Is anyone else experiencing sound problems with android on Polaris (touch cruise)? The sound dissapears after random X minutes/hours.
I have tried a dozens of nands and android packages all with the same results - the sound stops working after a while. No ringtone, no other sound at all. If I call someone they can't hear me.
I would really really appreciate if someone could give me a solution to this problem.
In the beginning a did something to get SPL-2.20.OliNex (CPLD-2)
Then I have tried installing different typpes of ROM's (guess this is the nands) and also tried different combinations with andoid releases. I even found a great thread in this forum where working nands and andoid releases where listed...GREAT I was thinking.....finally! But again, the same thing....no sound after a while :-(
sound works but wifi
Hi,
are you talking about sound issue with telephony/voip? I installed latest release on my htc polaris touch cruise (100 series) and first calls sound is working so far. I am using this one:
* l1q1d - [NAND] - My latest nbh - Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 [Deodexed] [RLS10] [7/10/10] Work All
via haret.exe from "Working android setups" thread.
Only issue is wifi, for what i've tested by now, so i need to investigate further.
Hi,
Thanks for your answer. I'm not running any voip, telephony thou. All sound is stopping. Ringsignal, other sounds and,telephone-voice and also my microphone.
I've search the forum for days now and no one seems to have the same issue as me.
I guess there is no soultion. :-(
Hi,
i had no problems with nand and phone sound and the mentioned image:

Perhaps you need an upgrade of your devices firmware.
Sound with voip still stucks for me but IMO this is related to an issue with performance:

Hi today I tried with this configuration and also have sound issues with pol100. They come out when playing with sipdroid. No sound in sipdroid tested with sipgate.de (german provider).
Btw. the first call with gsm when phone is freshly rebooted has sound.
sys/data on nand:
- polaimg-panel3-320-froyo-26-07-10-tweaked-to-panel1
- zImage-26-07-10
- RLS12
- radio 1.65.38.14
No mic/speaker sound :-(
When sipdroid call is dropped and gsm phone is called the gsm phone application crashes.
Here's related thread to problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729472
Sound playback issue: random choppy audio
I have tested it intensively and all I have to say is that sometimes the music playback is choppy (it sounds like distorted and echoed badly). I noticed that it's only the "multimedia playback", not the standard sound stream (the Phone volume is involved in this one).
When this happens, you should stop the music/sound playback, wait for some seconds and resume. If you waited enough, it will play smooth after this.
I have observed this behavior in the Music player and in game emulators. When it happens in emulators, it's difficult to "fix" it, since they don't have a button to just stop the audio streaming. I have to close the emulator and try again. Luckily it is fixed after some tries.
I hope an expert developer (say DZO) could fix this.
Merged topic, the same question and / or problem
Hi, I tried some Android ROMs in my HTC Cruise - Polaris (Pola100) and still the same problem. No sound - when playing music, when incoming call ring, when speaking, other side cannot hear anything, I cannot hear other side etc. Only one exception i noticed is with "Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2.1 [Deodexed] [RLS16] [10/2/10] All Languages", after reboot and Launcher Pro used, little while sound works, but after few seconds - silence again
Did anybody solved this problem, or have any idea?
Thanks for Your replies.
PS: Camera doesn't work too, even if everybody is saying, that with "this one" ROM it works. But this is no problem for me, I don't need camera necessarily.
RE: Speakers not working
Hello, my 1+ was working fine yesterday. I charged up my home to 100% when sleeping, when I woke to watch a XDA video on Youtube. There were no sounds coming from the speakers.
I called my phone, the ringer didn't sound off but I was able to hear what the other end of saying. I put on headphones and it worked.
I tried resetting Synapse, rebooting, power off. I made sure the volumes were on. Nothing worked.
Yesterday I installed Facebook app and Messenger, before I slept.
Update:
Oh it works now.
I used Clean master app. And rebooted phone.
I would like to know if that didn't work, what would be an appropriate step to take?
Thank you in advance.
It didn't work again after I went back and changed the Synapse settimgs. These settings has always worked before. I don't know why it doesn't now. I tried the method above and it doesn't work still.
Update:
I cleared the Synapse data and rebooted. It works now.
This step didn't work before as mentioned above, but it worked now.
How come?
Dont use the Sound Control Lock in sound section....i was having same problem and took that setting back off
Speaker not working
hi everyone,
I appear to have the same problem. My speakers aren't working but my earphones and bluetooth speakers are.
the comments above didn't fix anything.
any ideas?
I have the same issue. No external speaker sound. Playing youtube or video clips. just wondering if other people has resolve this? thx
I appear to have the same issue. It appears the phone 'thinks' my earbuds are plugged in while they're not. That results in the speaker not working when I tried to play sound over the speakers and the earpiece not working when I try to call people. I have to put the phone manually on speaker while calling or use earbuds. I am not sure, but I think the problem might be related to the google play app. Rebooting does not work, neither the new version of google play that got isssued today solves the problem.
I could probably try installing soundabout or such app, but that's a bandaid and not a real solution, so I wait for now for a real solution.
edit: Installing Soundabout does not make a difference.

