), however from there you can access the QR reader. Also, if you have AI on, it will now show a brief text informing you about whatever scene it recognised. There is no EIS.
2) Fingerprint sensor which has been kinda frustrating to use for some of us since launch seems more responsive (might be subjective, ofc it isn't relevant enough after an hour of testing...). After the phone is updated it deletes every finger you had scanned before and add them again.
3) There's this new 'Party mode' app that let's you play music simultaneously on more phones via NFC which I haven't tried (and most likely won't).
4) There are some new Themes, LaMer one is kinda cool.
5) This update also should improve battery life, if it's noticeably better / worse I'll let you know in a few days.
edit 1: There are more options in Notch settings now.

My bad, you're right. Shouldn't it be available in photo mode too?
Any update for COL-AL10??

It would be useless, so no EIS for photo mode is OK.

Wouldn't be shooting at night much better with stabilization?
No it wouldn't. EIS works way differently than OIS. It shifts image from frame to frame of video to counteract the motion. This is why the video is zoomed bit more, because areas of sensor outside of frame acts as motion buffers. This is why you can't use it on photos. Thus lot of manufacturers has this function on still photos, but this is just marketing BS. They just use higher ISO for faster shutter speeds, but at cost of excessive noise.
Really happy with this update.... Photos are better in low light , fingerprint works better, and battery life is very good
Update it too, finger print scan much faster now. Previously a few times needed before it register and unlock. And battery life also improved. The rest haven't noticed/tried yet.
Slow refocusing in video recording
Hi
I applied the 8.1.0.120 (C636) update and finding problems when recording video (in any resolution/fps). Since this was very shortly after I got the phone, I don't know whether caused by the update or not.
1. For moving object, the focus is noticeably slow to readjust, so the focused object blurs, even with small movement, before it gets refocused. I have tried with the Object Tracking ON which is slightly better but still have the problem.
2. The Object Tracking option is available only in video settings. I definitely remember before the update this option was available also for photo. This itself is not so much an issue, but in video settings if I turn this ON, keeps getting reset to OFF when I exit the camera app.
Anyone else facing this, specially issue no. 1, I am wondering whether it is a hardware problem?
Thanks
