Thanks , just install Magisk, works like charms!!

Hey folks,
Newbie here. Would you say it's worth rooting the phone on Pie? I've had my phone for ~6 months and looking to maybe start tweaking it a bit.

As always, it depends on how you plant to take advantage of root access. I personally use root for the following reasons:
- Ad Blocking
- System wide dark theme (substratum)
- Custom squeeze actions
- Viper Audio Tweaks (xloud)
- Change emojis to look normal

Thanks mate,
I plan on doing it purely for the Ad blocking and removing the Bloatware (No thanks to Vodafone). I wish that we could also sort out the Analogue and Digital audio adapter issues. It bugs me how you have to source an actual Google adapter if you want Aux.

Life after Xposed - what apps are you using?

Hey guys, I've been waiting patiently for xposed to hit N however it looks like we might never get it. I was wondering what apps/mods everyone has been using in the mean time - possibly ones that function much like a favorite module etc.

I don't know the ins and outs of the development but briefly looking through the threads for N support a good deal of people are saying we most likely won't get it. With the security changes it seems like it's become much harder and, keeping in mind I haven't used xposed for about 4 or 5 years, that support for 6.0 was unexpected.
With the new phone I figured a few power users came over, and without xposed found their tweaks elsewhere via other apps and mods.
I mainly used it for luxury things like changing the UI (system icons in statusbar, misc system settings, volume button music control, etc.), which can also be accomplished with the many ROMs we have. Other uses were tweaks to snapchat, instagram, etc., that were nice things to have but I'd much rather have a newer phone and newer OS than stick with something old just for that.
Generally though, many of the features I liked about using Xposed years ago are either implemented in stock Android and applications themselves now, or can have similar solutions with just root.
Well, I have just a few things I use Xposed for and here are my alternatives for N:
Battery % and center clock: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/themes/mods-nmf26q-internet-traffic-speed-t3529573
Navbar swap recents/back: <same thread as above>
Headphone volume warning disable: Not sure how it disappeared, but I think this mod did it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/themes/mod-enabling-dual-speaker-audio-playback-t3492257
Animation speed @ 0.75% (I believe this is the perfect speed, not too fast nor slow ): http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/1...-animation-speed-android-works-stock-devices/
Enable Google assistant: Oh wait.. the pixel already comes with it
Youtube block ADs: <no alternative found> If ya guys got any solution, please share!
Not a huge list, but that's enough customization for me.

Oreo vs Nougat

Guys whom have updated, is it any better?
Any key differences
after updating to OREO everything works fine for me.
nothing is missed.
big differences:
* newer security patch level and better battery performance
* (and if it should work: ) project treble
BTW:
dirty over vs. new installation = in most cases it seems to make no differences (my experience)
:good:
Better multitasking, smoother transitions, menus are changed a little bit but overall it looks almost the same as emui 7. There are a lot of under the hood improvements such as notification settings better memory management and battery life.
Visually it's different (because new Android version).
What I found is that the lockscreen notifications for audio and video players have a visual bug - the controls are slightly off to the right so the 'next' button goes over the thumbnail and is hard to see.
Definitely better battery life. Don't really care for the new System settings layout but who cares, you only use it rarely? Never use stock launchers, so again who cares? Other than that it is great.
Better battery life for me ! All is working great.
Thanks gents
Still on the beta 321 version (567 US version)...STILL WAITING
But, the 321 version for me is stable
Oreo has all better things compared to Nougat except custom rom and magisk as well as xposed. It has only root with SuperSU, not enough for me. Will come back to Oreo later if Xposed is compatible

What are you using xposed for may I ask.
I used to run magisk to get YouTube ad free and ad blocker but there are ways around that now

I use xposed for many reasons as well as functions cuz no phone is perfect. And with xposed I can transform my phone to its hidden perfect mode lol It contains wide range of useful modules so it always make you feel interested in exploring and enjoying.
I am experiencing a few little issues that I am hoping will be addressed soon, though to be fair I think the problem is because of EMUI 8. Main problem is some of my widgets wont update. Oreo has some little features like app shortcuts which are cool but I wouldnt rush to upgrade.

Upgrading to Oreo: Worth it?

Hi peeps. I'm currently running my U11 on Rooted 7.1 Nougat Stock ROM, which I love to pieces, it's very smooth, fast & stable.
I would like to know what peoples experiences are with Oreo, since it's a big job to upgrade once you've rooted. Are there any real advantages to updating? Is it worth the hassle?
Give me the skinny
cheers :good:

I was glad to get it mainly for two reasons - A it allows our company client certificates to be imported that were too advanced or something for Nougat (so now I can browse our internal systems from phone) and B there is LDAC support (useful if you have high-end Sony BT headphones) and other Bluetooth hi-res audio codecs on top of regular aptX. I also find the UI neater, and like new option for do not disturb mode (notifications off until next planned silent time ends) but that alone wouldn't make me flash. Let's see what others have to say
Oreo was the start of all my problems... It's a tough situation though because Oreo brings with it the latest Android security patches...
But have had endless network, SMS and Wifi issues ever since.
Good luck!
Icons are UGGLLLYYY! as hell! And yes i know themes ... but cant fix all problems - you need to change launcher =(

I suspect upgrade process is at fault, which wouldn't occur when re-flashing the rooted phone and restoring or re-installing your apps there. Just my guess though. Personally I didn't experience any such problems after OTA to Oreo.

Well, setting HTC Classical icons in Personalize - Edit current theme - Icons fixes most except for Google ones. I didn't really like how Oreo (or HTC?) rounded all the icons, with Google ones it works IMO.

