About that free 6 month youtube premium - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

I pre ordered pixel 3 a couple of days ago. I live in korea so i asked my friend to send it to me when he got delivered. Anyway, i saw the terms yesterday and the terms were weird. You can have the 6 month trial only when you are completely new to youtube premium. And also only for US residents.
So here's the questions
Is there really no way to get the youtube premium unless making new account? (Im currently using youtube premium)
Will the youtube premium 6 month trial won't work if i start the pixel in korea?
Im going to LA in January so if i wait until january, would it be possible to claim 6 month trial?
Sorry for the bad english though...

It is my understanding that you will need a new account to activate your 6 month trial. As for your activation, you will probably need to activate it from the US since I will also guess that Google has a way to tell where the IP that activated it came from and I think that if it doesn't originate in the US, they may use that as an excuse to not honor it. I'm not sure if the activation has to happen from the same email account where it was purchased through the Google store. Also, in January it will be too late to activate the trial since, from what I've read, it has to be activated before December 31 at 11:59 PM. Hope this helps. Maybe your friend can activate it for you before sending it.

This is bogus if true. I had a free month trial of YouTube music before, so now I don't get the free 6-months? Google is getting so damn nitpicky about all of their offers. They need to relax a bit and reward long-time customers. I'm not creating a new Google account to get 6 months of their crappy music service. Maybe if they had a cleaner merge with Google Play Music I'd be willing to pay for it.

[Q] Where can I complaint against the Google Play Support Team?

Hi All
I've got a quite ridiculous situation here from Google Play Support Team.
I reset my Lenovo A1 and found that I'm not able to update Soundhound which I bought at a discount price (0.1USD) from US store, instead I was asked to purchase it again, and when I clicked the purchase button, it fails.
I sent an email to the support team to resolve the issue and got an reply that they would issue me a refund 0.1 USD, and if I want to buy the app again, I need to pay the current price instead of 0.1 USD.
Before I got back to them, I got another email said I requested an refund and granted, I'm quite p*** off by the email, so I reply the email and said it's not an acceptable solution.
Now 2 days passed, and I still not receive any response from Google, just like the whole support team ran and hide.
I'm just wondering that where can I complaint against the Google Play Support Team?
Thank you in advance.
Regards

Maybe you can try a independent consumer association?
Or wait a few days, some transactions take some time.

Don't feel bad the Google Play Store is a fooking joke. Of course the Nexus 4 launch was the worse but somewhat excusable. No one expected the flurry of buyers that phone created. Then came the release of the Nexus 4 Wireless charger. I ordered a wireless charger on March 13th. Today is April 7th. After 4-5 emails from me asking about tracking and just why they haven't sent me a wireless charger yet. Their responses and lack of information is ludicrous. I finally told them yesterday to just give my money back, release the payment and put it back onto my credit card. I was then informed that it would take 15 days for me to get a refund. I could understand that if I was sending something back. But I never received anything in the first place. Why can't they just put the money back on my card. I'm so god damn frustrated at Google Play support. Oh well I just thought I would throw in my experience with those bastards since there is no where else to complain. I wanted some sort of supervisor or something to contact me. Yet they can't even do that. JOKE
It doesn't matter if it is .5 cents or 5.000...
People should be honest, and deliver what they promise, the way they promisse it.
This is how I think.
Next time buy something of 3k from them, and do a chargeback once you get it
No, don't do it...

[Q] Chromecast Lost In Mail - How to get refund?

So, apparently my Chromecast was sent to the wrong post office (WA, I'm in CA) and was promptly lost as of 7/31. I ordered on release day and got the Netflix free trial e-mail when it was shipped, though.
In hopes of getting a refund, I've contacted Play Support via e-mail on 8/4, 8/7, 8/10. I have called telephone support on 8/6, 8/10, and 8/12 - all with no refund or resolution.
All calls have stated the same thing as the e-mails, that the issue will be passed to a specialist for "investigation". They say it takes 24-48 hours to do an investigation. As you can see, it takes much longer. It has almost been a month with no product.
Does anybody know some higher-ups within Google Play Support that can help me get a refund?
I'm thinking of just doing a chargeback but I don't want to screw up my Google Wallet account.
Thanks!

