This is the Moto G6 XT1925-12 Verizon Variant insides. I repair phones as a job and just happened to be working on one and decided to post in case anyone is curious, like all variants look very similar.
I'll eventually have the XT1925-6 Project Fi variant pictures as well as I do have a cracked screen on mine.

It looks like to use hair dryer to heat up a bit and pry open the back.
It's good to know once the battery stopped working.

I use a heated mat at work to open it, I will say that expect to buy a new back if you don't know what you're doing, it is glass and there is honestly more adhesive than what Samsung uses on their glass backs. Also a drop of alcohol here and there breaks down the adhesive.
A good way to go through the back adhesive. Also, the back is made of metal with glass on top of it.

I'm pretty sure it's a metallic looking paint, metal would cause interference.

I saw the internals of the phone with my OWN EYES the back is absolutely 100% glass, not metal. Also the video says the selfie camera is 16mp, it's really 8mp. The only part of this phone that is metal is the middle section that is gray the black frame around the phone is plastic.
But I'm not gonna keep arguing about that, I have 6 years in cellphone repair. Phones that are "all metal" have antennas built into the top and bottom of the frame, that's the reason for the different sections. And obviously to you anything posted online first is correct.
I do apologize for any rudeness, but I have not had my coffee yet.

Sorry for you coffee, but I do have quite a time with phone and computer repairs. Not all I see is true for me, but the behavior of the part on the video looks like it's made of metal, glass won't bend like that. But you saw it with your own eyes so I won't argue (hope I won't have to rip appart my phone).
Anyway, the point of my post is about a way to cut through the glue on the back.

Thin glass does have some flex to it, I've bent a tempered glass screen protector almost to a C shape before it broke. Using heat, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCTH8Q6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FGGTBbSMX8FQG is what I use with work and a little 99.9% alcohol to break down the adhesive. I use a thin metal pri tool to get started then the thin guitar pics to go along the curved section.
LoL
Great work on the teardown! It looks easy enough to replace the battery. I was also looking at G6+'s teardown and I'm thinking it might be possible to get NFC in the regular G6.
The only difference on the two varients is the battery and the plastic covers. The G6 has the apks to run NFC, but what do you guys think?

I don't have much need for NFC, but I have been working on installing wireless charging. Just have to work out the kink of using wired connection while the wireless hardware is attached, NOT IN USE/CHARGING AT THE SAME TIME.

It's not a kernel issue, it has to with the charging systems logic. What's happening is when the wired charger is plugged in the wireless one receives power and it disrupts the data of the phone knowing the type of charger that is connected.
Basically all I would have to do it put some diodes to keep power from going to the wireless coil when it shouldn't

As new as the phone is I would have suggested just warranty with Motorola. But I'd find out what the voltage of the battery is, if it's under 3.6v then it's likely the phone is refusing to charge it (safety measure for faulty battery).

No warranty available since i bought it from amazon and the country i lived has only one lenovo motorola official service centre. But they refuse to repair it because G6 is not even launched in my country, they said that the technician not be able handling this device
The battery was 3.8v lithium ion polymer with 2 wire. I've only got LED blinking fast if power on without battery attached to its connector and usb charger connected

Lately I have been thinking of a DIY home waterproofing for my phone... I've been throwing around a couple of ideas after seeing the Liquipel website. Surely there must be something we can do to water-proof or water-resist our Cappy!?
I have a couple old phones which I am willing to experiment different processes on, and then dunk into water.
Does anyone have any ideas?
My first thought is covering the insides with some kind of varnish with the phone taken apart...

Varnish even if its less flamable when dry, may cause overheating. If you wait a few years this will surely become available to the public.

IMHO, with today's technology you can only make the Captivate water resistant ,,,,to a point. Due to the open headphone jack, micro USB connector, volume keys, power button, and removable battery - all with metal contacts - water proofing will not work if the phone is completely soaked. A better solution would be a one piece case that allows full use of the screen, volume, and power buttons. Plugged in headphone and usb connection would only work with the case off. But I don't know how big the market would be for such a case..Good Luck
Not to mention if u coat cappy it would over heat because water proof phone are not made to dissipate heat the way the cappy is

Liquipel uses nano technology to coat the inside and outside from water. It repels liquid hence the name. I am not sure why I didn't follow through with sending my sgs2 to them when I first got it since they are only 5 minutes from my work. My next phone will get it for sure. Their technology coats it so well that even the liquid sensors will always stay white and not get wet. They showed how to at one of the electronic conventions when they completely dunked it under water and let it sit there. I think I read they even took pictures with a phone under water while it was dunked.

