That thread is different, i posted one that shows it is released in Australia and New Zealand & it that contains discussion about screenshot, maybe this one will be right, who knows

Always post the original news story, not the reprinted ones, look at the links embedded in their "story":
https://ausdroid.net/2018/02/05/motorola-rolling-oreo-large-number-phones-today/
Article is from February 05 that the other outlets "recycled". Same one that was discussed here previously.
Also the statement from Moto/Lenovo is for mainly the Moto X4 and has a double * on the list next to G4 Plus. That says:
"**In addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading moto g4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit into our schedule, we’ll update our software upgrade page when we have more info."
So... nothing new. It's not now, it "will take some time".

In AICP changelog for April 1st they mention Android O blobs (Nikit), I wonder where they come from ...
or maybe that's a mis-interpretation ...
(or maybe an April 1st fool's joke )

Froyo 2.2 avaible on Website Soon?

I happen to go through my google reader this morning and found an interesting article on Softpedia about Android 2.2 coming to Galaxy S in more markets. It is a very interesting read. Has anyone heard anymore info about this topic? The update will supposedly be available on the samsung website.
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Android-2-2-Froyo-on-Galaxy-S-in-More-Markets-166602.shtml
Here is the original post about the froyo update
http://www.tgdaily.com/mobility-brief/52521-samsung-galaxy-s-finally-gets-its-turn-with-android-22
I guess this topic is already being talked about in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840573
This update is not for the US market but for everyone else. I found this comment on the Galaxy S twitter page:
@imms0fat Hi Rich. Thx for that article. It refers to non-US phones. Samsung USA and TMO should release 2.2 by the end of the year.
So us US folks are left in the cold til years end

[PETITION] Calling all Moto owners

Please sign our petition requesting Moto to provide the Android N update to the Moto G 2015 and Moto G Turbo.
https://www.change.org/p/motorola-please-include-moto-g-3rd-gen-for-android-nougat-update
You may be wondering why I am asking other Moto owners to support the G3 and Turbo by signing our petition... We are asking Moto to simply do what they said when they released the device, by providing fast updates for 18 months and not drop support for this clearly capable device. This could easily effect all of you in the future just like Moto is trying to do to these devices if we don't call Lenovo/Moto on their clear violation of what they stated previously as if they get away with this, what is to stop them from providing updates for any other device in a far shorter time span than promised.
Part of the beauty of Moto devices was the promise of a near stock Android experience with fast updates for an 18 month period, this is one of the reasons many of us purchased these devices over other choices that were available, we should hold Moto to what they sold us on and letting them get away with not doing that now will likely mean other devices will be dropped before their time in the future.
As of this posting, we have over 680 supporters and could still use everyone's support.
I thank you in advance for your assistance. Feel free to share this link in any appropriate group or community you chose.
I would suggest this article for reading, it is one of the best articles I have read recently that is Android related, even if you don't agree with our petition... Moto and Updates: More Planned Obsolesce from Lenovo’s Motorola
Please post a link to where they promised 18 months of fast updates and I'll sign. Since they never updated to 6.0.1 they have already violated that promise.

I can't find an actual link that says they promised, or it was even their policy, to support devices for 18 months, although Moto did agree to follow Google's recommendations (along with most other major manufacturers) of 18 months of updates for capable devices back in 2011 and has mostly followed it since then. A quick Google search of "Moto promise of fast updates" will show you that they marketed the Moto X Style/Pure and G/E models as getting "lightning fast updates".
If you don't want to sign because you don't want to agree with the petition, fine... but Moto has clearly let down their customers on their updates.
Good luck from a Motorola Atrix 4g owner. If you don't know the story on it, I'll give you a shortened version.
Moto stated on their website that the Atrix would be upgraded (specifically by the model), then said it wasn't going to be.
Until the Moto XPE actually gets upgraded, I'm not believing it. So you might be adding this phone to your petition before it's over.

Moto G is not a flagship, but it is one of Motorola's best selling phones as far as I know. That's a lot of people to screw over and leave on 6.0 December security patch like my wife's phone currently is.
I will definitely sign the petition. I don't own a Moto G 3rd Gen but I bought two Moto g 3rd for my parents a few months ago. they don't care about updates but would be nice to get Nougat on their phones. Lenovo is very lazy when it comes to updates.
I signed it. I don't know why manufacturers are so notorious for having horrible updating habits. It's not that hard to keep phones updated. Not to mention the security risk they run for not updating phones.
Done .
The point is why these companies are so stubborn, they sell us a device and then forgot us.
They have this horrible habit.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has signed the petition... We have exceeded the 1000 signature milestone and received confirmation this be a featured story on at least major Android news outlet in the coming days.
I am still requesting everyone to actively sign the petition.
Again, thank you.