Any way to get Google Play to update Amazon apps?

Last May, I purchased Backcountry Navigator Pro from the Amazon App Store. It hadn't seen much use until recently when I started spending a lot of time on the hiking trails.
I was interested in checking out one of their premium addons (in-app purchase) but it kept giving me errors about premium addons not being available in my market. I shot an email off to the developer, who noticed that I was on version 5.0.3 and instructed me to update to the newest (5.7.4) via google play. Problem is, Google Play - while showing that app installed on my phone - doesn't keep it up to date. My assumption is because it came from Amazon. So, I contacted the developer again and explained the situation. I was told that they had pulled that app from Amazon about 7 months back (shortly after I had purchased it). I was told to contact Amazon and request a refund so that I could re-purchase the app on Google Play.
So, I contact Amazon help desk. I explain the situation to them. They respond that there is nothing they can do, and instruct me to contact the developer.
So here I am, sitting on a $14.00 paid app that I can't actually use, a developer that is either unwilling or unable to help, a google play that won't update an app if it wasnt purchased through them, and amazon unwilling to refund me.
My question is simple... does anyone here know of another way to get this app updated without shelling out another $14 for it?
Side note - Lesson learned. Don't offer support to 3rd party app stores. It'll bite you in the ass.

No and I was wondering about this yesterday.
I have contacted HTC over support chat and twitter. The chat support said that they will escalate the case. Let's see what happens. My initial guess is that they missed sending it out to people who ordered the phone before Nov 2nd(the day that offer page was put up). However on twitter htcusa tweeted out saying that those who pre-ordered in October will receive it too.

Did you notice that if you clicked on it, the title page on that first link actually says "$100 Google Play credit for the HTC One A9 | HTC United States". Probably a title from an old page that they forgot to edit, but I'd rather have $100 credit than 6-months Play Music

Really? Both valid?

I can't activate both, so it is kind of pointless : "must not be active subscriber". It is not like I can wait 6 months and then activate second one - it needs to be activated within 2 months.
The side benefit of this is you get 6 months free of Youtube Red too.

Hey guys. How did you activate the play music subscription. On my primary account I have already consumed 1 month free trial and my other account was never used for subscription, but for a new subscription play music is asking for $9.99 per month. I contacted HTC, they asked me to contact google :"
In regards your concern, the account can be marked as not eligible if it participated in the 30 Day Trial in the past 12 months as it was mentioned.
The next step could be to reach Google Play support to request a code for another account if you still want to. Then you'll need to go to:
https://support.google.com/ ".
Confused on how to activate or contact google from here. In the link they sent google music is not listed too

What I did to activate was simply login to Google Play Store on a computer, and then redeem the code. Make sure you're logged in to the correct account you want (and logged out of any other accounts you may have).
I'm not sure why it wouldn't work on your second account, maybe you took other type of free offers in the past 12 months? If the account took part in any kind of trial or free offering in the past 12 months, then it wouldn't be eligible. My primary account took a 3-month free last year around this time of year, and isn't eligible. I checked my other account and it turns out it had its own somewhat out of nowhere free 6-month offer from Google, so I took that. I ended up giving the code to my wife and she redeemed it without any problem.

HTC should have sent you the 6 month trial code to the email address you provided while ordering the phone. If not contact the customer service and tell them explicitly that you haven't received any code yet, they will then verify and send the email again to you.

I got an email that read like this on Oct. 15:
Your $50 Google Store promotional balance is coming soon.
An update from Google Store.
High five for pre-ordering Google Pixel 3. You’re now eligible to get $50 Google Store promotional balance.1 Within 4-6 weeks of your phone shipping, we’ll send you an email letting you know when it’s available to use (as long as you didn’t cancel your order or return your Pixel 3).
I haven't been given any credit to my account yet, but I still have a week technically. I'll probably contact Google if I haven't received it by Thankgiving.
I got my $$ today but no email to tell me. Check your balance at the Google Store.
