Question Any tweak tools/oxygen os toolkits or anything for OOS 13? And is there a way to enable userdebug mode? - OnePlus 9

Im trying to find tools that can enable more customization and tweaks than what comes with stock OOS. I have a global converted tmobile LE2117. If anyone knows of any APKs or magisk/lsposed modules that are similar to gravitybox or firefds kit but for oneplus/OOS 13 any links/help would be appreciated. i tried the AOSP toolkit to no avail. I also have tried the Oxygen OS tweaks app on the play store but even its lacking a bunch of features and tweaks that i miss from Samsung galaxy note 9. Then there is LuckyTool for OOS but it also is missing features. Things like power button long press for torch and volume keys change media and stuff like that. Im also tryin to look into possibly changing the build mode to userdebug or change ro.debuggable from 0 to 1. I want to be able to change my boot animations. And the last thing would be customizing the fingerprint icon and other lockscreen stuff. Thank you.

Oxygen is byfare most costumizeable rom so , not sure what's your looking for with magisk you can change the fonts and emotie.
Butt that's about it I think ...

then you havent used OneUI 1-5 + GoodLock. Samsung absolutely killed it with customizations and features. Even stock OneUI has a bunch of creature comforts OOS just didnt add or they overlooked them.

My only Samsung phone is unfortunately dead it was the Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung make quality phone butt I moved on to affordable brand sinds then i own 2 time 1+6
En this phone one+9 !
And your probably right butt Samsung is not really the right leak as 1plus !

But then you root, and lose the ability to use goodlock... so you need to use lsposed and gravitybox to get the tweaks back.
OP lsposed AOSPmods and Xposed edge pro you will find almost endless features between the two
*AOSPmods more for customizing, Xposed Edge for adding features like volume button launching (use double press to launch and tasker script)
PS: AOSPmods https://github.com/siavash79/AOSPMods
Xposed Edge is on play store (most useful module ever imo, so many features its insane and its 100 percent stable)

goodlock isnt disable if you root? i used stock android 10 rom on my note 9 rooted and goodlock still worked. and even then, most samsung phones have OneUI/android 10-13 ports from newer devices. and those usually all come with either optional goodlock install or goodlock support. as far as i understand, goodlock isnt root specific i believe, more just it being only country specific.
as far as AOSPmods go, i tried them on OOS13 to no avail. but i just reinstalled the TMO global conversion stock android 11 rom so i will try it again on there
Xposed Edge ive never heard of and i will check that out thank you.

My last phone A32 5G locked out all Samsung apps if root.

I traded it in to get this phone.
It was probably knox... the phone hardly had a scene, I had to pay to get it rooted, and I was never able to update. These were conditions of the root.
Regardless I was able to do everything goodlock did with xposed, so in the end it doesn't really matter. Plus no samsung bloat.

its a shame AOSP Mods doesnt support android 11. I havent had much luck with finding tweak/customization apps, modules, or twrp zip. I really miss my OneUI phone, easily hands down the best skin/variant of android made.

Why not use Android 13 and custom rom?
Why not use custom launcher like nova that trivializes OneUI or OOS? Exponentially more feature rich.

i prefer Lawnchair over any other 3rd party launcher
And i have tried android 13 custom roms but i really hate stock android. Maybe if there was a modded/custom OOS 13 rom i would be more inclined to try one. Until then i stay away from stock/AOSP roms.

[Q] What can the average power user actually do with the s6 once it is rooted?

The subject may have seemed weird, but I've been really pondering this. When I had my S5 I rooted it, installed Xposed, and there was all kinds of cool tweaks I could do to fix all the flaws of the S5.
I rooted the S6 edge when I got it, and found out that Xposed is not compatible (32 bit only?) and there's no telling when the dev will actually care to make it work. So I have a rooted S6 Edge, and couldn't figure out a reason why. The S6 Edge actually doesn't have a lot of the flaws that I needed to fix on the S5, so I'm at a loss.
So please tell me, what do I do with a rooted S6 Edge that makes it better than stock? Is there something like Xposed that I don't know about that actually makes it useful for the average power user?
TIA
Installing Custom Roms.
Currently for the S6 you have the option of installing a Deodex or Odex version of a Rom. XtreSto Lite gives you the choice in how you want your phone to run. Also the ability to have a custom recovery like TWRP. You can literally take an entire backup of your entire phone, apps, data and keep it for when your phone starts to slow down, play up or derps itself from an install.
Tweaks
Installing things like 3Minit Framework or Alliance Framework which is out allows you to add more features. Longpress Volume keys, Extended Power Menus, Custom Lockscreen Carrier stuff, different statusbar icons to name a few. While Xposed provides you with runtime modifications, these frameworks are the only real mods which we can use until Xposed is eventually supported for S6 variants.
Some apps need root access too. BetterBatterStats, ES File explorer has a root mode. Depends on what apps you use.
Overall "just rooting" provides your average power user with more options than stock. You can also have newer firmwares sooner so you can try out features that have been hyped quicker. (and then roll back easy with the custom recovery if you dont like).
I came from an S3 with Xposed to an S6 without and its been difficult. You might consider to drop a donation to arter97, who plans to extend support for his Xposed workaround to arm64 devices, namely S6 and beyond.
arter97's Xposed Thread for Samsung Devices
arter97's Fundraiser
Hope this helps.
Edit: If you havent had the opportunity to use Xposed it provides the abilitiy to really easily modify to your phone. Youtube adAway, SnapPrefs (for snapchat) are just some modules that you download and install from the Xposed repository, instead of having to wait for features to be implemented, you can apply them yourself, really really easily.

