I doubt the plugin has anything to do with battery life on the watch..

Not the watch..It's my phone that's having the issue..

That's the problem that I'm in now...It's like going in a straight line in a round-a-bout! Watch forum says to check in S21 forums, there they say to check here! It's akin to a dog chasing its own tail!
Anyways, I uninstalled the app and deleted the watch profile from the phone leading to factory resetting the watch..now all's hunky-dory.

Auto data connectivity on/off on email synchronisation

I was using a Nokia N8 device before I got this Samsung Galaxy SI9003 device. One thing I noticed on the galaxy is that packet data icon is always on on the top bar. The nokia N8 would connect and disconnect automatically when checking for emails in a schedule. Is this feature available on the android 2.2.3 platform?
Try Juice Defender.
Hi upichie, thanks for referring to juice defender. I installed it and will play around with it for a few days. Earlier I tried automate it. I did not like that. Thank you once again.

Looks like spam to me. I think we can ignore Mostafa's message. Hey upichie, I was planning on going for the galaxy note. What do you think about that device?

It looks awesome, but it's too big for me personally.
Hey upichie. I finally got the Ginger Bread upgrade to my Galaxy SL GT-I9003. Still exploring the new firmware. Do you know what the major differences between Froyo and Gingerbread are? Thanks.
Google, my friend. Shouldn't be hard to find.
Thanks, yes, I did notice some differences on Google. Thanks for all the help.

US- Gear update out!

So I just got an update on my Gear S2, SM-R720. I believe this is the one that brings features from the S3?

I'm assuming your Gear S2 is BT/wifi, not 3G/4G? Has anyone in the US on 3G/4G gotten the update on T-Mobile? Thanks.

Not for me yet.
Just a heads up. My battery life tanked after the update regardless of what I did. What fixed it was recharging a couple times. For some reason that worked.

No, it's really crazy that the $300 version of the Gear S2 still does not have automatic sleep tracking. I wish I could just flash it to the generic Samsung 3g firmware and be done with T-Mobile, but it doesn't seem to be a possibility (I started a thread here, but no responses so far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/general/gear-s2-3g-t-mobile-version-flash-to-t3518844 ).
I'd also complain to T-Mobile directly, maybe if enough of us complain, they'll do something about it.

Hi rogerperk,
I have same Gear S2 732 in same firmware as you (in France), and for me too, battery drain is present
Sure, not as much as you, but now, I've got a "low battery alert 15%" at 23h00 when, before, I get to bed at 00h30 with 35-40% battery left ! For sure, there is something that change (same watchface as before) !
Sadly, 2 charging (and even more than 10 actually) dont change anything for me
Best regards
Not good. I recharged mine a couple times and did a factory reset and that seemed to do it. I'm actually getting far better battery life now. Over 24 hours and I'm only at 77%! I hope that keeps up! I cut out alot of stuff I don't use like NFC and constant wifi and heartrate checks. That sort of stuff.

Merry Chrismas everyone :highfive: !
Thanks for asking : finally, it seems that, little by little, I get back to normal battery life. I can't figure why, but it's a fact.

At least T Mobile has released the update. Verizon never released the first value pack update nor have they released the newest update. Anyone know what is wrong with Big Red?

Has the app changed in a year? The Gear app doesn't currently display uptime when viewing battery info.

R760 Mini update received

Received following update today.
Improves battery usage: Should have been implemented on the initial release. Samsung really dropped the ball. We should all get a new Gear S3. Wait!! I DID!!! Only took 3 returns, 3 different repair center results. Only one of the returns was battery related. All were result of heart-rate-monitor issues.
Received new watch from sammy on December 13th with tizen 2.3.2.1. That tells me sammy had no confidence in tizen 3 up to 7 days ago (adj for shipping).
I won't be updating to the full tizen 3 anytime soon. Ain't going through that battery crap again.

Where are you from? I heard that only Canadian Gear S3 are allowed to receive this update yet. Tks.
Well, I took my S3 watch off the charger this morning with battery at 100% and performed this small update right then. When it was done with the update, the battery was then 56%. Interesting... Now I hope there's enough time to charge it back up to 100% before I leave for work this morning. Hum...
Update: In the few minutes time it took me to type up the reply above, my S3 watch is now showing 72% after just a few minutes on the charger. Hum...

I haven't seen it yet, could it have been slipstreamed into the Tizen 3?

I Have the latest (?) version Tizen 3.0.0.1 (BT version watch).
R760XXU2CQK3
When checking for update (tried more than ones and more than one day), I get notification:
"Unable to update the software. A network or server error occured. Try again later".
Watch is connected to network. Tried also another network. But same result.
Checking if watch makes a good network connenction: I can install watchfaces etc. So this is not the problem.
Anybody any idea? Someting wrong with de Samsung server?

I received that a few times. Maybe it's something to do with them updating their servers with the new Tizen 3 they're releasing now for the people still on Tizen 2. I'd give it a few days if it keeps up.
For anyone wondering how battery life is after the mini update, it has been absolutely amszing. Any questions just ask away friends.
I did the battery fix update two days ago. With AOD on, my battery is draining fast. Did a reset 1.5 hours ago, and the watch is at 85%. I was getting the same drain before my reset.
KingVekxon, is your AOD on?

Not at all, no need for an AOD. Especially when I have my phone on my person so much and I'd rather just press the button on my watch, if I don't have my phone. No need to waste battery unnecessarily ya know?
With AOD you're never going to get a good battery life

I do not remember authorizing any updates, but this started last year in December. And I did have it set to auto update. I had called Samsung support they told me my battery was shot and they could replace it and since my warrenty was expired it would be almost 200.00. So the watch has been sitting since then.

In the state it is in now it's no use so imho nothing to loose.
