No bluetooth audio after pie update - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Hi, I just updated to pie unfortunately ive got a bit of an issue...
Indeed, I cannot get bluetooth audio in any form (Ive tried my bt recepter using aptx as well as an old bt speaker using sbc)
Connexion is ok and I can adjust volume using the built in buttons on the side of the phone but got no sound comming out ...
Ive wiped cache after the update and Im rooted with magisk (using V4A but i also tried with it disabled as well)
Also wiped memory of the bluetooth system app.
Thanks

Can you try disabling bluetooth scanning?
Go To Setting, search for Bluetooth Scanning and turn it off.
Try connecting to your devices after that. Also worth checking if you can see your connected device, try clicking on the device name and see if options like 'Media Audio' and 'Phine Calls' are s witched on.
Try these report back.

ok,
- Bluetooth scanning was already off, tried to turn it on then off again
- Media audio, phone calls were on, tried to play with the switch as well
- Media volume in sound settings is maxed out
- Do not disturb mode is off
- I get connecting/disconnecting sounds when I connect to the bt speaker but no media audio

Are you using the stereo sound mod by any chance?

A2dp is working flawless here, i can honestly say that my phone feels complete now, i dont believe different kernel will break a2dp, i was on cm7/faux and now cm7/morfic latest and all is well.
Thank you cm_arcee and cm team.
So ur using faux and morfics with nightly 160 and your still getting a2dp? That's awesome. My phone feels complete now too. Don't forget nightly 160 is 2.3.7

Anyone else?

I've only tried Bluetooth audio in my car and only the stock music player was working. No other apps such as Youtube or Google Listen were working. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon but even having stock audio player working is awesome
Oh and I'm on nightly 164 for what it's worth
Ohh wow that sucks. Thanks for ur input and is anyone else having this same problem?

Which nightly version are you on?
All apps work for me. Pandora, Google Music Beta, Hulu+, Netflix, etc. all work for me. I'm on nightly 161.

Fits kang from 10/10.
everything works fine on my end too.
I'm on CM7.1 Stable mod and stock kernel.
Is it me or does Bluetooth Audio for phone calls not work? I paired my Bluetooth headset and the audio was routing to the speaker instead of the headset. The Bluetooth toggle during phone calls acts as the speaker toggle.

I have this issue *only* when wifi calling is enabled. If I disable wifi calling, the audio goes through my bluetooth headset.
Is the issue from wifi calling then?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Ah, interesting observation. I did have wifi calling on at that time.
Another thing: Is it me or do I only get SMS delivery reports when on wifi calling only? When I switch to the mobile network it's like I didn't even turn delivery reports.

Anyone having apn issues, did it get fixed with the latest nightlies? Because it is fixed now
I don't use SMS... I only use Google Voice for that since it's free. ;-)
It seems that wifi calling breaks many things on cyanogenmod that work on stock.
1) try to pull your account status with wifi calling enabled using my account.
2) Bluetooth doesn't work with wifi calling enabled
3) searching for apns from the settings menu is broken with wifi calling enabled.
I'm sure there is more... somehow cyanogenmod and wifi calling don't play nice and prevent the 2g/3g/4g networks from being accessed period.

unable to transmit voice using aux cable in car

i cant transmit on my tb when its plugged in to my aux port in my car. i can hear just fine through the car speakers.
i did a xda search and Google search, cant find solution.
checked sound settings and tried different kernel.
can i get an assist?
CM 7 1.4.
Elaborate on transmit? Do you mean it won't pick up on your voice?
i can hear the person i am calling but they cant hear me. sorry, im in the navy and use the naby lingo
CM 7 1.4.
well, ehen it's plugged in through the aux it's basically the same as plugging in headphones... just instead of it going through headphones, it goes through your car stereo. basically, it's only for audio out from the phone. it will not pick up your voice.

Took me a while to find this (from teambamf forums)
Settings -> Call -> TTY -> TTY VCO
Works like a champ. I have a really good set of headphones I listen to music and audiobooks on. They're very durable and sound pretty good. First set I've had that lasted me more than 4-6 weeks. No inline microphone. Now I can just use the on-board mic.

Been a problem on aosp based roms on the TBolt since launch. Setting the tty works, but the sound is horrible on the other end from what I've noticed.
Thanks ghrubi! I just switched roms for the first time sine the first TheoryRom came out and I was having the same issue.

anyone have problems with the phone mic running CM10?

I'm running CM 10-20120919-nightly-evita and everything was working fine for about a day... then I was using my bluetooth headphones and I switched a call from them to internal phone. Since then my mic, doesnt work. It still works while using bluetooth and speaker phone. If anyone can help with support or has had this problem please help.

Yes, multiple times. I have tried returning to my bluetooth head phones and now it wont even let me uncheck the "use for phone audio" box if that means anything.
If I'm reading correct you on a September build? There is so many fixes since then including some mic issues. Download the latest nightly. And the stable build is a bit misleading cause it really just has a HTML file with the source in it.

[Q] ViperXL 3.1.0 Jelly Bean + Headset's Problem

Hello friends I open this topic because I have a HTC One X ATT and install the 3.1.0 rom ViperXL Jelly Bean. Everything works fine except the headphone input. when I connect the headphones do not work and neither does the headset connected icon.
someone else this happened to you or if you have solution.
Thank you very much and greetings
Whenever headset routing seems to be broken, I always use the app "soundabout". Its free in play store

I installed this ROM last night and haven't had any issues with it at all. Headset and all audio works fine. I use it through my car stereo as well since I don't listen to regular radio that often anymore.
I would suggest a full wipe and a re-flash. It's a great ROM and about as user-friendly customizable as they come.
And welcome to XDA
I'm having problems with bluetooth & headset buttons. Will not press skip pause etc.

On ViperXL, or in general (did it work on another ROM)?
What headset? For any headset intended for use with iPhones, the buttons won't work correctly on our phone.
I'm on 3.1.0 and my headset and beats works fine been using it all day
Thank you all for answering but I did everything and reach the conclucion that hadware damage the headphones. I think it was for connecting to stereo or something :banghead:

Well, I have a Belkin Tunecast Auto system in my car. The buttod does not work at all. It works with my other phones. It used to work on Cleanrom 5.1. I'm considering going back to Cleanrom 5.1 or waiting for JokerXL 3.0.

[Q] How to disable the external speaker when headphones are in?

Hello
Whenever I have my headphones in, the music plays through the headphones. However, notifications and such if they're turned on will produce sound through the external speaker even if headphones are in. Is there a way to disable this feature? I was hoping it would be possible to disable the external speaker when headphones are in, and only produce sound through the headphones.
Thanks for reading!
Zealex
I use an app called "soundabout". That's the only way I have found to make it work.
