Samsung email on Oreo - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I have the international version of the s7. I have noticed on oreo that the stock samsung email app tends to "unoptimise" in the battery setting.
Any one else getting this issue ? How does one solve it ?
Thanks

[Q] Did anyone find a fix to run modded WhatsApp on S6?

As per topic it looks like we cannot run modded versions of WhatsApp (WACA, WhatsMapp, etc.) neither on the S6 nor on the S6 Edge.
I tried already contacting a modder, but so far he didn't succeed into having the app working (loop crash all the time).
Anybody here found a fix or is willing to sort the issue?
I can't stand stock WhatsApp!

It has been dismissed and even if it would be then a modded (read 'not working in the S6') version.

Swiftkey opening slowly (due to RAM problems?)

Hey all,
I'm using swiftkey on my galaxy s6 and sometimes when I press a textbox in an app like whatsapp or hangouts it takes a while before the keyboard pops up. Also, sometimes it has to reload the dictionary after the keyboard opens (this takes just around a second). Are there more people with this problem? I didn't had this on my Xperia Z1. Is this problem RAM related? Because of the aggressive app killing on the s6.
I'd like to hear from you guys!'

When I'm opening the keyboard it sometimes says "loading predictions". That's what I mean with "reload the dictionary".

No issues at all with SwiftKey

What firmware version are you on? Is it the newest? Because I believe the issue is with the newest Samsung firmware. It has nothing to do with the hardware
as much as this phone lags I think this is an issue with the app. It did the same on my m8 and that phone never lagged with any other app. It was the reason I stopped using Swiftkey and I now prefer Google over it as the swipe text is way better on that

+1
I also switched from Swiftkey to Google because of performance. That was on m7 and I tried again on S6E and, once again, preferred Google Keyboard due to performance. A shame though as Swiftkey used to be so good. Having said all that, perhaps it wouldn't suck so bad if this phone had better ram management.
I have the same issues with SwiftKey. I am running on latest Samsung 5.1.1 firmware. Sometimes everything seems to be fine and sometimes it takes years to pop up. I have no clue why. Already tried to reinstall, clear the app cache, no effect.

Flash this latest stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin to improve your RAM problems.

Yes I'm on the latest firmware (BOGB). Ram management actually seems a little better then before. But SwiftKey isn't working as it should.

I'm on the latest Dutch firmware (BOGB). That one should be latest.
Can anyone confirm that the same problems occur with the latest beta version of SwiftKey?
I confirm that the bug has appeared with latest firmware. Yes, the new firmware has much better multitasking and ram management but this bug with swiftkey is so annoying.
I've got the same issue since a few days. I have an S6 with stock firmware running (5.1.1) and SwiftKey 5.3.4.67
Any workaround available already?
Same problem here... Let's hope for a quick update from Samsung or SwiftKey...

I am really feeling like bought ****tiest phone. Sucks bad. My nexus 5 Galaxy s3 was better. Always face issue of keyboard. Feels little went backwards
Hey Guys, you're not alone and Swiftkey is notified about the issue but they're not sure if they can solve this problem. Take a look in the forum here: https://vip.swiftkey.com/index.php?/topic/12733-slow-showing-keyboard-on-s6-bug-reported/
But I think the biggest chance of getting this fixed is to inform Samsung about this problem and wait for a fix (if possible). Does anyone know if they are also already informed?
I have the same problem I live. I'm going crazy.. I sent it to the service. Load the software and they sent it back. The problem still continues.
Do you have any news friends?
No news.. I updated the firmware to latest version. Still same problem!

Unfortunately, the last update does not solve the problem. Maybe with the next update the problem is solved.

S6 'always-on' display?

I was wondering if its possible as the S7 seems to have the same display as the S6 on paper
Could also be a way of us saving battery power over the day
Download a 3rd party app from the play store, Samsung is not going to bring it over to the s6.

There are Third party apps, you can try. Or maybe someone will port the s7 rom in future.

Tizen battery drain

Hi
I had a Gear S3 last year and got rid of it due to the excessive battery drain introduced with Tizen.
I've read that an update has now fixed this issue.
Can anyone confirm it has actually fixed it?
Thanks

Same here. I didn't have problems after the first update and I didn't have problems after the "fix" they sent out.

Me neither, thank goodness...no issues before 3.0 or after but obviously there should be another update as so many folks are indicating they have major battery drain after Tizen update, I am really disappointed in Samsung for not announcing that they are aware of the issues And are working on it?? Curious why some don't have any issues and others do?

I just posted today how I fixed the battery drain issue in this same section for anyone interested: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/3-0-issues-t3746851
I just returned it, awaiting my refund from Samsung. Better to send it in for warranty and get the money back then to deal with this issue.

I doubt the plugin has anything to do with battery life on the watch..
Not the watch..It's my phone that's having the issue..

That's the problem that I'm in now...It's like going in a straight line in a round-a-bout! Watch forum says to check in S21 forums, there they say to check here! It's akin to a dog chasing its own tail!
Anyways, I uninstalled the app and deleted the watch profile from the phone leading to factory resetting the watch..now all's hunky-dory.