Most consumers that buy these phones don't care as much as you think for updates. Heck I got family members with Lg G4 and Galaxy S6 and they've been having an update icon on their phone and don't care for it. It's the bottom line, plus if it's a top seller, they'll just make the next version and sell more. I love your passion and I'm with you, but believe me the cheap phones will not get as much support as the expensive ones, that's just the bottom line.

This is pretty much true for most things today. I've noticed that is a couple of previous phones there was an update that actually occurred right after the 18 month support mark. And sure enough, it seemed to cripple the phone slightly. I'm not surprised one bit.
Good on folks for trying but I wonder how these types of petitions are meant to work. You get the signatures needed, then what? And how is the number of signatures needed determined? Again, credit for trying to speak up about this. I just wanted to understand this method fully.

If you want Android O speak out until it's too late!

We know how shady Huawei can be about updates especially after they did not update P8 to newer version with some dumb excuse! We paid premium price for our phones! So if you want a chance to see the Android O on your device - speak out. Send them feedback mail from HiCare app. Tweet them. Post to their Facebook Page - HuaweiMobile! I will be very unhappy if my phone doesn't get the new version, especially since they didn't bother to push 7.1.1 where the shortcuts are available and some other improvements... I love this phone, but the day they announce it's not getting O I will put it for sale and NEVER EVER buy Huawei phone again.

That does nothing. The supporters on theire FB, twitter or whatever don't care about O or anything else. At the moment they prepare an emui 5.0.1 update that got leaked on Honor 8, that should arrive here soon.
Some medias say emui 5.1 arrives in november?
I dont know, but can only say, O will arrive through AOSP, means Lineage base will hit then and hope it does well then.

Most people like me are regular users and don't give a duck about custom roms. We just don't have the time and don't want to deal with it... So people like me should blast them all over the place, so we don't get only the EMUI updates, that pretty much is the same as the previous one... I don't give a duck about EMUI I can put another launcher and make my phone look the way I want... OS version is another things, always brings big improvements.
And "supporters" most of the time don't even know why they should get updates (android users) they just use what they give them.. But at least here "the more techy" ones should ask for what they have paid for... And for the price of P9 people deserve 2 OS versions, not ONE... Like other OEM are doing. Huawei is bragging how many phones they have sold, but why not take a look how many phones they sold are still supported... This OEM is complete trash, and if people remain silent, it will stay this way forever..

It's funny how you speak for everyone... I need the new version with the Icon shortcuts and no need to install another launcher to get them... I need Android O for all the new things... If you don't it's OK but don't speak for everyone else
Speak out?
To the author of the topic, with no offense but I have a strange feeling that you are not adult for long enough to know what are you expecting.
Speak out because you paid premium price? Well.. that has made my day.
Not that I am a person which will always obey whatever they say, but your speaking out through Facebook/Twitter and etc is a beatiful example of the generation which does believe, that it does make a difference.
Let's just check several things:
a) older models with were much more premium than P9 did not receive updates
b) Huawei never announced that they would even consider upgrading P9 to newest Android
c) Android/Google does not care, because they do provide clean pack to manufacturers and responsibility goes to the manufacturer
d) if you did receive phone by network provider, even if Huwaei would generate a stock update, they would provide it to the network operator and operator would decide if they would like to spend resources to upgrade "old customers"
e) Facebook/Twitter is not even operated directly by Huawei. Normally those are 3rd party companies which provides "PR/marketing online customer services" and you can even post 1000 times that you hate your phone and the only thing someone from a low level area of managers will see, will be a small .% on the excel report from 3rd party company which gives a heat map about the current overall score about Huawei compared to other brands
Good luck!
if you do like to have a newer firmware, you are in a right place. XDA. Custom ROMs or a new handset.
Welcome to 21st century for reasonable people which do think logically and don't have to post on Facebook that they have just had a burger in McDonalds.

