im running cm11 on my note 3/s4 and dont really like the standard camera app,not easy to use/handle
This is Camera from Motorola and I Tested in my note 3 running a CM11 rom and all works fine and its much!!!!!!! easier to use

Just installed in on the Google edition Rom by Danvdh and it works without any problems. Took some pictures tried some settings. It is actually a fast camera app.
Will take it for a spin tomorrow, take some pictures outside.

I've tested this camera although it doesn't have many options like Galaxy camera app
However, photos do look a lot sharper and brighter.
And speed is really good as well.

Just installed but unfortunately it says 10mp not 13. Was looking forward to a more basic camera that's quick without all the tw bloat but I want to make the most of my cameras quality

It Works 10mp is default, just untap the 10mp section it will change in 13mp
How to change default storage to external SD?
Hi all,
Its a great fast camera. But I wonder is there any way to change the default storage location to external SD card?
The menu is in grey color which was not available to tocuh.

Using it on the same Rom but while it does work not all options as shown in the OP are present.
Less scenes, less picture effects, 13mp option seems to be cropped. The things that do work are nice though :good:

on my note 3 everything is working perfect
tested on my wife her s4 mini stock unrooted
she hast 5 scenes and 6 effects!!

Just want to confirm that it work flawless and very nice. I got 9 effects and 5 scenes, work perfectly in Crash v14 ROM with Perseus 17 kernel.....

I guess when the Samsung camera app is available more options can be used. On AOSP/CM Roms it seems some things are being disabled.
Removed the Moto camera as the quality was way below the other app (A Better Camera) I'm using, probably due to above mentioned fact, don't know otherwise

Do the 3rd party camera apps (such as Manual Camera, FV-5, Open Camera etc.) do any image processing themselves or are they simply handed the already crappy processed jpg by the firmwear?
If they do no processing themselves then what would be the reason to use any of them as they couldn't produce any better images than the baked in camera?

most of them use Android API (Camera/Camera2 API)
some of them use their own API
If you don't like captured images by Xperia Camera it just how they approach in their apps. other devs can do better or worse.
but you need to test few apps to find what you prefer.

Ah thank you. Any suggestions? Looking for one that doesn't over process the jpegs so much as the Xperia camera, that way I have something a little better to work with in LR.

I feel like image quality gets crippled for third party apps by the firmware. Not being able to save raw images is this phones worst part.

Ah thanks, I'll take a look at it also.
I installed Manual Caamera and FV-5 (full paid versions of each). Both only show 1/10 second as slowest shutter speed (built in camera goes down to 1 second) and both have only 8mp as max resolution (built in app also has 20mp and 23) . I'm assuming that 1/10sec and 8mp is all the Sony passes though the API and that the baked in camera has more direct access

Yes, Sony has limited the Camera2 API manual controls so that the 3rd-party camera apps can not use the full potential of the sensor. I initialized a discussion about that some time ago - https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/help/enable-manual-controls-camera-t3580654 , but, unfortunately, nothing can be done about that.
Well FV-5,doesn't work (Lite and paid version) . It will take one or two pictures usually then locks up with the circle spinning in the center as though it can't obtain focus. Only way to get it to work again is to Uninstall and reinstall. Then same repeat, one or two photos and lockup again
I faced that issue as well but is somehow magically disappeared some time after.

At the starting point of this thread, I present you ported autoexposure tables from the Pixel. It won't likely positevely or negatively affect quality of your videos and photos, but it should certainly fix the exposure bugs (inconsistent framerate in Camera 1 API 120 fps mode and exposure flashes on Camera2 API apps, such as Google Camera).
The libs are few, but that's because they are the only chromatix autoexposure libs on Pixel. I plan to release BB KeyOne/Nokia/XZ1 versions likely.
Why the Liteon ones only? If you have such a module as Semco, then inform me here and I may work on it too.
Won't my device go boom? Not likely. I mean, I don't want to help fixing placebo bricks Just reflash your current ROM, that's it.
From what version those libs are? 7.9.7 (xiaomi.eu). If something big gets changed or something will start to work bad, then I likely will fix it one day.
How to even use them? ??? Use your root file manager and replace the current ones with mine in /system/vendor/lib/. Set 0644/rwrr permissions for each file. And better backup the original ones, as I won't download a system dump to send you those ;_;

Just as I said, copypaste the files :> I tested them a while after the first post, then I edited everything to clear any doubts. Works properly on my capricorn, xiaomi.eu (based on China Dev) 7.9.7.

