Hello, recently I've got u11 life (androidone version) with android 8. Nearly everythings works fine (once return button and recently apps button stopped to work), but i have discovered a bug where I can't save any pictures, screenshots etc. My phone gives me an error which says something like "insufficient storage", yet I have like 20gb of empty space. I can download and install, update apps normally, even downloding music, videos, pictures works. Any idea what may cause this? Or what to do, to fix it?

im having a little bug since yesterday.
after every reboot the shortcuts for 3rd party apps like whatsapp, es file explorer etc . dissappear from my home screen. however walkman, play store won't.
i place the missing ones again but they dissappear again on next reboot.
how to solve this?
EDIT: i searched a bit, maybe its been caused due to moving them to internal storage. but they don't appear even after 10 minutes.
it did not happen ever before even when the apps were on the internal storage.
I went to go play some games on my phone today. One of the games, when I launched it, gave an error that said "App isn't installed". I noticed that the game's home screen icon had been replaced by a grayscale version of itself, possibly something that Nova Launcher was doing. Then I noticed half my other games had the same problem - all greyscale icons, all "not installed". I have also noticed every couple of weeks or so that a "hole" will appear in my home screen icons - there used to be an icon there, but there isn't anymore, and I install so many apps that I can't remember what it was. I also notice that my "Free space" widget will randomly jump up by a GB or two. "Huh, I thought I only had 3GB remaining, now I have 4GB? What the heck?"
Remnants of the apps still remain in the obb/data folders, but the apps themselves are disappearing, and I don't know why. I do not, and have never, installed any apps on an external SD card, I wouldn't even know how. What on earth could cause my system to actually take an installed app, delete almost all its data, without ever asking me or telling me? What kind of system logger could I install to figure out why this is happening?
Example: Ski Safari AT, second row 5 across, has been deleted and had its icon turn grey. When I tap it, it says "App isn't available":

this is really interesting..
let us know if ever you can see what the cause is if ever no one can determine here
Same thing happens to me, Nvidia Shield.
The cause is Android is hopeless.
What???? Really? ??
I can't believe this. Shocking
May be there is a virus or someone is making you fool by messing your mobile up.
Please make a factory reset but before that try to figure out what is going on?
Do you know how to make log file?
Google it.
Upload that log file here and devs will help you.
I'm running the latest Sultan rom and the latest xposed. Just noticed that my camera apps record video just fine, but no photos are recorded. The apps start normally and act like everything is ok, but after taking a photo (which acts normal), no file is saved. Seems like they're trying to save a file--the back button won't close the apps like usual. There are no error messages, except for Dcam, which says, after a second press of the shutter button, 'Picture taking has failed. What a terrible failure!!'
I've tried clearing caches and rebooting. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Make sure there's a space of around 2gb left in storage, sometimes it happens because of not enough space in system.
35 gb free. Thanks.
Ok, stray bytes I guess. I wiped system and caches and reinstalled rom and gapps and things are normal again.
This has happened several times since my last post. In every case, reinstalling or updating the rom and gapps restores the functionality of the camera (it happens with all camera apps I have). In time, photos stop saving, videos are always ok. Just like my original post. If anyone has any ideas I'd sure appreciate it.
Hello good people of XDA, please help
.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Android 8.1, not rooted.
Issue is present maybe half the time I use the device, the other half everything works fine.
Symptoms:
After taking photo with oem camera app, there is a circle spinning around thumbnail and then the thumbnail is empty and sometimes camera crashes without error message. Most of the time the first picture I take is saved and appears in gallery minutes later, the other I take after few seconds are lost. Changing storage to external SD doesnt help.
When trying to download app from store, there is no response from Install button or Google Play crashes like camera. In better case "Download pending"
When trying to copy files from internal memory to SD file manager crashes after few hundred MBs.
Google Photos can't edit, no response from Edit button.
BUT - When I tried to test by SD Card tester it writes data fine, cca 200 MB/s.
Tried:
Delete all camera data.
Factory reset.
Do you have any idea how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks!
Hello everyone!
Today I updated my HTC U12 + (128GB) to the Android Pie version (9.0):
First I received an update of approximately 350 MB, which was downloaded and installed without any problem, the cell phone restarted without any problems (I clarify that my cell phone is encrypted and when it restarts, ask for a password to continue with the restart). For now everything is going well.
After a while the main update was downloaded (950 MB approx) and I had it installed as soon as the download was finished.
Again the cell phone restarted, he asked me for the password to decrypt it, but after that, it went completely black, he did not advance anything else for several minutes. Amid the panic, fear and despair, I pressed the power button to restart the cell phone, asked for the password again, and apparently charged the rest of the installation.
When I went to use the Camera application, the option thath appears in the lower right corner to see the last photos taken (like a gallery) is not working well, the application crashes and is not letting me see the photos taken. (Here goes the first problem).
Another problem I have is with the Google Play Store app: It doesn't allow me to download apps from the store, as if it were locked or something like that. (Here goes the second problem).
Now, the main problem is: Like any good engineer, any problem can be solved with a reboot to see if everything loads well, but I already tried and it didn't work. And following the good traditions of the good engineer, it can be said that I do a hard reset (erasing all the settings and content of the cell phone, which I also consider an effective solution, I will not deny it), but currently I am outside the country where I have hired My phone number, and for work I need WhatsApp (and as you know, I need a text message with the code to login), and I have no way to activate Roamming.
Can anyone help this good citizen with any advice, trick, recommendation or magic spell that does not involve formatting the phone and solving these problems?
Thanks!
PD: A friend with the "same" model (64GB) had no issues with the instalation, and we compared the camera version number, and everythings is the same.
Delete camera and gallery data in settings and reboot. If that don't work do a factory reset... Sometimes after an update it is necessary to delete old caches that get stuck

I have already deleted the cache of the applications with problems, but it still does not work properly.
Thanks for your answer and support with this.
(Until I can return to my country, I cannot do the hard reset... sadly)
no issues here since yesterday evening
So far it's great, very smooth, phone (64GB blue on TMO US w/ 128GB SD) is faster & battery life seems to have improved a lot though it's only 1PM here so we will see...
Upgrade went the same way like yours except I waited patiently to come back from the "blackout" after the decryption was done, thanks for the heads-up (though I usually wait a while anyway.)
UI is a tad more responsive - I have a lot running on my phone, I use it heavily for business all day long.
I like the clock's new location in the upper left corner actually more than the previous one - however the new UI design is a too bubbly and too colorful, too 'pop' for my taste, the previous one was far more elegant, I think. I will give it some time, see if I get used to it - if not I will just look up some more subtle theme.
I only had to re-apply my notification sound setting, everything else was kept intact so it's all good.
All in all I'm satisfied so far, very smooth upgrade - it did worth the wait, thank you HTC!
