When my front camera pops up , a CLICK kind of sound is coming , seems as if some thing is obstructing camera from poping up . While camera going down no such sound is coming. Any suggestion is welcomed. TIA
P.S. I have never dropped my mobile till now, and from past two months no such sound or clicky feel was there from front camera.

Are you sure ? Because I am sure there was no such noise before.
I think mine does the same sound, it must be normal.
no click here, or same little noise popping up/down
Send a video with front camera movement
You can set the sound when to pop up the front camera to others see whether it has any issues

Hey guys I just got my moto g and i just noticed that there is a clicking noise when i turn the camera on or off. I'm not sure if I damaged it or if it's just the nature of the phone.
Thanks!

I think they all do it.
This happens to all moto Gs. I think it's just the nature of the phone. There was a thread about this on the moto g support forums and it seems this is normal

me too and i try to ignore it
This is normal, also had it in my old xperia U, figured it was the tiny camera lens getting "ready" and back to a secured position when turned off.
Just tested this now, it seems to make a popping sound when you launch and close the camera they seem to be different volumes too with closing making a louder noise, how stange. Maybe the tiny motor kicking in for OIS
Edit: maybe not as a quick search reveals this camera has no OIS.

It does have focus control though which equally requires a moving element.
phew! thanks guys for the help. i was getting worried that my phone got damaged or something. i also thought that the camera was getting ready to shoot like many of you said but i guess there's no need to worry now. i guess you cant really complain about anything about this phone especially with this AMAZING price tag and performance. I just got my 4.4 update btw. SOO excited to see how it runs

Second that, but if you are a detail freak you might be annoyed by some of the corners that are being cut to keep the cost so low. Still, the cheapest place in the UK with stock are Tesco's and they'll take returns til the cows come home, so nothing really to lose.
My old HTV EVO (WiMax) did this also, so I'm pretty sure its normal. It was especially noticeable during boot-up.

I think it's Auto Focus mechanism. In Moto Defy it was really loud. Also the volume buttons make similar noise to camera's.
First off.. The speakers.
The bottom speaker sounds much lower. The top speaker souns much louder and more crisp while playing music etc.. Should it be like this?
Second.. The camera is laggy. In all kinds of modes, while looking around it feels like watching with low FPS. I had a z1 before and it was totaly fluid. My z3 is only fluid while recording a video.
also, i have 1 dead pixel..
I bought this phone 3 weeks ago and had to return it after a week because i had no time to return it earlier. The power button and volume up rocker was very hard to press and had no feeling of a buttom. Mostly like a sirup drenched remote controll. They returned the phone to me, today by only replacing the buttons.
Please answear my questions asap <3 I think i might have to bring out my knuckles on this one and tell them to give me a new one or ill take legal actions.
Buttons are a bit hard but, I got used to it its not that bad, at least for me. I have heard some got mismatched speakers but mine seems to have equal speakers. Try and ask for a replacement/repair for the speakers.

Thanks. So they do sound same loudness and clarity?
hows your camera? Is it "laggy"?

I don't percieve much lag. And yes clarity "seems" the same to me in both speakers.
Camera app is fine on mine although I do select Manual 20mp and image stabiliser. IF it's laggy, the picture takes fine even when moving. Just use a steady hand
Top speaker is louder and bassier than the bottom one. Think its normal on this phone.
1 Dead pixel isn't enough to replace a screen I believe with tv's it's 3 or 4, so maybe the same with the phone?

Have you tried turning off the s-surround or whatever it's called in audio settings ? It affects the speakers.
About the dead pixel - if it's just one, they might refuse to replace it. There is an "acceptable" number stated for all LCD screens.

The lagginess is though not after the picture is taken. Its while observing, feels like playing a heavy game on a old computer.
Hmm fine pictures even while moving? I just tried auto mode and manual mode with different iso settings and with and without stabilizer. It seems that even the sligtest move and the picture gets really foggy and blurred.
About the speakers, yeah.. It seems like it
S mode is off.
I received my phone today, and while I'm generally quite happy with it, there's one thing that really bugs me; the camera motor is really, really loud while the sensor is moving. Could I please ask anyone who has the phone to confirm whether it's supposed to sound like this?
I've shot a video from another phone to try and capture the sound it makes here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2HVQRVtiQVjEGnBk6
I moved the module manually by pressing and holding the camera switch button and moving up and down, but it also makes quite a bit of noise when just pressing it as well.
It's also very noticeable when capturing a video from the device itself: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1cQmbBMFjHEtnNfy5
Like above I moved the sensor manually, but I suspect things like motion tracking won't work very well due to it capturing the audio of the motor.
Wow, thanks for letting us hear what it sounds like. Helps me as I start to collect various "issues" from other end users.