In a brief interview with Tom's Guide's writer, a Samsung person told him that 8' series wouldn't be included. Tom's guide and other sites quickly made it into a big news and published it without verifying or using common sense. The news fed on the fears.
But the Samsung person all he told was 8' series wouldn't be included in the beta program along with 9' series. It's best to use common-sense, sit back, and wait for the verified/official news before going and bashing any company. Comment sections of those sites are going bonkers with too much hate and anger. LOL!
A senior Samsung official confirmed that 8' series would definitely get the Pie update with One UI and clarified the misinterpretation of the news sites.
I wouldn't expect it to hit our 8 series devices before March 2019. Maybe in June 2019.
Cheers!

Yeah that is true, as far as samsung did for older models, 8 series's last android update will be pie. Least we will get it. Also in my other thread in s8+ discussions, a member has talked with a samsung expert and that expert told him 8 series will be in beta testing and we would get a notification. User has uploaded the screenshot. Its still doubtfull if we will be in beta testing or not
the S9 korean variant just got the beta, only wait
Curious whether the Project Trouble helps to port the S9 Pie ROM to S8.
Would Samsung implement Project Treble for the S8 with the Pie update?
If we get treble with Pie, the development is gonna kickstart... I'm waiting

Who knows. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see when it comes to the device next year. But the thing is, we don't really need a major upgrade just to get treble on S8 and S8+. Samsung could implement it by just including it on monthly updates. You can actually test via adb to check if S8 already has treble in it.
Now we all know to take what chat support agents comments with a pinch of salt, but by chance I asked via the chat function in Samsung members app and they said there would be a pie beta, God knows how much truth there is in this and when it will happen, I'm on the same firmware that I beta tester oreo so il keep an eye out

I would say S8 would get the One UI earlier as its looks like in the UK, S9 is getting updates earlier than January, with the updates for US S9 likely for early January 2019. Hopefully this pattern recreates itself for the March release for S8.
I just read an article that Samsung released a roadmap for pie updates, and it shows the S8 and Note 8 will receive Android Pie March 2019

Android 10 got cancelled?

Hello,
today morning I saw this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/com...e_to/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
I don't know if it's true or not, but I wanted to share it ?
I posted this also in the Global Telegram group, but I got banned I don't know why, but it doesn't matter ?
Edt: Here's the direct link to MiCommunity: https://c.mi.com/thread-2830599-1-0.html?utm_source=share&utm_medium=twitter
The phone launched with Oreo (and it's an Android one phone)
They must update to Android 10 like the A2 (must get at least 3 years of security updates) the A2 lite launched the same day as the A2
U can be calm about it and don't believe the chat support?
I personally dont care what call center says. But if its true Xiaomi will lose our and Google's respect. That means they will join Huawei ban caravan. Another reason for Xiaomi ban. Xiaomi doesnt want ban, arent you Xiaomi?
Usual clueless support staff. I'm sure we'll get the update... probably after A3, so march (...?)
If you look at the screenshot, "Xiaomi support dude" is saying that Mi A2 will get Android 10 within this week (written at 22 Jan 2020). I might be mistaken but, considering that Mi A2 got the update about two weeks ago, we can conclude that Xiaomi support dudes know nothing at all lol.
Time to go custom rom if this is true.
C'mon guys. I know we're all tired of waiting but we all should know by now that Xiaomi support has no more information than we have.
We will get the 10 update either way we don't know when
The guy is clearly clueless. Speaking to Xiaomi reps on chat is like trying to measure both position and speed of a subatomic particle: The indetermination principle forbids you from gathering all the relevant information at once .
The A2 Android 10 update got pulled out last week, since it was less than half baked, and it was causing a plethora of different issues. It should be resuming now. This obviously impacts us, since the small number of developers Xiaomi devotes to the A1 program can barely deal with the issues of cooking a ROM for one device at the time. On top of that, most of the Xiaomi guys on chat don't even have a clue of the difference between MIUI and Android One.
So let's all calm down here, and wait until they consider the A2 issues solved. I for one know I won't be Guinea pigging for Xiaomi, and will surely wait a couple of weeks after they release the A10 OTA to update my device.

No, it's actually really good that someone is writing about it. If nothing, it will get some views and might grab attention of some bigger media causing bigger impact. It's a shame that you can get Q up and running from community members that don't get anything from it and do it in their free time but the manufacturer fails to do so. Community ROMs might not be perfect, but stock is neither.

In theory, yes, but Google also agreed it's up to the manufacturers, so, if they behave like they did with other devices in the past, they might not bring an update to Android 10, only giving security patches.

Not in a theory. Xiaomi signed agreement.

The agreement is to provide monthly updates for at least 3 years.
