Pixel and Pixel XL vibration motor compatibility - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hi.
The vibration motor on my Pixel is broken, and a friend of mine has a broken Pixel XL.
Is it possible to use the one from his phone as a repair part?
On iFixit store there is a vibration motor for Pixel and it is said, that it's not compatible with XL. But on eBay I could find items where the same vibration motor is promised to suit both Pixel and Pixel XL.
Does anyone know if Pixel and Pixel XL vibration motors really are compatible and interchangeable?

Google Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2 battery size?

Just wondering if anybody has caught wind of what the battery sizes will be on the new Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2?
I currently own the Nexus 5x. I love the phone, but the battery life SUCKS! I was tempted to buy the Pixel XL but I heard the Pixel 2 was being released soon. I'm sure they improved on the battery I just don't know by how much.
Thx,

Switching from a pixel 2 xl

Hey guys I m switching from a pixel 2 xl and looking for something cheaper. Would you guys recommend a pixel 3 a or pixel 3a xl?

Depends on what you want. The phones are more or less identical, the only major differences are the size and battery - the 3a XL is bigger in both.
If you're currently having the Pixel 2 XL and are OK with the size, then go for the 3a XL. If you would like to switch to a smaller phone, then go for the ordinary 3a.
I'd wait till the Pixel 4 is released in mid-Oct. You might find that Google offers some decent trade in values for your Pixel 2 XL. Or discount the 3 series even further than it is now ($300 off).
As noted, the screen and battery are about the only things better on the 3a XL. You've lived with the 2 XL screen this long, so it must not bother you too much. A few more weeks won't make a difference.
If you want a cheaper phone, you could definitely switch over to a 3a or 3a xl. I went with the 3a because i got tired of having a big phone( 2xl) and I got also annoyed of having to carry a headphone jack adapter. I only miss the faster snapdragon processor. The battery life on the 2xl was terrible too. I do miss the actual front speakers on the 2xl. Can't go wrong with the 3a though. It gets me through the day.
Either would work

Either works; the 3a is smaller than the S7 or newer (I came from the S7). Also, it has a longer SOT than the S7 and charges faster than the S7 as well. Here's a shocker - the S7 charges faster using the 3a's charger than using its own charger; however, the 3a charges faster yet. (That means it is NOT a fault in the S7's charger.)

I am on a bit of a budget to be honest. I can't buy a phone out right and knowing Google it's going to be very expensive.

And for me personally I want to try the 3A XL because it's a better option for me and I have to spend less money. They only gripe I have with the phone is that does not have the image processing chip my 2XL has.

I have a pixel 2 XL which is on its deathbed as well. So you think I should just go for the regular 3A?

Why would you switch from a pixel 2xl to a 3a or 3axl?? I don't think so it is a very smart idea

I never missed headphone jack, guess i adopted to this trend way too early. Pixel 2xl battery life is quite good for me and does the job. Cheaper, yeah but then if you already have 2xl why would you spend extra money?

Does 3A have dead pixel issues like Pixel 3 has

I was wondering which one should buy Pixel 3a or 3. Does 3A have dead pixel issues like Pixel 3 has?
3a here. Display is perfect.
YMMV.
Agreed. I've never heard of complaints on the 3a or 3a XL series screens.
All displays might have dead pixels. They're not limited to certain devices.

contrast ratio matters

the pixel 5 has 1,000,000:1 vs the 4a 5G that has 100,000:1
Its good that the more expensive Pixel 5 have better components ie screen, speakers, vibration motor.
Just hope Pixel 5 does not look like that Pixel 4a 5G compared to my Note 10 when it arrives!
I just received mine, and I hope it's a bug but the colors have no punch, it's a little washed up (I'm coming from a one plus 3t). But their is little to no differences between color modes, so maybe something is not working as it should...

Looking for an affordable pixel 4a (4G) replacement display

So, I have recently bought a used (and abused looks like) Pixel 4a and the display on that phone is pretty much dead, but the rest of the phone is okay.
Ideally, I'd like to repair and use it, so I need a replacement display.
In the past I've had good luck with Ali-express displays that have some minor defects, like a dead pixel or two but it doesn't seem like those exist for this model, or at least not yet.
I'd love to save a few if I can find a display of lesser quality or a used one so does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, warranty repair is not really an option as I live in a country where Google doesn't officially sell pixels. I had this one imported from the UK and quite frankly I have no idea of the history of it.

Thanks for the reply. I've considered ifixit, especially in light of recent announcements but unfortunately they don't have these from their EU store and they don't ship outside of the USA. I've thought about shipping by proxy but at that point it'll be more expensive than ordering a brand new display from China.