Yes I know but I am a big Magisk fan and port for my self every system mod to Magisk so it can be restored after a update or a clean install.

Ah, I misunderstood you Test on Google Camera and Snapdragon Camera. Google Camera needs special media profiles, but they are available on LOS Github already.

Works on everything, but it may be incompatible somehow with some very very old libs, but I think LOS is using some that are not more than month old.
Anyway, I'll realease a max resolution mod. As the default photo input is 4000x3000, video input is 3840x2160, while we can get 4048x3036 and 4032x2268.

Edit: The problem was just the capricorn_exposure_7_9_7_pixelised. Reverted to stock libs now everything is good.

Try it. Not sure if it checks the SDK number or not. Worst that happen is you remove it and restore the camera backup you should make before removing old and installing new camera apk
Be aware that while it does install in stable 9.0 OOS, the nightscape thing doesn't do anything to the final photo (already did comparisons). I've read reports of it working on OB6 so stable users have to wait for an update.
It freezes the camera app for me. Uninstalled.
New stable OOS is out. Thats inside now.

I'm having some issues with the new camera on 9.0.2. The night mode actually looks worse because it seems to apply a weird oil painting effect and it blurs out details. Aside from that the portrait mode edge detection and blur quality is absolutely garbage. There is no way to change the "beauty" filter now apparently (the slider for it was removed?). And I can't get the studio lighting feature to work.
Can anyone help?

Night mode is what it is and can be further improved, it's just software. About beauty mode, yes the slider is still there. If it isn't for you try to clean flash. Studio Lightning is, from what I've read, something that happens automatically for portrait pictures, meaning it isn't a mode/slider/option.

Are you sure the beauty mode slider is still there for rear camera? I have it for front facing camera, but for rear camera it's just "on-off". I tried wiping cache and data of the camera app but that did nothing to help.

You never specified which camera you were talking about so how would I be sure? The answer is no in that case. Slider isn't there but then again, if this is a feature request or a missing feature report, you should post that information in the official stable thread for OOS.

*•*photo 2. iso :2000 shutter at 0.4 with manual wb at 4200+/-
*•*photo 3. iso : 400 shutter at 5 and wb at 4060k.
*•*photo 4. iso : 1600 shutter at 8 and wb at 4060k (extreme low light conditions)
Tripod used : Tripod was used for shot 3 and 4, I used a $5 one with a $1 phone mount. Something an everyday consumer would be able to get.

Comments:
obviously leaving the shutter open draws in more light but it also captures more yellow. so i just manually tune that and save it as a preset. because night photos usually need to be cooled. I tried to use as low iso as possible in the settings to try reduce any unnecessary noise caused by high iso.
photo 2's settings are nice if you dont have tripod. as you can see the noise is significantly decreased and has way better sharpness. but still kept relatively the same exposure.
then for settings of the 3rd photo are my favorite. you need a tripod. but i mean it cames out amazing. even beats low light mode.
The 4th photo and settings are for extreme low light conditions and you'll need a tripod too.

i can mod MiuiCamera apk to unlock some disabled by default features like night mode for front camera, boost hdr level, add more filters and etc, but for now i have locked bootloader. However i can make flashable Twrp and post here ??

Whatever can make my phone take better pictures while a real Gcam mod is available for this phone.
Does anyone know what the settings do? I noticed that disabling the settings above and below the setting with the chinese characters slows down taking photos, but also slightly improves the photo quality.

I have tried this in my Mi 9 Lite, but I don´t see anything happen, nothing with the folder and no more settings. I already had all settings shown in your pic.
Maybe I misunderstood what you mean by "force close". Could you explain'?
Edit: Disregard from above question. English is not my native language, so I had a confusion on terminology. Still, nothing happens when I force stop.

What are MFNR, SR, Magic Tools and Quickshot?
i would really appreciate that some pro might explain all those hidden setting how it works