Themes / Apps / Mods [Magisk Module] A52 Hidden Mods

A Magisk module adding the mods from ShaDisNX255's Thread plus many extra mods systemlessly!
Credit goes to the original creator UltraHQ Github and Sloobot Github for porting to the A52.
This is a fork of Sloobot's work to provide continuity of the project after he decided to EOL it.
Note: It should only be used on the Galaxy A52 (SM-A526B). Trying on other devices is at your own risk.
In case something doesn't work, remove the module. It will revert everything to its normal state.
In case you bootloop (which is extremely unlikely), boot into safe mode and remove the module or install the Magisk Bootloop Protector module.
If you have any problems, please open a new issue on GitHub or post here.

Could there be something so that false location applications do not close on their own or restart? For example, fake gps joystick that closes itself after a while
Does it work on A52 on one ui 5.1 ?

Don't think that's possible. The best I can recommend is to systemize your app with App Systemizer Magisk module. I have a battery monitoring app that needs to run 24/7, systemizing it significantly reduces the amount of times Android closes it. It still gets closed, but it's probably once every 24 to 72 hours.
Edit: This is now possible. I can give further information on how if need be (Galaxy devices only).

The current release works fine on One UI 5.0 so I would assume so. I haven't updated my phone since so can't confirm for sure. Chance of bricking is very very slim, and you can install Magisk Bootloop Protector module to help against that in such rare situations.

Yeah sure no problem. The one by HuskyDG v1.8.1 is the one I use (and it has stopped a bootloop before so can confirm it works). With the "Advanced" setup.
Although I've just Googled his GitHub repo and he seemed to have either deleted it or made it private which is a shame, you can probably find a mirror somewhere though.
Edit: someone has provided a download in another XDA thread.

thank you nie długo przetestuje na one ui 5.1
I've just published v2.5.5 with some new enhancements
Notably I've merged both devices (4G and 5G) back into one, I think for some of you, you will have to remove the old module and add the new one as the name it checks to see if a new version is out has changed.

I've discovered this is now possible to implement for Galaxy devices. If you can tell me the package name of the app when it is installed I will add it to the next release.
E.g. for AccuBattery it is 'com.digibites.accubattery'

Sorry if it wasn't clear but I meant to stop apps closing themselves as that was what I was replying to. The A51 is a different chipset to the A52 despite being similar, ideally you will need someone with said device to make a Magisk module dedicated to that.

Question Any tweak tools/oxygen os toolkits or anything for OOS 13? And is there a way to enable userdebug mode?

Im trying to find tools that can enable more customization and tweaks than what comes with stock OOS. I have a global converted tmobile LE2117. If anyone knows of any APKs or magisk/lsposed modules that are similar to gravitybox or firefds kit but for oneplus/OOS 13 any links/help would be appreciated. i tried the AOSP toolkit to no avail. I also have tried the Oxygen OS tweaks app on the play store but even its lacking a bunch of features and tweaks that i miss from Samsung galaxy note 9. Then there is LuckyTool for OOS but it also is missing features. Things like power button long press for torch and volume keys change media and stuff like that. Im also tryin to look into possibly changing the build mode to userdebug or change ro.debuggable from 0 to 1. I want to be able to change my boot animations. And the last thing would be customizing the fingerprint icon and other lockscreen stuff. Thank you.
Oxygen is byfare most costumizeable rom so , not sure what's your looking for with magisk you can change the fonts and emotie.
Butt that's about it I think ...

then you havent used OneUI 1-5 + GoodLock. Samsung absolutely killed it with customizations and features. Even stock OneUI has a bunch of creature comforts OOS just didnt add or they overlooked them.
My only Samsung phone is unfortunately dead it was the Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung make quality phone butt I moved on to affordable brand sinds then i own 2 time 1+6
En this phone one+9 !
And your probably right butt Samsung is not really the right leak as 1plus !

But then you root, and lose the ability to use goodlock... so you need to use lsposed and gravitybox to get the tweaks back.
OP lsposed AOSPmods and Xposed edge pro you will find almost endless features between the two
*AOSPmods more for customizing, Xposed Edge for adding features like volume button launching (use double press to launch and tasker script)
PS: AOSPmods https://github.com/siavash79/AOSPMods
Xposed Edge is on play store (most useful module ever imo, so many features its insane and its 100 percent stable)

goodlock isnt disable if you root? i used stock android 10 rom on my note 9 rooted and goodlock still worked. and even then, most samsung phones have OneUI/android 10-13 ports from newer devices. and those usually all come with either optional goodlock install or goodlock support. as far as i understand, goodlock isnt root specific i believe, more just it being only country specific.
as far as AOSPmods go, i tried them on OOS13 to no avail. but i just reinstalled the TMO global conversion stock android 11 rom so i will try it again on there
Xposed Edge ive never heard of and i will check that out thank you.

I traded it in to get this phone.
It was probably knox... the phone hardly had a scene, I had to pay to get it rooted, and I was never able to update. These were conditions of the root.
Regardless I was able to do everything goodlock did with xposed, so in the end it doesn't really matter. Plus no samsung bloat.

its a shame AOSP Mods doesnt support android 11. I havent had much luck with finding tweak/customization apps, modules, or twrp zip. I really miss my OneUI phone, easily hands down the best skin/variant of android made.
Why not use Android 13 and custom rom?
Why not use custom launcher like nova that trivializes OneUI or OOS? Exponentially more feature rich.

i prefer Lawnchair over any other 3rd party launcher
And i have tried android 13 custom roms but i really hate stock android. Maybe if there was a modded/custom OOS 13 rom i would be more inclined to try one. Until then i stay away from stock/AOSP roms.
