Hello, i'm new on the forums!
I've been trying to update my phone (Honor 8) with the official update tool in the settings, but nothing is found.
But, when i go on the right corner of the update window, and i select "download the full package again", i've found an update (FRD-L09C432B407-FULL), but when i try to download it, it just starts, and directly displays a message "Download failed".
I've tried to use Firmware Finder, download an update (via VPN method), but none works, it just displays the same error ("Download failed").
My current version is FRD-L09C432B405, it's an european device (french, to be precise). It's not rooted, still on EMUI 5.0.1.
I've tried many things, but nothing worked, i don't why it doesn't want to download any update.
If somebody has a clue, i'd be glad to see it !
Thank you in advance,
TheSnipeFox

Hi, thanks for your reply! Sadly, my Type-C port doesn't do data and quick charge anymore, it just charges it, but no data.

Are you sure that port is faulty? I had similar problem, no data and sometimes no quick charge, but I bought new cable and it works just fine

in system OTA app, did you try to download latest full package, instead os a simple update search ? ("Télécharger le nouveau package complet" in french )
That's what allowed me to get an update lately.

If i go for a normal update (so, the normal "check updates" button), it just doesn't find any update. If i try "télécharger le nouveau package complet", it finds the "FRD-L09C432B407-FULL" update, but it fails to download it. When i press "download and install", it waits for ~1second, and displays the error "download failed"

Do you have an adblocker which could prevent from downloading ? If not, I'd suggest to clear system updates data and try again.

Decided to make a thread on it since I have two posts floating around that have helped people:
I was once one of the large group that the OTA JH7 Update failed at 50%
However, Today after downloading Kies Mini, I was successfully able to upgrade and remain "stock" JH7 from update without root etc.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
THERE APPEARS THERE MAY BE ISSUES WITH KIES MINI ON 64BIT SYSTEMS - USE A 32 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM
Launcher Pro and Kies Mini may not work well together, if you are updating from a NON-FRESH JF6 you must revert to TouchWiz (Stock) Launcher
1.) Flashed a fresh JF6 ODIN One-Click. (With power off, you can enter download mode by holding both volume buttons and inserting USB once ODIN is open)
2.) Enabled USB Debugging and Ran Master Clear.
3.) Installed Kies-Mini on the PC and let it install the new drivers etc.
4.) Checked phone to be sure it was clear of any additional files on the SD.
5.) Under Settings - Applications - USB Settings - Selected "Ask on connection" (you MAY also need to re-enable USB Debugging, try without it first)
5.) Started Kies-Mini and then plugged in my device selecting "Kies"
6.) Upon device detection it notified me an update was available.
7.) Ran update and I am now Official STOCK JH7 including the new QuickOffice and Media Hub
Proof that it made it to 100%: (This screen shows after download & install - It is verifying the install)
You find a download to the JF6 ODIN One-Click here: (Thanks to DESIGNGEARS)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
You can download Kies Mini for the Captivate Here: (Thanks to SAMSUNG)

Special Thanks to Krad for notifying the community that Kies Mini was now available!
Thanks to shawnl01 and ScottyNuttz for discovering that "Enable USB Debugging" may solve a few problems
Thanks to Dxtra for pointing out that Launcher Pro and Kies Mini do not work together

Worked for me. Kies-Mini, not the full Kies. Just "Unmount SD Card" and leave it unmounted. Set USB setting to "Samsung Kies". Uncheck "USB Debugging Mode".
This assuming that you've done Odin3 (JF6 flash and Master Clear) correctly, and cleared user and data cache.

