I noticed yesterday that I am unable to shoot video anymore. I tried all the sizes and formats available. I just can't. The video starts shooting and stops after a second. Sometimes it saves 1s clips, other times it just doesn't save anything. Same happens with Slo-mo video.
I tried some 3rd party video app - it records without issues.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Someone in one of the other threads mentioned the same problem being fixed by a factory reset.
I recently updated to software version *.120. It worked without an issue before that.
I cleared the cache partition - not helping.
I refuse to factory reset my phone, because I spent the last month and a half finely tuning it to my preference.
Applying small updates should not be cause for factory resetting your phone! This software experience is getting frustrating! Huawei's software department is just bad!
No such issue. I can record video in all formats and framerates.
I cleared the data and cache for the Camera app and it works fine now.
If anyone has this issue after an update - this is the way to go.
Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear Data and Clear Cache

I recently purchased a SM-P905V. Everything was working perfectly fine, I rooted about a week ago and everything was working well after that as well. Yesterday I went to use Slacker Radio and all music and sound function stopped working. After playing around a bit I found that after I restart the tablet, whenever I try to play music in ANY music app (streaming OR mp3) all sounds would stop functioning and even the Sounds section in settings would freeze when I went to select it. Up until that point all regular sounds (system, Youtube, most apps) work perfectly fine but then they stop as well and the system becomes incredibly unstable.
Things I've already tried:
- Uninstalling every App since rooting
- Uninstalling every other app not built in
- Clearing the cache
- Factory Reset
- Unrooting and then Factory Reset
- Factory Resetting and starting with a clean/new Google account (in case it was a setting or something that was backed up to my account)
Does anyone have any clue how else I might fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone else having this issue on YouTube, where pinch to zoom does not work anymore after Android Oreo 8.0 upgrade? I performed a factory reset, but the issue is still present after configuring the phone as brand new (no restore). Even tried deleting cache and data for that particular app, still no pinch to zoom. Tried wiping Google Play Services cache and data, same situation. Nothing that I know of, seems to have fixed this issue so far.
Any thoughts?

Same problem here too on my s8plus
A lot of features not working after oreo update don't know why
Hi guys,
I've owned a Pixel 2 since Dec/17 (bought i the UK... so no warranty in Italy), two days ago I started having some trouble when using camera: phone hangs, camera can't get focus... but in the beginning a simple reboot fixed the problem...
This is until yesterday night, when the error worsened: now each time I start Camera application it force closes, even if I launch third party camera apps they crash...
So I tried clearing cache and data for Camera app, but still no luck.
I then tried to factory reset my phone, and reflash full factory image, but I'm still getting the error... sometimes the camera works but it's a rare event.
Has anyone ever experienced this issue? Is there a reset for the camera hw?
thanks

Years ago, I had the exact same problem with my S4. After trying all of the things you have, and a few others, I used the dialer code for the hardware test menu and found that the front camera had failed. Got a new one off Amazon, installed it, and everything was back to normal. I honestly don't know what, if there even is one, the code is for the Pixel 2, but I believe there are some apps that will do the same thing.
camera was broken... tried times and time to reset recovery and so on...
but the solution was to ask Google support, they replaced my Pixel 2 with a brand new one (full sealed box)
i was used to Samsung and tought it would be impossible...
Point for Google.
Went to a gig last night, tried to record some of the songs, got back today and none of them have any sound at all on the videos, anyone have any ideas why this could be
Did you play the videos on the phone or on a PC ?
I sometimes get a very low sound level on the PC while the sound is normal on the phone, depending on the phone used to capture the video and the software to play it back.
There have been a couple of reports of the same problem on a German Android forum. They said the for the last few weeks theyve been having trouble with recordings of all sorts, while speaking on the phone still works. After a restart it's all back to normal for some time but then the problem returns at some point. Sounds to me as if either an app or system update contains a bug of some sort...
have the same problem for about 3 weeks.
even with the C72 now no improvement.
very annoying the whole
In there forum I mentioned someone said according to Oppo Google Assistant is the culprit, it somehow blocks the microphone which is also why the OK Google command still works while sound recording does not. Try deleting the Google App's data and cache and then it should be gone. Should it be back after a while then the app will probably have to be fixed by Google, only way around this in this case probably is deactivating the assistant until the issue's been fixed.
TL;DR: Audio/video freeze on my phone even after factory reset. Flashing new ROM solves the issue except when I start certain apps which causes it to reoccur until I restart the phone.
I have a Poco X3 NFC and shortly after requesting to unlock bootloader I stared having a bug where whenever I played media (spotify, youtube, netflix, etc), the audio and video would stop/stutter every few seconds. The issue occurred both on speakers and bluetooth. After trying unsuccessfully to solve the issue I factory reset the phone and thought that would be it. However even after a factory reset I was still unable to play videos or music. I then tried the next best thing. I flashed the stock fastboot ROM from my computer using the Mi Flash Tool but the issue still continued.
Thinking it could be a problem with MIUI itself I then flashed TWRP and installed ArrowOS with the Optimus Drunk Kernel which greatly helped performance and battery life. For a little while the issue seemed gone but after opening facebook messenger I started having the same issue. A bit of experimenting revealed that some messaging apps like facebook messenger and the dialer caused the issue to reoccur until I restarted the phone and it worked again.
My only theory is that somehow a low level program like the bootloader somehow got corrupted and causes this issue when my messaging apps are running something in the background (although the issue continues after force stopping those apps). Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue or ideas how I can fix it?
