Battery draining app .... 15% to 25% in one night - General Questions and Answers

For huawei mobile, Settings - Battery - Battery usage details, tap the Info icon upper-right corner, you will find a rank for 'Top 4 battery using apps'.
In addition, you can scroll timeline in the chart.

[APP][4.0+][2013.09.11] GeoLog v0.50

GeoLog is a new kind of location tracker which changes tracking characteristics based on where you are and what you are doing.
On foot, you travel slower than by car, and you may not want to gather location data as often. If you're standing still, why track location at all - it's just a waste of power. If you're on a photo walk, you might only want to track location while walking, and not when doing anything else - like driving to the where the walk starts. When on a long trip, you may wish to use a less accurate low power tracking solution, while on a short trip you may prefer tracking as precisely as possible. This is all profile-based and highly configurable.
Based on Google's new fused location provider, it can determine when you are standing still, walking, cycling, or in a moving vehicle, and adjust tracking parameters accordingly. It will automatically switch between all methods of gathering location data (sensors, cell and Wi-Fi networks, GPS, etc) to give you the best location fix possible, within the parameters you set up.
The app currently supports exporting to GPX and KML formats, and has an extensive selection of export filters. GPX export files are tested against Lightroom, where KML export files are tested against Google Earth.
Apha / Experiment
This is an alpha release. It is already usable, but it's not yet feature complete. It has also not undergone rigorous testing on various Android versions yet, so expect issues. Reference/development device was an SGS3 running 4.2.
Furthermore, this whole thing is an experiment. I'm not sure how well this will work in reality. I have built it to track my whereabouts on a long trip far away, and seems to have worked rather well at that !
You will also probably need to adjust the profile presets to your personal preferences. Ultimately, I would like this to be good enough to just leave on 100% of the time!
Scary Permissions
This app requires location and activity permissions to track your location. It also needs to run at boot to start the tracking service (if enabled). Wakelocks are required to process the location data at the configured interval. External storage permissions are required to export your data.
I do not track anything you do or what you click. All personal data goes to the app internal database only, you are the only one with access to that information. Your information is not sent to me.
Source
GeoLog is open source, licensed as Apache v2. You can find the latest sources here: https://github.com/Chainfire/GeoLog . Note that a lot of what goes on under the hood is inside Google Play Services, which is closed source.
Download
You can get GeoLog at the Play Store

Changelogs
2013.09.11 - v0.50
Restructured and rewrote some of the code for the open sourcing of the app, this is simply a rebuild. There are no significant feature updates or bugfixes.
2013.07.21 - v0.40 ALPHA
- Inititial public release
Optimizing the use of all the sensors pertinent to location is an excellent idea.
I´ll start testing it right away.
Thanks
Been waiting for someone to make use of Google's new activity tracking api. If anyone can do it properly, it's you chain .
I look forward to what the future holds for this app. Testing now!
Intresting we r working on somethingsimilar
Another interesting app, not sure how much use ital be for me personally. But im sure i can i could find a way. Does it also consider other location sources or strictly GPS?
Edit: nm...i should read first, vn.
I'm very surprised the google folks that created "My Tracks" hasn't used the new APIs and fused location stuff yet within their app.
I still don't understand what exactly this app does.
does it make the entire phone use different location method for example Google map browser to use low power low accuracy, or the settings are just meant for geolog app only.

Hi,
I used this app while taking a ship tour diving in the red sea.
It worked perfectly (I had only the GPS enabled) and by the time I got back at home, I was able to get a log of the different spots where I dived.
Thank you very much for this great app.
I now simply let it run in the background, and forget it.
And whenever I need to get the location of a place I was, the log are there!
Great!

The app seems good so far but something that is really annoying is that you get notifications for old news, not just new top stories. I don't want to keep receiving notifications for news that I already saw or read, just new stories.

Thanks for the feedback. That's something I've been working on.
This is noticed by users who set a low frequency notification displaying time. That's because a relevant news is supposed to be relevant for a long time, so the app keeps showing the same kind of news as relevant, unless there is one different trending news upcoming.
In the next version to prevent this I could give user the ability to alternate most relevant news and 2nd one.
Then I could also filter news to show by relevance, instead of showing news that are relevant at the moment, but not so relevant for a longer period time. :good:
Also, when I click on the notification to actually read the article, I would like for the notification to go away, rather then staying there and I have to then clear the notification my self.

A note for those who are running Android KitKat 4.4.2, there is a bug which affects services.

Emui App Lock and Facebook Messenger

Hi, i can't see Facebook Messenger in the App Lock list and I don't know why :crying:
I'd like to have Messenger locked with fingerprint, can you help me?
P.s. sorry for my bad english
Hi Panther, I have the same issue have you found a solution ?
I use Tasker + AutoTools for this, it's much faster than Huawei's native app lock.
Basically you create a full screen message that blocks the app as soon as it's launched, and the only way to get rid of the message and continue to the app is by fingerprint.
Any update!

Context is App Launch, here's the task settings.
Some may not apply to you, for example if I'm in my car I disable the app lock.
This looks like a better option than the native one.

Hello guys. the solution is too simple
i tested it on my P 10 lite and it works fine
here is the steps :
1. download and install [App Cloner] google search for download
2. open App Cloner , in tab Apps serach for Messenger that you have in your phone and clic on it
3. in case name change messenger to any thing you want for me i put "F. Messenger"
4. clic on the Nike arrow to begin Clonning proccess.
5. once messenger is clonned a window will appear just clic on install F.messenger.
6. go to your native app lock and search for F. Messenger and select to protect it.
7. Don't forget to uninstall the original messenger, you don't need it now.
That's all.
Please excuse my english

Device Maintenance app

Hello my fellow S8+ owners! The device maintenance app that is in the settings menu keeps telling me that some apps are slowing down my phone and to press "Fix Now" to put those apps to sleep. However, every time I have done that it will go through the process and even when it displays the maintenance score of 100 it still shows the same message. It's not a huge deal I know but it annoys the hell out of me that there could be some app running in the background slowing down my phone. If anyone has any suggestions to solve this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
When you in device maintenance click on memory wait for all running apps to load and click clean now. Same with battery

I was actually able to fix it a short time ago. I had to go into the app manager and clear the data for the device manager app and restart it. It must have been a bug of some kind. All is good now though. Thanks for the input anyways though!
Ironic that the device maintenance app tells you how to speed up your device but itself is a memory hog and disabling it will help your device more than using it