I found out about Xposed and it was the whole reason I rooted my S5. Loved it, and used the modules that would disable the 'volume warning' and 'usb cover warning'. When I rooted my S6, I tried to install Xposed only to find out it was useless, and thus the reason for the thread.
The fact that you said this...

... at least lets me know that you're sharing my frustration. I'll look into 3Minit and Alliance, thanks. I didn't know about these other frameworks.
If you are running a S6 Edge try look at edgarf's XtraStoLite Roms. Its got Alliance included as an optional addon. (Alliance has been around for a few months and 3Minit currently looks like its just starting up).
My main reasons always: File managers with advanced permissions, titanium backup, processor throttlers. I'm not into custom ROMs, unless they provide some truly unique functions.

Oreo vs Nougat

Guys whom have updated, is it any better?
Any key differences
after updating to OREO everything works fine for me.
nothing is missed.
big differences:
* newer security patch level and better battery performance
* (and if it should work: ) project treble
BTW:
dirty over vs. new installation = in most cases it seems to make no differences (my experience)
:good:
Better multitasking, smoother transitions, menus are changed a little bit but overall it looks almost the same as emui 7. There are a lot of under the hood improvements such as notification settings better memory management and battery life.
Visually it's different (because new Android version).
What I found is that the lockscreen notifications for audio and video players have a visual bug - the controls are slightly off to the right so the 'next' button goes over the thumbnail and is hard to see.
Definitely better battery life. Don't really care for the new System settings layout but who cares, you only use it rarely? Never use stock launchers, so again who cares? Other than that it is great.
Better battery life for me ! All is working great.
Thanks gents
Still on the beta 321 version (567 US version)...STILL WAITING
But, the 321 version for me is stable
Oreo has all better things compared to Nougat except custom rom and magisk as well as xposed. It has only root with SuperSU, not enough for me. Will come back to Oreo later if Xposed is compatible

What are you using xposed for may I ask.
I used to run magisk to get YouTube ad free and ad blocker but there are ways around that now

I use xposed for many reasons as well as functions cuz no phone is perfect. And with xposed I can transform my phone to its hidden perfect mode lol It contains wide range of useful modules so it always make you feel interested in exploring and enjoying.
I am experiencing a few little issues that I am hoping will be addressed soon, though to be fair I think the problem is because of EMUI 8. Main problem is some of my widgets wont update. Oreo has some little features like app shortcuts which are cool but I wouldnt rush to upgrade.

Root on Pie?

Just wondering if Magisk supports Pie (Android 9)? Trying to decide if I should take the OTA now or wait a bit.. ?
Sure looks like it. I'll be trying it out soon.

Hey folks,
Newbie here. Would you say it's worth rooting the phone on Pie? I've had my phone for ~6 months and looking to maybe start tweaking it a bit.

As always, it depends on how you plant to take advantage of root access. I personally use root for the following reasons:
- Ad Blocking
- System wide dark theme (substratum)
- Custom squeeze actions
- Viper Audio Tweaks (xloud)
- Change emojis to look normal

Thanks mate,
I plan on doing it purely for the Ad blocking and removing the Bloatware (No thanks to Vodafone). I wish that we could also sort out the Analogue and Digital audio adapter issues. It bugs me how you have to source an actual Google adapter if you want Aux.

The best option i found is Lawnchair v2 (You can find it easily on APKMirror). To have all the animations, recent apps integration, ect, you can install the QuickSwitch Magisk Module, which sets the launcher you want as System Launcher and recents provider.
With this config, you have a Pixel-like interface, that totally overwrites what you normally have on the ROM. It will totally replace OnePlus Launcher, including the buttons, gestures, and recent apps, so you basically will have the same interface as you get on Pixel Experience.

Question Trying to make my S22 Ultra look like a Pixel 7/7 Pro

Hey all,
Background: I used to do a lot of messing with my older android phones, flashing custom recoveries, custom roms, nightly builds, etc. but it has been YEARS since I messed around.
I want to try and get back into it a bit, specifically I want to get my S22 Ultra to "look" like a Pixel 7 OS. I know I used to be able to find roms like that for future versions of android or other phones, etc. back in the day but i'm not really seeing much of that type of development now.
So my question is: what is the BEST way to make my phone feel like a Pixel? Is it to use Magisk to edit features, etc.? Are there any sorts of...presets or anything in Magisk? I've never used it. Also, on the TWRP website, they don't have recoveries for the S22u, are there any manually compiled ones?
Sorry, it has been a LONG while since I did anything like this, you can direct me to other threads if things are answered, I would appreciate it!
Thanks!

Hi! thanks for the reply! no, not quite just the icons and such, more like. the settings menu, the pulldown bar, the power options, like everything to be like the phone IS a Pixel
Why would you want to take a $1200+ top of the line smartphone and make it imitate a mediocre Google product? You could have saved a lot of money and time and just bought a Pixel 7!

the pixel 7 pro wasn't out when i got my s22u and just for the sake of trying it tbh, i like the Pixel OS
So you need to find a compatible launcher that imitates the AOSP environment. Good luck.
Lawnchair Launcher imitates the Pixel Launcher with a lot more options...
Been using it for yeeaarrssss (Since I had launch day Pixel)

Hi hex installer works fine on oneUI 5.1
And using
Hex installer (play store)
Nova launcher (play store)
Good lock (galaxy store)
Pixelful icon pack (play store)
But you will need root or use ADB via pc/laptop
If this is the look you are after

Just a friendly note/warning. If those are your actual IMEIs in your screenshots ypu may want to delete or edit that screen shot. Usually not a good idea to share your IMEI publicly.