i've got the similar issue.
i suspect the MiKey for the culprit or after flashing oxygen modem
Same trouble here..
Hi! I have the same trouble since yesterday, I have tried wiping all, reset as factory settings, changing roms (from cm12 nightlies to colorOs), reinstalling audio fx and trying with viper4android.. I Don't Know what else to try.. Did you find a solution?? Thanks!
speaker issue solved
I had the same issue. The speaker didn't respond except for alarms & ringtones.
There is an issue with the 3.5mm jack.
Try the putting headfone in & out couple of times.
The speaker will turn on.

Thanks this worked for me
Yeah, I'm having these issues as well. I moved my motherboard to another OPO and it seems like the speaker I/O just doesn't work anymore. I can try these solutions, but I'm pretty sure that wiping the entire system and installing different firmwares (ROMs) would fix the issue. I'm quite vexed, to be honest.
My right speaker stopped working after taking my phone from the service center. I gave my phone to change display! My phone speaker is just dead
Speakers mic not working OnePlus X
Hii guys,
I have a sudden peculiar problem.
The left speaker as well as the mic and earpiece speaker are not working.
When I make or receive a call, the dialer crashes.*A terrible state when the phone problem affects basic functions like making calls (basic purpose of a mobile phone).
I have tried factory reset as well, But no magic!
Any immediate help is more than appreciated!!
Thanks
I had the same problem: media audio (youtube/facebook-videos etc.) was not playing through the speaker, but when I plugged headphones in the sound worked perfectly. Notification sounds were playing normally even through the speaker.
I contacted OnePlus live online support and they suggested me to download the "Clean Master" app. I downloaded it, cleaned my phone using it, rebooted, and after that my speaker was working fine!
Maybe you could try this if you have a similar problem.

Well, I can see why you think I'm kidding because I myself didn't want to trust the OnePlus clerk but I'm not kidding at all.
I was amazed too, it actually worked that way: I installed the program, cleaned, rebooted and the speaker was working again.
So maybe it was a software issue after all.
At least people can try this solution because it is so much simpler than rooting your phone / installing Bootloader etc.
Clean Master Works for Me

