So, finally Fortnite made their way to non Samsung devices. The rumor has it that it only runs on devices with Snapdragon 800 series and Adreno 530 and above. However, I have checked on Google and found that our device can also run the game preety smooth. However, since the game is not available on Play store due to a conflict between Google and Epic Games in terms of revenue, you need to download and install the game from the official website of fortnite (link given below). Although, Nokia 7 plus is not listed under compatible device list, but you can go ahead and download the installer.
So, how many of you have tried the game on Nokia 7 plus and is it really working and how is the gameplay?

It shows that device does not meet minimum requirements

Hello xda members,
I found something interesting when i looked onto my favourite website for Android: androidnext.de
Some people ported the Id Tech 4 onto Android. This was possible due to the fact that this engine has
been made Open Source a while ago. The game itself isn't Open Source, but if you own a copy of it
you can copy the needed files. Note that the work is in early stages, so you can't play the game at the moment
because they need to fix a lot of bugs of the engine on Android.
But hey, wait a little bit and we maybe play Id Tech 4 games like Quake 4, Wolfenstein and so on. :good:
And the Xperia Play would be the perfect handset to play on it.

OMG ! that would be so awesome if someone ported Doom 3 for the Xperia PLAY,

If this works, I dont see how our device can run Doom 3.... I may very well be wrong.... guess only time will tell. I still own my original bought on Day 1, limited edition Doom 3 for original XBOX on mint condition. and the suedo sequel Resurrection of Evil. Love those games. Doom 4 will be coming out with supposedly support for Virtual Reality
http://gamerant.com/doom-4-virtual-reality-oculus-rift/
All in all this would be bada$$ if it works.
Awesome! I love Doom 3. I hope it gets proper Xperia Play controls. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for the info.
My heart's racing! This will be awesome!
Funny though, on another forum, there was a thread based on what games would be awesome on mobile, I said Doom 3 for Android and said why and believed that it would be possible as time goes because of it's low requirements and the fact that it was released for Linux as well. This is so cool!
@jgregoryj1
I think it's possible to bring it on our Xperia Play. The Engine is Open Source, so with right optimations in regards to CPU, GPU, RAM,
Texture size, resolution etc. it can be done. By the way: The guy in the video uses an HTC Desire HD, spec wise almost the same (except more RAM than Play has). Also, Doom 3 is available on Xbox and this console is weaker than our Xperia Play. So, i think it will be a great expansion to our game library. Hope, it will come soon.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Don't forget the other Id Tech 4 games!!!

Eh, that'll depend actually, Brink used iD Tech 4, it's requirements are much higher, even though they're on the same engine.

In all fairness it used a heavily modified engine of Tech 4; we can play Quake 3 on our phones but not Jedi Academy which also uses a modified engine since the requirements and certain assets do change in the process. You can clearly tell by looking at the specs for Doom 3 that it will be possible on current high-end and future devices. The Play sadly will never see it.
Kokak is actually planning on porting Doom 3 and I think that will be the port that eventually gets it right. His DoomGLES is incredible. http://www.droidgamers.com/index.php/game-news/interviews/4324-interview-with-kokak-games-about-future-ports-network-support-for-current-games-and-more

Oh don't get me wrong, not even Kokak can get it running on the Play; it just won't happen. I just think he will make a damn fine port, you know, if we ever get the Xperia Play 2

I wasnt saying he could make it work with the PLAY in its current version.... we can always be hopefuly of an Xperia PLAY 2... but I would be totally floored if it became a reality, as it is..... incredibly doubtful..... I have a better chance of becoming the leader of China... (I can say that because my wife is from Guangxi province.. and I know full well she is the boss)

Not compatible with any of my devices, maybe it's only available for the Kindle Fire at the moment? Crazy that it's out on Amazon apps before Google Play.

