Hi!
I just got my mi5s+ which I love.
But I have a strange issue, whether I'm running a stock MIUI ROM or a AOSP/LOS ROM (Oreo):
When I'm playing any audio, I have some weird stutters/crackling randomly.
It happens both on speaker and bluetooth headphones. It happens on Apple Music/Spotify/Local media. Sometimes it even happens with notifications.
I noticed that it gets worse when I'm downloading a file in my phone or when I'm running a heavy/poorly optimized app like snapchat. I was thinking it maybe it was a bad
I haven't installed any audio mod. Tried various firmware. Kernel settings are on stock. I've tried factory reset, wiping cache
Do you have the same issue? Is there any fix? When I've done some researches I've noticed it's a common problem on xiaomi devices and I haven't found any good fix...
It's such a shame a device that powerful can't play audio properly...
I've personally only had audio stuttering if I have too much running at once. but at that point, the whole phone feels clunky.
and when I say too much, I mean to the point where the phone is hardly usable - everything is delayed.
I also mostly use google play OR the built in MIUI music app. I do have Viper4Android installed, so it could be cleaning up the crackling.

none of the applications on my GS3 have sound, including youtube, tube mate, navigation, media player or anything. but when i put a call on loud speaker, it works. so i know that there is nothing physically wrong with the phone.
just now i completely whipped the device and installed the latest official CM10 build in hope that it would fix the issue, but it didn't.
I have a Galaxy S3 i747 running AOKP 4.2.2. I've tried Google Play Music, Omich Player, Android Music Player, and PowerAmp. Whenever I do anything on my phone while listening to music, it skips for a second or two. By this I mean locking or unlocking it, opening an app, and sometimes doing something within an app. Its really obnoxious and is seriously ruining my enjoyment of this phone. My ROM has an overclock function, so I tried forcing the processor to go to 1.6gHz at all times, but that didn't fix it. It also has an SD card read ahead function, but even setting that as high as 4000kb had no effect. This happens whether there's zero or a dozen apps in the background. Sometimes clearing the apps cache and force closing it followed by restarting the phone helps. Also, sometimes switching to another music player whip fix it for a while before that one starts skipping too.
Is there any solution to this? I've seen other people with this problem but they either never resolve it or the solution that works for them doesn't work for me.

If you have AntiVirus on your mobile phone. Possible that some programs are not compatible

Nope, no antivirus
I know this sounds crazy but try using headphones with a built-in microphone. I'm almost positive that is how I fixed this issue on an older phone that had the same issue.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I have installed aosp geeb 4.4.4 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-att/development/rom-aosp-4-4-4-r2-geeb-t2852757 and like the ROM very much but it has some major glitch I would like to get rid of.
When I use Skype it occasionally almost mutes all the sounds on the device. Only removing Skype from memory helps to hear calls and listen to sound in music and videos. I'm a heavy skype user so I cannot cope with it. Is there a way to avoid it'?
With best wishes,
Konstantin
I also have problem when device reboots occasionally for no obvious reason (maybe connected with camera usage by other apps).
Hello guys.
My device is Nexus 6.
After a while when i had random reboots here and there, i decided to clean install the rom again, so i formated my sd card.
Later on i did the simple steps of installation, rom, gapps, root, kernel etc..
So everything is great right.. Yeah well after getting my google account's apps back from the cloud and some minor usage, i realized i have no calling audio whatsoever, even if i press speaker or use earpads, only sound i hear is the disconnecting beep when i press to disconnect.
Another weird thing, others can't hear me either.
So what i did is simply trying to clean install other ROMs with the same result..
As of now after like a full day of installing and clean flashing, i am on Ressurection Remix ROM, with ElementalX kernel, ive also tried an older version of the kernel.
At first i have installed all Gapps, then kernel, and then checked, it was all fine. (could call no problem, no sound issues)
I have installed DivineBeats, listened to some music with viper4android + Dolby+ all great..
So i had to make a call, and realized it does this thing again, no sound at all on calls unless i hang up and hear only the short hangup beep.
tried ofc rebooting and clearing cache/dalvik cache with no luck, i also realized i have NO SOUND at all throught speakers, wether its media, typing or anything, with earpads however i do hear media sounds just fine.
Please, i don't know what to do.. a phone without a calling option or sounds.. is just unusable..
Thanks ahead ://
Little update, flashed FrancoKernel r73 (latest).
I do have media and typing sounds..
NO phone calls audio whatsoever, doesn't matter if i use earpads, earspeaker or speakers, can't hear anything but the disconnecting beep.
Tried disabling apps, tried Safe Mode..
Still no audio when dialing...
What could possibly cause ONLY the dial to lose functionality?
Well I just upgraded to new Oreo and guess what? I can't use my Bluetooth headset anymore (Blue Tiger Elite). The audio gets distorted or breaking up. Failing to connect or disconnect to/from the phone. Was working fine before update. Tinkering Bluetooth settings in developer mode didn't help since they will stay unchanged after you open the menu again.
Have anyone encountered same problem?
When im paired up with the stereo in my work truck i noticed a pop every now and then.

Audio streaming on Nougat for me was perfect all the time, now since my Oreo update I've experienced constant stuttering and/or growly distortion for a moment at least every ten seconds. Also 'Settings' keeps closing whenever I'm accessing any of my apps when changing permissions for example. It couldn't even pull up my app list, so I've done a backup and deleted at least 300 of my apps, and only now things are slightly better. I don't understand why everything is lagging so much now when before the update, all was perfect.. Help?

Try factory reset, it worked for me. Good luck!
Yes, I'm having the same issue with bluetooth connection and the same Blue Tiger Elite. Just got off the phone with Verizon tech person he is thinking my headset is old enough technology that it won't stay connected.
