Battery, Storage, Pairing, App Problems etc... - Samsung Gear S3

Ok, given an S3 Frontier as a gift. Was fun to fiddle with. The previous owner had no issues. I immediately paired, updated etc.
I've had so many problems. Some Days the watch lasts for 2-3 days, but 95% of the time it'll be dead within anywhere from 5 to 8 or 9 hours. I've turned off all tracking, and Hr settings etc, tried battery saving mode and to no avail, I cannot sort out the battery drain problem. Updates and resets. Nothing works.
I have also noticed the storage on the watch fills itself up even though I don't install anything on the device at all. I've also noticed on some occasions after I've reset the watch to try and fix my battery drain, that the galaxy watch up won't even pair with the device and I'll end up having to uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone to do it again.
I've noticed the watch pairs with my phone fine but once the storage mysteriously fills up I find that trying to use the app with the watch in any way is pointless.
I've gone through threads upon threads on official forums and here etc and I still can't figure it out.
I've sent through a service request, I've told them I don't have proof of purchase due to it being a gift. I'll see how I go?

My SW2 occasionally resets and unpairs itself.

Just wondering if anyone else has a similar issue - every so often it will just decide to reset, and get into the unpaired mode. On the phone I have to un-pair, and re-pair the device.
It happened to me only once. I think it is a memory issue. If it gets more than it can handle, it resets itself but this is just a wild guess.

Happens to me every so often too! Very annoying.

I am observing this too, not very often though. I do lose BT connectivity sometimes, however, which is fixed by switching BT off and on again in the watch settings.
Happend to be me once too but was not such a big deal had to restart it and then wait untill the apps got back to the watch.
But might be that the watch runs out of RAM as thearif suggested.
So what would be the best way of resolving this - have less apps installed on the watch?

I have a hunch that this may happen when the watch has been out of Bluetooth range of the phone too many times. I have had this happen unpairing happen on several occasions, usually when I have gone up- and downstairs a few times without my phone, or if I leave my phone in my office at work and go to pick up print-outs....
For me this happens even when the watch lays next to the phone. It doing it few times daily. Goes off and then back on. It doesnt loose pairing or connectivity, well... only few times i have had to reboot the watch to get it ON (or turned off the Bt from the phone).

I have this problem few times also. It happen often when I change or modify watchface on Sony app editor.

Note edge rebooting intermittantly.

Just recently my note has been rebooting several times a day. It seems to happen while im at home on my wifi network. At work its in my pocket most of my shift, but I would know if it rebooted because my gear s would give a disconnection message.
Most recent apps updated are Google maps, Samsung Milk music, Samsung Push Service and YouTube.
I have cleared the cache partition, but the Phone still reboots.
I took the battery out for approx. 3 mins, and replaced it. Still Reboots.
I checked my micro sd card for rogue files. Still reboots.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well after some thought, I removed the widgets I had on my home screen, Google calendar, keep, music and poweramp, and re added them. I remember I have the same widgets on my Samsung note pro, I removed the Google now widget for a reason i cant remember, and when I tried to put it back on my home screen, it didnt work. This was after a Google now update.
Anyway, I havent had a reboot since. Not sure if this was the fix or something else, but I now have to wonder. After updates to apps that I use widgets for should I remove them and re add them?
It probably wouldn't hurt from the sounds of it.
going through the same thing, except for me, it is when my battery drops below 40%. my phone will think that it has zero battery left, and though the 5.0.1. update completely screwed battery life for the edge, there's no way that i am losing 30% in less than an hour, even with zero usage. i can't find a good combination of apps or app killers that can help the phone go into deep sleep and idle to help prolong the life. for now, i am going to back everything up with Helium, SMS Backup Pro and the Verizon Cloud to prepare for a factory reboot. i also ordered a fresh OEM battery from samsung, in case that has anything to do with it. once i perform the factory reset, if things are any better or about the same, i will update you guys.
Downgrade to Kitkat if you can.It would definitely improve the battery. Then maybe wait for Marshmallow and hope it would fix that d*mn battery issue on lollipop.