Surprising this works for me after multiple reboots and cache cleaning from recovery mode.
More specific information on how I go about with cache cleaning:
In Clean Master:
1. Clean junk files. Grant permission for cleaning more junk files when asked.
2. Continue to "Advanced Cleaning" and remove Phone Junk.
Optional (Found this works when camera or Media-related apps began FC-ing, along with speaker not working):
In ES File Explorer:
1. Go to APP
2. Switch from "User Apps" to "System Apps"
3. Long press on "Media Storage", choose "Properties", choose "Storage", then choose "CLEAR DATA" and "CLEAR CACHE". (System-based phone ringtones and message ringtones will not work for a while until the phone automatically regenerates this info, you don't have to do anything, just wait for the phone to do it's job).
Reboot
1. Reboot and select reboot into recovery.
2. Select "Advanced Wipe", then select "Wipe Cache".
3. Reboot System.
Repeat the above 2-3 times if the first attempt doesn't fix the issue. Usually more phone junk is discovered after second reboot.
Hope this helps!
Hello guys.
My device is Nexus 6.
After a while when i had random reboots here and there, i decided to clean install the rom again, so i formated my sd card.
Later on i did the simple steps of installation, rom, gapps, root, kernel etc..
So everything is great right.. Yeah well after getting my google account's apps back from the cloud and some minor usage, i realized i have no calling audio whatsoever, even if i press speaker or use earpads, only sound i hear is the disconnecting beep when i press to disconnect.
Another weird thing, others can't hear me either.
So what i did is simply trying to clean install other ROMs with the same result..
As of now after like a full day of installing and clean flashing, i am on Ressurection Remix ROM, with ElementalX kernel, ive also tried an older version of the kernel.
At first i have installed all Gapps, then kernel, and then checked, it was all fine. (could call no problem, no sound issues)
I have installed DivineBeats, listened to some music with viper4android + Dolby+ all great..
So i had to make a call, and realized it does this thing again, no sound at all on calls unless i hang up and hear only the short hangup beep.
tried ofc rebooting and clearing cache/dalvik cache with no luck, i also realized i have NO SOUND at all throught speakers, wether its media, typing or anything, with earpads however i do hear media sounds just fine.
Please, i don't know what to do.. a phone without a calling option or sounds.. is just unusable..
Thanks ahead ://
Little update, flashed FrancoKernel r73 (latest).
I do have media and typing sounds..
NO phone calls audio whatsoever, doesn't matter if i use earpads, earspeaker or speakers, can't hear anything but the disconnecting beep.
Tried disabling apps, tried Safe Mode..
Still no audio when dialing...
What could possibly cause ONLY the dial to lose functionality?
Hi!
I just got my mi5s+ which I love.
But I have a strange issue, whether I'm running a stock MIUI ROM or a AOSP/LOS ROM (Oreo):
When I'm playing any audio, I have some weird stutters/crackling randomly.
It happens both on speaker and bluetooth headphones. It happens on Apple Music/Spotify/Local media. Sometimes it even happens with notifications.
I noticed that it gets worse when I'm downloading a file in my phone or when I'm running a heavy/poorly optimized app like snapchat. I was thinking it maybe it was a bad
I haven't installed any audio mod. Tried various firmware. Kernel settings are on stock. I've tried factory reset, wiping cache
Do you have the same issue? Is there any fix? When I've done some researches I've noticed it's a common problem on xiaomi devices and I haven't found any good fix...
It's such a shame a device that powerful can't play audio properly...
I've personally only had audio stuttering if I have too much running at once. but at that point, the whole phone feels clunky.
and when I say too much, I mean to the point where the phone is hardly usable - everything is delayed.
I also mostly use google play OR the built in MIUI music app. I do have Viper4Android installed, so it could be cleaning up the crackling.
Hello,
I just took my first video using the phone today, then I noticed audio is not recorded. I tried several times, both high-res and 3D audio, but there was no audio. Checked both on my phone and my laptop. I even installed Google Camera app, but the video from there still didn't have audio.
Then I used Voice Recorder app to record audio, and interestingly it did not record audio either. 3rd party voice recorder app didn't record audio either!
There is no problem when I call, my voice is heard clearly from the other phone. I checked the permissions of the camera apps / recorder apps, and microphone is ticked.
What could be the problem? This is very frustrating. Please help!
EDIT:
I just installed a 3rd party camera app, took a video, and the app gave a video with audio. Then I tried stock camera app, which also gave audio. Then voice recorder app, which also gave audio. It seems to work now. I didn't do anything special, didn't reboot the phone, etc. I have no idea what happened...
It is quite possible that one of the apps didn't release the connection to the microphone "for whatever reason". If you encounter problems with hardware the first option is reboot. The reason for this is all of the external and internal connections to hardware get reset. Most apps rely on the drivers within the os and sometimes those connections don't get closed because of crap coding or bugs in the os itself.
Most phones will have a hidden self test menu. It is worth a Google to find that code and test the hardware when things go a bit wierd.
Hope that helps.

Now that I thought about it again, I think you are right. One of my apps might have been in love with the microphone so that it did not allow other apps to use the mic. I have no idea which app had that kind of love, but anyway, yeah thank you for the comment!
