My Nexus 5 just randomly started crashing (soft reboot) about an hour ago. It's rooted but I haven't installed any apps or done anything else that I haven't done before on it when it started. I've only been using Facebook Messenger in a chat head over various apps when it does crash but that's normal usage isn't it? The first 3 times were about 5-10 minutes apart and the next 2 were maybe 15 minutes between each other. I cannot think of anything that would cause this.
Yes I did factory reset the device before flashing (seemingly unrelated issue regarding 32GB being detected as 16GB). It is just stock Android 5 as I don't know of any custom ROMs available at the moment.
Any help is appreciated!

Do a factory reset
Same issue
whenever i want to play an audio file on whatsapp, the app goes crazy and it crashes, the audio continues to play while the phone becomes unresponsive .. i need to turn the phone off in order to get back the phone into a stable situation .. Please someone just let us know what the issue is and how to solve it??
I tried factory reset, it didn't work
There is an issue with the phone spontaneously rebooting in areas with low LTE reception. Fix has been announced by Google, I wonder if it will be included in the final 8.1 release?
Not gonna link the announcement, google yourself
FYI, seems to be solved with 8.1. Had an uptime of 345 hours days when I rebooted today for another reason.
Still have that problem with stock, unrooted, final 8.1 and after a factory reset and fresh install of apps. It's very annoying.
Hi, I have a nokia 6 TA-1025 (first version) with android 8.1 and almost always it is so slow, so laggy, many often when wifi is enabled or when wifi loses signal or when bluetooth is active, when I want to make a call, the phone app takes too long starting or opening an app takes too long too (whatsapp), I have not so much apps, I have "lite versions" of the apps (facebook, fb messenger, skype) some other bank apps. The camera app also takes too long opening (any app that uses the camera takes too long opening it), I have a lot of free space, no sd card, only one sim, and so on... as I said, it is too slow almost always (most when it is charging). I had a moto g4plus and I had never issues with it.
Whan can you suggest me? a factory reset? buy a new phone
Thanks
Are you sure that that phone is legit?
Mine is pretty responsive all the time. Also, my battery lasts pretty long, sometimes 2 days but mostly 1,5.
I suggest you to look into the battery settings and check out the background blacklist. I have observed that sometimes some apps are removing themselves from that list.
Android shows which apps are draining the battery in the accu settings too, so be sure to check that out and maybe remove misbehaving apps.
Edit:
If you upgraded to Oreo without wiping data, this COULD be the reason too. In this case, you should backup your data and wipe cache + do a factory reset. Although I cannot tell for sure that is is the reason.
You can also try wiping the cache from recovery without doing a factory reset. This will not erase any userdata.

I updated to 8 without wiping, I will try the cache wiping first, if it does not work, I will try the factory reset
I did a cache partition wipe and it looks like it solved the problem, I will keep testing, thanks
if you have rooted your cell then use swap torpedo module for magisk
you will feel the difference.

I'm afraid to brick it, do you have a good tutorial for rooting it?
No. My device TA-1021 is not slow, but when i talking in Skype call, the app becomes laggy.
My TA-1025 slows down most noticeably when it auto launches Android Auto on Bluetooth connection in stand-alone mode. Especially when switching to maps. The only way to make it more responsive is to clear all running apps before launching AA. It is quite frustrating.

I have the TA-1025 variant and it's not slow at all nor do I have connectivity issues. In fact, I'm rather impressed with this device, given it's price-point.
I have noticed that every time I install an android update, the system slows down, I have to wipe cache from bootloader and then it becomes fluid again.
Hi all,
I've a Moto G3 (2015) smartphone that, since few weeks, has a very weird problem. It starts using a very high CPU % and so the device become really hot and the battery goes down in a very little time.
I've already done the reset (multiple times) and started fresh, with no imported backups and installing the apps one by one manually (and only few of them). But the problem still is there, without a precise reason (sometimes just after the reset, without any new installed/upgraded app, sometimes after some days and without any changes from the day before...)
All I can see is that when it happens the PlayStore stops working... It can't install new app, nor update any of the installed ones
I tried several guides form the web about the PlayStore problem but no one work... I've everytime to reset the phone and start anew
Has someone the same problem?
Thanks in advance
I bought new OnePlus 6, 6gb Ram Variant.
After using for first few minutes I got a crash while trying to open Photos app, then some 20mins later I went to storage to Clear Up Space Blue Button..keeps crashing wont Open........so 12hrs later tried to factory reset...man i got so many hiccups trying to factory reset...took me 1hr and idk maybe 25 retries to factory reset..wifi wont connect or after finishing the setup i still get random bugs...so alas I did get a good reset....just google play store crashed while it was updating like 25 apps.........man already new phone so many crashes why?
Then i went to software updates i see no updates...........should i update to latest version of Android Oreo and stop there or.................go for 9/10/11......whats the best out of 9/10/11 and should i stick to end of oreo instead?
You can flash the last update of OOS 10.3.12. Which is i am currently running. Do not flash 11 it has many bugs.

flash stock with msm to solve crashing issue
OOS is EOL for OP6 & 6T
Flash custom rom
for better battery back, support & stability
my suggestion Lineage OS, Pixel Experience & Ricedroid
Lineage Os 19.1 works great, no bugs. NFC payment with Google Wallet works too.