This problem is not only happening with my Edge, but for several Note 4 users I know as well. Even my 10.1 2014 edition tablet started cutting off. After not knowing what was happening I just happened to look at the reviews for a couple of apps that updated on their own within the past month. Go look at the google play services app reviews. Almost everything that is going wrong with my phone is described in the (lengthy) negative comments regarding the newest update. Lagging, cut offs...the works.
My phone shows me in the neighborhood of 20 percent. I'm on the phone with 25% and the phone cuts off. I play a youtube video and 2 second later the phone cuts off. But it is not a regular cut off like a standard recharge, it goes in to a perpetual boot loop of on and off until I put it in charge mode. Sometimes it is actually at zero percent but more often than not there is 15% there but the thing just cuts off. This is super annoying and crippling my phone experience. I have not seen an article yet (it was two weeks ago I really checked) to see if an android source picked up the story but the Google play services app commentary is virtually all 1 stars and complaints. This has got to be addressed.

phone has random shutoffs now. google play services the culpritculprit?

Whats draing my battery

Hello, I have the AT&T Gear S2 SM-R730A with the recent update that just came out yesterday. Anyways, i have been using it at work and I have to leave my phone in my locker so the watch isnt connected via Bluetooth. It will last only 5 hours this way and this is with a few texts and emails and no calls. I tried shutting Bluetooth off and still same drain. I also shut off gps still same. Wifi has never been on and neither has NFC so its not that. Any suggestions?

Something after the update killed my battery overnight (less than 4hrs). I decided to quickly do a hard reset before going to work in an attempt to figure out the issue. Additionally, it’s overheating on both chargers I have. I removed a few apps & watch faces I haven’t used since buying the watch. Battery life is back on par. I’ll probably attempt another hard reset this evening & not rush it.

Im packing this piece of garbage up and selling it. I had for a week and the battery life is horrible.
Another HD reset and better selection of notifications cleared the battery drain and over heating.
I shouldn't have to deal with all this for the price you pay for a watch. I'm paid for it out right I've only had it for 4 days I'm taking it back and buying the LG Google watch

Question Phone sluggish / videos do not play after a full charge

I have noticed this happening for the past two to three days now, where after charging my phone to 100% and taking it off the charger, the phone feels sluggish overall in some apps and any videos - be it local on device videos shot from my camera, videos that I have received via WhatsApp, Instagram videos and reels or YouTube videos and shorts do not play at all. I just see the video buffering or loading (the circle keeps going round). Only thing to fix this is a restart. I am not sure what is causing this behaviour but it is very strange and ridiculous. I bought the Pixel thinking pure Android from Google would be the best UX but this sucks tbh.
Anyone else facing a similar issue and any tips on what the reason could be? I have been trying to get in touch with Google support but could not get through to them today, will try again tomorrow.
Edit: it is now happening randomly throughout the day and the camera app is almost frozen during such an episode if I try to use it.
Can you use something like geekbench app to profile the phone when it's at like 20 % after a restart vs 100% no restart?

Here are the screenshots of Geekbench scores. Today's scores are from when the phone was exhibiting this strange behavior of videos not playing.
Unfortunately, this has started happening randomly through the day (and not necessarily after a full charge). I have seen that even the camera just freezes or is non responsive during such an episode. So I guess it is some sort of video driver issue?
I restarted the phone in safe mode and checked but don't see this issue happening in that mode. I've uninstalled apps that I've installed over the past few days. Still not sure what's the issue.
I checked with Google support yesterday and they told me to check in safe mode (done) or else perform a factory reset. Not sure if paying 1000€ for a phone only to factory reset it within a month for a wired issue seems justified. I have the same apps on my 6 year old One plus 3 and face no problems whatsoever apart from the phone being slow.

Hey, I don't mean to be a stickler here or tell you what kind of experience to have.
As a guy who deals with a lot of tech issues, I would recommend a Factory Reset along with google.
Things happen, and not EVERY device is perfect, try not to be done with the phone over resetting. I know it can be a pain but all devices need it from time to time. I work in IT and you would not believe the number of times resetting fixed an issue.
The time for concern is when that does not fix the issue or you are having to do it across multiple patches of a phone.