The market says no for Play and SP but yes for U
It's INCOMPATIBLE with Xperia Play.
LOL at all those enthusiastic people who thought this would run on XP.
All is lost. Goodbye world... waaaaaaa!
EDIT: If they left out the Xperia PLAY due to its ancient hardware, what's the point of making it Gingerbread-compatible altogether? I think it's safe to assume that devices stuck on GB up to today are weaker or at par with the Xperia PLAY. So what's the point Rockstar?
well i think its time to change android...

Its not all lost.
We have a new PS3/X-Box 360 game just ported to the Xperia Play today -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576702
Its Rockstar and the 3rd party dev (War drum studios) that ported it that is the issue here. If they had any care in the world for Android (IOS Fanboys) this game would have been made better and for more devices. Take alook at the market listing, it seams it does not work on any device even if they are modern at the momment.
Look at those 1 stars lol

It's getting one star reviews because it's crashing for some people. They've already patched it once today but it needs another. It's going to be the best game ever once they get passed this latest issue.
The Google Play version lists Android 3.0 as the minimum requirement but the Amazon listing says Android 2.3 which is most likely due to it needing to be compatible with the kindle fire. I wonder if the Amazon version will work if they make it available to devices outside the kindle fire, it doesn't look like it's going to have a kindle specific version.
Any body know if its xperia play optimized?

I installed it on my own 4.1.b.13 and that xperia z rom i ported 2 days ago
On both of them i have problems with gamepad and touchpads so i cant say anything about xpo optimization
But the game is not working well on it
It will be closed when you go home and when you wana play a massion and ...
But the game itself is as fast as gta vice city
I think the problem is related to ram
Can swap partition work exacly as ram?
Because even angry bird go needs more ram (1gb)
I will try swap soon too
I enabled 256mg swap on my sd card then played gta san andreas with my 4.1.b.13
Everything worked fine
Only sometimes i have bad lags but i dont have closed game anymore
As i said before i cant test xpo optimization due to not working touchpads and gamepad in my rom
i think XP needs a good 4.0+ rom

parsing error in my xp gingerbread...
They got the nVidia Shield controls perfect.
gamepad and touchpads dont work sadly
checked in 4.1.H.0.4 - FIXED by johnnzey r4-1
but the game itself is working well
maybe we can talk to rockstar about that
because if the support gamepads supporting xperia play gamepad is not hard

Your device isn't powerful enough to handle the game. So,Consider another device. It's mainly because of the cpu.The cpu can't process the threads fast enough for the gpu to build it.And you have to build approx 800mbs of ram cache to play this game while the gpu picks up graphics and the screen displays it.And for this you need atleast cortex a15 or higher processors with least 2.2Ghz processing power and adreno 300.For beginners a note 3 can run this game.

Simply saying just Buy a New Device. That device you can't run a game that BIG.
Hello. So, recently back in July, a game named Sky Children of Light arrived on iOS devices. It's more of an adventure type game, created by the same devs who made games like Journey. And they've also announced the game on Android too and it's up for pre register. What I would want to know is the minimum system requirements needed to play this game on an android device and I hope it's not like Fortnite where it's only released on specific devices.
My device: Honor 8 Lite, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, Android 8.0, EMUI 8.0

why not contact the devs directly?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tgc.sky.android No Install nor buy nor else button for now.
From Apple store: "Requires iOS 9.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone 5s, ..blah-blah-blah, iPhone 8", 197 MB.
So it would run on 1GB RAM Android phones too.
I think it's able to run it, but I wouldn't recommend. my phone has the snapdragon 630 (gpu adreno 508) can run it at around 20-30fps at lowest setting, the close one to it is the snapdragon 625 (adreno 506) which is barely the same in graphics performance, but still far better than the mali t830-mp2 on the kirin 655 in your phone. I dont think you should consider kirin cpu for gaming overall, even with their game mode (only works for a number of games)
I bought the Redmi Note 10 (not the pro version) about 2 weeks ago. Last night I decided to run Cpu-Z and I was surprised when it said it's running on the Snapdragon 635 when all specs online say it should be running the 638. Does CPU-Z not recognize the 638 or do I have a strange phone?
Additionally run an alternate tool like AIDA64 what is freely availabe on Google Play store.