Included, thanks for the notification of the release of Kies mini and making this possible for so many!
A little nit picking, there is no such firmware as JH6. Please update your OP with correct information. The first release firmware is JF6.
You sir are correct, thanks for catching the mistake!
JH7 over Kies Mini
OK, I decided to give this a try. Here is what I did:
1) Flashed back to stock (JF6);
2) Cleared cache & user data;
3) Formatted SD card;
4) Connected to PC and Kies picked it up and quickly indicated update of JH7 was available;
5) Kies updated - it took about 15 minutes to download and install.
The first think I did was test the GPS and it locked indoors in less than 10 seconds. I did not have WiFi or "Use wireless networks" on. It gave 10 meters accuracy within about 20 seconds.
I also noticed the media scanning was very fast and there seems to be very little lag. All-in-all, so far, I think this is a good update. I will post again after I've tested the GPS out and about and a week or so of use to see if the lag remains minimal.
This whole update ordeal is sorta tickin' me off.
For whatever reason, I have not been able to install OTA. "Update is failed." message appears every time.
Attempted update last night with standard UK Kies. Said no upgrade was available.
Just attempted Kies mini and every time the phone is plugged into the computer is causes the application to throw an "Application has stopped working" error under Windows 7.
Phone shows JF7. CSC and PDA show JF6.
What... the... hell!
I am also on Windows 7 and had no issue, did you try using the software provided above? Also, did you remove the other version of KIES and follow step by step?
Also maybe try using a different USB port, and run the application in compatibility mode

Yes. Software provided above. Removed all traces of previous Kies. Attempted in XP compatibility mode. Ran with Administrator privileges. All of it.
Still nada.
Guess it's on to Odin, reflash stock JF6 and start fresh.
Anyone have any ideas about the unregistered I get on kies mini? My phone is registered with samsung if thats what it means.
When I was on Cognition etc, I was still able to connect my device to Kies Mini just not update it.
Try this:
On your device, make USB connection to Kies as default by going to [Settings] > [About phone] > [USB settings].
Then unmount both of your SD Cards, Internal and External.
Go where your installed Kies. For example:" C:\Program Files\Samsung\KiesMini" look for AMiniLauncher and start it
Then try to connect your device.
Now im getting a "failed to connect to the model information server" Anyone else experience this?
EDIT: Seems to only happen when in USB debugging mode. When I switch out USB debugging I get the unregistered error.

This is true, I didn't make note of that because the instructions assume that they are starting by flashing a fresh JF6 through ODIN.
But If they make the attempt from a non fresh install that would be a very good point. - added to the instructions! Thank you!

Make sure you are using Kies USB mode and has TouchWiz as your default launcher and you're on your home screen when you connected your USB cable. All three must be met and if you're doing right, your phone will show MTP Application screen.
Ok, so I'l scoured the internet and have been unsuccessful so far. I'm trying to install TWRP on my wife's Idol 3 5.5 and have been unable to do so thus far.
I've tried sideloading it but get :
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Also, I tried doing it with adb, but my Win10 doesn't seem to see the phone? I've installed all the drivers I can find, and still no good. Anyone have tips, or a more complete walkthrough of EVERYTHING you have to do to achieve this?
Also, I'm doing it now because the screen is broken so my wife can't use it, so the screen is unresponsive. a mouse in the otg works, but can't have a mouse and the adb at the same time.
Thanks for any help!

I can suggest the method that 100% works for me (did it several times after restoring to full stock)...
1. Make sure you have proper drivers installed on your PC (the easiest is just to install Mobile Upgrade Q).
1. Get the TWRP package (.img file) from here or from here. Different versions, but all of them work.
2. Carefully follow this procedure (download the tool, put your phone into the download mode, and flash the image to the recovery partition). Good idea to back up your stock recovery first (it's all described there).
That's it. Enjoy!
So you probably did something wrong trying to get a custom recovery or root on your FNF Ifive Mini 4s. Well I did too, that's why I'm writing this
WARNING: This will remove ALL files from your tablet.
Just follow these steps and your tablet should be back on track soon!
So first you have to download FNF Ifive's official upgrade tool which can be found here
Press on the latest one, which as of April 2 is called ifive_mini_4S_US_1.0.6_20170330 Upgrade Tool&Firmware.
Now download both files in the onedrive folder. One is the recovery tool and the other is the latest firmware.
Extract both to a folder of your choosing.
Enter the folder called Driver and run Driverinstall.exe as admin.
Press uninstall driver, press ok and press install driver.
Go back to the main folder and run FactoryTool.exe as admin.
Turn off your tablet.
Enter loadermode on your tablet by connecting it to your computer with the included cable and pressing the powerbutton and Vol-.
Click on "Firmware" in the FactoryTool.
Locate the .img file you downloaded and extracted.
Check the box called "Restore".
Click on "Run" and wait for it to say success.
After it says success you should disconnect the tablet from your computer and just wait for it to boot. This will take a few minutes.
Success! You have now fixed your bootloop and updated to the latest firmware if you did not have it already!
If you had any problems I will be happy to help you
Error
Thanks for your help.
I tried it but it never end with "success". It says: "Wait for loader fail".
I don't know what I don't have to do.