So I was clumsy and dropped the phone, screen shattered horribly. Ordered a new OEM screen + housing, and moved all the components over (was incredibly easy).
Only issue now is the rear camera won't focus. it tries, but fails. Front camera is fine. There isn't much to the camera, it's a module with a ribbon cable. All I can think of is I must of smudged the lens or something. Or perhaps the heat gun I used to melt the adhesive messed with it.
Anyone else have any ideas? I'm brainstorming at work before I head home and pop the cover to take a look.
Examine everything around the camera connection, make sure no resistors are knocked off or anything. Also, try to do a factory restore, its rare but sometimes software can get buggy after disconnecting parts. Clean the connection with a tooth brush and alcohol. And if all else fails replace the camera.

I popped the cover and didn't see anything obvious so I ordered a new camera (all of 13 bucks haha). I am almost wondering if maybe the camera got killed along with the screen when I dropped it. The OIS seems like it may not like being jarred too hard.

I think he meant to update the thread with what the solution to my problem is
I think the camera module got messed up either when I dropped it, or because I had the heat gun cranked up too high. The gun I have is really far too powerful for this type of stuff, I should had used a blow dryer. Live and learn!
Anyway, I ordered another module that will be here this week, and I'll update the thread if it resolves the issue. I'm sure it will, not really anything else that could be wrong (knock on wood)
I believe you could have possibly scratched the connectors. Please update us

The ribbon cable connector? anything is possible I suppose, but it went on and off pretty confidently. It is possible I scratched something on the camera module PCB board. There isn't really a good place to pry it up from the adhesive.

Did the camera replacement solve your issue?
thanks
Yes it did. Ends up the heat gun I used was a little too powerful and had melted the adhesive behind the lens on the camera.
New camera module for 10 bucks fixed it.
Hey,
I'm in need of screen replacement, and I see they come together with a frame (which is great, since mine is slightly scratched, too).
Anyways, at the price of about 100€, should I expect them to be original? Anyone replaced theirs with non-OEM, is difference apparent?
My biggest concern would be battery life, since the screen is what makes this phone's battery last so long (very low on energy consumption, or so I heard).
I ordered one of those screens with frame off eBay for my t MO d6616 z3. It's not oem, and the install is a pain. It requires you to remove all the internals off your old phone. The heat pipe that's built in is not of the same quality of your original. I noticed my old headpipes felt more metallic, and slight thicker compared to the new one. My phone also gets much hotter. My phone hasn't caught on fire surprisingly.
The new frame doesn't come with the copper tape that's in the old frame so, you are gonna have to carefully remove them off your old one.
So, yeah my screen didn't come sealed well onto the frame. I end up squishing it everytime it pops out. Also, the screen is a finger print magnetic, and it's probably not using glass.
Final words, my camera button stopped working, and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. My WiFi has gotten worse because I no longer get Internet upstairs. Probably due to shoddy install job I did.
Some helpful tips if you are going to follow through with this. Get a heat gun. I was able to reuse the back without having to use new adhesive which I had ordered anyways. And lastly say goodbye to waterproofing when you have to switch internals to a new frame. I heard you can use some type of glue meant for this. I think the problem would lie in resealing the USB port, audio jack and speakers.
Hope this helps

And for your question on battery life, I haven't noticed any significant amounts of battery drain.
Some additions: my screen bleeds light on the edge when it starts to bulge out. That's how I know I need to press the screen in.
Also it might be the way I put the speaker(top) back in but it vibrates and rattles the sound now. At high volume it's distorted.
I went from a near perfect phone to being grateful that it mostly works.
My friend bought one, asked a technician to put on the new screen.
Quality aint the same, the frame is not resting well to the side so you can see light bleeding on the sides all the time.
I think Sony uses a special kind of adhesive for the frame.
It now looks ugly as hell I highly advice against it. Might as well sell it for parts and buy a new one.

You could contact Motorola since it could possibly affect waterproofing but good luck on that. Sending it back may require you going without a phone for weeks or longer if you get it back at all. Motorola's support has gone to the dogs.

