My Nexus 5 just randomly started crashing (soft reboot) about an hour ago. It's rooted but I haven't installed any apps or done anything else that I haven't done before on it when it started. I've only been using Facebook Messenger in a chat head over various apps when it does crash but that's normal usage isn't it? The first 3 times were about 5-10 minutes apart and the next 2 were maybe 15 minutes between each other. I cannot think of anything that would cause this.
Yes I did factory reset the device before flashing (seemingly unrelated issue regarding 32GB being detected as 16GB). It is just stock Android 5 as I don't know of any custom ROMs available at the moment.
Any help is appreciated!

I couldn't find anything in the forums about this but it seems to be a widespread problem with the Centura. There are threads about it at phandroid.com as well as the area51 forums. I'll just paste the email I sent to Straight Talk and Samsung to explain what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Here's the email:
Hello,
I'm just writing to let you know about the time problem with the Samsung Galaxy Centura. Sometimes it will set the time back 5 or 6 hours depending on the time zone. For me, un-checking auto date and time as well as time zone and then checking them back fixes the problem. My wife's fixed itself within 10 minutes. However, others aren't so lucky. It's only happened to me twice but it is very widespread and happens to some people several times a week. It's all over several forums and no one has found a fix yet. I just thought that the more people let you know about it, the better the chance is for a fix.
Over on androidforums.com, someone wiped their system cache in recovery mode and the time problem didn't come back for 3 weeks. I did the same and so far I haven't had the time problem and I've also noticed that the lag I was experiencing with the notification bar is completely gone. I'm going to start clearing the cache weekly just to see if the time problem or notification lag comes back. If it doesn't I think we may have found a workaround.
I contacted straight talk corporate and they told me to un-check the auto time and time zone settings, reboot the phone, clear the system cache, or do a complete system restore. IMO if clearing the system cache regularly eliminates the issue it's the most simple solution since it may stop the issue before it has a chance to happen. Only time will tell.
Hi all,
I'm really hoping I can get some advice here. I broke my OnePlus 6 and it's been in the repair centre for a month so far with no estimated repair date in sight, so I bought what was supposed to be a great phone as a back up, the Nokia 6.1.
Since the last two weeks I've had a nightmare. The phone works like a device that cannot handle basic apps and even the Android 8.1 OS.
For example, texting in WhatsApp the phone will freeze and do nothing for about 5-10 seconds and the buttons pressed all happen at once when it comes back to life.
Multitasking is impossible on this device. Using apps like Google Maps or Photos is a dreadful experience. I often reboot and try and open only one app at a time but it does not improve.
I deleted everything from the phone and set it up again and it's exactly the same. I keep the number of apps used at a minimum and I store all what I can on the SD card to keep the phones storage as free as possible.
Listening to music over Bluetooth is a no-no. The constant breaks and stutters make it unusable.
There is something wrong with this phone, my old Nexus 5 outperforms this device by a mile.
Can anyone suggest something I can do to diagnose what is causing this garbage performance? Has anyone ever experienced this on Android before? I have googled the hell out of this and I find nothing but great reviews for the Nokia 6.1 so something isn't right.
Your help is much appreciated!!
I had similar problems with this phone TA-1043.
Every now and then the phone freezes for a few seconds. But I didn't have any problems with Bluetooth.
To fix this I have cleared the data for the google play services and the google app and restarted the phone. It's been working fine for the past couple of days.
Plus, I had some issues with the camera app freezing as well. I had to turn off the location tagging, and remove the location permission access, as well as clearing the data and restart the phone. Works like a charm now.
Let me know if this helps.
Hi everyone.
I remember some time ago I updated my phone with one of those monthly updates (cannot remember which one was was it or when, but I do perfectly remember this started happening after an update). Since then I've been experiencing issues with some apps. Just some apps fortunately and not the ones I use often.
Basically, whenever I open one of these apps it takes at least 3 minutes to load (sometimes even more), then the apps gets stuck so I get a message saying if I wanna close the app or wait so I just tap wait. Even though I've been facing these issues with apps that I don't use often it is still veeeeery annoying and now I'm bringing this issue here because I recently started using an app for college and when I need it in class I should not have to be waiting 3 or 4 minutes just to have a single app open. I tried formatting the phone and did not have any luck. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips on how to fix this?
Some other apps I have issues with:
-Temple Run 2
-Runtastic
-I'm Ping Pong King
-Uber
There are of course other apps I have the same issues with, I'm just mentioning a few. The games do not only take forever to load, but are laggy as hell and literally unplayable.
You could go into Apps and wipe their cache, and see if that helps. If that does not, perhaps going into TWRP and wiping cache there. If neither of those methods work . . . maybe an OS file or two have become corrupt?
You do have a TWRP backup, yes?
Are any of the apps related by a process they use, e.g. wifi, bluetooth . . . ?
Hi all,
I've a Moto G3 (2015) smartphone that, since few weeks, has a very weird problem. It starts using a very high CPU % and so the device become really hot and the battery goes down in a very little time.
I've already done the reset (multiple times) and started fresh, with no imported backups and installing the apps one by one manually (and only few of them). But the problem still is there, without a precise reason (sometimes just after the reset, without any new installed/upgraded app, sometimes after some days and without any changes from the day before...)
All I can see is that when it happens the PlayStore stops working... It can't install new app, nor update any of the installed ones
I tried several guides form the web about the PlayStore problem but no one work... I've everytime to reset the phone and start anew
Has someone the same problem?
Thanks in advance
I got this tab over a week now I instantly installed google play but now it just randomly restarting. I tried to factory reset and manage to download the software update today but it can't stay longer that 2-3 seconds then it will restart over and over again. Is there anything I can do to make this device works again? Cause troubleshooting won't help I guess.
Thanks.