That is probably because you are doing something wrong when entering loadermode or because you forgot to first uninstall the driver and then install it. When entering loadermode you must make sure the tablet is connected to the pc with the application open and running. Then you turn it off, and enter loadermode by pressing the power button and volume down simultaneously.
Hope this helps
Worked!!
Many thanks.
I manage to get the tablet working. I tried many times and I finally get it to work.

By using this tutorial.
Hi,
I successfully upgraded the firmware, it says Build Number ifive_mini_4S_1.0.8-W in my settings but my device still doesn't work properly. The message "Unfortunately Google Play Store/services has stopped" pops up frequently and the boot screen sometimes shows up out off nowhere closing all my apps and locking the device. I also can't open the Play Store at all. I always get the "Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped" message.
Once I rebooted the device I got a bootloop but it stopped after a while and now my Wi-Fi does not work anymore. I can turn it on but it doesn't find any networks and turns itself off after a few seconds.
I read that some models are just straight up broken. The serial number of my device is P1QRMW1HAR. I bought it a year ago or so and I had problems with bootloops all the time so I barely used the device and hoped for a firmware upgrade that would fix everything. Now my patience is about to run out and I really hope that someone knows how to fix this stupid China device...
ifve mini 4s not loading , FVF logo not booting
hii...i did the upgrade from 1.1.6c to 1.1.7c but is still have same problem ,the upgrade tool showed the upgrade is success my tablet restart three times but was unable to boot and getting the logo FNF,and when i turn off for many houres and turn it on iam getting this message.

Hello,I find "ifive_mini_4S_US_1.0.6_20170330" for a long time,can you share it with me?my email:[email protected],THANKS!
Hi everybody! Bought this phone 2 weeks ago, a very awesome phone with the price.
So, now the Nougat update rolled out - I so much want it. I immideately checked my phones Software updates - and nothing was there (also nothing in Sony PC Companion). Long story, after some research in I found out that my phone hasnt had software updates AT ALL. The build number is 33.2.A.2.35, which is and old build, and I have NO updates. So, using xpericheck.com I found out that my phones has Claro (Costa Rica) CDA which actually hasnt had updates. Then I tried using flashtool to flash stock latest Marshmallow, because i saw Nougat has a lot of problems... I live in Estonia and I bought phone from a local shop, couldnt excpect it may have like Costa Rica CDA...
So, my main problems:
I cant get Nougat on my phone (or any updates at all because that Costa Rica rom has no updates)
When I tried to flash latest marshmallow rom from flashtool, it says "Error, need drivers for the phone". I have all drivers installed from flastool drivers folder, installed XA adb drivers... Nothing. When I connect my phone in download mode, the pc starts installing some draivers, but my phone turns on by itself soon and Windows says "Failed to install draivers".
So help me to get the updates or draivers, I just cant believe I have to sit and accept that Claro sh*t.

- next 6 (reboot to erecovery)
phone will restart to eRecovery.
Click: FIND OTHER VERSION AND DOWNLOAD
connect with WLAN (if you didnt connect) and it will start download automaticly.
Sometimes it is so that the system will come back immediately. But if that did not work, after updating with eRecovery, go to System Update. You will get a message about system rollback to the previous saved version, click and wait