They sound like sound effects used for alien invasion type of movies .
Hmm hope by the time it is released on the US it doesnt have most of the issues happening
yeah i had been using it the past month and noticed the same. There is a Flip Camera sound feature in the options but didnt seem to make a difference on my end.

Faulty unit
So I spoke with Asus support, and according to them these noises are completely normal, so yeah, I don't know. Because of this I've now returned it to the shop I bought it from as this really was a deal-breaker for me.

Thanks for the link! That does sound far more acceptable. I had a look at a few video reviews before ordering it, and none of them mentioned anything about the noises my unit had - that's why I was curious if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. But it definitely sounds like my unit was faulty, and that it shouldn't sound nearly as bad as it did.
I bet ASUS never actually bothered to watch/listen to the videos I sent them and instead just said it's normal and hoped I wouldn't mind.

Hello, my flip camera also has weird sound (alien) when I adjust the position using volume keys. However, I think that this is normal due to the motorized mechanisms.
Edit: I looked at your video and my unit has the same sound.
Just bought a used ZF6, my camera motor has the same loud Noises as the OP in videos.
It's when they stop making sounds that you need to worry...
Hey everyone.
Since yesterday my phone makes clicky noises everytime i start up the camera. When looking at it, the lower camera seems to have detached itself and moves around when I activate it. Not sure if it was always like that or the camera has actually unglued itself.
Would it be possible for someone to record their camera while they open the app so that I can compare it to mine?
Thanks in advance,
IG
Today accidentally discovered that the phone has a rattle to it. Never dropped or anything. First, I thought it was the S-Pen, but even with the pen out, there is still a rattle that seems to be coming from the camera module. Anyone else's phone does that? Is it normal or should I try swapping the unit?
Its just the camera lens don't worry my last 3 Notes have done it
Thanks. Found the videos talking about the same issue on S20+. Guess it's normal. Never noticed it before on any of my Sammies. Must be a "new phone paranoia". ?

Larger the camera the more it floats until you turn on the camera. Hence more noise. I would also suggest it's more sensitive while the camera is on to a hard hit /damage.

I am experiencing that same rattle too. It seems to go away when i turn on the camera, so this is definitely due to the much talked about rattle that the camera module had with the S20 Ultra as well..
I must say that the rattle is rather annoying and random and especially annoying when i have the phone in my pocket while jogging..At least it is good to know that it is not a faulty unit but rather a feature of the lens system.
I am getting a faint clicking noise whenever I exit the camera app. I can feel it on the device too. Is this normal?

Thanks, I suppose this is due to the different camera setup. I'm coming from a Note 9, which had OIS and is completely silent, but then again it doesn't have the new sensors.
Also remember when camera has stabilisation in it that could cause the rattle noise from camera since camera itself moves when you shake the phone.
I hardly hear rattle in mine but when I face screen down I can hear a loud click from camera area and then when I face it back up with screen up I hear the click again.
So yeah camera is basically moving or it's lenses.
This is normal as long you don't see any defect in camera when using it.

Yeah I read about the rattling when shaking the device, but nothing about noise when the camera app exits...
I had the same issue. I had battery and overheating issues as well so i requested an exchange device. The old device had the rattle however i noticed the new one doesn't. Really think Samsung messed up QC with this device.
Interesting... Samsung doesn't have any stock of my device to exchange at the moment, otherwise I'd have probably asked for one. I'll see how it pans out over the next few days...
Without the camera app open when uou hold the device flat then tilt it up 90 degrees you'll hear it click every time, it doesn't matter if it's in landscape or portrait view. With the camera app open you don't hear it. One of the lens uses electromagnets for stabilization, without the camera app open the lens is moving around since there is no power going to the magnets.

They all rattle, anyone says otherwise is trolling.
The snapdragons have better rattling. ??
I have had my Note 20 ultra for 2 days and only this afternoon have I noticed this very loud rattle. I swear 100% that it wasn't there before. It also happens that this afternoon was the first time I tried wirelessly charging my phone. Is it possible that the wireless charger has somehow messed with the magnets that control the lens module?! I'm really annoyed and might send it back.

It's totally unacceptable for a 1399 device. Return it until you get a good one. By which time the note 21 ultra will be out. ?? Because they are all like that. I've had three different regional variants of the Note 20 Ultras, all same.
Buyers remorse has many faces.

They all rattle, it's the lens when the camera app isn't open and powering the electromagnets. There's no point in exchanging it, they all do it.