Are you serious? I'd think that this would make the device no longer water resistant.
I can confirm motorola outsourced support in bangladesh is very bad. They don't know what they are doing. "HMMM....ALLOW ME TO PLACE YOU ON HOLD FOR A MOMENT...HMMM" Seems like there's no support in the states at all. I just had one with a torn speaker seal replaced. This is what support said: Ship phone first, then get replacement. Get replacement first but get charged, then when moto receives my phone i'll get a refund. I went with the first option. Received fedex code to print the shipping label at fedex, was told not to use this code, received several more codes. Then received moto code to order a new phone. Ordered. Took weeks to build ship receive. Failed clearance in transit, had to be rerouted, delayed. Endless phone calls, chats, emails. Finally received replacement. I was never without a phone, but proving the broken seal is not physical damage done by me was a pain. Good luck proving factory defects. My first and last motorola device.

Well, Best Buy exchanged it with no hesitation.
Hmm, I've never seen metal bend itself.
mine totally came off , is it going to be a problem for the water resistance because i tested it by dunking it in water , there was no entry of water into the phone , but is it risky , will motorola exchange it , its been almost 6 months since i took it and i also rooted the phone , what do i do?

It is anodized aluminum.
I just did that to my phone while taking off the SUPCASE case I've bought. The case is an extremely tight fit, which feels nice and steady when using the phone and downright scary when trying to pull it off.
So I was trying to pull it off while holding my thumb and forefinger over that accent (motorola dimple area and middle of the accent). Suddenly I heard some suspicious sound (like something unclipping) and I saw the top part of the accent (around and above the camera) is little bit sticking out.
I just watched a disassembly video and I'm 95% sure that bent or even missing accent wouldn't affect water resistance - looks like the camera and flash LEDs are sealed. Accent is just a thin strip of anodized aluminum (not plastic) glued on top. The glue contact area around the camera is so small, once adhesion is lost and the accent is a bit bent, I guess it would keep sticking out. Did anybody figure out a solution to their bent accents? Besides bring it back to store, which I'm not gonna do since the store is on another continent and I already lost my warranty by unlocking the bootloader anyway. I'm considering trying to heat the accent a bit with wife's hair dryer, pry it off, bend it back to flat and glue back together. Question is what to use as a glue. Contact cement usually doesn't want to stick to plastic (where the accent goes on)... Maybe try super-thin automotive double-sided adhestive tape? Similar to what used to glue a cheap replacement glass to your screen.
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8+ Rogers, on June 8th.
I have had no problem on using my phone after all.
I did some facebook and texting on my bed and left my phone on table located right next to my bed right before sleep.
When i woke up today (June 17th. 2017), I found that my phone has been all bented, and screen has been shattered. but funny thing is the tempered screen protector has been safe but only phone itself has been all messed up. Phone smells like a smoke slightly as well. I turned off my phone right after.
I do not know how to upload pics here, so i uploaded all to my Google drive. Check it out. and share it.

Jokes aside, try giving it back from where you bought it and explain them (even if the whole story sounds weird)
Tbh, it seems extremely weird (at least for me) that this damage was done by the phone itself
Looks damaged more than exploded

I think for the phone to do that to itself it would need to exploded... That's just weird.
Definitely seems like it was caused by a physical force outside of the phone, it's not possible for a phone to bend like that by itself under any circumstances. Even the battery exploding would not cause a bend like that, maybe being ran over by a car would? Remember that the S8 is built like a tank, not a single person that I've ever seen attempting a bend test has been able to cause any sort of bend to the frame, let alone bending the phone enough to break the screen.
The smell of smoke is completely understandable in an extreme bend like that, because the bend can damage the battery and cause short circuits inside the phone. I doubt that you can get a refund, because there's no way that damage like that could be caused without an external force being applied to the phone. The only logical conclusions that I can think of are you bending the phone in your sleep (not probable, since you need tools to bend it like that), or someone else bending it. It could maybe be possible to cause damage like that by bending the phone against a table, but it's not possible by using only your hands. You should probably investigate more on who could have done it, very strange

Tempered screen protectors can bend a lot more than the display without breaking
I'm sorry to say this, and I am NOT questioning your honesty.
But when batteries fail and expand, they release tremendous amounts of heat that would discolor the AMOLED panel and most definitely explode from the force of having to bend the phone and crack it like that.
Both the back and front panels on the S8 are structural and need a tremendous amount of force and heat to part.
External force bent the phone and cracked it. Who did it, why and when is up to you to find out.
