I know that's cheap. But I would still rather buy a quality 5000mah one for 10x the price.

aestetically speaking, they all looks horrible as a battery solution
i much prefer taking off the back cover to swap in another pack of 1500 than hooking up one of those listed above
it's not simply the looks, it also affects usability.
you can't go about your business with are battery pack hanging around in a wire

Well, with an external charger you can just connect it while not using the phone, and have it top up the battery. I don't see any aesthetic issues doing it that way. It's a great deal easier than opening up the phone and replace the battery. The ultimate would be charger/battery case for i9000 that allows charging from mains, charging to to mini-usb, and use standard i9000 batteries.

I bought one, and it doesnt seem to work at all. Phone changes to 'Charging (AC)' and then immediately flips to 'Not Charging' when you look in battery status.

You have to get the "Charging" Micro-USB cable. The one that comes with the phone is a data + charging.
Mine works fine with the samsung eneloop 5000mah.

1) why not post in the original topic
2) You don't need RTCK see image on the right The lower right of the 6 pins is RTCK you see the copper since nothing is attached.
Any other questions please use the original thread as we are all subscribed to that one.
please help me
i solder all pins without RTCK
problem shown in the picture
tnx
Hi toyoki,
i am not familiar with JTAG Manager for RIFF Box... but i guess it is easy to solve.
Check the setting that i marked in the pic. There must be some other options.
You should use a fixed value for TCK.
Without RTCK attached you should also slow down the clock.
Please use the forum thread ezterry pointed at, to discuss further questions.
You might also ask the guys building RIFF Box for help.
Give 'em some nice greets from XDA-developers!
Cheers,
scholbert
How about do something like this:

Ok, this is very nice.
I think if this construction works on Galaxy S then its able to make Fotos in the Dark.
I think i would test it an report.
greetings Dimes
I think that a plug with the shape of an inverted L would fit nice.
Like this crappy paint picture.
Remember that link is for mini usb, galaxys s has micro usb.
If anyone manage to turn on/off by software using USB host mode, then you can modified adroid camera AOSP for take photos with flash
good idea this great

Wow that is very nice! I'm wondering where he managed to fit the LED's in the backplate, if they stick out at all. Wish he was a member of XDA

wow!Tutorial?!?!
Here is an english translation of the German instructions under the video.
Hope my english is good enought for you to understand.
Its all he wrote, i cant explain it, i just translated it for you.
Edit:
The cost of the flashlight are at ~12€.
There was no tutorial, i had to plan and calculate all by myself.
Expenditure of time: About 2-3 hours of planning and 2 hours 14 min to attach it.
Preamble: Such a big change can destroy your phone and expires your warranty.
Here a few tips, its a bit complicated.
1) At first you have to search for space to place the LED (FLAT-LED 3W ca.8X8mm) and the cooling (self-adhesive aluminum foil) with 0.2mm two-cut and at least a face of 6-8cm². (Dont forget the heat transfer paste ) but be carefull not to glue it over the external antenna or lay any wires next to it. You should also pay attention, that the shine doesnt get into the lense of the camera, because the pictures would be foggy.
2) The LED must be adjusted to the electric tension of the battery
(in the best case led tension= battery tension+0,1-0,2V).
For example: battery 3,6V LED 3,6-3,8V
In 90% of the cases you wont need a multiplier (series resistor) which also should be cooled and have enought space (Low ohm resistors wont need a cooling)
3) Search for some space for the button where you can easy press it if you make photos.
(He used a „subminiature-smd switch“ , you can see the button in the video)
4) The LED shouldnt activate itself if it lays on the back for example,
because it will overheat your device in a short time.
5) Never look into the LED from a short distance, because it can damage your eyesight
6) Dont use the LED when you are charging your battery, because the charge-processor will calculate wrong or your battery will get damaged.
I think i wrote all the neccesay things, geethings from FREAKYWOLFY VMW

I got a photon q lte and the battery died.
There isn't much info online how to troubleshoot an issue for this.
I bought it from a friend about 9 months ago and I don't use sprint phone as my provider.
I don't want to buy a new phone, I am willing however to purchase a new battery, or other basic hardware to resolve the issue.
Any advice xda folks? Hope it's some informative responses. I'm not knew to the site but I never usually need to post for this kind of mysterious issue.
Thanks
