Hi
Facing the issue of being unable to remove the activation lock on my iPhone - I'm of course using the same samsung account as the one I used for activating the lock.
I receive a message prompting to use the same samsung account as the one used for locking the S3...
Tried to connect it to my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, but I have the same results...
I'm stuck!
Any idea of anything I should try out before I send the device for servicing?
Thanks!
Rodolphe
self-replying...
I returned the device for servicing.
Samsung charges approx. 70 USD for "attempting" to reset the watch, without any guarantees it will work!!!
I find it a bit harsh - is this common practice?
Rod
Ouch! That's crazy expensive without any surety.

Have you tried doing a hardware factory reset (hold down the power key then repeatedly tap it) on the watch?

Reactivation lock survives from resetting the watch. Even if you -by reflashing- make the watch forget about the lock, the second you try to pair it, gear manager will check watch’s serial number online and if it is reactivation locked by some other samsung account it wont let you pair with it.
Correct - tried all these options. The lock survives.
I don't how it got screwed up: I always used the same Samsung account, whether on the S7 or the iPhone.
I did lock and unlock it successfully on the S7.
I could lock it on the iPhone, but the unlock failed eventually.
And now I'm left with an unusable device.
Hopefully Samsung can unlock it.
Can't really tell if the iPhone version of Gear S is at fault or anything else happened in the background.
OK. Did you try logging into your Samsung account from a computer, erasing the device and removing it from your account? Basically the steps you would go through if you were going to sell the device.
I am Also Facing Same..
I Too received the same message and same problem. i am stucked. fcked ..
the same samsung id is used now it says enter the id used to lock gear previously.
but the both id used is same. then also it is not unlocking.

Unlock without activation code on iPhone
I am too having the same problem and have tried since January April to get it resolved and no one knows how and I'm also out $399 for a watch that doesn't work and was promised to work with iPhones. Wtf and I can't do anything about it
Does anyone know what to do?
I've contacted T-Mobile, Samsung customer service via phone and email, and bust-buy and even a Samsung help center. But no one know how to unlock it
Same with me! No iPhone involved, hehe.
I'm from Brazil and bought a pre owned Galaxy Gear S3 in a Game Stop store January this year. I locked my Gear with my Samsung account in a Galaxy Note 8 and it worked fine for 3 months. After a restore to restabilish a freeze, I couldn't unlock it. I tried Game Stop, Samsung and TMobile support, no success. Reflash and factory default didn't help.
Samsung support in Brazil don't support a imported device, so I just have a little brick... Send this device to USA is too expensive. Knowing that Samsung will charge 70 dollars for a try is tragic.
If someone knows a way, please share!
Obs: in my anguish I found a site that promises a unlock. Is there any base for their method? Or this is just a scam?

same prob - but with note 4 - says the samsung account doesn't match. don't know why this happened but it no longer recognizes my samsung account. still connected to my wifi at home. can someone suggest a service that can remove the frp from the watch?
I'm having an issue with my GPS, if I use the Google support and they send me out a phone will it be the verizon version again?
I'm having the same issue with my phone, maps works fine, but I can't get a satellite lock for latitude and longitude. I've been on chat with Google several times this week, trying factory resets etc. Nothing has fixed the problem, so I got an RMA authorization yesterday from them. I bought my phone at Verizon because they were in stock. I was told that I would be getting a Google Play model refurbished phone back, and not a Verizon model when I specifically asked that question. I also was assured that the bootloader would be able to be unlocked when I asked that question also. We'll see what happens, when I get the phone. The only downside is, since I'm going through Google and not Verizon for a replacement, it would be 7 - 10 working days to get a phone back from them. There is no option for cross shipping, sending a device with a credit hold etc. since I didn't buy it from Google.
I have contacted Google and they refuse to help me with my deceased husband's LG G4. I do not care about his gmail account other than getting into the phone so I can use it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, but I need to use this phone. I did factory reset and it will NOT let me get passed the damn page with the email and password. PLEASE help me.......
I recently purchased an ATT gear s3 used. I am unable to get it activated due to the eSIM having been activated on another account. Is there any way to clear out the eSIM? All the Samsung docs say it is possible, but I can't seem to find any of the options to clear it. ATT claims I have to mail this to Samsung and have a new motherboard installed. This doesn't seem right. Does anybody know of a way to clear this? I also reached out to seller on eBay to see if they know of anything. I have gotten a lot of lies from ATT so I have a feeling this is possible and the rep on the phone was wrong saying that these can only ever be activated once.
Article I found showing how it should work, but I can't find any of these options

Old owner must "release" his account first in order for you to get it working thru the NumberSync app.

Correct. You and the previous owner must conference into AT&T so they can I completely release the number from his account, no balance can be left. Then they can connect the eSIM's ICCID number to your account and activate it..that is the only way I have seen it work to date. Check the AT&T forums as many people are upset about how much trouble this is..

Hey guys, 100% honest I bought an S8 yesterday at a yard sale, for $5!! (US, Sprint, SM-G95OU). I thought holy crap that guy had no idea what he was selling! Got into recovery mode, factory reset, however when booting back into the OS I'm running into the problem where it still needs the original owners Google account to continue. I swear to God I purchased this phone at a yard sale it is not stolen, can you guys help me surpass this issue? I've never had a Samsung device before and as I understand the procedures are different in terms of working with the bootloader and whatnot, I've heard of Odin but I'm not sure if it can help in the situation. I'll worry about carrier unlocking later, I just kind of want to be able to use it as a computer, not a cellphone. However I cannot get into the launcher until inputting a Google account, any help?
