Problem with battery 1800 mAh

Hello,
I ve juste bought a nw battery on Qtek website :

It s impossible to make this battery working.
The WM6 tells me Main battery : unknown
And it can t be fillled.
Even on sector the phone is turning of!!!
I ve heard about a file batdrv.dll.
do you know if a new file could help me.
The only way I ve found to make the battery working is turning on in bootloader mode....

I'd send it back and request a new one or a refund (see below).
Is it an official HTC part? That battery looks exactly like the one I bought from ebay for EUR15 (great deal, even included shipping from HK). It works fine (electronically), BUT with some major issues:
1) The camera opening is open (lens unprotected & dust will get in, I pasted in a bit of transparent plastic but that obviously does not help photo quality)
2) The camera snapshots now have a shadow at the side because the lens opening is too close to the thicker part where the battery is located
Effectively this makes the camera unusable. Not that quality is any good with the original HTC cover, but still...
I was wondering if you had the same problems?

It seems that Qtek.fr are just fakes !
So it mustn't be an offical part of HTC....
And their customer relationship is just horrible!
I have the same problem than you. The cover doesnt stick the lens...but i couldn t try photogrpahs...you kniw why...

1) Looks like it, especially for that price!
2) It worked fine as it came in (was 50% charged). The only difference is that my 1800 battery is black.
I am not using it any more because of the reasons mentioned before, and the fact that the shape is not convenient any more. I am considering getting a 1100mAh battery (same size) and just live with the short battery life (maybe 3 full days of light use with 1100), or wait for a better one. I heard mugen are coming out with a 2000 and 3000mAh models. If

Could you tell me some online shops where I can buy a working battery? On HTC website the battery is only in pre-orderind and not available at the moment.

Plenty of shops, but stick to the 900 or 1340 mAh original. I received mine and no problem.

I have a problem "simillar" working with the Adapt Battery pack for HTC Diamond(1800 mAh) (http://www.adapt-mobile.com.tw/mobile/detail.php?p_id=420).
For WM6 this battery is unknown ... and it is not possible to know if it is charging or not.
The phone is OK but the GPS doesn't work properly ... as previously happened with the Clove one

I Bought this one:

@nokistein: you said the GPS is working- did you see any delay thats longer for getting the sattelites? or is the signal strength lower?
do you used it with tomtom?
how long does the Battery last in addition to the stock one?

With my EUR15 1800mAh extended battery from HK I get 5.5h with GPS + screen on (with the original I got 2h max with TT6). That is Sygic MCGuider, diamond laying near a window on a tabel so not actually navigating in a car. I had no problems with GPS reception at all.
As mentioned before my only problem is with the camera because it does not have a protective cam cover (dust gets in), and I get a "shadow" in all images because the bulky extension is slightly in the lightpath of the camera lens.

Well, near 16 hours using only phone and wifi. No calls, no nothing, only phone on every hour.
I have put a piece of a sheet of acetate as cam cover, but I also get the shadow effect JeeHaa said before.
13 € was the price of mine.

[Q] Cordless Charging Pad

Anyone here use one of those cordless charging pads where you can simply place your phone on the pad for a charge? I am looking into purchasing one and would like to hear about anyone's experience with them.

So far as I know, no one makes one that is specifically compatible with the HTC G2/Desire-Z...
You can still use most of them, but they will require to device to be plugged into the G2/Desire-Z and then for that to be placed onto the charging pad, which kind of defeats the purpose of "wireless charging"

Oh i didnt even know they were made for specific phones, that sucks. Well, thanks for the heads-up.

Ok well let me re-phrase that... The charging pads or mats are not made for specific phones. But the accessories you must buy to make them charge wireless are. For example, to wireless charge a Droid X on the PowerMat, you have to purchase a special battery cover/door for the Droid X. For the true "no wires" effect on any of the wireless charging mats out there, it requires buying a special battery and/or battery cover, if they make one for your device. No one has made one for the HTC Desire-Z/G2 yet that I'm aware of.

I have one(Power Mat), use it for my HD2. Works very well. Seems to help with battery life, as it seems to charge better a little bit slower. takes about 45 minutes longer the charge my hd2, but lasts hours longer since i got it. Still waiting for a powermat battery cover for my g2, but havent seen one yet. Got mine at walmart for 80 bucks, i think it was well worth it. very easy to charge, dont have to worry about plugging it in all the time, as you just set it down, and it charges.

Does anyone know if the HD2 battery could fit inside the G2...if that's the case, you could mod it to fit. Like the Evo battery for the G2

no, its different. Besides, its isnt the battery that make the powermat work. Its an aftermarket battery cover. You still use your stock battery. The battery cover could not be modded to fit either, as it is completely different in size.

Ah that sucks...thanks...was hoping it was an all in one cover battery.

When they have the ability to use EMF to wirelessly charge your phone,
All you'll need to do is be within the vicinity of the charger.
That's wireless.

It works pretty good for me. I only used only once when i was on car trip. The downside is just that it makes the big phone twice as big!

I believe there's a cable-end sticking out similar to your USB-charger that goes into your phone. Then you click the button on the back of the case and it will start drain power from the battery that is inside the case!
Correct me if im wrong.

The case is a battery itself. It has a usb that connects to the DHD and there is a button on the side that you press to charge the device.

Mugen does make decent batteries usually. I don't own their Samsung Nexus S battery, but I use/used them on all my Blackberries. The one for NxS is ~30€.
Or you go ahead and buy an original Samsung batt, it's like 20€.

There's a Samsung batt just for the i9023. Its product number is printed on your current battery or on the Samsung webside. It should be "AB653850CU" (msrp 29,99€).

At least you are getting A) OEM brand accessory, so no invalidation of warranty or risk of damage to your device, and B) it comes with a little charging station, that can also double as a kick stand for your device.

wow...very beuty...but is too much expensive for me...

Side effects from installing slim to my SGS4G

I installed the slim common and Slim galaxy s 4g custom rom for my SGS4G phone. I was awesome. Great features like screenshot and fast charge. However I noticed side effects similar what everyone else has noticed like the battery drain problem. I was wondering though. Has anyone been having battery issues in general like battery saying its completely charged but it wasnt and then the phone cutting off on you randomly or the phone giving false readings of the battery saying its 84% then 60% the 94%.? I thought maybe it was my phone so I brought the same exact phone and the same problems occurred. Just curious. Are there any tweaks for these problems? I have Samsung galxaxy s 4g and I installed the slim custom rom by team kick ass. Awesome rom BTW good job guys

Those are signs that your battery is going bad. You bought another phone to test?? Did you buy another battery?

Yes I bought another phone brand new not refurbished and I'm going to buy another one tonight. I was just wondering if I flashed this new one will I have the same side effects.

Everything should be normal. I good trick to clear the phone before you put a new battery in is to hold the power button for 20 seconds or so without the battery in the phone. Then pop in the new battery and FULLY charge it with the phone still off. Turn on your phone and enjoy your new battery.

Also I wanted to know is their anyway to keep some of the old features from the galaxy s 4g like the camera. Its amazing but the ics camera app is horrible..

How is the ICS camera horrible? I find it faster and more options.
